However, my boyfriend is a member and transferred one of his massages to me, so I thought, why not. I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and tried it out. Took the membership for me and my husband in december 2025 but due to work commitments we were unable to book appointments each month. At the time of enrollment, I spoke to the manager about if we are unable to book appointments and then there is accumulation of credits is it ok to freeze for some months and use the credits and start again, to which the manager had completely given me the assurance of that being possible. I have called the front desk to freeze my ac until for future date as i haven't been able to use any credit but now the girls at the front desk who answers the call told me that i can't use my credits. I asked them to connect me with the manager for which i haven't heard back from the manager. Clearly the girls at front desk aren't doing their jobs right. I also had similar situation earlier where I messaged them to put me on schedule for facial, but they didn't and I went there on the time and i was not in their system had to come back as there was no other availability. Although I am very thankful to have received a firm massage, I have many concerns for the Naperville South location. Firstly, I arrived on time and was in the massage room by 10:58 am. I requested a whole body massage, and I only was massaged on my back and neck. The massage then stopped at 11:49am, not a full hour whatsoever. After telling the woman at the front desk that my massage was only 50 minutes, she did nothing but smile politely and offered no acknowledgment or apology. I realize now I should've been more outspoken about my disappointment of the massage itself, but it's highly concerning that the front desk has little to no ability to address customers' concerns appropriately. read more

I got a $100 gift card for a massage. I booked a massage at a local Massage Envy. Went in, got a great massage, and they said there was a 0 balance on the card. I called my friend who purchased the card at the Naperville North location. She sent me her receipt from her Discover card showing she paid $100. They still charged me $100 in addition the the $100 she paid for the gift card. I was told that I had to pay and they will "work it out" and refund me the money. I'm upset that I had to pay for my birthday massage. I showed that my friend paid-and I paid, and they still wouldn't let me use the card. A VERY UNSATISFACTORY experience. read more

I am in the process of canceling my 12 month "membership". I called to speak to the manager who is apparently the only person able to do these cancellations (which according to the manager, LEAH, is impossible) last Saturday, January 7th. She wasn't in and the woman that answered my call wrote down a message for her to call me Monday. Monday and Tuesday came and went so I called again this morning. I was told she was on conference calls and she would call me back. This was around 9:15 AM. I didn't receive a call back, and decided to call again at 12:45pm I was on hold two different times for five minutes each. I had a meeting at 1 PM so I had to hang up. She returned my call around 1:30 PM, but I was still on my zoom meeting. When I called her back, she told me about seven times that since I had initialed and signed, Massage Envy assumes that we know what we're signing. I asked if the person that was signing me up was supposed to go through any of it with me while I am doing the initialing and signing and yes they are. The day I signed was a Friday or Saturday. I was at the counter where you check in and out with two other "members". There were two employees behind the counter. The woman that was helping me was definitely distracted and answered the phone twice, then someone had to get into her computer, so we both waited while that person did that. The manager said that there's no way to cancel a 12 month membership then brought up, some thing about being able to sign a six-month membership. I was never told about a six-month membership. She definitely backed her employees and in a very condescending way made me feel like I was stupid and wrong. I am still in the process of trying to cancel this. I do know I won't be returning and I won't be recommending this place. Communication is terrible and so is management. As of this morning, 1/12/23, the mgr (Leah) canceled my membership. read more

A few months ago this location would not allow me to pause my membership as my son is currently in treatment for leukemia. I had to let it go and continued my payments and I've been paying every month for many years. Last weekend my debit card was stolen. I've been waiting for my new card to arrive in the mail. I received a call from Sam tonight telling me my account was suspended and if I want to keep or make any appointments I need to pay immediately. It was an honest mistake that my payment is 3 days late - but to jump to the extreme without any notice or warning my payment was missed and leave a message informing me of this threat without gathering information from me, is unacceptable. I will drive an hour rather than give this location my business. It's useless calling corporate too. They didn't do anything to help me in my last predicament with this poorly run location. read more

BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT sign up for recurring memberships with Massage Envy I am writing to share a negative experience with both your customer service and your process overall. I was recently a patron at your location in Naperville (South) located at: 2720 Showplace DriveSuite 100Naperville, IL 60564. I tried to deal with the manager at that location "Sarah" and she was both trite/condescending and rude trying to get an understanding of why my card continued to be charged despite us attempting to put my girlfriend's membership on hold. We were charged for $400 of massages we were unable to use prior to the cut-off date that was buried in your contract paperwork. Facts: -Your front desk people at this location never informed me that there was no way to pause the account and still use charged massages when I signed up -The fact you have to use all of the massages already charged for before a certain time was also not communicated to me when signing up -I was never told that I had to go through a formal process to pause the account so my card continued to be charged while she was not going for the service -Your in location sign up process is not transparent and your managers are rude. **If they manage to credit me for the massages I will amend this warning but thus far they have not done so and I have not heard from the corporate ops team.** read more

