Where do I start. I purchased a gift card for my boyfriend's birthday for a couples massage. We called to schedule the massage and it was a headache for them to even find a day and time for us. When we finally had an appt set we were called on the day of our appt, 20 min before our arrival time, & informed they had to cancel!! And once again it was a headache for them to reschedule us, they had NO time slots over the next few months. We finally booked an appt a year and a half after getting the gift card. We arrived early, waited and only one of our therapists were in the vicinity, the other was still on lunch. He finally strolls in, LATE. The rooms aren't very nice at all, looks like you're in someone's basement. They offered aroma therapy, they spray a tissue with essential oils and place the tissue under your nose. Not very "spa" like, where is the diffuser? Again, felt like a Craigslist ad massage vs an established business. One of the therapists coughed the entire time. We wanted to get up and leave. The other made a very unprofessional comment about my boyfriend's shoulder injury. We left feeling tense vs relaxed. Not so great experience, not so great ambiance, not so great massage. This is my second time coming here, the first time was okay. I think your experience will be good or bad depending on who gives you the massage. Today I had a lady I forget her name, but she was an older lady. She was really good. I told her where I wanted her to focus on and she got in it. She would definitely have me coming back. The first time I went I wasn't really happy, it felt rushed and almost like she didn't know what she was doing. The first time was a really long time ago so I don't even remember who she was or if she even works there anymore. But for my experience today I give it a 5 star for the lady that massaged me. I came back yesterday for a prenatal massage and wasn't too happy about it. The girl who checked me in was very nice but the girl who took my payment was a bit rude. When she asked me how my massage was, I told her it was okay/wasn't my favorite and she didn't ask me any follow up questions. It costs me $135 too and she could tell I wasn't happy. My massage therapist was alright. I really liked a therapist who did my prenatal massage last time and apparently she got let go. I heard they went under new management too. I appreciate how easy the booking process was over the phone and especially that they let me use her credits for it (with her permission of course. My esthetician was Carrie and she did a wonderful job. I appreciate her listening to what I had to say about my own skin and explaining what I can do to keep it even healthier than it already is (phew!) The head and neck massage was wonderful as well. My husband booked me an appointment as an early Valentine's Day gift and I'd never visited before so I was very excited. From walking in through the end of my service, I had the best time. The lady at the service desk was extremely friendly and helpful, and my massage therapist was very knowledgeable and precise with her massage techniques. I especially loved the heating pad on the massage table throughout the entirety of my massage and the hot towel that was placed under my neck when laying on my back. I was really excited to try out this place for the first time based on their high ratings and reviews. I am so disappointed in the overall experience. They had me fill out some type of questionnaire when I got there early, which I thought was great! But I don't think the massage therapist looked at it at all. There was also a massage therapist leaning against the front desk asking what type of pressure my partner and I wanted when I was at the front desk checking in. I told her "deep tissue" to which she replied "ok I'll try and apply more pressure using my elbows". I thought that was weird she even had to say that, are you not capable of giving a deep tissue massage? She looked very grumpy and unfriendly. They took us in five minutes late and the massage only lasted 50 minutes. The massage therapist leaning against the front desk took my partner in to her room. I was already worried he would get a bad massage with her. Abby was my massage therapist and she did a good job, but definitely not my favorite that I've had for the price they charge. She did make sure to apply deep pressure and ask me questions throughout (this also made me feel like she didn't look at the questionnaire at all). She applied hot towels and a complimentary aroma therapy which I appreciated. We ended early and I went out to meet my partner who had already been waiting for me (his massage ended even earlier than mine!) I brought the timing up to the front desk lady who said it's supposed to be a 50 min massage with 10 mins to change. I mean, who needs 10 minutes to change? I did not see this advertised as a 50 minutes massage on their website. It says 60 mins. What a rip off!! I felt like she could tell we weren't happy overall and was dismissive and wanted us to just