After having frozen my spa membership due to a hectic schedule I finally restarted it again back at the Massage Envy in Pompano Beach where I initially joined years ago. For the last 10 years I've had massages at many ME locations - such as Cooper City and 2 different Pembroke Pines locations and can truly say I've only had one or two "average" massages as most ME therapist doing an amazing job. I found at this location that the front desk booking staff quickly learned what my needs were and where able to get the right therapist for me. Crystal was polite, helpful, attentive and very caring when I called in the day before to restart my membership and was all those things and more when I arrived for my appointment. All the young ladies were very warm and made the experience pleasant. While at this spa, I took only a few photos to avoid infringing on other privacy. I can say that the facility is clean and fresh - the initial lobby is quite small - but the interior relaxation room provides a bit more space for stretching out while listening to calm soft music. In that room they offer three types of refreshing water: normal, cucumber and orange water. They additionally offer to sell and use the entire line of Murad skin care products for facials. A very high-end and effective line in my opinion. (I'll review esthetician services at a later time.) Today I enjoyed an incredible 90 minute deep tissue massage by Fred. He was professional and knowledgeable and quickly understood what my needs were. I felt so much better and very relaxed after my massage and immediately booked others for the next two weeks. Upon checking out, Crystal explained the ME rewards program which allows you to earn points towards future facials or treatments. This is a nice up sell for them and a little break on our wallets as it's easy to get motivated by the relaxed vibe of the moment. Definitely look forward to returning! read more

So, my massage was nice, and I won't give the masseus a negative review. But, despite the very friendly staff, I'm giving a negative review because after my 90 minute massage, I was super relaxed. I went to check out and the front staff tried to sell me packages for nearly 10 minutes after I told them numerous times I was not interested. I was relaxed, and they were doing a hard sell and not accepting no from the client.... Until they ran out of options and I kept saying no. I understand we all need to upsell sometimes, but I will never sign any membership after going to a place 1 time, which I explained several times. I would have come back to this location, but I don't want to be pressured into something, especially after being relaxed. It ruined my experience. read more

I truly wish I could say my experience here improved, but unfortunately it did not. Last year I was gifted a massage at this Pompano Beach location, and it was hands-down the worst massage I've ever had. The experience was anything but relaxing--starting with an aggressive sales pitch to become a member before I even got to my appointment. The massage room felt dirty, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the therapist seemed inexperienced, as if he didn't know what he was doing. I left knowing I would never willingly return. Fast forward to this year, and I was gifted another massage because my family knows how much I enjoy them. Unfortunately, this is the closest location to me. When I called to book, everything was confirmed without issue. Then, on the day of my appointment, I was contacted and told the gift had expired the day before. The woman on the phone was unbelievably rude, and when I asked to speak with a manager, she hung up on me. I immediately called my sister, who purchased the gift, to explain what happened. She contacted the Massage Envy location where she bought it, and they were shocked that this location wouldn't honor it. As a courtesy for the inconvenience and headache caused, they extended the gift another six months. I appreciate their professionalism--but it only further highlights how poorly this Pompano Beach location handled the situation. I will absolutely use the gift, but NEVER at this location. I'm coming from Washington State where they let the customer actually relax instead I came to this location without reading the reviews because it was a convenience that it was close to me so I decided to try it out thinking all massage envy organizations were the same well I was wrong. Every time I closed my eyes to rest and relax the massager was in my face talking about politics. literally, every single time! don't get me wrong. The massage itself was great but every five seconds was a conversation that was not needed especially if you see my eyes are closed and I tell you I'm going to rest. I have been a member here since 2010. The quality of service, downhill for years has reached anew low. They are rude; do not honor appointments and treat customers terribly. They cancel appointment with no notice; change appointment times, it's a dirty dark place with attitude filled poorly trained employees. They were incapable of properly training front desk as she called a couple of times to once again place card on file and once again verify appts they called back a few times for a card . They con you into signing a 12 month contract without explaining Anything. They are not responsive right away . This place is a fraud ,they prey on people that really just go to get a service and attack them as soon as they are done to sign contracts stating you have 30 days to cancel and then blow you off the minute you decide this is not for me within the time frame needed . If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I signed