Update as I reached out to see if I can transfer my membership to a more local franchise and unsurprisingly they never contacted me nor did they communicate that the vouchers they gave me was particular to only their location. Its over rated. Facility is VERY NICE, and my wife got me in on Father's Day....but the treatment was just ok. I have had many BETTER massages.....I had heard from other massage therapists that they start at Massage Envy and when they get good they move to "better" spas....and I believe it. The first time massage is $49, then the next is $78 - OR you can join their "club". $59/month gets you one "free" massage, and you get other monthly massages for $39....sounds great if the treatment was great.....but don't you wonder how the therapists can make any $$$? I've been to this location a few times in the past and enjoyed it. I recently had issues booking an appointment with a transferred massage from a family member. The woman (who's name I did not get unfortunately) who took my call was pretty rude. For someone who has worked in hospitality for over five years and retail five years prior to that, I knew her service was far from polite. She told me that my request to search for the transfer that was gifted to me was "a very difficult process" while loudly sighing. She then asked me what the person's name was who gifted it to me and it slipped my mind as many other things do...I asked her to give me a moment and she whispers "how does she not know her cousins name..." under her breath. If she really wanted to say something rude, she could've at least muted the phone so I wouldn't have to call her out on it. Not cool. After she tried to cover it up with a giggle, I hung up and decided to book elsewhere. Don't speak negatively about a customer while you're on the phone with them. Secondly, for a business that specializes in relaxation, why would you make your customer feel like they're "difficult" when making requests. Your job is to take care of the after all. For reference; I called 12/21 at 10am. The second woman I spoke with to cancel around 10:30am on the same day was much nicer. read more

Had a terrible spasmed neck, Tina was a great therapist, I didn't think 1 90 min session would be able to give me relief. She did it! It's been great for days now, I plan on making back before it gets that bad again. Very satisfied. Definitely recommend her. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT! The contract locks you into recurring payments regardless of how frequently you use the service and their process makes it very difficult to cancel - even when you're no longer locked in. You must go into the store to request a cancellation, and then the helpless staff cannot really help you because the manager is the only person able to cancel a membership in their system. The staff is very quick to tell you the manager is "in a meeting" and that you must wait for her to call you later. Then after you receive a call later from the impatient manager, you are told to wait for an email with a form you must print, sign, and return before your cancellation is processed. And then to boot, they tell you "It takes 10 days to process the cancellation, meaning if there is a payment due within the 10 days, it will go through." SO THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD UP TO 10 days after you request cancellation! If they were into good service, then they would simply validate your identity and then process the cancellation with a smile. But they aren't. The business model is clearly about getting credit cards locked into recurring payments, and then making it difficult to leave. Massages are just how they draw you into giving your credit card number. The massages are fine, but I have no reason to think they're any better than a massage you can get anywhere else. So do yourself a favor and go to one of their nearby competitors. I know there are 2 or three other choices within five minutes of this South Naperville location. If enough people do this, then perhaps they will make some positive changes. read more

Do not sign a contract!!!!! We used to be able to transfer some appointments from my husbands account to mine. This is no longer allowed. We found that most times he called to make appointments the had no one available. We currently have 40 sessions we have not used!!!I was told I could transfer to gift cards for $10 each. That is not possible unless you give the persons name and information. I will never refer this company!!! They clearly do not care about the long term customers keeping them in business. read more

I'm a fan. I've been here a handful of times in the past since my mom used to be a member and she would share her unused visits with me, but today was my first time back in quite some time. It's my 27th birthday and I'm officially in my LATE twenties, so I figured it was a good idea to relax a little and take care of my aging bod :) I had a gift card (xmas gift compliments of my wonderful husband), so I booked an hour long massage. I was mostly going for relaxation but I've also been experiencing some pretty bad neck and shoulder pain. This was the first time I've gone into a massage with some aches and pains, so I have to say it wasn't the most relaxing massage I've ever had. The time she spent on my shoulders and neck were pretty painful, but that's not her fault. She asked me how the pressure and the temperature of the bed was, which was much appreciated. Positives: - I always feel comfortable (and not awkward) when I get a massage here - I'm not a member, but their club membership and first timer specials seem like pretty good deals. - The staff genuinely seems to want to take care of you and make sure you have a pleasant experience. - They give suggestions on how to move forward like to drink lots of water, let you know often you should come in, any other remedies to try for complete wellness - I've never had a bas masseuse. Some better than others, yes, but never a bad experience. Cons: - I booked my appointment online and waited 2 days and never got a confirmation. What's up with that? I finally had to call and was able to schedule my appointment, but the times were limited. - Cost. $49.99 if you're a newbie and want an hour long massage, then it jumps to $79.99 if you're a returning customer. YIKES. That's a jump for me. Really wishing I wasn't so honest in telling them I had been there before (just under my maiden name), because then I would have saved some serious dough. In my opinion you should reward returning customers! Regardless, it's been my massage spot for years and I enjoy the familiarity. Plus, I don't go regularly. It's more of a treat thing for me, so I'm okay with splurging now and again. read more