get out of there. Chatting with my partner afterwards, he told me how terrible his massage was with Ink. He said it felt like a cat kneading his body and she didn't apply deep pressure at all. She did not offer him the complimentary aroma and only gave him one hot towel (whereas I got 3). Overall I do think my massage therapist, Abby, did well but we already knew Ink would be terrible. I would NOT recommend this place for the price they are charging especially since it's 50 mins and not 60 mins. Or maybe try and book Abby or one of the good massage therapists to ensure you are getting a proper massage to the pressure of your liking. I was looking into a location that offered prenatal massages and came across this one. I tried to book a month ago since online they had one slot left on a Sunday the person texting me told me to book asap so it wouldn't get booked up. I then tried to book but it wouldn't go through. She ends up saying that person called out so I can't make it. No worries I then mentioned I wanted to just book for valentines weekend and asked about deals. I was told if I booked only that day I'd get the 20% off. I then told the person that on Yelp it's 20% off for check ins but they kept trying to get me to book that day. I was the notified in Feb they'll have a purchase $100 gift card get $25 so I asked for the best two masseuse and times we narrowed it down with two exact people. Today day of my appt the email said to come 10-15 mins early to check in with the consultant and let them know if we wanted to add anything. We waited until 4 mins past our appt. Was greeted by 2 complete different names. I get to the room and tell the lady of the mistake so she told me to go upfront and check with them. They had no notes what's so ever of who I originally booked with. They called Alisha? Since she's good but ended up being off. I almost just wanted to cancel because of frustrating and unorganized it was. The Asian girl up front said she'll just comp one massage . My partner then just agreed and we went back. I ended up getting ink for my prenatal they assured me she's highly requested and good for my prenatal. And Michelle for my partner. I came here on a weekend visit to Sacramento. The reception area was very clean and the treatment area was very warm and inviting. Lots of warm earth tones in their interior design, which I liked. I liked that the intake form was available to fill out online and I didn't have to fill out any paperwork upon arrival. Looks like their in house product line is Dermalogica, which I'm familiar with. This was my first time at Massage Heights so I could take advantage of their first time client rate. I had a wonderful 50 minute facial session with Scarlett . She was very thorough and I especially liked the neck and shoulder massage which almost put me to sleep. Check out was easy and I had the option to receive a printed or emailed receipt . The reception asked if I was interested in the membership program but Since I don't live in Sacramento and there aren't any Massage Heights locations where I live it wouldn't be worth it to me. Unfortunately, the therapist arrived late, didn't address the areas I requested, and the service felt more like lotion application than a massage. I ended the session early, as I wasn't receiving the experience I booked. Initially, I was told I still had to pay, which added to my disappointment, though I was eventually allowed to leave without charge. I believe Massage Heights North could really benefit from improved communication and customer service training so clients feel heard and cared for. I love a good self-care day, so I've been trying to incorporate regular massages and facials into my routine. Massage Heights is a great option because it's conveniently located in a shopping center where I can run errands, but it still has a relaxing, upscale feel once you step inside. The massages have been good overall, though it really depends on who you get--some therapists have been a miss for me, but I've had great experiences with Valerie, Joanee, and Joelle. I was gifted a deep tissue massage for my birthday and I can confidently say that it was one of the most unprofessional experiences I can speak on. Among other things I requested deeper pressure twice. The massage therapist was literally using light touch for the entirety of my massage. She disregarded my requests and on top of that made me feel very ashamed of my eczema. I won't go into to much detail but please train your massage therapists on how to honor pressure requests and fair treatment of people with skin conditions. Thank you. Of if you are breastfeeding they have a special accommodating pillow which is nice for laying on your belly. - the therapists talk a looooot during the sessions. Advocate if you want them to talk less - for the membership--89.99 a month, you can use it for any service and if you don't use it for that month you have a credit that rolls over that apparently doesn't expire.... - you will get charged the 89.99 