My stress and anxiety manifests most in my neck/shoulder area and hips. I could not believe how tense I've been because I felt like a new person walking out. Definitely on the list of some of the best massages I've gotten thus far because he was doing things I've never experienced before, and the hot stones were used much more than other places I've been. He was checking in on me asking how the pressure was and would be quick to fix it if I wanted it more or less. I had to knock a star though because I wish hands and feet got a little more love. I do feel like my feet were neglected most since I'm on my feet for a lot of my full time job, so I wanted some TLC and didn't get too much of it. I visited Happy Day Spa recently and while the massage itself was good, the experience ended in a very uncomfortable and unprofessional way. I had already paid for my massage upfront, and when I walked out of the spa room, the therapist was standing there with his hand out waiting for a tip. I gave him $6, which was what I had available in cash. Instead of accepting it graciously, he looked at it, pulled me back into the massage room, and told me, "This is no good," while demanding I give him $4.. A tip is meant to be voluntary, not forced. I've never had a spa experience where I felt cornered and pressured after trying to leave a gratuity. It completely overshadowed the massage and left me feeling stressed instead of relaxed. The massage was fine, but the lack of professionalism means I will not be returning. I hope management takes this kind of behavior seriously. read more

Called last minute on a Friday afternoon and was able to book two people for 1 hour foot massage within the hour. Once we arrived we waited only about 5 minutes and were taken back. I've been here years ago but this time I noticed they have a really nice scent in the building that makes you feel like you're at an actual spa. Also the chairs for the big room for the foot massages have been upgraded. So much more comfortable. They adjusted so I was completely flat on my back which can hurt my low back after extended time. Water bowl for the feet was perfect temperature and I had an Andy and he used perfect pressure. He also asked a couple times if pressure was good. Only request is I wish you couldn't hear so many noises to the room next door which I'm assuming is some kind of staff room. It's not super loud but a couple times there was a loud noise that broke my moment of relaxation. For a group area it's done well. Also don't forgot cash for tipping! For what it is and the rate for an hour massage at Happy Day Spa, I am a satisfied customer. If you can ignore the occasional chatter and background noise of the staff, the massages are really good. i just plug in my noise cancellation head phones and enjoy the "foot massage". They focus on your feet but takes about 30 minutes of the hour to massage the rest of your body. The therapists are strong and really get in your muscles and stretch you quite a bit. To keep it simple the massage was terrible, the lady doing my massage did not know what she was doing at all and spent about 40 minutes just rubbing my back, not massaging it. I asked several times for her to grab someone else or to change pressure and she didn't. The guy who works the front desk is a joke and not helpful at all. I did not enjoy my experience here at all. My husband surprised me with a massage for me and my mom while I was nine months pregnant, thinking it would be a nice way to relax before the baby arrived. The massage itself was just okay at best, but what really ruined the experience was how they handled the tip. Before we could even get up to leave the room, they came in with a black book and basically demanded a tip. It was uncomfortable and completely unprofessional. I always tip for massages--that's not the issue--but the way they pressured us was tacky. To make matters worse, I don't carry cash, and they acted like it was an inconvenience. Then, at the front desk, they pushed me to add a tip to my card, which would have been fine if they had just handled it better. The whole experience felt awkward and unprofessional, and because of that, I will never go back. Decided to use a coupon for a one hour massage I received in the mail. Came here for a night massage around 830pm and walked in and was helped right away. Asked if I wanted a male or female therapist, I asked for a female therapist and she came out right away to walk me back. The room was very old and outdated. She asked what areas I wanted her to focus on. I let her know and when she came in to start massaging, she massaged me on all the right areas and my entire body since it was a full body massage, but she focused on the main points that I had told her. She was a very good massage therapist as I had been here once before and ended up with someone who really didn't provide the massage that I needed for me to go back right away. But I will definitely be going back and asking for Nancy as she took her time, applied the right pressure needed and focused on the areas that I told her to focus on. It is worth the $48 I paid for the one hour, but it definitely can do a total makeover inside and get rid of all the outdated furniture and tables... I was a little nervous at first since it looks like the blankets and things they use are a little outdated, but she definitely knew what she was doing. read more

This was the most painful massage I've ever experienced. I told the male masseuse three times that the pressure was too hard, and he laughed instead of adjusting. The pressure never changed and was so rough that the table I was lying on actually moved. He was not gentle with the towel, and his nails dug into my skin. I cried during the massage and again afterward from the pain. I even waved my hand behind my back for him to stop the movements he was doing. My partner reported what happened to the front desk, and while they didn't charge us, the receptionist brushed it off by saying, "it was probably a translation issue." I usually purchase the 5 pack of massages because the discount ends up being about $8 -$11 per massage, depending on what kind of package deal they're advertising for the month. Their massage table sheets, face pillows, room chairs, and carpets could definitely use a makeover...the feel is starting to become dated and dingy...If they upgraded the room vibe a little bit it could be a game changer for their business... read more

