UNTRUSTWORTHY. I booked a couples massage and sauna for Valentine's Day-- person I booked with told me the couples massage was $99 and then the saunas had no specials. I thought, GREAT! I'll do it both anyway. This was my gift to my boyfriend, his first ever spa and massage. Everything was great until our massages ended. They said a sauna was never booked and we'd have to wait 40 minutes for it to heat up if we wanted it. Then we found out they charged us more than the $99 price for the couples massage, and said they didn't offer that deal... then why was I told otherwise?? They wouldn't refund the difference even though they had messed up on their end by lying to me about the prices! We were so upset with the over charges, and them dropping the ball not scheduling our saunas, we didn't want to wait, so we just left. After leaving, I asked my boyfriend what he thought about his massage-- ended up finding out his masseuse half-assed the massage. I had more work done than he did (no hot towel, no scrub, no head massage, etc) but I did!? Why!!!? You're better off booking with a smaller spa that cares about their customers, don't buy into commercial spas. read more

YEP, Alan did it again. I came into Massage Green today in a massive amount of back pain and in 1 hour he fixed me up right as rain. It was painful, but in a good productive way. I even had a few moments of--dare I say it....relaxation? This is something of a foreign word to me so it was a nice surprise! Since I've been in such a state I decided to go ahead and get the membership. For $39.99 a month I get one free massage and then every additional massage that month is only $35.00. I like this because say I need to go twice a month to get fixed up I'm getting two massages for the price of one somewhere else. Score! Not sure what the other massage therapists are like here since I hit the nail on the head on my first try but I highly recommend Alan if you're able to see him (he's even there on Sundays if a week day doesn't work for you). read more

Extremely disappointed in this facility as I showed up for what was supposed to be a 30-min sauna session followed by 30-min Assisted stretching. The lady (Ashley- Mgr) tells me that she doesn't have my appointment and asked if I booked online. I mentioned that I had and she says that I was supposed to call the location to insure that my appt was scheduled which is asinine to me. She rescheduled me for a later time because the appt time I chose online wasn't available. I get there at the new appt time only to find out that they don't even offer the service being advertised on their website!!!!! So now employee Summer is trying to figure out if my giftcard that was charged for the service will be reimbursed because my service wasn't rendered. The MGR said she'd speak to me about it on MONDAY! Extremely unsatisfied and absolutely WILL NOT return nor recommend anyone to this location. They all have their wires crossed. I wish could give them 100 stars. This was my first massage ever given as a gift from my boyfriend. So if course, I was nervous. The two wonderful ladies at the front desk made me feel so welcome and relaxed. Then I met my therapist, Pamela. I told her it was my first massage and she was kind enough to walk me through the process and always made sure I was comfortable. I will 100% be back, as both the massage service and the customer service at the from desk was exceptional. Third place is so dirty. I went for an infrared sauna with my husband to the Allen park location as they are the only ones who had availability. I felt so disgusted everything was filthy. The receptionist brought us robes from a kitchen and just put them on the chair, she instructed us to get cold towels from the fridge (see pictures) I asked if we can get water and she brought us that water jug that probably have never been washed. read more

This place is so unorganized it's ridiculous! I booked a massage for today at noon with my normal therapist (I have 2 main ones that I go to Ash and Sigmonica...the only reason I've even been coming here) only to get here and they have absolutely nothing booked for me. And the only therapist available is someone with only about a year of experience whom I've never had before. But they can "comp" me for an aromatherapy and sauna session. I could care less about those! I'm here for a massage!! I can go to the sauna in LA fitness. But if The massage sucks then what...there goes a 60$ session?! What a joke. If I hadn't bought a five session package back in December I would never come back to this place. They NEVER have a manager available and no one is ever held accountable for their actions here. Let alone the fact that apparently they can't even call their managers even though they're suppose to start work in an hour. Apparently she called the manager (I'm pretty sure it's just to get me to leave as I was telling other customers about what happened to me) and she said "the manager can't talk but she'll give you a call back when