Pros: Monroeville location seemed very clean and organized. The lounge was a nice small area with tea and coffee refreshments. The lady at the front desk was very nice and had a wonderful explanation of where to go and what to expect. Gregory did my massage and he was absolutely fantastic at making sure any problem areas I had were worked out. He was very polite throughout the massage checking in with me to make sure I felt okay. Great experience! Cons: During my massage , I heard nothing but people talking throughout the hallway. Not sure what their protocol is in regards to keeping the hallway quiet where there are massage rooms on each side , but it was a bit uncomfortable and hard to get into the relaxing stage due to the noise. The water was held at the end of the hallway , not in the lounge with the tea, which I found to be super inconvenient. Other in the lounge had to seek workers out to ask where water could be as well, just didn't make any sense. The cost for non members was $125 for a 60 minute massage which is kind of absurd . The massage was good but it wasn't worth $125. I understand their tactic is to get you to be a member so the cost is lower , but I think they're missing out on a whole new business opportunity for those who want to just pop in for a massage and not be a member where they are tied down to a monthly contract. For $125 you can get a 90 minute massage at a ton of other spots . Not 60 minutes. Due to the cost, I probably won't come back. But overall it was a nice experience and I always appreciate a very clean business. read more

I found my second massage spot! I called my normal ME and my favorite Masseuse was unavailable and they had no openings. I called the Monroeville ME and they had an almost immediate opening for a 90 minute session. Getting there is a little tricky: GPS says the location is next to The Vitamin Shoppe, but it's actually across the street next to Panera, so don't get messed up like I did and drive around for 10 minutes looking for the place. The Desk Staff was amazing. Very friendly and kind. They were quite professional and they made me feel like I was at my normal ME. Matt, my Masseuse was AMAZING! I came in because I did something to my neck and shoulder...not sure what...but I couldn't turn my head to the right without blinding pain and I couldn't lift my arm. By the time Matt was done with me, I felt like a new person...my neck and shoulder felt a thousand times better. Matt does great work. If you like medium/hard pressure, he's your guy. Meh. I gave this place a chance because it was close to home and fairly affordable. They get you into the door with the introductory offer. You check in, then are escorted to a waiting area. Then you get called back to a room, likely for more waiting. The massage itself was OK. It wasn't one I was blown away by, but wasn't a bad experience, either. Not something I was eager to get back and try again. What was perhaps most frustrating was the post massage experience. You come out of the dimly lit, relaxing massage environment and then have to check out. They use high pressure sales techniques as to why you should do a monthly membership, it's the best deal around, you can never get in on this again, etc. I just wanted to pay for my massage and go home. It should be noted that they say they face prenatal massage, but have limited employees who do prenatal. They also don't have specific prenatal beds, just use various pillows and such to position. And they won't do a prenatal massage if you are pregnant with twins if you don't have doctor permission. I get that they are covering themselves and want to be safe, but they need to ask those questions so you don't show up expecting a relaxing massage but can't get one because of a lack of doctor's note. read more

Never again will I go here. From the beginning the receptionist spoke to me like she didnt want my business and seemed to be a little condescending. She never once smiled or seemed please that I was walking in. I filled out the paper work and specified a deep tissue massage. I waited a half an hour and had a small consultation with the girl about my form. We talked IN DETAIL about me getting a deep tissue. The massage therapist came to get me looked at my paper work and said she doesnt do deep tissue massages.... so why they heck are you here??? Why would they give me you when I specifically asked and confirmed what kind of massage I wanted? I asked her to see if someone else could do it...she said not until 7....I had already been there at 4:30... Very disappointing and a waste of my time. Will not return ever! read more

I was shocked when I saw all the negative reviews. Yes, it is extremely difficult to schedule a massage especially if you are trying to get in the same week (I checked all locations in PGH and this one by far had the least amount of openings... and I've been checking since I got a gift card a month ago so it wasn't just this week.) I decided to check what facial openings they had, and they ended up having a last minute cancellation so I booked my 60 minute facial with Victoria today. Not only was it a great facial and I got the intro $65 offer, but she didn't pressure me to buy or sign up for a membership AT ALL. I explained when it came up in the facial that I wouldn't be able to do it today but I would be interested next time. When I left she suggested products that would work best for me and told me to take a picture of them for when I'm ready. I LOVED her approach, it was informative but not pushy. I will absolutely be back for another facial with Victoria, and hopefully for a massage if they can get me in same week! ;) read more