I just got home and I'm still confused. My husband and I went in to get a foot massage as he's been having back pain recently and I thought reflexology would help. The room is huge with lots of beds. Was surprised that we were laying down instead of in a chair and got to wear paper towels over our eyes. Turns out their 'foot massage' is a 45 minute body massage where they rub your feet for 10 minutes. The beds were less than comfortable and we weren't in an ergonomic position and both came home with lower back pain. Felt like we just were in the twilight zone. The place was just so odd. read more

I love getting massages and actually know the difference between a bad massage and a good one, came here before with my wife and for the most part our experience was ok nothing to complain about. Fast fwd a year later, service has went down dramatically, asked the masseuse "Kim" to provide more pressure and it was so weak that my 7 year old could press harder than her.. I rate it about 5/10..what really got me, is when the service was done she will apply more pressure asking for a tip than the massage itself lol. If you want a really good massage come earlier, when these masseuses are not tired, obviously if you book late at night these people are tired and are ready to go home, they will find ways to cut corners and get u out asap.. Expect them to keep pressuring you about tips and extra services, these types of establishments thrive off bait and switch tactics and try to squeeze every single penny from you... if u decide to leave a tip u can do it before the massage but I don't recommend that because the moment they find out what your giving them they might not give u the service u want.. DONT FALL ASLEEP!! I know it's hard when you're in a relaxed state, but these people will find ways to cheat your time on the massage bed.. We booked an appointment at happy Day spa on Mother's Day . They had appointments available for all three of us to go in we were in separate rooms. I was greeted by the front desk , that went very well the masseuse then came to get me and put me in one of the rooms. He didn't say hi, how are you . There was no type of friendly greeting . Just undress and here's the sheet to cover yourself. so I did that , laid on the table , he knocked I said come in and he just started massaging as soon as he came in. No questions asked about specific areas to focus on or any questions at all . The massage itself was great he did a really good job and the whole massage experience was nice . Up until the very end of it all you know I got dressed and I walked out of the room and he just standing there . I knew right away by his body language he was waiting for a tip . I was going to give it to him but I was honestly surprised by the demeanor of it all . I walked out didn't even take a step out the door and he was waiting . I looked at my purse really fast to see what change I had in my purse. The first thing I saw was a five dollar bill so i handed it to him. And he just looked at me and just gave me the biggest sigh and the biggest attitude and he just walked away he didn't even take the money . I was honestly shook when he didn't take it and while I was handing it to him I was put under that pressure. I was still looking in my purse to look for more change but he had already walked away . I felt super terrible about it I wanted to tip him more I was just put on the spot and I walked away into the office area and I was still looking through my purse for some change and as I was doing that he was standing over me probably 3 feet away. He placed his tip book right next to me on top of the fridge and he walked away and then I put the money in the tip book I ended up giving him $10 I wanted to give him more but after all of that I just I felt super uncomfortable. So I put the money in the book and he grabbed it from the top of the table and just walked away . You know I feel so bad for anybody or any woman that has to feel that way. I just had to put my two cents in because I just felt so terrible and I ended up tipping him and he didn't even say thank you or anything of that sort and I'm pretty sure I've read the reviews other reviews on this yelp and a lot of women and men have the same experience. Great massage, I've never had such an extensive deep tissue massage with such skillful technique. My masseuse was David, and he was very hands-on for an hour and a half. He gave me a great massage from head to toe, especially focusing in between my shoulder blades where I have a lot of tightness. At one point, he cracked my neck which felt good on one side, but didn't crack it very properly on the other side and left me with a bit of pain. Other than that, great location and great service! I have been going to the Natomas location since they opened and always get a great massage each time. I do have one complaint due to my recent experience with "Kevin" (they use fake names). He merely rubbed lotion on me, even after I told him to apply more pressure. He continued applying the same no pressure, so I think he didn't understand English. He then pressed his groin area against my arm, where I felt his erection! By this time my hour was almost up so I signaled with my hand to stop. I told the front desk of my experience and all she stated is they'll inform him of complaint. If you prefer a male masseuse, and deep tissue massage DON'T accept Kevin. With all of the stress and uncertainty during COVID it's nice to be able to go somewhere and receive a relaxing massage. My wife reserved me a massage for 6:00pm on a Saturday evening due to a rough week at work. I walk in and mentioned I had an appointment and was asked if I "had a card". I mentioned my wife called and made the appointment and then was asked if I minded paying for services up front. I thought that was odd as I've never paid for a massage before receiving the massage. I received a hot stone massage by Andy which was decent, however, how everything ended was what put me off about this place. When my massage therapist finished, I'm expecting him to walk out so I can get dressed. Instead as I sit up and am waiting for him to walk out, he grabs my belongings places them on the massage table. My thought was "ok, I guess I'll get dressed with this guy in here". No big deal as it reminded me of high school gym days however, what was the icing on top of the cake was Andy places the, what I now know as the tip holder on the table and I mention I've already paid the bill. Andy replies and say "tip" as if I'm being forced to may a tip. In my opinion, this was unprofessional and discomforting to clients. I never in my life been so disgusted and angry! I came here to get a massage today. I never have had a preference on my masseuse but after today I will! The masseuse kept pulling my underwear down farther while i was laying face down on the table after tellling him no and moving his hands because he kept getting too close to my vagina. He eventually just went for it and jabbed his hand "down there" and got partial finger inside me!!! I jumped up and quickly got dressed and went to the front desk and called the police. I went to get an evidence exam done but unfortunately he wasn't arrested because the dna test has to be proven first. SMH! So far I've had multiple people reach out to me along with reading reviews with similar complaints but no actual physical harm. I went here a few days ago and it was my first time coming here. The receptionist at first was very nice and had told me to wait for my masseuse and as soon as she had came out, she had me wait in the room so she can put the sheets on the bed and during the massage I felt like there was no pressure at all when I asked for medium pressure and I felt like she was sleeping or stopping during the massages. I would leave zero stars if I could. First I was not able to just have a full body massage without being asked repeatedly if I wanted to add something. After saying no so many times I finally caved for the ginger oil they wanted to purchase so badly. Then my massage: it was a freezing cold room, the masseuse (wish I knew her name) was essentially rubbing her hand on me, pushing my hip bones into the bed, scratching me repeatedly with hot towels to the point I thought my skin was sloughing off, and throwing things around the room loudly and carelessly. When the massage was finally over I thought to myself, well that was horrible and I won't be back. But to top it off as I was leaving I still left a small tip ($5) just because I know that's a custom.. and the lady had the audacity to look at me rudely and in shock and say I need to leave at least $10. She would not let me leave and I said that's all I have. She just stared at me with an evil look for the longest time before walking off very rudely. What I thought was going to be a relaxing, affordable massage (wasn't expecting greatness here), was an absolute terrible experience. I am a registered nurse and have a very stressful job and came here to unwind and left so beyond disturbed. I come here about 4x a year for the past two years. * NOT CLEAN* I always had a sneaky suspicion they didn't turn over the beds. Meaning they don't switch out the towels you lay on and what they place over you. The last visit I witnessed them not replacing two beds once a client had left. They simply folded them and put them at the end of the bed for the next guest. I was disgusted. One of these clients laid in the shared room and was shirtless. So his body had direct contact with a towel that they folded and was going to use for the next person. When I paid, I asked the receptionist what their policy was for towels. And she hesitated and said they are supposed to replace them. (definitely said that to cover herself)I said well I saw two people not follow that rule. So I will not be going back. read more

