I DID contact the store AND Corporate and I was offered the "unique" opportunity of downgrading my membership - I could save a "whole" $10 doing that! They do not appreciate your business in any way. I have been a loyal member for 15 years until recently. They decided to terminate my current contract and charge me as a brand new customer with a 50% rate increase. Now I keep being told that they are justified in doing so, but what about us??? I purchased and continued pay religiously and on time a contract that said my rates wouldn't go up. I did nothing wrong and now have to pay an additional $30 a month just so I don't lose the accumulated massage hours. How am I supposed to go in there to try to use all these massages up and still have a pleasant attitude AND have them expect me to tip as well? I have been coming to this location for years and I had my regular technicians I use. Charles left so I had to give someone else a try and Denis did not disappoint. I even like he put a covering over my eyes during the massage when I turnt over on my back so the light wouldn't be in my eyes, eventhough it wasn't that bright. I will definitely be using him again. I'm not as particular with the technicians who do my facial as they constantly have new ladies doing the facials. It would be unfair not to share my massage experience at Massage Heights. I've been looking for a new place to get a massage for a while now. My last place was way over on the Northside. With gas prices, I just really needed to find a place closer to my area. I tried out Massage Envy before...it was just okay. In a pinch and knowing that I would have Labor Day weekend off, I was able to make an appointment with Massage Heights on my day off. I came as directed a few minutes prior to the appointment time, but that was because I completed consent forms online prior to the appointment. I asked for a male masseuse for my appointment, and Charles didn't disappoint! Soft spoken but friendly, Charles shared with me where to place my belongings gave me plenty of time to prepare for the experience and went to work. I liked that he tested out the pressure before really starting, and from there, he knew what to do. No awkward conversation had to be held-I just enjoyed the time, and before I knew it, time was up. I almost wished I had enough money for a 90-minute massage! I probably laid on the table an extra 5 minutes just to take in my massage and forced myself to get up because it was a dang good massage! I made sure I cash tipped him going out the door. The massage was so good I would have booked a monthly package for maybe 6 months, but Massage Heights only offers a 12 month commitment for the discounted price of 79.99, which is the introductory first timer price. You only have two weeks ro decide to come back and sign up for the deal but that's way too much of a committment for me right now so had ro decline at the time but I truly wish I could get a monlyy massage form Charles. There are plenty of massage spots here in Houston and reviews are always mixed, but in order to find a gem sometimes you have to take a chance and I am so glad I did! I needed a same day appointment due to an overworked back muscle and I was able to book online with Massage Heights of Pearland. Upon arrival, the lobby was bright , clean, and smelled amazing. When checking in, The front concierge ladies were so sweet and made sure all my details and needs were correct for the therapist. I booked a 60 min massage with Porshea. She was knowledgeable and experienced. She asked me questions about my concern areas and gave recommendations of after care. Her technique was firm yet gentle and she was able to get a deep massage without the normal "pain" that comes with it. She was great with her time management and was able to massage my whole body. I left feeling rejuvenated and most of all the pain in my sore muscle was relieved. Check out was a breeze and no one was pushy about signing up for membership. My experience was a fantastic one and it was just what I needed. I will be returning for a 90 min due to some other trouble spots I need worked on. read more

Well I booked this place for my 73 year old Mom. I gave instructions that directions be given to the therapist that specific time be given in her neck and shoulder area. We booked for a 1 hour massage. My mother is extremely disappointed. She felt the therapist didn't spend much time at all on the neck and just rushed through the body. The pressure was very light and my mother wanted her whole neck and shoulder massaged. She wanted more pressure but the therapist refrained from doing so. The therapist told her that since we didn't really book for a longer time she couldn't spend too much time on the neck area and moved to other parts of the body. I am confused. We are paying. Why couldn't some more time be spent on the neck area and less time on other parts of the body? I am not saying all the therapist here are horrible. That is not the case. Plenty of good ones. But I chose to have Diane and she apparently has a lot of experience. But in my mother's case she wasn't the right therapist fit. Just do a little research before taking the plunge. read more

