This was not just a bad massage--it was an appalling, humiliating, and deeply disturbing experience that should serve as a public warning. We booked a beachfront couples massage in Maui and instead were dumped in a garden area with people walking by, no privacy, and no semblance of professionalism. I, a woman, was told to undress in public under a thin, translucent sheet--in full view of strangers. My husband was told to do the same. No changing rooms, no curtains, no dignity. The "massage tables" were covered in reused, stained, foul-smelling sheets that felt like they'd been pulled off a beach towel rack from the previous week. Hygiene was nonexistent. The staff clearly had no real training--my massage was so aggressive and careless it triggered sciatic nerve pain I've never experienced before, despite years of massages elsewhere. We booked a couples massage and were not even placed together. Afterward, drenched in oil and discomfort, we asked for a shower or any place to change. The answer? No showers. No changing rooms. Dress in public under the same dirty sheets. And to add insult to injury--they charged my card twice. This is not a wellness business--it's a scam operation masquerading as a luxury service. They violate basic health codes, ethical standards, and customer safety. "Beachfront" meant we were in the grass part of in the middle of a hotel complex. People were doing yard work around, people were talking on their balconies, and people were walking around us. It was very public. Also, we had to undress there. It was really uncomfortable. On top of that, the actual massage itself was the WORST I have ever received. She did not ask my pressure preference and it was like a light back rub that did not even feel good. I cannot imagine that she has a massage license. Had such a great experience with Massage Maui while staying in Kihei. Fortunately they were conveniently located in the Sugar Beach Resort, so if you stay there it's super easy to get to from your accommodation. I called and asked if I could book any availability, fully expecting for them to be all booked, and to my surprise, they were able to have me booked for 90 minutes deep tissue massage with Chi within 2 hours. The massage studio was right in the center office area of the complex. Chi did a wonderful job of working out tension, great pressure and attentive to feedback. I had mentioned I had some mild sciatica and Chi carried out some stretches that really helped relieve a lot of that nagging pain Left feeling massive reduction in shoulder & neck tension. Lisa is a straight shooter and did what she promised. I decided to schedule as we wanted a beach couple massage. Here is the difference, some places wanted your firstborn to secure an appointment. Lisa did not do that and they practice business from an Ohana lens. No upfront fees, and added so many perks! For those (no shower and last-minute cancellations- don't ruin it for the rest of us)! We booked a beachside couple massage and when we got there, it was super windy -tradewinds. They gave us an option to move inside. We were reluctant but glad we did because they added in hot towels, hot stone, and aromatic therapy! Apparently, these perks can't be done outside. The massages were better than our luxury resort and the mainland. Don't underestimate Co and Anetta's skills! Being in healthcare, we both needed to get kinks worked out and they did just this! Booked a couples massage, but decided to leave immediately because.... first of all booking the appointment was strange via text. The person was so wishy washy and seemed pushy. When she confirmed the appointment she didn't even try the time right despite the back and forth on the text. Upon arrival to the place, the sign on the door stated to go around to the other store front for entrance and then we were told no go back. When we entered the massage place, no one was present to greet us and we looked around and noticed everything was dusty and dirty looking. As we sat waiting, a woman showed up and was not very warm and welcoming. The environment was not appealing or calming at all. The room where the massage took place was partitioned off by a collapsible partitioned wall which didn't feel private enough. When I made the reservation, the receptionist suggested that we make it in the morning because it won't be too hot. So, we agree on 10:00 am. My husband and I show up at the scheduled time and Antoinetta starts to escort us to the room off the lobby. When I asked why we weren't going outside she had a defensive tone and said it's too windy and they didn't have a cabana ready. I would have been fine with that explanation if she was forthcoming about it. But, she was just going to ignore the fact that we reserved a beachside couples massage and just pretend that we didn't request that. That is what is not acceptable. The place is run-down/shabby, and I know they can't control what is going on outside, but you could hear weed-whacker for some of the 1.5 hour massage. It wouldn't be fair if I wasn't completely honest - Antoinetta gave a great massage! My husband requested a deep-tissue massage and wanted a "forceful massage" with a lot pressure and he was very happy with his masseuse!! I am giving them 1-star for the sheer fact that Antionetta wasn't going to acknowledge that we requested a beachside massage, she just wanted to push that part under the rug. I scheduled two massages for my wife and I on the first day of our anniversary trip, showed up and we were there 2-3 minutes before the nervous therapist introduced herself. She kept making excuses and finally put us in rooms, my wife went with the present therapist, I waited.and because the other person wasn't there, she flitted back and forth between us. The other therapist finally showed up +15 minutes late. She did a massage that only comes in second to the worst massage I have ever had. This is in part because she was late so no connection or asking if I had any trouble areas. I ended leaving not much more relaxed than I arrived. Messed up my shoulder while on a business trip, and decided to see if these guys could do something to help before getting back on an airplane for a really long flight. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very unprofessional business. There is no dedicated receptionist, you talk to the person (who is very nice) in the nearby tourist center who texts on her phone to the owner, who evidently can't be bothered to attend her own business or pay for a receptionist or therapists to remain on site. There were no therapists available, and after walking around the building, I was actually relieved. It's a horrible location, in a really bad strip mall and with a lot of noise. Great massage from Jessica! It's unfortunate she got double booked because I sure would have loved an hour and a half. She incorporated Lomi Lomi and Swedish techniques to really get the knots out. An hour is usually $95 but I was lucky to receive the kama'aina (locals) discount. With therapists as good and tuned in as Stephanie L. and Ginger, it does NOT matter. They are 10 stars, so, if the facility is a 1 star, its worth my 5. Im not there for "serenity", Im there for BODY WORK. Both are superb! Any disturbance is easily tuned out with the expert touch of a great healer. If you need tranquility, go somewhere like Luana in Hana or pay $250-300 for a treatment at Travassa. If you want REAL muscle relief and body healing, both of these wonderful therapists come highly recommended. Get some earplugs or use earbuds for your music. read more

Let's start off with the cons: -No restroom in the facility (how can you be a "spa" with no restroom?) -No separate private rooms, massage tables are separated by curtains and blocked off by folding screens. - we booked the "chocolate madness" package but didn't get a single drop of chocolate product used on us - the "facial" was not 30 minutes, it was something I could have done at home by myself, in fact the massage therapist actually told me I could do it by myself - no latte or mocha offered as advertised. Just a glass of water in a wine glass that had been sitting on the counter when we arrived - noise from the restaurant and outside made it impossible to relax - when I complained, the owner offered to make a "gift basket" of the products that were supposed to be used on us and said the latte that is usually offered didn't happen because she had a family emergency and couldn't get them so told me to call her from starbucks?! - cobwebs on the ceiling OVERALL ... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I WILL be contacting the BBB to report this. Pros: The worker was very nice. I was staying at the Sugar Beach Resort so decided to book and massage at the conveniently located Massage Maui through their website. The door at the main entrance was propped open so I went in and was startled to see a man in the middle of his massage, very uncovered (thank goodness he was face down!) There wasn't a sheet or wall or anything blocking the view of him from the main entrance/reception desk!! I ran out of the entrance/reception area very confused. A sign on the back of the propped door said to try going to Maui Sights and treasures store around the corner so I went there and the doors were locked and no one there. I called the Massage Maui numbers- the first one was busy, but after I called the second someone called back. The last that answered eventually found their appointment schedule and said they did see my appointment but wasn't sure who it was with and thought that person may be on a plane, complained a bit about their website, then said to go back into where the naked man was to talk to the person doing the massage to get it straightened out. I explained that there was already someone getting a massage in the same room as the reception desk without a barrier, and I didn't feel comfortable going in and disrupting their session. She said to just go in and talk to the worker giving the massage-- WHAT!? So so awkward. It didn't seem appropriate to chat with her while there's some naked guy right there she is massaging. We spent about 15 minutes on the phone as she tried to sort things out, but it didn't seem like there was anyone available to give the massage. I finally gave up. Really unprofessional, awkward experience. Waste of time and I wouldn't have been comfortable getting a massage where the door is propped open and people are coming in and out. read more

How do I give negative reviews??? Okay...first off I never actually had massage services from here...but here is what happened with my encounter with this so called masseuse establishment... Made a couples massage to be on the beach and let the woman know on the phone we were on our honeymoon and it was our last day on the island so I wanted this to be really special. My husband and I arrive and FIRST off the smell was terrible, a mixture between food and essential oils, the building decor is awful and far from a relaxing environment. SECOND there was a man who just finished with his massage and he is at the front desk trying to pay and leave. Super awkward encounter with him and the woman working there, about payment, a bunch of confusion ensued between them for over 5 minutes while we're sitting right there having to watch and listen. THIRD another woman walks in, doesn't even acknowledge us and walks in the back. She comes out and only asks if we need to use the restroom, which we did, however it was completely out of the building down a long walkway. When we get back the woman proceeds to try to show us to our masseuse room and I explain that I actually made a beachside couples massage. FORTH issue...she responds "oh you know that is extra?". Yes I do know that, that's why I why I spoke to a woman yesterday and asked her all my questions and scheduled the beachside massage. FIFTH she says okay well we're not set up for that it's going to take 5 minutes extra to get that ready. She leaves and goes to the beach to set up. Then the woman who was behind the counter says "I've never done a beachside massage so I have no clue where I'm going". SIXTH issue...I try to explain to her that I'm not feeling very comfortable about the start of this experience...and she says to us in a super moody tone: "I've been doing this for 30 years I know what I'm doing, I've just never worked at this location before so I just don't know where to go, but I've been a masseuse for a long time, trust me I know what I'm doing." Okay...now we're really not feeling relaxed with the tone she spoke to us in on top of everything else. I tell her we're going to go somewhere else as we just aren't feeling very comfortable, relaxed, welcomed, etc. She just says "are you sure?" "Um yes...sorry to waste your time."