every month which is fine. But if you want to skip the month you have to do it before 30 days of the closing date even if the closing date hasnt passed yet. If you want to freeze the account, they charge you to freeze it. and guess what, you can't use your credits during this freeze. I have a super demanding job which prevents me to always book every month and as a result I accumulated a lot of credits. so feels useless not being able to use the credits during a freeze without being charged more ???? - because of this I had to make the decision to cancel my membership. I had 30 days to use all of my credits but was told they would expire after. I guess they do expire after all. The last day I had my massage scheduled the front desk said I was outside of my 30 day window by one day to use my last credit, even though I had called earlier to confirm I was within the window.... They nicely "made an exception by management"... - you have the option to book 30 or 60 minute sessions. I booked a 30 minute session and basically was felt to feel bad for booking only 30 mins. The therapist was overall talented and eventually warm and friendly, but initially said "i was shocked when I was told I had a 30 minute appt... like that's not even worth it. But ya so you have 10 mins for changing time and only 20 mins of massage. What did you want ...!?" Felt honestly aggressive approach and I was made to feel guilty, but at least the massage was good. All in all, this membership is not a great financial option and does not offer the flexibility it claims to offer. Unfortunately my family and I will not be using their services moving forward. I've been really hesitant to write this review, but I am writing in hopes that it will potentially help others. I went in for a massage on Sunday, September 22nd, hoping to relieve some tension in my neck and back. I had not had a massage in quite some time. I was assigned to a massage therapist who I was told was great with deep tissue, and medium/firm pressure. I filled out the forms and talked to my MT about the areas where I was experiencing tension. The therapist told me that she thought I would benefit from pressure point work, and I took her advice and proceeded with the massage. During the massage, she began with pressure point work around my neck. On either side of my neck she held the pressure points for what felt like at least 10-15 minutes at a time. She did check to see if the pressure was okay. During the pressure point work on the right side of my neck, the therapists hand slipped and I felt a severe crunch and terrible sensation in my neck muscle. Something was not right and the muscle moved abruptly (it's really hard to explain this.) The therapist herself you could tell somewhat panicked, because this was not supposed to happen, and acknowledged by saying "oh your muscle slipped away from me are you okay?" At the time, I said yes I was fine and she proceeded. As I've mentioned, I've had massages before, and expect to be sore for a few days after the therapy....this is normal. However, the next day, I woke up with SEVERE neck pain, numbness in my right arm and hands, and limited mobility in my arm. I am 34 years old and not fragile at this point, but had never experienced this sensation or pain before, especially after a massage. In addition, VISIBLY you could see that the right side of my body is about an inch higher than my left and extremely swollen. I decided to wait awhile to see if this would heal before jumping the gun in thinking that something was sincerely wrong. It has now been 3 weeks, I am still experiencing the same pain, and now have to see a medical physician and get imaging work done to determine the damage done by the massage. In speaking with my physicians office, they think that I could have nerve damage or torn muscle fibers from the therapists thumb slipping and moving my muscle abruptly. I still have no mobility, am experiencing numbness in my arm, and am terribly swollen. I can't even hold the blow dryer above my head in the morning. I called a few weeks ago to notify Massage Heights of my pain, and the receptionist said that she didn't know what to do other than note to not book me with this therapist in the future. I hate to sound dramatic, but after this massage there has been serious damage done. Once I get imaging work done with my physician, I will be contacting Massage Heights corporate HQ for next steps. I can't believe this has happened and I'm just so so frustrated that something I spent money on to help me relax, ended up being an absolute nightmare and has affected my quality of life. read more

