I had a gift certificate from a family member who had passed away and Missouri city location had hung up on me and been so rude. The staff at the Pearland location was above and beyond. They gave me a discount and help me out. I got a massage this weekend. It was amazing. Sam was my massage therapist I had a great time they were checking in on me the whole time. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES Purchase a MASSAGE ENVY MEMBERSHIP!!!! Be warned!!! This location in particular has 2.5 stars for a reason!!! I have been coming to this location for 5 years consistently ive been a member for many years prior, but after today i will never be a massage envy customer again. I am extremely upset and will outline all of the events that took place in the best most cohesive way that i can in this very moment. On Feb 15th i had a scheduled appointment with a massage therapist named Jeanette. Prior to coming in i called because i wasn't feeling well. To prevent from having to reinvent the wheel i will post the email that i sent to the corporate office after reaching out to them just 10 minutes after leaving the establishment on the 15th (( email ----- I recently returned from overseas and woke up yesterday with diarrhea nausea and a headache. I called massage envy to inform them of my feeling under the weather and asked if they would allow me to cancel my 2:30 appointment with Jeanette, i was told that regardless of my illness I would be charged 50 percent.  This rule to me is absurd , callus, reckless and lacks concern for your employees and customers. I informed the lady on the phone that if i was still going to be charged then i was still going to come to my appointment. I am a 100% disabled veteran and my appointments are both medically necessary and a expense that isn't exactly a financial ease for me. So losing money to receive nothing isn't exactly a luxury i care to embark.  The woman that answered told me it wasn't a policy she agreed with but that it was indeed the policy of Massage Envy.  Upon arriving the woman i spoke to on the phone was sitting between two other ladies. I asked to speak to a manager. I was informed that the only person in charge was currently at lunch and would return sometime after my appointment began. I then re inquired about the above mentioned policy and all three ladies confirmed that it was indeed the rule. I was then checked in and waited to be called. When Jeanette called me I explained to her how i was feeling and how i felt about the policy. Instead of simply telling me that she would speak to the front desk and see if she could assist me, she immediately began berating me. She condescendingly asked me if i came to get her sick repeatedly. I tried to explain to her that i called ahead of time. She then told me she was going to talk to the front desk and left me in the room  to get  undressed.  I was in tears at this point. It was like she was taking it as a direct aggressive action against her personally.  When she returned to the room she, with an attitude told me the session would be comped and she closed the room door not before saying that because of me she would need to do a full deep cleaning to her room now. When i got to the front desk Jeanette was there talking about me with the three ladies. I was terribly embarrassed and couldn't understand why she was being so rude to me. She went on to say that she wasn't going to be getting paid and also repeated that she had to deep clean her room and couldn't see anymore customers that day because of me. She also said she was going to be losing money and that she could see couldn't see customers until she got a covid test.  While i can understand her frustration with the situation, I couldn't wrap my brain around the down talk, intentional rudeness and lack of concern regarding my frustration and discomfort but only directly worried about her money. I have been regularly seeing Jeanette for 5 years. After yesterdays experience i would formally like to cancel my Massage Envy membership as of today. I wish to be reimbursed for any additional credits i have and would like any and all of my future appointments canceled. I am appalled at how i was treated as a long time  customer and i never want to (( Due to yelps text/character restriction, the remainder of my review will be screenshot and posted below in pics 1-5)) My next call will be to the state board. read more

The reason I'm giving this location such a low rating is not because of the facility or massage itself. Rather, it's because of an overbearing manager who has no problem stressing clients AFTER their massage. After my massage yesterday, I approached the desk to check out. The man at the desk didn't ask how my massage was, but did ask if I wanted to become a member. While I find the question annoying every time I come in, I know everyone is just doing their job. I smiled and said, "No, thank you." "REALLY!? You don't want to become a member?" Still with a smile, but a little firmer, I said, "No, thank you." Sarcadtically, he said, "So you're going to pay $180 and just walk out and never come back?" Still smiling, but being intentional in sounding tired, "Yes." "Oh, don't say that. Why don't you want to be a member?" "I had a membership years ago. I'm good. I'm not getting a membership." "Oh, so you don't want to talk about it?" "No. And I'd like to enjoy the after effects of my massage and not be harassed into getting a membership." "Oh, no, I don't want to harass you. Holiday plans?" I was so annoyed that I was tight all over again. I started coming to that massage envy because I moved to Pearland and it was the closest facility. However, I immediately decided that it was worth the extra 15 minutes of driving to go back to using Milk + Honey Spa in Houston. In fact, I went later that day to actually destress and not be bullied after enjoying services. They appreciated the $399.95 I spent in services and products and actually told me to be safe getting home, rather than grilling me. Yesterday will likely be my last time using that Massage Envy, perhaps any one. If the goal is to relax, aggressive sales tactics show a lack of commitment to customer service. I'd also suggest emotional intelligence and customer service training for that gentleman. I come out of sales and am paid for sales training. His tactics are counterproductive. read more