I came here because I had been experiencing back pain for awhile and it had recently gotten progressively worse. I finally decided to treat myself to a massage. I made an appointment here because it was the only place I could get an appointment asap. The ambience was nice and the front desk employees were sweet and nice. I came in early to check-in and get that out of the way before my massage. Finally, my masseuse came out to greet me and led me to my room. Table was heated so that was pleasant. This where it starts going downhill. He asked me if I'm there just got a massage just to relax or if I had certain areas I wanted addressed. I was clear and concise on what my needs were which was my back because the knots are giving me so much pain. He says okay and tells me to prep myself. He begins with the back and I also requested for a firm massage. Massage wasn't firm so I had to tell him to apply more pressure. (I have had massages before and know the difference between firm and deep tissue when I feel it.) I barely got firm. I know each masseuse has their own techniques. I told him once to apply more pressure to the back (considering I need it there most.) He ended up massaging my arms and legs which was fine, but did not focus on where I needed most. To top it off, I didn't even get my full 60-min massage. I went into the room around 9:59 and came out before then and even left the establishment before 10:59. I laid there in the bed feeling disappointed and how I just wasted money on a mediocre massage experience. I came to check out and front desk asked how was my massage. I said it was okay and she asked why was it only okay. I said masseuse didn't focus on what I needed and I'm leaving in just about the same pain as I did coming in. She says she can set me up for another massage with another masseuse with the same introductory price. I told her I'd think about it because I time schedule. Honestly, I don't think I will schedule another massage here because I'm afraid of wasting money again and time if I get another masseuse that didn't do what I needed them to do. My rating is for my massage therapists. I have been going to this massage heights location since 2011. I have gone through multiple massage therapists, some good some bad. Over the last 4 years I have booked with Russ and Deanne. Both of them are awesome. Russ is very knowledgeable of the body anatomy and muscle structure. He is able to provide relief where needed. Deanne is very attentive and offers very relaxing massage experience. They are my go-to therapists. The front desk has ups and downs like other reviews have mentioned but it doesn't matter to me as long as my therapists are available. read more

This place is horrible. I try my absolute best to not give bad reviews, but the customer service is so egregious I have been left with no choice! I received a massage from here months ago. During that time I reported a very uncomfortable experience with the visibly impaired masseuse. I was told someone would make note of it and it will be taken care of. Fast forward months later I go to book again and they schedule me with the same person. I respectfully declined sighting my past experience. The front desk person apologized and changed me right away. However a hour later a woman by the name of Tammy who called me while she was diving and talking to someone else in the car when I answered the phone, told me that she was the regional manager and they were going to have to do an investigation and she has to cancel my massage and I should get an email explaining everything. She was not empathetic nor helpful. I booked this massage because I needed it, that issue should have been taken care of months ago. I had to book somewhere else at very short notice. I expressed my displeasure with that solution and she brushed it off as if it was nothing. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. If you cannot take the time to pull over your car and address my issue nor come up with a solution that does not further penalize me then she should have never called me. I am writing a review to disclose a little more of the "fine print" when scheduling an appointment. I am not sure if it was because I was using a Groupon that I has purchased or not, but after figuring out what times work and booking the appointment, I am then asked "Do you have a credit or debit card on you that I can hold the appointment with?" I wasn't sure I heard exactly what she had said so I asked again. And again, same question, "do you have a credit or debit card......?" So, ok I'm ok with giving a card # to hold the appointment but when she wanted the entire card info, I questioned again... "So I bought a Groupon for this, why do you need all of my credit card info?" She replies, because if you are a no show, the therapist still gets paid. I realize many people probably skip/cancel at last minute, but I had already bought and paid for the session, why would she not ask for the Groupon # or something along those lines. She also told me they do not have anything to do with Groupon...huh???? IDK, seems quite sketchy so I withdrew my card and my appointment and asked for a refund from Groupon. Massage Height (not just this location) is all over Groupon. If you are not happy with Groupon, then do not offer it! read more

I went to visit my dearest friend. She decided to surprise me and treated me with a massage. When we arrived, we realized they booked us with masseurs. We requested if they could switch us with masseuses since we didn't feel comfortable with males. They told us they didn't have 2 masseuses available at the same time but we could come back one later. Since my friend didn't requested the masseuses at the time she booked the appointment , we thought it was fair to come back later. The service was great, we were in the same room so we could chat and relax at the same time. I had the hot stone massage which was so relaxing. I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday at 4:30pm so, I thought. I showed up on time to check in and the receptionist did not have me on the schedule. I showed her my confirmation and she could see it on her end but as I stated I was not scheduled apparently. I did not receive any explanation just have a nice day. She was very short with me when I asked questions and never apologized for the inconvenience. Now if I had missed an appointment, I would have been charged a cancellation fee. The thing is that I have been a membership guest here for YEARS and I'm shocked that I was treated that way. MH needs to work on treating their members better than the way that I was treated. read more