up for the membership Sept 2023. The massage was ok but I thought their facility was subpar. The sheets had dirt stains on them and there was an odor. Anyway, I asked the person who I enrolled I the membership with at least 3x if I could cancel and she said, "oh yeah you can cancel at anytime". LIES!! My son was in the NICU which I shared with her cuz I asked for postpartum massage. Anyway i feel like she played on my emotions at the time. I have asked to get out of that contract several times and they have refused. I have never heard of a contract that you can't break (even with a penalty). They changed my therapist twice before my appt and when I got there same story.. the woman said "I don't do deep tissue." Called day ahead to get appointment at 10:00am, showed up at 9:55 got checked in and was in the quiet room, at 10:15 went back to front desk, asked where my person was to take care of me, the person was not even there, The front desk could have at least had the common courtesy to tell me that no one was going to be there, and this is the 3rd time, this has happened, as I was leaving their person was coming in the front door. and said we can start shortly.. I was there yesterday I booked a massage and then after the massage I booked a stretch when I went into the room to stretch it started with this very tiny petite lady. I don't remember her name, but she's like turn your head to the left. Turn your head to the right Look up look down raise your arms above your head so I said to her is this stretching for beginners and she's like no this pretty normal. You're just very flexible so then she's like lay down and she put some like balls about the size of tennis balls under my back Told me to raise my arms above my head and then she said to me OK you're done after 20 minutes so I'm like wow I thought my appointment was an hour but OK I go up to the front desk. They charge me for a full hour and ask me how much of a tip I would like to leave after I said to them why are you charging me for an hour and they said the lady said you and did the session early I never did that. She lied to the front desk. They charged me. I didn't have time to get into it with them because they're not a decision-maker they don't have the authority and the manager was not present. They said the manager would call me today. I've never received a phone call for the manager And I had a pedicure to go to because I'm leaving for Rome. I don't have time to argue with them, but soon as I get back, I'm canceling my membership. I always heard bad things about Massage Envy, but decided to give it a shot last night because I had a gift card available to use. If it wasn't for that, I would have never gone there. Not my type of "spa." The manager of this location called me and told me to come in half hour early to fill out some paperwork and answer some questions. Once I arrived, the manager sat down with me and proceeded to confirm information on an iPad, that I had filled out prior to visiting. The manager began going over all my personal information out loud. I was fortunate there were no other patrons in the waiting area, who would hear all of my private business being spoken so openly. She then began to upsell me their monthly massage membership packages. She tried to push me to get add on's, even offering me to try them for free during my massage. She was nice, but it was obvious she was trying really hard to get the sale. I do not want to be pressured into signing up for a monthly memberships when I'm trying to relax at a massage appointment. I told her I was not interested, but she was pretty pushy. I do understand that employees at ME have monthly quotas to meet, but being pushy and annoying about signing up for their monthly membership plan, is absolutely bad practice. I told her I am not in town often and wouldn't make use of their membership, yet she consistently pushed. I felt very uncomfortable and pressurized. She was trying REALLY hard to get me to see the "value" in their monthly membership program. She then showed me around the "quiet area" where I waited for my massage therapist. Before my massage began, I told my therapist that I was having severe neck pain and back pain due to a very active lifestyle. The massage was the worst massage I've ever had. I frequent 5 star spas often, and know what a good massage makes you feel like during and after. I was not relaxed at all, actually I was quite uncomfortable. If I could rate my massage, I would give it a 1/10. My therapist was nice, that wasn't the problem. She did tell me if I made an appointment earlier in the day, she would have more strength to massage the knots in my back. Lol. She also ended my massage 5 minutes early. It is the day after my massage, and my neck is STILL killing me. I literally feel like the therapist just rubbed my back, not really massaged it at all. Needless to say, I will never be returning, nor will I ever recommend anyone to go to this ME location, or another. This place should be shut down! After 15+ years of patronage my fiancé and I have cancelled our memberships. The extremely poor level of front desk service and issues with AC as well as other items compelled us to choose another massage center. The owner has not called after several voice messages and email. Total disregard of customer service and follow-up. Management Arrogance is prevalent. I would not recommend this location nor Massage Envy as a whole. The only regret is losing our wonderful therapist, Megan. Look elsewhere is all I can say. Pompano Location I went at the end of May for a massage - I did authorize $24.00 for tips and I was charged $34.00 - $10.00 for enhancement when I had a coupon