The staff are friendly, but therapist skill is hit or miss, and the good ones are hard to book. Received multiple appointment cancellations in a row. The hoops they make you jump through to cancel a membership are ridiculous; in this day and age, there is zero reason you can't print out paperwork for me at the front desk, or let me do it online. I made a mistake and I rescheduled my appointment. So yes I made a mistake . I called and left a message for someone to call me and never got a call. So I called and I told the person what I had did and she said that my appointment was still good . Well I arrive and was told that she made a mistake and looked up the wrong number . So no appointment. They could have called me to tell me this before I arrived . I know the former desk doesn't care but I'm sure the masseuse who gets the tip would be upset !! They have good facials, but you are locked in for a year. Also, the customer service from the people in the reception is not that good. They have high turn over so they never know who you are. They have canceled appointments due to something and I have had to lose a day because I don't have time to stop everything for a facial. Now if you cancel, you are charged even if it was a mistake. Nobody is wearing masks either... I pay for service monthly but no one will wear a mask which goes against CDC guidelines. I was not impressed by how I felt after my massage. I thought it would be nice and relaxing, but instead of just listening to the quiet music to relax, she talked the whole time. Very nice lady, but I would have preferred no talking. Also I thought it would include massaging my face and head which she didn't do. I didn't say anything because my hour was up and would charge more for additional time. I didn't feel relaxed when I left. I actually felt like I wasted my money. I've enjoyed my massages with Les and Stephanie at this location. Both do a great job if you're really tight and stretching you out as well as getting those knots out. Scheduling has been easy and I've never felt that they were pushy with selling the membership. I did end up getting a 3-month membership where you pay for all three months up front and have access to the three hours for massages all at once. You have three months to use up those hours. They don't keep your credit card on file since it's just a one-time payment. So no need to cancel or have to deal with any type of termination notice. Just make note of when your subscription is up and make sure that you don't wait until the last day because the day you think may not be included. Like I got my membership on 4/20. I had to use my massage hour credits by 7/19, 7/20 would be too late. If you opt in for emails, they tell you when special days are. There was a member appreciation day recently where members who booked on that day got a free enhancement of choice as well as some snacks in the relaxation room while waiting for the appointment time. read more

The manager Scott is horrible and basically accused me of lying when I told him that when I called in to let the staff know that I was diagnosed with Covid that morning, also there were tornado's touching down in this area; therefore, I would not be able to make my appointment (I even stated I would triple mask if needed to not be charged). I was told by the person on the phone "no do not come in, you WILL NOT be charged". Scott said that in the note on my account it stated that the person on the phone told me I would be charged- not TRUE! Even after I explained it all to him- he was condescending and proceeded to explain their policy and that he had been a manager for 4 years (hello did I mention I have been a member for over 15 YEARS- that trumps your knowledge). All i can stay was it was my very first time getting l and i can say I will be trying to come and get a message every month. Greg my massus was amazing. He went over everything with about what body parts I felt comfortable with him touching, and on the iPad they have you feel out when you first get there, he explain to me what some of the body parts was, and that was very helpful to me. The lady's at the front desk was very helpful and they, helped me set up me an account so I can come as a regular and dont have to pay as much for a massage. Got an email that my card was declined, called bank, they never charged it, called massage envy and for the THIRD time their system mysteriously lost my card and reverted back to a card they SWORE they deleted over two years ago. They tried to say that's the card that's been charge in past and verified with the bank that was indeed a lie. They are careless with your credit card info and lie about delete it old cards. I don't think my 14-hour day qualified me for what I can only describe is the most relaxing and on-point massage I have EVER received. I feel like I've been in the exhorsist as I my neck and shoulders are so relaxed I think I could turn my head around. And who is responsible for this incredible feeling? Cheryl. Yes, I think this masseuse is sent from heaven. I am looking forward to coming back down to long, LONG hours of work if getting a repeat great massage is my reward. Horrible service from making an appointment to the massage itself. They have canceled my appointment without notifying me. I arrived to be told, that therapist called off. Never recorded a call. I have had to wait, only to be created by my therapist while she is on her cell phone. She then continued to talk another 10 minutes and told me to just go in and lay down. They start late but make sure they stop 5 mins till. They also do not open on time. And do not post anything to announce why. Today for example, I stopped by at 10am and the doors are locked and lights out. And no notice. I guess I'll try another location or just stop my membership. read more