I've been debating with myself whether I should write this review or not, because it's been a couple of months since the incident. But it still angers me whenever I think about it so I'll take that as a sign to share even though I don't remember the masseur's name. I had just given birth and was experiencing some back pain due to carrying a baby around and stooping for diaper changes. Thought I'd treat myself to a nice, relaxing massage. I stripped down to just my bottoms, facedown on the table, and the massage started. It was nice for a bit, until he moved to the front by my head. He was rubbing my shoulders so aggressively with his dry hands--and it HURT. He would push my shoulders so hard that my entire torso would lift up, exposing my breasts each time. It was physically painful and uncomfortable, and all I could say was "ow." Not that it helped. He just kept massaging me with his dry hands that felt like fire and sandpaper on my skin. He was also just as rough with my feet. I had surgery a year ago, so my foot had pins and metal inside and a huge scar. He pulled and twisted and kneaded as if I was just saying "ouch" for fun. The thing that pisses me off is that I still left a tip. I walked out of there feeling even more stressed out, body on fire, foot aching, and feeling harassed. The only reason I didn't ask him to stop during the ordeal was that I had pleasant experiences in that establishment before--I guess I was dumbstruck at how bad this guy was. This was the first time I got a foot massage here, I'm visiting from San Diego and get great foot massages at least once a month. The spa is modest but clean, price very reasonable and the massage was excellent. Very relaxing, just the right pressure and I could tell my massage therapist was very experienced.