and enhancement that I never received so I got the coupon back. As of today, I already called 5 times to resolve the overcharge and no one had the respect to call me back! This morning my debit card was charge for my monthly fee of $70.00 when I never authorize the transaction. At the time that I did purchase the package, I gave my credit card for all transactions. The manager "D" (Dudley) was incredibly rude & unprofessional when I was scheduled by one of their receptionist's for a massage on my day off. I came in & there "wasn't a booking" for me. The front desk girl had never locked it in. Had to speak w/ "D" who was an absolute JOKE. Unbelievably rude & borderline aggressive. Could care less at how they inconvenienced me w an unofficial booking. (Their error.) Her customer service skills are at a negative ZERO. Fast forward months later. I've now since moved out of state & called to cancel membership. Had the misfortune of speaking to "D" again (who could not be bothered) w sending me the cancellation form bc "she was just on her way out." Again, incredibly unkind & "worked up" for NO REASON. I said, "So, you'll email it later?" She replied "Yes." She never did. (Of no surprise.) It's baffling that she's still employed there... Have been a member here for over five years. Have attempted to cancel my membership since Monday. Was told manager will contact me and send me the "required" cancelation form. No contact from her (Dee) on Monday. Called again Tuesday. Was told there was no message left for the manager. Manager was in another call and would contact me. No call back. No email. Sent text Wednesday morning (today) no response. Called again and was told manager is off. No one can help. Asked for owner contact information said not allowed to give out. Asked to give owner my info and have him call me. Was told oh he gives it to the manager to contact clients. Sent a follow up email today to their main email address (which manager reads ). I'm considering my membership canceled if I don't hear back by noon tomorrow. I have credits to use (within 60 days) after cancelation. Let's see how this goes. Disappointing is an understatement. I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION OR ANY OTHER MASSAGE ENVY LOCATION FOR THAT MATTER IF THIS IS HOW THEY ALL RUN THIER BUSINESS. I called and made a same day appointment for 5:00pm. When on the phone, I was only told that they needed a card on file to book the appointment time; nothing was mentioned about CHARGING THE CARD they put on file. I received a gift card for Christmas last year (I haven't had the time to make an appointment because my schedule has been so hectic). Anytime I've called same day they never have availability. I finally had a full free day and was excited that they had an opening left that day when I called. The lady I spoke with on the phone told me to get there about 5-10 minutes early to fill out forms. I got there at 4:45pm, which was 15 minutes early. When I got there I checked in and was sent over with one of the sales associates to "fill out my forms". She held the tablet the entire time while asking me the questions out loud about my service ... I've never seen this done at any other place so I'm not sure if this is "normal" for them. As she was filling out the tablet questionnaire for me, it was like she was trying to bully me into purchasing add ons for my service. She offered CBD creams, aromatherapy, etc. I could tell she was just trying to make her commission because she started with the most expensive add on at $30 and then kept going down the list. I kindly declined each one and at the end she said "WHY DON'T YOU WANT ANY ADD ONS?" UMMMM I'm sorry, but last time I checked, I didn't owe anyone an explanation for WHY I don't want something. She then told me to go sit in the "quiet room" until my massage therapist came to grab me. I kept checking the time because again, my appointment time was 5:00pm. I got there 15 minutes early to fill out the forms and was done and waiting by 5:00pm. The massage therapist came out to grab me at 5:08pm, took me into the room and asked me a few questions about what kind of massage I wanted, pressure, etc. (I thought this was the whole point of having me come in 10 minutes before my appointment time to fill out the forms)... She then told me to get undressed and get onto the massage table and she would be right back in. She probably left for about 4-5 minutes. I checked the time on my phone (since there wasn't a clock in the room) before she came back and it was already 5:15pm. I doubt she actually started the massage at that time as I still had to get onto the table and wait for her to come back into the room and get her lotions and oils ready. The massage was good, but it was nothing to brag about. I felt somewhat relaxed, which was nice for a change due to my busy work week. She then walked out so that I could get dressed. I checked my phone after getting dressed and it was only 5:53pm. I have no idea how long my actual massage time was, but it certainly was NOT AN HOUR. It was MAYBE 40 MINUTES. I then started to feel disappointed because I already knew the price of the massage was $120 for an hour, but I didn't even get 40 minutes. I went back up to the front desk and the sales associate from earlier was now checking me out (I then learn her name is Ana). She then tells me that my total was $60 since they had already charged my card up front for the 50% deposit (WHICH I WAS NEVER ADVISED WOULD BE HAPPENING). Remind you, I had a gift card I wanted to use, so I wasn't planning on using my own money at all for the service. I asked her if she could refund the card on file and charge the gift card