This place frustrates me. Yes, I've gotten a couple good massages here but I still haven't found the right therapist. I decided to do the 6-month membership which is a good deal if you find a great therapist. Often when I've called to schedule an appointment, the person they schedule me with ends up NOT being the person that does my massage. So irritating. Facilities are nice. So far, I like Russ the best. UPDATE 1-14-14 - I have downgraded my rating to a single star. Customer service, at least at this location, is so poor. Four times in less than a year I've shown up to my appt only to find out 5 minutes prior that some random person is going to be doing my massage. While I understand that massage therapists can get sick too, I'm pretty sure the staff is aware of the absence more than 5 minutes before my massage. And I'm not convinced that all the changes were actually due to absences. A courtesy call would be nice. Massage is such a personal thing. I tried to straighten this out with the "Retreat Director" but after 2 weeks of phone tag I gave up. Cancelled my membership. Disappointment is an understatement. I came into massage heights from a vacation from the east coast. I was excited to get a facial and relax during the hr I paid for. I had an appointment for 5pm this afternoon and arrived 4:40pm 5 minutes before they asked us to arrive. I filled in paper work and was finished by 4:50. I waited another 20 minutes until my facialist came to greet me. I did not get into the room until 5:10 and it wasn't until 5:15/5:20 that my facial began. When the facial began my face a list was friendly she quickly began my facial. And as quickly as she started was as quickly as it ended! I was done by 5:55! She customized my massage to meet the needs of my body, not some standard rub here rub there. I have massages on a regular basis & Ale was the first therapist to elevate my shoulders so that my back wasn't hunched over when I was facing down (big breasted problems). She used heat to release deep tension. Ale's elbow to wrist pull w/hand massage absolutely DEVINE!! Thank YOU Ale for an incredible experience!!! 0/5 My friends experience... Not the same. She came in for a facial that was gifted to her by her husband. At checkout the front desk lady sold her on a year contract. The front desk lady stated it would cost $59/month + $10 extra for facials. As my friend was thinking it over the clerk said "you know what you can do is add an elevation upgrading to the $69/month!". My friend said "I can budget $69/month for facials, let's do it!". The clerk never corrected her & lead her to believe that the $69 member fee was for facials. At no point did the clerk say "you still have to pay the $10 more for facials". At checkout after her 1st "member visit" she was told she had to pay $10 more. She stated that's why she upgraded to $69, for the facials. If she were told she would have to pay $10 every time she came she would have signed up for $59/month. Now she's locked in for $69/month for an entire year!! The clerk wasn't clear or transparent about the charges. She sold the $69 membership allowing the customer to believe the $10 "upgrade" included the facial fee. The front staff is very rude. Someone used my phone number on their account. This location kept calling me asking for that person despite me repeatedly saying "you have the wrong number." They even quipped "well weren't you in her yesterday? Isn't your name Dominique M****r?" Woah. Not only are they disbelieving the fact they had the wrong number, they also told me the full name of a client. I had such an amazing experience with Deanne. She immediately came into the room and made sure I was comfortable and within 10 minutes she identified every problem area and addressed it quickly. For the remainder of my time she double checked to ensure she released all of the knots (nots lol) and stretched my limbs. I was a member for a year but then I canceled my membership due to inactivity. I recently purchased the 6 month membership once again. The reason why I am giving this place a 4 star because when I tried to cancel my membership the first time, it was such a headache... It seemed like the receptionist did not have a clue about what she was doing. I had to jump through multiple hoops to get it canceled. It took about a month or 2 and endless phone calls because she had to transfer me to the manager and some days the manager couldn't cancel my membership because she had to call corporate? Not quite sure what that was about but hopefully they figure things out. *Fingers crossed* Membership pricing: Initial for the first massage is 49.99 and then monthly is 59.99. Check in: (4/5) Most of the receptionists are kind and they greet you with a smile. If you are a new client they prefer you come in about 10-15 minutes earlier so you can fill out some paperwork. Massage: (4.5/5) I've gotten multiple massage therapists. You really cannot go wrong with any massage therapist at this location. Some of my favorites are Johnny and Leslie. Being active and a side sleeper you end up with a lot of knots and you just need a good and strong therapist who is wiling to take their time to dig in and get those knots out! Options: You can add massage elevations for $20 extra. The massage elevations are: Hot stone therapy, foot scrub, and face massage. I highly recommend paying extra for the hot stone. It makes you feel like you're truly at a spa and it makes you feel relaxed. Aromatherapy-MUST GET. My absolute favorite is lavender. Facial: (4.5/5) I've gotten a few facials here. I cannot remember the female aesthetician but I do remember that her hands smelled like cigarettes... can you say GROSS? You are working on my face.. granted you probably washed your hands but smoking before your session. Please don't. I don't think she works there anymore actually, but other than that facials here are wonderful. I've been to this location multiple times. Parking is ok. Depending on what time you arrive you might have some complications finding parking. There are several businesses around. The facility is very clean when you walk in. The bathrooms are also nice a clean and have always had the appropriate toiletry items necessary. During this time they are practicing safety just like most businesses are doing. For example, they send you a reminder text just like they always have, except this time they have very specific details about what to do when you arrive. They ask that you arrive 10 minutes early. Then you have to wait in your car upon arrival and text them when you arrive. Then they will let you know when you can come inside. Customers are required to wear a mask. They don't have customers waiting in the waiting room together. The staff wear masks and of course still clean up and sanitize after each person. However, they did that even before the pandemic. The staff greet you and are very friendly. The massage therapist, Leslie (I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right), was attentive and addressed all areas of tension I had. My only complaint was that I know I booked a 90minute hot stone as I do every year on my birthday, but according to the information it was not listed as a hot stone. I did speak with the from staff about my concern and they apologized for this not being entered right. So I would suggest when you arrive to make sure you ask and make absolutely sure what you book is included in their database. I was very disappointed because I know I said hot stone since this is something I have done for the last few years on my actual birthday. I would not just take off work to celebrate my birthday and put my health at risk for a regular 90min massage without upgrades. Either way the therapist still did a good job and the staff were still very nice and continued to apologize. This has not happened before but I will know for next time. read more

