Josefina was a true pro, a seasoned specialist from Cuba who really knows what she's doing. Today 7/23/25, I was sexually assaulted by my massage therapist León M Dacosta (his name was listed as Dacosta on the Massage Envy app and I thought this was a female name; that's why I booked him). He pulled the blanket down below my breasts and was massaging me inappropriately there for the last 15 minutes of the massage... both of my breasts were entirely exposed, I couldn't even believe it was happening, I felt frozen and couldn't speak up. He was rubbing them inappropriately and had the blanket down beneath them for 15 minutes... can't even believe it. The investigative team reached out to me an hour after I reported this which I appreciate... but León Dacosta needs to be held accountable, he is using his job as a means to molest women. Horrifying experience!!! Please read before booking I had a 9pm appointment at Massage Envy Midtown Miami and was sexually assaulted by a male therapist. What was supposed to be a relaxing, safe environment turned into something deeply traumatic. To make things worse, I was charged extra for leaving a tip! something I was never clearly told would happen. The front desk receptionist was loudly chatting on her personal phone call the entire time, and I could hear every word. Totally unprofessional and uncomfortable. This location also has a pattern of constantly canceling appointments, even when booked well in advance. There's no respect for your time or safety. Do not go here. The owner needs to be held accountable and corporate needs to seriously reevaluate how this location is operating. I've been a member for almost a year now. it started out great, I found my massage therapist after trying a few others, and I stayed consistent with him because he's incredible and he knows my body and my issues. Lemay c is the best. but the last two months I have made my appointments with him and haven't gotten a massage from him. last month he was sick, but the midtown location didn't notify me until the day of. so I went with another massage therapist. this month I went, for my appt with lemay, and I was told he was not in that day, even though I showed the front desk my screen shot of my appt with him that night. noone notified me. I was forced to get a massage with a random man named Carlos I believe. it was the worst massage I've ever had in my life. it was terrible, he used dry hands on my body even when I asked for more lotion and oil. he doesn't speak any English and when I asked him why he wasn't using hot towels, he mummer something . it was absolutely horrible and I left in tears. oh, and before I left i opened the hot towel fridge and there were about 10 of them in there. so he's either lazy, or has no idea what massage envy standards are. I'm pissed and I emailed the two women I was told to email and I have not gotten a single response in over 2 months now. this is absolutely unacceptable. as a member who pays for memberships, this is not okay. my experience was so bad last massage I left CRYING !!! read more

I came in 15 min early to receive a 60 min deep tissue massage .. 11am it was the worst massage iv ever got. 5/10. My masseuse wasnt skilled in that method and was hard for her to get the pressure needed. Also she stopped at 11:44. So this is the smallest massage envy I've ever been too, and they use a dark massage room as a waiting area. It's filled with giant cardboard boxes and several chairs. Every time I have booked a massage I have asked for deep tissue. I want the hardest pressure. Or I can't relax. Swedish massages don't do anything for me at all. I have been through several massage therapists. All super nice, all great massage therapists, none of them really do deep tissue. What I have noticed that is incredibly disappointing is that everyone at this location when sick or not feeling well still come to work. It's not the therapists fault she wasn't well, but I booked a 90 minute and she couldn't perform deep tissue or for the 90 minutes. She shortened our session to one hour. I left completely unrelaxed. I ask again when rebooking now for the strongest guy they have. I want deep tissue. I want to be bruised after. I get into the room and the guy asks what kind of pressure, I say the hardest you got. So he leaves and comes back 7 minutes later. And starts to massage me. When I ask for harder pressure he tells me he hurt his wrist...why did you agree to massage me when I asked for hard pressure and you know you can't do that today. They called me to make me come in half an hour earlier to accommodate their schedule; but couldn't tell me I couldn't receive deep tissue. I come there to heal and feel well. It's my wellness plan. It's not my job to be worried about the health and well being of the staff. So I had a genuine toddler Esque fit and spoke to a manager. Had to come back two hours later. But enter Martha! Martha had clearly heard about my fit and she came guns blazing. Intense pressure. Finally after months of coming I felt some level of relief. After two years of being a recurring member at Massage envy and visiting over 10 locations when I travel the country for work, I have never in my life encountered a person more vile, judgmental, and audaciously rude as massage therapist NILA. I took an hour out of my day to drive over to massage envy with my pregnant friend, and we both badly needed massages. I work with autistic kids and also do stunt training and lots of physical exercise. I was assigned Nila for a deep tissue. She showed up to the waiting room with my pregnant friend's massage therapist, gave me a look over and then walked straight back to the room and I guess expected me to follow her-- while my friend's therapist patiently waited for her to get up and also introduced herself. When I entered the room, I proceeded straight to an area to drop off my purse , and she quickly and sternly said "PUT YOUR STUFF HERE" pointing to the other side of the room. I said, alright, and did, and as I was taking off my shoes she said "so what do you want?" I go to massage envy every month in whatever city I'm in-- and I get the same thing every time. "I'd like a deep tissue and to focus on my neck, back, shoulders, forearms and hands." She rolled her eyes at me and started waving her hands around with an attitude and said YOU WANT ME TO DO ONE FULL HOUR ON YOUR BACK ALONE? I said-- no, my neck, arms, hands and back, please. She replied "That's stupid you can't do one hour on your back it's not advised!" I said, okay-- that's not what I said but I have been doing this every month for two years so I know what I want--- Before I could even finish, she cut me off and said WHAT IS IT YOU DO FOR A LIVING? And while I understand that the intention was likely to know what I needed-- I had literally told her what I needed. She was accusatory, judgmental, inflammatory and straight up RUDE. So I replied, "um, I work with kids and I also do stunts" -- she cut me off AGAIN and said "fine whatever get on the table" and walked to put down her stuff. I was so appalled that i legitimately said "I'm sorry, this is so weird. I'm going to request someone else." (Which I have NEVER had to do!) as I opened the door to walk out, she left the room and SLAMMED the door behind me, walked away and mouthed a bunch of insults under her breath in Spanish (and I'm 100% Latina and speak Spanish so I perfectly UNDERSTOOD). She was INCREDIBLY MEAN it was actually shocking. I spoke to the manager, Rachel who told me there had been another complaint about Nila like that before which leaves me wondering-- why is this rude, mentally unstable person still working there? Instead of making someone feel welcomed she challenges them and calls their needs and requests stupid?! I don't know if Rachel or higher up Ilia Figueroa are going to do anything about this-- but I've filed a complaint with the Better Business bureau and will be contacting the Florida Department of Labor and corporate headquarters. I was given another lady to do my massage, who unfortunately didn't have the skills or technique to say she could do deep tissue, but that clearly wasn't the disappointing part. I now have to pay for another massage at a different place and am actually considering cancelling my membership altogether after two years. If Nila stays employed, I absolutely will. read more