The therapists and the staff are wonderful. I have my favorite, but have gone to others when she wasn't available. I've always received a quality massage, and the people are always very nice. And the price is right! There have been a few times where scheduling got messed up, but that happens I suppose. The reason for the mediocre rating relates to their membership club. My husband and I are both members. A few times we've had some issues with our membership. We can never get the answers we're looking for, and the one time I contacted corporate (about 4 months ago), I NEVER got a response. Not even to this day. We're going to use up what we have stored on our membership (skipped a few months, but still paid, so they're banked), then cancel our membership. I'll miss going, but their membership business practices just aren't something I choose to deal with. read more

I'm a huge fan of massage therapy, but I am not a fan of this chain. I had talked to friends and coworkers about this chain with mixed results. One person had already gone through 3 therapists because once they found someone they liked, that person left for greener pastures, however she was stuck there because of her membership. The massage I received was average at best. I was pressured into purchasing the membership at every step of the process. That alone made it hard to enjoy my experience. The decor was nice at least. If you don't care about the quality of your massage and are planning to get a massage a month for a year then this place may be for you. Otherwise I'd keep looking. This is my #1 favorite place to come for facials and massages. You can find it by locating the Showplace movie theater or Biaggi's Italian restaurant. This shop is in the strip mall area immediately behind Biaggi's if you're looking from Rt 59. Parking is street parking or across the street on the Biaggi's parking lot area. The front desk staff is always courteous and always busy. They're able to balance folks coming in and folks checking out and be as professional as possible at all times. The waiting area is enough to hold folks waiting for massages, or through the doorway towards the facials side for those waiting for facials, so there's never a "crowded" feeling. The massage therapists are as varied as they are excellent. There are different types of specializations that each one has, based on their prior experience, studies, and likes. Some will have very heavy/deep massage expertise, while others are holistic and could provide stretches/yoga advice, and yet others can modulate between soft to medium to deep. I just love having so many options, but I have my favorites too! It's great being able to make an appointment for the same day, and know anyone who's available will do a great job. By the way, the subscription is awesome! Only $59 a month and you can get a facial or a massage, then any additional massages/facials for that month are $39 and/or you can pay the difference if your service is a longer one or a special treatment. The facials, I've only had with one esthetician here, but she's so amazing, she's all I'll ever need--and after about 8 years of going to many places for facials, let me tell ya, I'm way happy to have found my holy grail esthetician. The products they carry here complement the services perfectly: Murad skincare products, and Bio Freeze for those aching muscles. The massages complement my chiropractic treatment elsewhere perfectly. The first time I came here over a year ago was because of back and leg pain due to my having fallen down a flight of stairs with black ice. Discovering Massage Envy, and this location in particular, has been a total silver lining for me. read more

I bought a prenatal massage for my wife today. She went in and got there 5min early to fill out paperwork. The staff was having technical issues and they didn't start massaging my wife until 10min into her scheduled time. They ended up docking 10min from her because of this. Also my wife went there to relax and get calm before her due date in a few days and the therapist she had left the lights on and was talking to her the entire time. I have been seeing Katie for some time now. She is an excellent massage therapist. She really listens to what I need. She does great deep tissue massage and when I leave there, I Always feel better than when I first arrived. Katie really cares about her clients. She makes sure the bed is just the right temperature. Very disappointing to see how they treat customers...prepaid for 2020, unable to use due to covid, would not do anything to help - basically tough luck that I pre-paid them in advance; won't auto freeze during covid times, demand that I request & fill out paperwork every 2 months...manager not very helpful, and hangs up in middle of conversation!! read more

I have been to this location a number of times now and did do the membership option but unlike the other reviewers I didn't feel pressured into it nor have I ever felt pressured to buy any of the add-on services or products they sell. Granted I only do massages there as I go somewhere else for my facials but I have always felt comfortable and stress free. I have never experienced a situation like I did today. We had 2 massages booked and wanted to change them to the next day. They made the appointment and then out of the blue stated that we have to pay 50% towards today's massages that were changed to tomorrow. They held the appointments with my CC, however, the person who took the reservation NEVER mentioned a 50% charge nor was this in writing. Clearly we cancelled the massages, and called our bank about this and disputed the charges. This is terrible customer service and price gouging. Nice job Massage Envy. You lost 2 good customers that love getting massages and the fact that during this Pandemic your trying to hit the consumer twice. I have never experienced this. read more

I mentioned a few areas and a full body massage but never highlighted my archilles tendon on my right foot since a few MTs had massaged it but the sharp pain was still there after the massage.