the full amount and she said she didn't have access to do that and the manager that could do it wasn't in today. That if I wanted my card refunded I had to pay the $120 on the gift card and that the $60 refund to my card would be processed in a couple of days. I WAS NOW EVEN MORE FRUSTRATED & NOT RELAXED AT ALL. I tried to get the managers information from her so I could call them tomorrow, but she wouldn't give it to me. She then proceeded to call the manager and speak to him in another language right in front of me so that I couldn't understand what she was saying to him. She hung up with him and told me that I would be refunded within a few days and to "just call back if I don't see the refund on my card". I asked her if she could email me while I was still there so that I had it in writing that I was expecting a refund, but she couldn't provide that either. I asked who I needed to speak with when I called back to check on the refund status and she said to just ask for her and that she would "figure it out if the time comes". OBVIOUSLY THAT'S NOT THE CASE BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO PROCESS A REFUND. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I went to this location because all the recent reviews seem to be accurate. Terrible experience. Terrible customer service. read more

I would never recommend visiting this location. Which is unfortunate because they have some good therapists. If I worked here I would be livid with how they organize the appointments! It messes with your clientele and CLEARLY there's multiple issues based on the other reviews! Seems to be an issue y'all need to fix as a business! Their front office staff is SOOO incredibly unorganized and rude! I've been charged for appts I canceled on time multiple times, moved from 90 minutes to 60 minutes without being asked if it's ok. They don't ever communicate within themselves and it screws the customers over and wastes our time. I don't pay $70 a month for unorganized chaos. Will never visit this location again! I hate saying that because I loved May (not sure I'm spelling it right) But she's amazing and was really helpful with my back injury! My boyfriend and I came to this location to get a couples massage. While scheduling the appointment, there seemed to be some issues with the computer.Upon arrival to our appointment, the receptionists did not seem prepared for our session. We were in separate rooms, which was completely fine, but not what we had requested. Both David and Stephanie were exceptional and provided a wonderful experience. Well, I called to reschedule my appointment as I got a cold. I was told that I would still be deducted the service (I received it as a gift). I then said it doesn't make sense for me to come in if I had a cold but also not fair to be deducted as this was out of my control. I said well then I'll come in and wear a mask- they said fine, come in. I drove all the way to Pompano to be told they can't service me as I have a cold and they deducted the package. I will have to call corporate to see if they will make an exception. Having no recourse or contingency plans is no excuse for someone who is trying to do right by telling them they are sick. I will definitely not be going back. I have had only had bad experiences at this location. The massage therapists do not listen to what you want; they just whatever is there normal routine. One massage therapist was 30 mins late and they cut my massage down to 30 mins because of a "couple's massage" right after me. They never have hot towels so I have left covered in massage oil/lotion. I booked a facial and arrived 10 mins early. I needed to use the restroom and their restroom was locked from the inside and they didn't know how to open it. By the time of my appointment, the esthetician was not ready. After waiting 15 more mins and not a single person checked in. I asked the front desk and the supervisor says the therapist is running very late and she doesn't know why. Mind you, no apologies and no sense of responsibility for the circumstances. And this is the behavior from A SUPERVISOR of this franchise. Absolutely unacceptable. Never coming back to this franchise and I'll highly recommend you don't waste your time either. read more

First off, the therapist are great and professional. Maxine and Stephanie are wonderful. My problem is with the staff...more specifically, DEE. She should be made to take a workshop on customer relations. She was rude and off handed with me. I was "automatically renewed" for a membership I did not want. I bought a package of 6 sessions and was very CLEAR that I did NOT want a membership. I was told not to worry. I was just purchasing 6 sessions. Well after 6 months I get a charge on my CC for a session. I called and asked what the charge was for. I was told it renews every six months. Well, no one told me that when I bought the package and I never got a heads up that this was going to happen. I guess the company pressures the staff to sell memberships, something I do not want. I told Dee that they need to be more transparent and that what they do is dishonest. They have lost me as a customer. When i booked my first massage i asked for someone strong for deep tissue and they scheduled me with Chris. He did not give me a deep tissue massage. Also i asked for him to massage my glutes and my head and he did neither. Second time i booked i asked for someone else and they booked me with Stephen. Now he can give a deep tissue massage!!! His massage was excellent and very enjoyable, although it was painful. I've already gotten massages from Stephen a second time and asked for it not so deep and this massage was perfect.