I just had the best facial of my life with Emily. She was very nice, talked through everything, made sure I was comfortable the whole time and was SO gentle. Extractions didn't hurt, she always checked temperatures with me before putting them on my face and while some products sat on my face she massaged my shoulders/neck. Despite having their cancellation in writing as processed, they don't fix the problem. They just act stupid and keep promising to research the continual charges. Earlier last week, after reviewing my checking account, I noticed that I had not been charged by the Massage Envy in Midtown location (Miami, Florida). Since I have had an active membership with Massage Envy Midtown for a year, I called the location on Saturday and spoke with a representative who told me that since my 12 month contract was up, my membership automatically expired and that I currently have eight available sessions which I have until February 20, 2023 to use or lose. Needless to say, I was disgusted when I heard this because if I had not paid attention to my charges then I would not have known of the automatic account expiration and would have lost the sessions without having the opportunity to use them. I was also disgusted by the fact that I now have such a short amount of time to use the sessions. Nevertheless, I explained to the representive who "assisted" me that I did not request a cancellation of my account and that I expected my account to automatically increase from $55.00 monthly to $60.00 monthly. The representive I spoke with stated that the company was unable to honor this option (although I was previously told it would be given) because the price is no longer offered by "corporate". The representative I spoke with was not helpful so I told her that I would be sending an email for further assistance. Shortly after my conversation with the representive I completed an online form linked directly to the Midtown location. I also sent an email to guestrelations@massageenvy.com. This morning I received an email response from Massage Envy stating that the $60.00 monthly membership fee would be honored, and that the Midtown location has been notified and I should call the Midtown location to reactivate my account. I called the Midtown location to reactivate my account and spoke with the same representative I communicated with Saturday. I explained to the representative that I spoke with someone via email and that they agreed to honor the $60.00 membership rate. The representative stated that she "doubts that" and told me that she would follow-up with the person I spoke with via email. Shortly after I received a call back from the Midtown representive. She told me that I would have to pay a $70.00 monthly membership rate with free enhancements (for the inconvenience) or $20.00 monthly to avoid losing the remaining massages that I already purchased (smh). **Please note: The midtown location does not offer hot stone massages (which is an enhancement available at other locations). Also although I use enhancements sometimes, this is not something I want during every session. Although my previous interactions with staff at this location has been pleasant, and the massages have been excellent the service I received today was disgusting. The $70.00 charge is not the problem because if this representive had taken time to fully research my account she would have seen that I usually pay more than that when leaving tips, etc. The problem is a "customer service" representive allowed her personal pride to get ahead of honoring an agreement made to a customer via email and ultimately causing the independently owned and operated franchised Midtown location to lose a good customer. read more