Massage Heights was a pleasant surprise. As a surprise gift, I was treated to a lovely couples massage! Everything about the experience from start to finish, was lovely. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the masseuse that worked on me did a great job! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted, and made to feel comfortable. Once inside the room, we got settled in and enjoyed a very lengthy massage. I really appreciate it being asked about or I thought my problem areas might be, and then the masseuse working on those areas, but then also acknowledging a few other areas that needed some intense work. We left, feeling incredibly relaxed, and both of us are excited to go back in the near future. Tip: I find that they are slightly pricier than a lot of other places that I've been to, but having experienced a really good massage, I would say, it's absolutely worth it. read more

Started seeing Angel again in mid-March 2021 for 90-minute massages once every week or two. When pandemic hit, membership continued to accrue credits monthly, and rolled over if not used. Once Retreats opened again, I was able to book sessions with any existing credits; advantages of this include being able to book a longer session or adding any elevations/service enhancements for no additional cost. Aromatherapy included like eucalyptus or lavender, but examples of elevations include foot scrub, hot stones for your back, cold stones+hot towel for your face. Cupping technique also an option, individual or couples massage. Another option to use credits is to get a facial rather than a massage, which is fine, but for me I get more benefit out of the massages for sure. Appointment reminders/confirmations via text message are convenient. When I've had to leave a voicemail, someone called me back within 24 hours. Staff is masked/shielded, tablet to measure temperatures during checkin, hand sanitizer in the lobby. Another new safety measure is an alert button on the bottom right of the massage table which will alert someone from front desk to the private room if any unsafe/emergency situation occurs. As a client I feel comfortable with the level of cleanliness, staggered appointments so there isn't a bunch of people waiting or crowding the hallway, and other practices. I personally prefer Angel for her deep tissue, firm modality of massage. A 60-minute session is fine but the 90-minute bookings allow her to really get at my trouble spots, ultimate goal is pain relief, feel better, as we joked about giving my body a "factory reset" to how it's supposed to be. A massage with Angel is not "relaxing" per se as you can imagine muscle knots getting treated with a certain level of pressure, but Angel's conversation is helpful to talk through or distract. No pain no gain! 15-20 years of experience, this strong little lady knows her stuff, don't underestimate Angel. What's also great are additional stretches she demonstrates that I can do at home to provide some relief for my neck, shoulders, sternum, hips, wrists, hands. Since I also recently returned to the gym (high intensity interval training workouts), these visits are much needed and appreciated. Of course my daily work in the office/lab setting and stress also adds to my "usual" problem areas but Angel takes care of it with her skillful ways. If looking for a similar strength experience but with a male therapist, I'd recommend Ricky or Tomas. For anything else, do ask Sonia or the front desk. When I first joined at MH years ago the pricing was around $49/hr but currently is $79/hr plus gratuity. They do carry products in the lobby such as sports balm, heatable neck pillow, Dermalogica skin care, bath salts, etc. as well. I was gifted a massage at my baby shower and decided to book a 90 min deep tissue massage 3 months postpartum. My massage therapist, Tim G, helped work out my problem areas including my neck (from falling asleep with baby and nursing), my shoulders, lower back and forearms from carrying and rocking not only my newborn, but my toddler as well. He even sent me home with some homework to do an extra 30 minutes of relaxing in a saltwater bath and some stretching. Shockingly inept, harmful experience. I booked for a 90 minute massage and repeatedly requested a deep tissue specialist. What I got was the worst massage of my life. She claimed she was a neck and shoulder expert and her remedy for my sore muscles was to literally pinch my trapezius muscle with one hand, and sit there for FIVE MINUTES. Then she did the same to the other side for FIVE MINUTES. She switched back to the original side and continued the pinch for another few minutes when I finally asked her what in the world she was doing. She said she was working on a trigger point and would continue this awful and ridiculous pinch for 25 minutes! I told her to move on, but the massage didn't get any better. At home that night, my traps had spasms for more than two hours, i've never experienced anything like it. I've had hundreds of deep tissue massages in my life and this was off the charts bad. I don't leave many reviews but I don't want anyone else to experience this. read more

