That's because this place has Luna. Luna is an absolutely excellent masseuse. I always book my appointments with Luna. However, right now, Luna is on vacation. Won't be back until like May or something. That's why I tried a new masseuse here, Linda. So glad I did, because Linda is an absolutely excellent masseuse too! I recommend you book your next massage with her! Just to be clear, all the masseuses here are very, very good. Earlier in the month I booked a massage with Emma and I was 100% satisfied. Emma is very good. TBF, I wouldn't hesitate to book an appointment with any of the masseuses that work here at Orange Health Spa, but if Linda is available, I'm definitely booking with her. I usually get a deep tissue massage and didn't know what a Thai massage so had to look it up. The internet indicated you remain fully dressed so I inquired about what clothing to wear, and was told that you actually get undressed. I was greeted upon arrival. After signing the forms they provided a pair of slippers to change into, and led me to a room. I requested the Thai combo massage, which incorporates Thai and deep tissue massage. The masseuse asked what pressure I wanted, and I requested hard pressure. I also mentioned my shoulders were extra tense. At times it felt like the masseuse was building up the pressure because in the beginning I didn't feel the pressure much and then I would feel more pressure. Some of the stretching positions felt a little odd, definitely need some getting used to. At the one hour mark, I extended the session to 90 minutes and mentioned to do more work on my back since my shoulders were still tense. Overall it was a good experience. I did feel some relief but I had hoped she focused more on my shoulders since I did mention that it was tense. I think for my tense shoulders I may need to stick with deep tissue massage since I feel that does tend to loosen up the muscles more. Parking is in the back, the entrance is there as well.

She was amazing but she moved out of state recently and of course I was forced to try someone new. Went to Coco a couple of times and she was just as amazing. Coco was booked tonight (she's the manager) and so she suggested that I book with Lisa which is who I was suppose to get a massage with only to have a bait and switch when I arrived and had to go to Amy instead. I was peeved but decided to trust Coco since she knows me and what I like. I thought I'd be in good hands (no pun intended). Amy gave the worst massage I have ever had. She asked if I wanted light or medium. I like medium touch but honestly she was just rubbing skin, barely applying any pressure, slapping on oil. and phoning it in. But the kicker was towards the end of the massage, she puts cloves on to massage my feet, NEVER have I had a body massage with cloves on (except a pedicure). AND, this is AFTER she massaged my body with her bare hands the whole time. Makes no sense. THEN, she took paper towels and rubbed the oil off of my feet which felt like sand paper scrapping my skin off. I really should have just stopped the massage so it's partly my fault for letting her continue. BUT, I figured I would just tip her less and call it day. I've always tipped 30% on average, EXCEPT for tonight when I handed her a 10% tip, (honestly I wanted to leave no tip). She pointed to the NEW tip chart with a range saying she wanted more. I was livid. My intention was to be quiet about this b/c I've been going here for so long and I figured one bad massage over the years wasn't worth the complaint BUT b/c AMY forced the issue, I was forced to let her know (and now you, here on yelp) that it was the worst massage I have ever had and b/c she demanded more of tip, she needed to know that is the REAL issue and she got exactly what she gave. I told her that I've been a client for 6 years and I will never come back again. I will make sure all of my associates and friends in Ventura never step foot in this establishment again. On top of it, I had one of those punch cards for every massage you get, it adds up to a free foot massage which was almost full. Amy grabbed it and said she'd give it to me at the end of the massage. Needless to say I didn't get it back. LOL. Not that it matters now cause they lost a long time client. Oh & btw; I'm a licensed Massage Therapist myself for 24 years so I'm very careful with feedback b/c everyone has their own style and touch. Its subjective. Right? In all the years as a Massage Therapist, I've never demanded that a client tip me more. And that's the issue. The quality of service is determined by the discretion of the client. Period. And if this business requires a "set tip" then it needs to be built into the price of the massage. This tipping chart is brand new btw and I was completely unaware until I decided tip below what I normally give.

Overall I totally needed a massage. I've certainly had better, but this was ok. I wish I didn't have to switch to a room for the body, and I didn't realize I would have to strip down too. So it kind of broke the relaxing part. What I found weird was though I kept my underwear on as I always do, the masseuse push them down my butt further. I think I was at full moon! And most of the time she wasn't even close to my lower back. And normally they would provide coverage, so I was a bit chilly. Fortunately I'm not one to be shy, I was just curious as to what was going on. So!!!! If there is ever a next time...I'll just stick to the foot. I just don't what to break up a session by moving, and maybe question if the full mooning is necessary =P The staff was nice tho, and the facilities clean and well-maintained.