she gets a chance". ....when she gets a chance. Ha pathetic. Glad to see you all care about your customers so much. When I was first told about not being on the books for today I was asked repeatedly if I was sure that I called this location. And I repeatedly had to explain yes to the degree that I even retold her that I had two options...ash at noon or sigmonica at 1. Apparently that wasn't enough because I had to answer again and say "unless sigmonica and Ash work at another location at the same exact time...then ya I'm pretty sure I called this location". After telling me no manager was available to speak with I continued to ask what was available today with my therapists. And she says... I can do sigmonica at 1 . Like are you kidding me! I literally said those were my option in the beginning. I can't even transfer or use any of my sessions on anyone in my house because it's a package. Horrible customer service. I booked an appointment online just to get a text the morning of the massage saying my appointment was cancelled. The message directed me to call and reschedule. First off, if your cancelling my appointment last minute, you should at least call ME for reschedule. After all, if I can't make the massage and don't cancel before 24 hours, you charge me full price. I ended up calling just to be connected with a rude, uninformed employee. I had the website open to look at other available times and I asked her about the online membership options. She adamantly tells me I can't sign up online and without the membership she was going to charge an increased price for the massage... I continued... asking her a question about the membership option that I already had in my cart, on the website, online..... she cut me off saying that membership options are not online because it's specific to locations... I told her logged in to your specific site and it shows these options- reading them off. She cut me off again to say it's not online because you have to sign a disclosure. I informed her that there was an online disclosure sign off and now it's prompting me for pay. She interrupted me again to say I was being rude and will be blocked for services, there is nothing online for memberships, I have to signup in person or I will be charged a higher rate for massage... She still had not answered the initial questions about membership options. She got caught up in being wrong about the online availability but now I'm rude... Is she serious? Doesnt she work for a service provider, at the desk, where her whole job is to provide information and customer service.... But she cutting me off and won't answer a couple simple questions... Treating ourselves to a massage is always a treat, but when it doesn't turn out the way we envision, it's hard to embrace and enjoy. I have a few comments/complaints. Tracy was very proud to be "heavy handed" but honestly, there was absolutely no sensitivity in her hands, she was just barreling through. It wasn't pleasant. Then, the lower back stretch she did was way too big and shouldn't be done on anyone, let alone someone who is flexible and active. Again, she had no sensitivity- it felt forced. Same feeling about the neck stretch that was done way too fast! THEN, she massaged my face with this deep, no oil on her hands, pressure. It was insane. My face was burned with red marks under my eyes for 3 hours! Overall, it wasn't great. It's always great to be massaged and there were parts that felt good to be touched but it wasn't ideal. Also, they should warn you beforehand that this massage is 50 minutes, not an hour! read more

Be careful when purchasing gift cards online. Over a certain amount, they MAKE YOU send a copy of your license via email. Not at all secure! Once transmitted, anyone could potentially access that information. But at the same time, they claim to want to protect me from fraud.... That's not how that works. Just be careful. My experience at this location was incredible! My massage therapist had a name similar to Monica but I can't remember it exactly. She was so amazing and really knew how to get rid of all of my pain. A massage is supposed to be calming and relaxing.. it's pretty hard to be calmed or relaxed when you can hear all of Michigan Avenue's traffic right outside the window, which had cheap light blocking curtained hanged from them!! SOOO I just came back from this Dearborn location & really feel the need to update everyone on how this chain massage joint fares, in my humble opinion, of course. I arrived about 30 minutes early (11AM booking) and they immediately took me to their "tranquility room" where I filled out a bit of paperwork and was almost immediately greeted by my masseuse, Ash. He spoke with me about areas I wanted him to focus on, my back and shoulders, and the service actually began at around 10:50. Great massage, I had the choice between Swedish and Deep Tissue and I've always gone with deep tissue, or the most intense, neuromuscular. Some odd strokes were used but I believe this may be