I called to cancel and guess what; it's not an option (even that the quality of service absolutely sucks) - Don't go there - not a professional establishment and a total scam. And appointment are NEVER available for times fitting normal working individual's schedule. Nothing is ever available. read more

We paid for a one-year membership and explicitly requested that it not be renewed. Despite this, we continue to be charged. This is extremely frustrating and feels dishonest. Customers should be able to trust that their cancellation requests will be honored without having to chase down unauthorized charges. Went in very excited for my 60 minute massage yesterday and came out super disappointed. My appointment was at 2pm and I arrived early due to having to update forms. I go back into the waiting room at 2pm wait about 10 minutes for the therapist to come get me so now it's 2:10. She finally comes back to get me and we head into the room and we then sit and have a consultation of my problem areas again. I told her my target areas and she asked if she spots any knots if she's in the clear to help work them out. I said absolutely! So at this point it's probably 2:15 again appt was at 2, and she then leaves for me to undress and all that. I lay there about 5 minutes waiting. So truly my actual massage didn't start until probably 2:25. The massage was pretty mediocre. Didn't work out any of my knots. Rubbed my legs for maybe 30 seconds each. Not to mention her hands were freezing! We are in negative degree weather so that's not super comfortable. The massage ended and I paid and what not. I get in my car and it's 3:06. So my massage was maybe a solid 30-35 min total. If I am paying for a 60 min massage, I expect to be rubbed for 60 min. Especially a $160 60 min massage. I was going to say something at checkout but didn't want to cause problems. After sleeping on it it really does bother me that I wasn't provided with the service I paid for. read more

Finally found my new therapist and preferred Massage Envy location! After relocating... again to Virginia, I was on the hunt to find a therapist near my house. After visiting multiple Woodbridge, Dumfries, and other locations.. "X" makes the spot here in Stafford a few minutes drive away. Massage Envy as a franchise gets a bad rap for not having "real" therapist in comparison to other places and to some extent I agreed over the years. I've been a Massage Envy member for over 10 years and despite the bad rap, I've always managed to find a skillful and professional therapist. This location is one of the best I've visited. The cleanliness and professionalism of the staff is off the charts. It is often difficult to schedule appointments so if you've found "your" therapist go ahead and book weeks in advance. read more

The Stafford location has very poor customer service, particularly Melana, the lead receptionist. I called to reschedule my appointment and was told I couldn't because it was the same day. I stated that once before I did, without issue, and she replied "well I don't know who you talked to but we don't do that at this location. If you don't make your appointment today you will lose credits." I tried to explain but she continued to try and over talk me until I said to her "let me finish and stop over talking me." I have been visiting Massage Envy for quite a few years, almost monthly and often even more frequently. A while back I switched to the Stafford location and found Shanna. She is absolutely the best. Her pressure and attention to areas needing work is wonderful. She is always super pleasant and right on time. I feel comfortable and relaxed during my massages and look forward to my scheduled appointments. I have also had the opportunity to see Amy, who is another amazing therapist. Amy's pressure is a bit more intense but she's extremely receptive to requests for a lighter pressure. She's very knowledgeable and my muscles felt like noodles after my appointments with her. Highly recommend these 2 therapists if you're looking for a massage therapist. You'll most likely want a membership because you'll get hooked! read more

Don't waste your money. You sign up for monthly massage membership and you end up just accruing massage points because there are no available appointments or the massage therapist cancels on you. Fredericksburg location is closed or temporarily closed and Woodbridge I ran into the same problem... no availability. I canceled my membership. DO NOT. I repeat do not purchase gift cards or memberships through massage envy. I was given a giftcard. I have tried on multiple occassions to use the giftcard (have been trying at multiple locations for over 6 months) and have had no luck getting an appointment. In October I reached out the Fredericksburg, VA location to schedule a massage, with an understanding there is a month to 6 week wait. When I called in October 2021 the employee told me "try again next year, we are booked for the remaining of the year." I was finally able to schedule an appointment on Friday 2/18/2022 with Amber at the Stafford, VA location. On the day of the appointment I filled out the COVID form and confirmed my appointment. I was called a few hours prior informed my appointment was cancelled. They rescheduled me for 2/23/2022 at 6:30pm with Amber. Again, I confirmed my appointment and was given the COVID form to fill out. I was then notified, again, that my appointment was cancelled. I called to reschedule to which the front desk replied "we don't have any availability." I spoke with the manager, Julie, who again told me there was no availability right now, she would contact Fredericksburg to attempt to get me an appointment there, but they also don't have availability. I did not receive a phone call back, no service was offered in return, and no solution though it was the locations problem for cancelling. The manager informed me that Amber has frequently been cancelling (FYI in case you are scheduled with her) to which I asked "why are you booking clients with her if she can't maintain her schedule?" This is horrible business practice. Massage Envy is selling gift cards and memberships with no availability, so essentially their is no product to be had. That is fraudulent business activity and I will be reporting it. I have attempted to contact corporate (as this location is not franchise) with minimal response/ prewritten paragraphs. There isn't a corporate phone number to be had on the website. I will not be using Massage Envy and will be telling others not to use their services also, since there seems to be fraudulent activity occurring by charging customers and providing no service. The front desk and the manager... are laughable They claimed my 90 minutes service was only $60.00, but yet I have an upgrade fee of $20.00. They claimed it is something like gratuity I give cash to my therapist for gratuity. I always informed the front desk that my gratuity has been handed. So, why, if my therapy was $60.00 for 90minutes, why was I charged of extra $20.00???? They are telling me something that is not making any sense at all. I need to laugh it off. I have FSA. If things are not correctly explained on the receipt the insurance will not pay. I have been going to this place for 5 years and I have never experience this type of confusion. My understanding is that the membership fee is $60.00. And if you want an extra 30 minutes that will be extra $20.00. So, total would be $80.00. With six herniated discs, my pain is pretty constant. Eve not only massaged away the stiffness, she released so much tension, I was totally pain free for days. She also did something to my knee, giving me more flexibility than I've had in years! The reception staff is helpful and friendly, and although they try to sell you on these wellness packages, they aren't pushy about it. And when the massage is over, they don't hustle you out. You get a cup of tea and encouragement to sit and relax before you have to go out and face the world again. Wonderful! read more

