Very happy to write an updated review for this place! I've been a customer here for almost ten years now. I've tried at least a dozen other local massage places and I've found none better. That's because this place has Luna. Luna is an absolutely excellent masseuse. I always book my appointments with Luna. However, right now, Luna is on vacation. Won't be back until like May or something. That's why I tried a new masseuse here, Linda. So glad I did, because Linda is an absolutely excellent masseuse too! I recommend you book your next massage with her! Just to be clear, all the masseuses here are very, very good. Earlier in the month I booked a massage with Emma and I was 100% satisfied. I am really trying to do more self care and needed a massage after many tense, super rough weeks. I got on Yelp and found this place. My good friend was down to come with and we got the massage together. There was no one else that was in the shop on a Sunday before Memorial Day. I felt extremely comfortable despite only having my bottom undies on for the massage. Since they use oils they suggest to go all bare but I wasn't quiet there yet ... lol. I chose a strong massage as I wanted the deepest massage possible. From head to toe , I feel very kink was worked out for an hour. Prices have increased from what I saw in the other reviews . I enjoyed my massage. What I am not happy with is the tipping situation. When asked how much I wanted to tip, I told them $12 each for myself and my husband (our massages were $62 each) and she said "so 20 each?" I corrected her and told her I wanted to tip $24 total, so $12 for each masseuse. So what did she do? She added a $40 tip on top of our massage total, when I explicitly told her no I wanted to tip $24 total. I am not happy and I will strongly consider not coming back to this business again. Mind you, I just finished my massage 5 minutes ago. UPDATE: Judy the owner reached out to me early this morning to apologize for my experience and offered to refund me the portion of the tip that shouldn't have been charged, which I accepted and have received. This was my first massage and it was amazing! Staff was very friendly and my masseuse was very professional and checked in with me throughout my hour long massage. I was a little concerned given the reviews about the tip expectations...but there was no awkward interactions when it came time to pay. If you're curious I did end up tipping $20 on my 60min massage. Cost per hour $60 cash / $62 credit - PLUS $10 MINIMUM REQUIRED tip - (they keep this sign covered up where they have the massage prices on the front desk and then reveal it when you go to pay. Sneaky and for me uncomfortable. I like leaving tips - but when it's mandatory, the price of a massage is actually $10 extra dollars. The massage was ok. Our experience was was we first waited in the room for 15 minutes before our person had walked into give us our massage if you would call it that. Only think they used was there elbow the whole time. Can people give some input on what a reasonable tip amount would be? I find it that every time I go to get a massage, they really show and sometimes mention how unhappy they are with the tip. Isn't tipping optional? And also, for a $60 massage, $10 tip is almost 18%. I've given different amounts varying from $10 to $15. $12 is 20%. I find it very uncomfortable that they say things about it and look at the bills like it's too little. Sometimes $10 is all I can give. Trigger Warning: Bed Bugs I was going back-and-forth about writing this review because I hate giving a low rating to a small business. But considering the consequences to future customers I need to be honest. First off, the massage was great and I thought the price was super good. Leaving the parlor and returning home I was planning to make it my regular spot. However, when I woke up the next day I was covered in bug bites. In some regular places like ankles/legs and arms, but the were also unusual bite trails along my torso & neck. I want to give a disclaimer that I did not see a bug live time, but after reflecting on all of my actions the day I got the massage + considering my outfit that day covered most of my skin, I can't help but think it came from this massage parlor considering the location of the bite trails. I'm only writing this because I want other's to be aware of the possibility. My ex-housemate brought bed bugs into our home by bringing in old street furniture without my permission. I would have given a lot to have avoided the nightmare of heat-treating the house & throwing most of my possessions away. I don't want to put this business in a bad light. They are very nice and the massage was good, but I know that I would really want someone to inform me. Please be aware of the possibility and ramifications if you decide to go. I will never return because I have experienced a beg bug infestation and will avoid experiencing it again at all costs, but I truly hope that the business is able to heat-treat the space and continue to grow. read more

Overall I enjoyed my 1 hour massage. Called ahead of time to make sure it was ok to drop in. Lady on the phone was nice and was able to schedule with one hour notice. Upon arrival she gave me water and had me sit in a comfy chair. Keep in mind this place is basic but does have private rooms. It's nice and dim with relaxing music playing. The masseuse was polite but doesn't give instructions. She just left me in the room but that's ok this wasn't my first rodeo. She was pretty good, surprised me with hot stones and hot towels. Finally found a top tier massage in Ventura! I have been to several massage shops around Ventura and Orange Health Spa is by far my favorite. My wife and I usually opt for a $60 minute couples massage and have worked with Luna and Lucy, who are fabulous. I would not go into your experience expecting a luxury spa massage because that is not what this place is about. And as a result, I will no longer be referring this location to my family and friends. The massage itself was absolutely amazing - Luna is wonderful at what she does & that is something I will continue to stand by. I left the massage table feeling relaxed and rejuvenated as usual. However, when I went to the front to pay, the lady who emerged to take my payment kept insisting I leave a larger tip. This made me uncomfortable and left me a little disappointed. I have been coming here for years and have never experienced anything like this before. I understand that tipping is appreciated, but the pressure to give more than what I was comfortable with (as well as the attitude of the woman who took my payment) was not something I expected, especially from a place I've always enjoyed. This was quite an experience. I am not sure that it is for everyone and I myself was not certain at first, but the results once I left had me amazed. I will say that this is not the most comfortable massage I have ever had, but the results were incredible. She walked on my back and dug her hands of steel into my shoulders and down my back and for 90 minutes, therapeutically rubbed out any issue I had apparently ever had. I am a 50-year-old heavyset woman and she was so kind and considerate and asked me the entire time if the pressure was OK and if I was comfortable. even when it was a little painful, I trusted the process and when I got home afterwards, I realized that I could lift my arms above my head for the first time in years. I have had shoulder pain for the longest time and I was able to lift my arms clear up over my head with no problem at all. It was a miracle. I can only credit her for this. I would recommend this place as something to at least try because I was strongly considering surgery before this. I am very grateful. Also, I called at 1:30 on a Monday and they were able to get me in at 2 o'clock. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it felt really special. It is very clean, and they give excellent massages. It is easy to use a disclaimer and blame a business for your problem. You already admit to having bedbugs at your residence and it is hard to resolve. Don't blame your problem on the Orange Health Spa without proof. This place was OK, definitely not the best. I'm not from the area and gave a ballpark time. She blew up my phone with 2 calls and texts within 6 minutes of not arriving because I got held up at the coffee shop since they got slammed. The front lady is nice. The massage is not what reviews make it out to be. I voiced on *several* occasions how her pressure or technique hurt on my legs. She kept doing it and kept mentioning me to relax. Foot and face massage was better. They accommodated with paying via Zelle but the front desk lady seemed pestered by my $10 tip which is of utmost disrespect and unprofessionalism. A tip is based on someone's experience (which was alright), not an expectation. I don't recommend this place. If you want an *incredible* massage, please look at my other review in the area I made. Whenever I want a massage I want it that day but usually the higher quality places don't have walk in availability. I decided to give Orange Health Spa a chance and I am so thankful that I did.