I had one of the best deep tissue massages that I have ever had in my life with Yasmani! He took my stress away, and it was so good that I even booked a 90-minute massage the next day to really get into some stuck areas in my body. The massages from Yasmani were really some of the best massages that I have ever had, and I've had some basic massage training so I know what I like. Rachel at the front desk was great too. I wish I could review the actual massage but the customer service is so horrific I couldn't even get that far. I came in after scheduling a massage via the app. I indicated my issues and specified I wanted firm pressure. Great! They had availability for the next day, which was perfect as I was in pretty serious pain. I arrive and am greeted and brought to the lounge. A woman who is very pregnant greets me and brings me To my room. I re-inform her of my issues and she informed me she only does light-medium pressure. Quite frankly, that's a waste of my time and money given the muscular issue I'm dealing with. I go out to the front desk to inform them of this issue. Of course, they're in a bind because they've booked me With a woman incongruent with my needs and Are fully booked. Totally get that. But, the front desk receptionist only offers me a rescheduling. Not, "I'll check with other nearby locations to see if there are some availabilities." Not, "I'm so sorry, let me rebook you at the membership rate for the inconvenience." She even tried to insinuate that I should have known Brenda's pressure abilities because it says so on her profile. UPDATE July 24, 2020- I just got charged AGAIN on my card again for this membership. I live in Miami, FL where cases are spiking and the deaths just hit an all-time high yesterday. How DARE you keep charging your customers? This is disgusting. Remove the charge from my card immediately. If I don't have it gone by Wednesday of next week, I am filing a complaint through Amex. I I was never notified that my card would be charged again and my membership would be active again. I assumed that your organization, along with the rest of the world, knew we were in the middle of a PANDEMIC and would have some respect for your customers. Remove the charge. Cancel my membership. Do not sign up for their membership because they will ignore all of your calls and emails to cancel your membership. Then they will tell you that their customer service team is working on cancelling it for you. But it never gets cancelled. The true reason why I give my experience 2/5 starts is twofold: the therapist cut the appointment 10 minutes short, and the front desk did nothing about it when I approached them with my concern (all they said was that it was unusual). If I am paying for a 60 minute massage, I expect for my massage to last 60 minutes - not 55, and definitely not 50. The massage therapist was kind and concerned with my pressure preference, however, did not meet my expectations. She repeated the same movements over and over again and used gloves, which is understandable considering the current state of the pandemic but unexpected as I was not notified this particular therapist would be using gloves for the appointment; I would have rather booked an appointment with a massage therapist who didn't use gloves as they alter the experience, making the massage drier and rougher than normal. I wouldn't go as far to say that I won't be back to this location, but I am disappointed with today's unpleasant customer service experience. read more

One of the worst massages I've experienced. I've been receiving massages for 20 years and a member of Massage Envy for 6 years. This has to be the worst Massage Envy massage I received. I called to request a strong therapist for a deep tissue. I was told the masseuse (can't recall her name) was one of the best and most requested therapists. I was sure I'd have a great massage and left more stressed than when I went in. The masseuse and I went over my chart, I requested a deep tissue and pinpointed my problem areas. Right off the bat I asked for stronger pressure. The first 5 minutes were fine, pressure wasn't as strong as I'd like, but I went with it. After those 5 minutes, it was 75 minutes of effleurage (more like 75 minutes of applying lotion). Asking for more pressure did not make a difference. I expressed my disappointment during my checkout, and all I was told was, "Oh, she's one of the best and most requested therapists. Did you have an open communication with her?" YES. read more

Therapists lack skills BIGLY They are more like oil rubbers than actual massage therapists with any knowledge of anatomy of the human body. Avoid: holly, lemay, this last I basically got up from the table within 5 min, it was so bad. I know ME is hit / miss. Hi! I am here visiting my Miami family and wanted a massage. I gave it a shot, called same day for an afternoon deep tissue massage and was booked at 4 o'clock. I really didn't know what to expect. James was my Massage Therapist, and he did an excellent job. I like deep tissue, but on occasion I had to ask him to lighten up. I have no idea how this facility works as far as walk-ins or having to become a member. But if you're in town and you can squeeze in a massage, and James is available, I'd request him. read more

After Khrystal the 'Asst manager' called me back finally, I asked her for paperwork to cancel my membership. I also asked since I had paid for the Month of March I should have at least 1 if not 2 massages left. I asked if this facility was open and using precautions with cleanliness, etc...she said yes. Keep in mind this was just last Wed/Thu (March 18/19) we had this conversation. She emailed the cancellation forms to me, i filled out and sent back. Got no confirmation response from her. I emailed her again asking if she received my signed forms?' No response. I show up today SUNDAY for my massage and the doors locked your closed. What?? That's fine if you closed due to Covid19 but have the PROFESSIONALISM to at least call the customers and let them know services are cancelled. I am so aggravated with company right now.