They day of the appointment they called to say one of the therapists was sick and that they needed to cancel. They did not provide options at either their location or the one in Fredericksburg. Let me start by saying this has nothing to do with my therapist. Management needs to provide a 10 to 15-minute cushion between sessions so that every customer gets their full hour. There's nothing worse than getting 40 to 45 minutes for an hour session. If a previous customer is running behind or takes a little extra time and then the therapist has to prep the room for their next customer it cuts into their session. On the form I circled wanted a medium to trim massage. I asked her to increase the pressure and it was not! I was told by the receptionist she only does light to medium. I mean did they not see my paper work? How am I suppose to know what she does or not? Also didn't message my back or shoulders. The message therapist never even asked me, how is my pressure? I am highly disappointed at the customer service/mis-information I received at Massage Envy. I was quoted one price for a special that was being ran today for facials on the phone. I was told by one staff member that I would have to pay 25 dollars to cancel my appointment because it was a same day cancellation. When I arrived I was told that because I wasn't a member any longer that I would have to pay 50 dollars. The rate for a facial for a non-member is 100 dollars. The employee who took my payment and explained what was going on was lackluster at best. This information should have been told the day before when I made the appointment for today. Because I wouldn't have made the appointment. I will no longer patronize this establishment. It's very unfortunate because prior to this incident I was pleased for the most part with the services and products from Massage Envy. The best in town...staff is professional and responsive. I have been with Massage Envy since 2007 and travelled to many states with the military. I have been a part of numerous locations and rank this one in my top 3. Eve and Laura are my favorite therapist here. They are willing to adjust their style to meet your need. Always being too self conscious to try it, I have never had a professional massage. After holding on to a gift certificate that my husband gave me last year, I finally treated myself and a friend to massages. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable I felt at Massage Envy in Stafford. It is a clean, modern environment, they make you feel welcome, and my massage therapist, Regina, was lovely. She and I hit it off and spent the whole time talking about our beloved animals- I probably should have relaxed quietly instead of being a chatty Cathy, but it was a nice experience anyway. The price seems high for walk-in massages- $100- but if you become a "member" and get a monthly massage, the price drops to $55 per. Not something I wanted to commit to on the spot, but worth considering. I don't think that my muscles were as loose as I had hoped for, but the medium pressure massage certainly felt good during the hour that I was there. Regina went out of her way to respect my modesty and made sure that I was covered the whole time. That part was weird, though, as they do massage you under a sheet. At one point, I felt some pretty serious pain (I have had neck surgery), but Regina quickly lessened the pressure and adjusted her technique on my problem areas. I pulled up outside of the location at 5:22pm right as I put the car in park a woman from the front desk called me to inform me that they are not able to provide my services today due to the therapist who was David M. not being able to make it. Literally 8 minutes before my appointment. When I asked if there were any services they could provide she just said no. No type of apology or anything. There should have to be some kind of disclaimer that they have to follow when canceling on the customer. I stated that I would never come back to this location and she got an attitude then hung up. The caller apologized and asked if I'd want to see someone else and since I'd really been looking forward to my session, I agreed. After three negative experiences at Massage Envy Potomac Yards I decided it was time to visit a new location. This location recently opened and I was not disappointed! The front desk staff was prompt, friendly and courteous. On this visit I decided to get an hour facial and two hour massage. My esthetician was knowledgeable, friendly and the facial was AMAZING! My husband & I have been members for over a year. We love our regular masseuse's but I'm due next month and since our contract is up we figured the expense every month with a new baby is not what we need right now. I will always say the masseuse's are very nice and professional. The place is nice & peaceful. My issue is always with the front desk people. Sometimes they're nice sometimes they're just rude. I remember a few months ago there was a major scheduling conflict with my massage. The manager I assume fixed it after it being canceled & rebooked a few times. I appreciated that since she went above and beyond. Today though I had an appointment. It was FABULOUS. I was in such a good mood but was canceling our membership. I tried calling but they said it has to be in person. WHY? I have no idea. So I told them I was canceling. The lady (assumed manager) said my contract wasn't up til next month. I told her that was incorrect, it was up last month. She agreed. & said I had 30 days to use what was left on my account. Annoyed because when I called & the last time I came both people said I have 90 days to use my credit. She agreed. & said ok. All set. I didn't sign anything so I don't understand why they make you come in. Maybe in hopes you'll forget? She did what I wanted but didn't seem happy about me canceling. Also I tried using my gift card to pay the tip. It took them a while to find it. It was just annoying. I don't like to insist on things that I know I'm right about. Customer service needs major improvement at this location. We bought a 6 month membership for my mom for Mother's Day and every experience has been disappointing so far. She requested her first appointment online and they called to confirm that they had spaces available at that date and time, so she booked it. When she arrived, they said she had never been booked for that day, but the day before at a completely different time. The woman working the desk seemed bothered she was even there and didn't offer another time to come in. Just a lack of communication.