because many of their masseuses are not professionally trained (I could totally be wrong) or they simply use their own practiced methods. One thing to note for those who see Ash: he stretched out my shoulders and legs quite a bit, and even though I am somewhat tolerant to pain and high pressure, these stretches hurt. But, one highly effective stretch was a lower back twist-type movement that produced two pops in my lower spine and relieved me a great deal. The massage ended 10 minutes over an hour, at noon sharp, which was lovely. Overall, everything was pretty decent, if not very enjoyable and professional. Ash did a lovely job and I will seriously consider returning. My introductory price for being a new customer was ONLY 29.99$, this is a FANTASTIC deal! To return and become a free member of theirs, I can pay 49.99$ for an hour full-body, which is still a steal nonetheless. I do have one comment that I hope the establishment minds, the room was freezing and as Ash used hot towels to ease muscle strain, I got really cold when the towels cooled down. Please mind the temperature in patient rooms. Also, I had a great view of a pretty dirty floor in the patient room when I was laying down... looks like it needs a scrub. Sooo....I had a bad experience here last time I went, my time got cut short & it was a pretty crappy massage. They gave me free hot stones for next time, but I had decided I wasn't going to go back. Flash forward to today when I decided I needed a massage & the only place open on a Sunday was Massage Green. I hemmed & hawed but decided I would go since I could get my free stones. I called to make my reservation and mentioned the stones. They didn't have anything in the system about that, but the girl was very helpful and assured me that the manager would call me the next day & resolve the issue. I was wary, but went along & I'm soooo glad I did. I had a massage by Robert who gave me the best massage I've ever had! He worked out all my kinks, knots and stress. I had a complementary massage scheduled here because of a horiffic expirance at the Allen Park location. I called the Dearborn location just to ask if any of the therapists are at both locations (being as I didn't want to run into anyone from the AP location) I was met with the receptionist saying "Why" and "Who was it?" I asked a yes or no question. What I didn't ask for was to be met with rudness and major attitude. Needless to say I cancelled this massage and I won't be back to another Massage Green location. BEWARE of false advertising on gift cards. Clearly printed on my gift card it says "1 Hour Full Body Massage". Today I went there and they told me I owe an additional $10. Apparently it is their corporate policy to charge you more for a massage if they increase their prices between the time you purchase a gift card and when you use it. I called corporate headquarters and mentioned this is false advertising. They told me it wasn't and then hung up on me. This place is WAY overpriced and you can get a higher quality massage from elsewhere. I will be contacting the Michigan Better Business Bureau and the local news problem solvers to get my $10 back. read more

Went here because I really needed a massage and it was one of the only places I could find open on Sunday. My husband warned me not to go (he was there once before and did not like), but I was desperate. Anyway, my experience was great. I got there, filled out an info sheet and was taken back right away. My therapist used a great amount of pressure (I like very deep tissue). Afterwards, they told me about their program I could sign up for, but did not pressure me into it after I said no. One annoying thing about this place. The massage is 60 minutes, but then there is fine print that says it is really 50 minutes because they add time in to talk to your therapist and get undressed. This is ridic. Then, really, you should advertise a 50 minute massage. I have a friend who is a massage therapist, owns her own business. She told me they pay their therapists here next to nothing, which is why there is such a huge turnover. This would not be a place I would frequent often, but, like I said desperate and Sunday=Massage Green. The experience was much better than I expected though. :) read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have a membership through the Birmingham, MI store. I always get a great massage from Art, and the facilities are nice. Unfortunately, on January 19, 2014, the Birmingham facility was booked, so I made an appointment at the Dearborn, MI facility. It was very disappointing. For starters, I did not get called back for my 3 pm appointment until 10 minutes after three. The room was very unappealing. The leather or leather-like material was peeling off the chair; the walls were dirty, and so was the carpet. Even more disappointing was the quality of my massage. When I made my appointment, I stressed that I needed someone capable of a very deep tissue massage. That is not what I received. Having to constantly request more pressure took away from my ability to relax and attempt to de-stress. To top it all off, the massage ended at 3:50. So my one-hour massage that is actually 50 minute massage was only 40 minutes. However, because the technique was so bad, I didn't care about it being shortened. I don't, however, expect to pay for such a poor experience. My day of "relaxation" caused more aggravation. The manager tried to appease me with a$10 hot stones add on. This would suggest I would go back to them and spend money on another massage. I will not. Twice at that location is enough for me. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! I went to get a massage after a 60 hour work week. The massage therapist asked me to put my hands behind my head and proceeded to pull my arms up causing me to get back spasms. Then she only massaged me for 30minutes. When I explained this to the asst mgr and asked for the manager to call she said she would give me a sauna room free next time I came in. I believe her name was Ariel or Aries.. there was no aromatherapy used and she didn't seem like she liked her job. BE CAREFUL! Casey H. was on her cellphone while giving me my massage. One hand on my body, one hand on her phone. What could she have been doing on her phone while someone is naked under a sheet??? When I sat up, she jumped from the table and put her phone back in her pocket. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I was about to get towels" WHAT? I immediately stopped the massage. I contacted the district manager who was nonchalant about the whole thing and at one point stated "well I know she has a 7 month old, so that could be why she was on her phone". They claimed they put a "note" in her file and gave her a suspension, but I don't believe that. I have to take matters into my own hands. This is written as a WARNING for others, please please please be mindful of what is going on during your "therapeutic" experience. There are creeps out there! I have built up some credits for unused massages and when I called the next closest location to the one I went to they told me they would not honor the credits. when I joined they had 8 locations that I could go to and they are not honoring my credits at any of the other locations. this was the worst experience I have had at massage green thus far. I have had my membership since 2013. I've been getting massages at least 1-2 times a month. tonight I had an appointment with the -- to get a facial. the actual facial it's self (while rushed) felt really good, and that is where the 2 stars are going; everything else.. was no where near acceptable. my appointment was at 7:30, I got there at 7:30 exactly. I payed for my appointment (because according to the girl at the front I didn't not have any free ones; even though I am pretty sure I had at least 1, but ok I paid.) and I went into the back room where you apparently wait for the therapist to come out & get you. I waited for 10 minutes before she came out & got me. She took me to her room & since I hadn't gotten a facial in a few months; she asked me a bunch of questions & told me to undress from the waist up and left. she did not come back inside & actually START on my facial until 7:50. She ended my facial at 8:28. when I got dressed & walked back out to the front the girl in the front was doing her make up at the front desk! she had a ring light up! And she was FaceTiming with someone when I walked out. when she saw me she said "oh sorry, I have to get ready!!" at this point I was so over being there I can not believe the management in this salon allows this kind of behavior. & how many other people don't get their full hour? for the prices you charge I'd like my full service time. I am reading the reviews here and I guess I lucked out because I got a massage therapist named Japan on my first visit. She may or may not be "green", ie fresh out of training, but she is attentive and skilled and does a great job. I joined the second time I went in and have now been getting a massage with Japan every month (for a very reasonable price). I highly recommend her. Also, the staff has been very professional and helpful every time I 've been in. My only criticism is that there should be more sound-proofing in the rooms. I'm not used to hearing what's going on next door or in the hallway when I'm getting a massage. And if you're in the front room, you can forget about peace and quiet since you can hear every car door shut in the parking lot. Still, a great bargain! read more

Considering the past reviews and the price (29.95) I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of massage. It was just what my wife and I needed before a long day of Family Christmas parties. Semonica and Kelly gave us our massages and were awesome. Well above expectations for a "value" massage. The atmosphere of the place in general screamed $29.95 massage with little foreplay of pampering, trim that could be replaced, and a few freshly painted walls wouldn't hurt.