Requested and received a groupon to the Pearland location as a gift. When I contacted the location for an appointment I was asked my preference...male or female. I stated "female please". Went thru availability and appointment set. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my 2 pm appointment. After waiting and watching guests enter and be shown to their rooms, at 2:20 the front desk agent told me "He would be right with me". I mentioned to her I specifically requested a female therapist. Of course there weren't any available within the next two days. I reached out twice to speak with a manager and was placed on hold over nine minutes before the phone was disconnected. Not sure if I will give them another try and am looking into transferring to another location. read more

My husband surprised me with a gift certificate for a massage here for my birthday. This was my first time ever getting a professional massage and it was awesome! I forgot the persons name who did my massage but she was really good!! She made me feel relaxed and even chatted with me (I like to talk lol) during my massage. The lighting is awesome, makes you feel comfy. I love the relaxing music playing. The facial was good! She told me a few things about how to care for my face. Now, I understand that they have to sale stuff. I was REALLY relaxed and ready to fall asleep while I was getting ready to leave. The lady at the front desk asked me if I would like to sign up for a membership. I politely said no thanks. I wanted to leave since it was my birthday and I had things to do. She kept pressuring me to sign up for a membership. That really killed my relaxation buzz. Seriously, can you just send me an email or something. I have never had a good experience here. Everyone makes up policies just to keep you around. I am a healthcare worker and was called in and couldn't make an appointment and they gave zero flexibility. It is ALWAYS some kind of issue. They have no appointment openings ever, so walk-ins not welcome and I have tried multiple therapist and most arent worth a damn or start 10 minutes late and finish 10 minutes early. I would love to cancel but I have so many credits because I can never get an appointment and they wont let me transfer them to my husband so I can cancel, which I was told that I could more than once. Save your money/credits and go to another location or just eat $300 in credits like me and cancel. Management is rude. read more

This place will SCAM you out of your money and the customer service is piss poor! I used a gift card for a facial in November and decided to get the membership. I left a $20 tip on my card, but an employee put an additional $69 tip that I didn't authorize. When I recognized the unauthorized charge, I immediately called and told the manager/lead and asked to cancel my membership as I felt uncomfortable doing business with them at that point. She told me that she'd cancel and would look into the unauthorized charge and get back with me. She never called me back! Then I got charged in December, January, and February for the membership. I called nonstop and was always told it was canceled and I'd be called back about the refund. No one called. Then suddenly the manager from November and December was no longer with the company and suddenly the manager I spoke with starting January says there weren't any notes on my account about the membership cancellation or unauthorized charges. I have been calling regularly since November and still haven't been refunded for all of the charges. The current manager claims there's nothing she can do now because the charges are out of the window of time to process a refund. They currently owe me $210 and don't seem to care to rectify the situation. Do NOT support this business!! read more

The massages are great. However, they DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MEMBERSHIP. They lied & told me I was signing on for a 3 month membership. Turns out, it's 6 months. It's been 6 months & I'm trying to cancel. Getting the run around. Their cancellation protocol: Ask to cancel. Receive a call in 48 hours to discuss cancelling (in my case, I never received a call.) Following the call, they supposedly will tell you when you can come into ACTUALLY cancel......The DEFINITION of the run around. It's BS. read more

Let's see, I have been a member here now for about 2 1/2 years. I do not know why I am barely writing a review for them. It's hard to rate them, because they seem to change therapist a lot. As soon as you get used to one, they are gone. What's up with the high turn over? Pay them better massage heights! All in all I get a pretty good massage from most therapist. I also have tons of problems with last minute reschedules (on their side) due to people calling in sick. Once or twice is understandable, but this is more often than not. I even showed up once for a morning appointment and they weren't even open! Everyone was standing around outside and they told customers to leave and they would call and reschedule.