This place would get a 5 star rating based on massage alone - if it was convenient to get an appointment. I've called every day for the last 2 weeks and only today did I get a response - and can't get an appointment for another few weeks. They tell me to book ahead, but nobody ever answers the phone. I've tried to use the app as well but it never shows any available appointments. I've been paying for a members for over a year now and I have 6 sessions available - that I can't use. And if I cancel my membership I only have so many days to use the sessions I've already paid for or I lose them. I wish I could give a better review because I've had great massages - but it's almost impossible to get one. read more

Got upset and got the police called on me . The manager was rude racist and purposely gave me the wrong corporate number twice . When all I wanted was a refund of massages I never used which I called ahead of time and they told me they could. I called different locations and I got the same answer they gave me Ahead of time . I have no issues with the massages themselves. I'm writing this in the hopes that I can save someone else the headache of the "membership." It seemed like a good idea when I signed up. Massages are great and I'd love to get one every month. Unfortunately, it was hard to find the time to actually go and I was still charged the monthly membership fee of $60. Massages do roll over from one month to the next but if I couldn't find the time for one massage, how was I going to find time for 2+ every month?! There is no way to get out of the membership so I rode it out until the 12 months were up and I was so relieved that I would no longer be throwing $60/month out the window. When I called to cancel, no one could tell me when my membership expired. Different staff members gave me different dates. I had definitely made 12 payments and had my checking account statement to prove it. Once that had been figured out I was offered an extension: for only $10/month I would be given another 6 months to use up the unused massages (10 of them, I believe). Why would I pay more money for something that I already paid for and that is already owed to me?! I said no thanks to that and was told that I needed to fill out a Membership Cancellation Request form. I had to "request" that they no longer take my money. So I completed this form twice and faxed it to them twice because of course they had no record of the first one. I was then offered another extension, for free this time, to use up my unused massages. I told them fine, I'd take it since it wouldn't cost me any more. Have I used any of them? Nope. That was 5 or 6 months ago. I happened to look at my checking account this morning, and surprise, I've been charged $65 by Massage Envy! For the membership that I no longer have! I called and the girl who answered, while very sweet, couldn't tell me why. She said that my membership expires on May 24 and that maybe it auto renewed and that's why I was charged. So the membership I no longer have has auto renewed, and a month early at that. Perhaps it's the extension that will expire on May 24 but regardless, I should not be charged for anything. I'm now waiting for a manager to look over my account and call me back. I'm giving 2 stars because there is nothing wrong with the massages, I just really regret having signed up for the membership. And while the staff is very nice, they can't keep track of paperwork, tell me when my membership expires, etc. Lesson learned. And how ironic that something that's supposed to be relaxing has turned out to be so stressful. read more

I came here with my friend who has a membership at 9pm, we had to wait a week and a half for these appointments, we came in and the lady was rude seemed annoyed we were there even though we had reservations. When we got back to our rooms the lady came back and was talking to me and asked if I was sick I said I had a normal raspy voice as always and I was fine, she then left the room and came back and said her manager said she couldn't massage me because I was getting sick, I stated to her I was not sick and would like to speak to this "manager" however no manager showed the other massage therapist came and ask me what was wrong I said I wasn't sick and would like my massage she said ok 5 minutes later the very rude girl from the beginning (the receptionist) came back and said there was going to be no massage I stated to her (this being the third person I told this to) I wasn't sick at all and her response was to look at the clock (now 9:20pm) and say "well it's late for a massage anyways". Having had to wait almost two weeks for these appointments and basically because they wanted to leave early being told to come back a different time was the most unprofessional thing Iv ever encountered, there was no manager there for me to even talk to it was three people who didn't want to stay their shift and the leader was the young rude receptionist, terrible customer service and a waste of time. read more
