We bought a couples massage but then were told they don't do that and we'd have to go to a different address. This raised some red flags and we read reviews horrified. Contacted Groupon and canceled the massage. The unprofessional responses matched the reviews here. Pictures will be attached. This is scary stuff. Groupon, BBB, and the bank have been notified. I'll start off by saying that I am not one to complain about bad service or trash a company just because my experience was bad..but I also see other people left reviews on Groupon that had similar experiences and I'm actually quite shocked Groupon has not banned this merchant from their site. I bought a Prenatal Massage & I had quite a few questions to ask before booking my appointment. Sketchy vibe #1. No one will ever pick up the phone, even if you leave a message they will only text back hours or even days later directing you to their website. So with my questions not being answered I went ahead & booked my appointment which requires you to put down a REFUNDABLE $20 deposit iust incase you no-show/cancel last minute (totally fair) So when I arrive the door is locked, blinds closed & lights off. (its 113 degrees outside & I'm 9 months pregnant) so I knock & knock then I call the number, no one answers, I leave a message, no one texts or calls me back then right as I'm about to leave a guy peeks through the blinds & takes about 2 min just to unlock the door then says to me that he was "laying down". I'll be honest, he looked completely stoned out if his mind & or he just woke up from a dead sleep. So I'm in the room & notice there's no music playing but loud disturbing sounds of a spooky forrest with hooing owls & crows cawing.. I'm thinking maybe it'll change to some different sounds.. Nope, it was on repeat the WHOLE hour. What I cant get over is that the massage was not relaxing/was NOT a Prenatal Massage. This was a hard trigger point sports massage that requires you to breathe through the pain (normally I would like this kind of massage but not at 9 months pregnant) at this point I'm embarrassed/internally laughing at my experience, so I lay there on the table assessing...He spent close to 15 minutes just on my left shoulder blade/neck area then spent less than 5 minutes on the right side.. he moved down to my right calf/foot & was there for awhile then completely skipped my left leg. He didnt massage my arms, hands, hamstrings or thighs (even if your focusing on certain parts of the body you still massage the whole body) I actually liked that he didn't use much lotion when massaging but when he was finishing up he coated his hands in lotion and rubbed it all through my scalp/hair. He also set an alarm for when the hour is up which I thought was unprofessional. And YES I could have spoken up anytime but I was already so weirded out before the massage even started that honestly saying something wouldnt have made it any better. I contemplated the whole time on how much to tip him because it was so cringe worthy. After, I handed him $10; he then asks me if I want to add that $10 to the $20 deposit as a tip..I said "no thank you I would like my deposit back" (he obviously was offended) but agreed that he would refund the $20. It has been over a month & I still haven't received my deposit back, I texted multiple times & no one has gotten back to me. If the massage was amazing & I felt like he actually put effort into it I would have given him at $50 tip. It's not about the money but the principal & the fact that this company is just so off-putting/unprofessional. WARNING: FRAUDULENT BUSINESS I wish we had read reviews prior to purchasing a package online - we had the same issue as many have outlined here. We paid, but were never contacted. We tried calling during business hours from multiple phones, left multiple messages, and never received a call back. We finally got a hold of the owner via text, but couldn't get the massage scheduled. After several days, we requested a refund. He said it would take a few days. We asked for confirmation, which we never got. Never received the refund either. The owner stopped responding and we cannot get a hold of him. Given the other reviews, this is not a one-off case. This is a fraudulent business and deserves to be shut down. I just finished filing complaints with the Arizona Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, Arizona Board of Massage Therapy, and the Better Business Bureau (where there is already a case, as I found out). I will be leaving this review anywhere I can find his business as well. Philip may try and respond that "this is not how it happened" or I "left out how rude I was" (see his other comments). I purchased a Groupon for the 60 minutes couples massage. After going back and forth via text with Philip I had to pay an additional $20 as deposit to book the appointment. I did, but then I was rescheduled 3 times. The communication is poor and unprofessional. I decided to get a reimbursement for my Groupon and explained this to Philip. I asked for my deposit back and he agreed to send it back via PayPal. Since I was not getting it I asked for an estimate of when I would get it and he replied that I would get it by 10/6/2020 because he had to pay his rent. I waited and here we are on 10/7/20 (a week later) and nothing. I sent him another text and a request for payment but he just simply stopped replying. The lack of compromise makes me wonder about their actual protocols of hygiene and their professionalism when giving massages. This place is anything but kind. I went to buy a Groupon for a couples massage because it seemed like a great deal for a massage and facial and I was even willing to drive the 40 minutes from my house to go there. However their customer service alone gives them a one star review. First off, they don't even answer their phones when you call and that is the only way you can get in touch with them. Then when you leave a voicemail they text you Four days later with a text you can barely understand. And then when they finally do respond their texts are short and rude and when I asked if we could both have female therapists, she told me "no I can do that." and to "cancel". Thankfully I waited before buying this Groupon or else I'd stick with something I can't use. No rhythm to the massage, more just of "oh here is a pressure point, hold and done, next pressure point." I have had many massages before and by far the worse. Do not waste your money getting a massage from this place like I have done. Better places for same pricing. Also, the "relaxing music" was far from relaxing - it was something you would listen to at a Mexican restaurant. Philippe suggested I try to get a refund and book directly through him, and he would honor the Groupon rate. I was able to get a credit from Groupon so I did that. I agree with some other reviewers that the owner of this company is very unprofessional. I also purchased a Groupon, which was for a one hour and 30 minute massage. When I called the business to schedule the massage, no one answered or called me back. I later received a text stating: "I'm not doing any Groupons right now because they locked me out of my account and won't contact me why." So, this vendor refused to accept the Groupon I paid for and I had no choice but to contact Groupon. If the owner is refusing to accept Groupons that people purchase, I can clearly understand why Groupon locked him out of his account.