Have been a member for several years. Generally pleased with the massages I receive there. Some therapists are of course, better than others. Not at all pleased with the management/front desk. On multiple occasions, I have been charged incorrectly and had credits disappear. Just today, I had booked a 90-minute session. It was confirmed by phone 24 hours in advance. I arrived and there was no record anywhere of my appointment. They said that they didn't know what happened and that they had no open appointments for me. The only thing they could do was add "points" to my account so that they next time I came in for a 90-minute session, they would comp me for 30 minutes of it. Considering switching to Massage Heights, where I hear the customer service is better. read more

Good place to get a massage. Both my husband and I have the annual package, but we tend to forget to use them! We each have about 20 that have rolled over month to month. You don't lose them as long as you keep enrolled. I would suggest using Autumn if you can get her. She is a wonderful masseuse who really encourages and shows you how to relax! Israel is also very good. He's a small guy, but he has powerful hands. I can't wait for my next massage. I really do feel rejuvenated after I have one. read more

Definitely gone downhill in the past few years. The quality of therapist and the people scheduling the appointments have been very disappointing. Most recently my family and I were all scheduled for 2 hour massages. They even called and confirmed a 2 hour appt. Lo and behold, an hour in the therapist is finished and I find out they messed up and only scheduled me for an hour. Fun times waiting around for everyone since they couldn't get their scheduling right. There are plenty of locations in town that I have never had issues with. Went in to get my first prenatal massage to relieve some lower back pain and had a wonderful experience. Ms. Sholamin (sorry if I misspelled her name) was quite delightful and provided just the right amount of medium pressure that I was looking for to give me some relief. For all you pregger women wondering, prenatal massages are different than regular ones as you have to actually lay on your side rather your back while getting massaged (run if the masseuse tries to make you lay on your back - especially after the 4th month of pregnancy.) I was given plenty of pillows to strategically place between the legs and in front of me while being massaged and it was heavenly. Think I'll be looking into a monthly membership to keep this pampering going while my little one continues to grow in the oven. ;-) read more

I spoke with the assistant manager Patrick which refused to allow me to speak with an owner or anyone above him. They told me that I had a restricted account there with them when I have never been a customer of massage envy a day in my life. After I have a got them to understand that that restriction was placed as an error my wife called back and was told to book at a different location because they would not see me. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I recently moved to the Pearland area and had a surgery earlier in the week. In an effort to relieve some of the pain, I looked into booking a massage at Massage Envy. My first thought was that $120 for 60mins was kind of pricey, but I took my chances-BIG MISTAKE. My appointment was booked for 9am on Saturday morning. The morning of, I put Massage Envy into my GPS and there were two options, I tried to call for clarification, but the spa doesn't even open until 9am so there was no way of confirming the address. I tried to check if I had been sent a confirmation email.. nothing; so I took my chances and went to the location on Pearland Pkwy. Well of course that wasn't the right one, so when I get there the receptionist gives me the phone# and address of the Smith Ranch location. I call the manager (Scott) while I'm on my way and explain the situation to him and he has ZERO empathy. He tells me that there's a 24hour cancellation window and that I am only going to get whatever time is left once I arrive at the right location (which was about 30mins) and will still be charged 100%. When I finally get there, I rush in and my massage begins at 9:30am. The massuse (Claudia) stoops, and I look at my clock and its only 9:50am!! Now why would you stop my service 10minutes early if you already knew I was trying to make up for lost time?! Needless to say, I will not be back. I am new to Pearland. I called my local location and asked for the most booked therapist. I was referred to Janette. She is amazing at what she does. I was tempted not to post a review for fear of her getting even more bookings. However, everyone should be lucky enough to have a fabulous massage. She makes you feel at ease and focuses on the sore spots to ensure you leave relaxed. She loves what she does and that comes through in her work. I was very disappointed with my membership. It was always difficult to schedule a massage. After trying several therapist finally found one that knew what she was doing. She was never available the rest of them were not good at all. I would not suggest purchasing a membership. I even asked if I didn't like my massage can I get a discount or credit. I should not have to pay for horrible service. One of them acted like she didn't want to touch me. Another talked the entire time. The last time I was there someone was talking in the room next to me for my entire massage. Once you cancel your service. They make you use your balance of what you haven't used in two months.