First, I would like to say I hate writing negative reviews but my experience here was very unpleasant. My husband booked us a couples massage as our anniversary gift. We arrived and were rushed to the room with both of our massage therapist waiting for us. We are given the run down of our massages, no problem. My husband's massage therapist was wonderful and he had no complaints with her. Now I was assigned Caitlin and it was horrible. As she was about to start the session (I am already undressed and under the sheets facing down) she informs she will be wearing plastic gloves during the session. I was a little hesitant with this and asked if I could possibly get another person, she sounded offended by this request so I then said I would try it out. I had informed her that I preferred deep pressure. As she starts using her hands i immediately asked for deeper pressure, she starts using her elbows and the pressure there is good but as soon as she uses her hands, it felt as feathers are massaging me. During the massage I asked for deeper pressure about 5times, she spent maybe 10 min on my back then had me turn around. As she starts massaging my upper shoulders all I could hear are the plastic gloves in my ears. I then asked for a different massage therapist and Caitlin just says "okay, I'll inform the front desk." I laid in the table for about 10min without any communication of what's going on. So I get dressed with oil still in my back and neck area. I go to the front desk and the gentleman working the desk informs me that he was told our session was concluded by Caitlin and he wouldn't charge for one massage. I informed him that Caitlin never returned to the room to let me know our session had concluded and I was never offered a towel to clean the massage oil and I laid on the table undressed with no idea of what was going on for 10 minutes. He then stated that he would not charge us anything since our experience had been ruined. However, he ended charging us for one massage even after my husband left a generous tip for his massage. This was my first time at massage heights on behalf of my sister who treated for my birthday weekend and a couple of my friends. On January 11, 2025, my massage was interrupted by a staff member yelling on a personal phone call from the office next to my room. My massage person LaRaine had to excuse her self twice to get the staff person to stop. This was extremely unprofessional in what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. The yelling (included cursing) to her boyfriend or whatever, went on for at least 10-15 minutes even after she was told to stop twice. This review would be 5 stars because LaRaine gave the best massage. Thank you LaRaine ! I left a tip ! Hope you got it. Lastly, Please share with your staff to take intense personal calls outside. WHY WE WENT HERE: - couples massage - try a new place; which happens to be conveniently located to where we live - introductory rate for first-time customers for a 60-minute massage THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a plaza off Del Paso Rd in between E Commerce Way and Town Center Dr - located next door to SAFE Credit Union THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - soothing colors and great reed diffuser smells inside the lobby - the couples massage room was spacious, SUPER dimly lit, quiet, and had nice spa music playing OUR EXPERIENCE: - we had difficulty making the initial appointment online so we decided to pop in, in person to make the appointment - we had a call from the location prior to our appointment date/time that we would have to reschedule (we wanted 2 female massage therapists only) and had a LOT of scheduling difficulty almost a month after the originally scheduled appointment to even get 2 female massage therapists at a decent time that worked for us (that wouldn't interfere with our work schedules) - the day of the appointment we arrived 15 minutes prior to the start of the 60-minute massage appointment time to fill out paperwork (in which you're provided with a tablet to fill out your information and requests); we also added upgrades - mine was for hot stones and his was for hemp massage for his sore muscles/muscle tension - we get taken to our room; one of our massage therapists was very nice, the other was so-so; we were instructed to strip to our underwear (we're used to being instructed to be completely naked for our massages so this was interesting and new to us); my massage therapist informed me that the "60-minute massage" is ACTUALLY "50 minutes, due to consultation and time to undress and redress" - my massage was fine, but maybe because of the time it felt rushed - found out from the SO that he was NOT happy at all with his massage therapist; felt she was standoffish, and after comparing notes on our massages he realized his massage therapist did not massage him completely like how mine did; he also didn't like how my massage therapist provided me with an after-care report and his did not - after we redressed my massage therapist offered the both of us water and his was nowhere to be found - our experience with the front desk staff on the initial appointment and on the date/time of the actual massage was fine; they were very warm and welcoming read more
