As a client this place is beyond over priced, as an employee DO NOT WORK HERE!!! The owner is beyond unprofessional and disrespectful and treats everyone like just a number not a human! Zero communication is returned from owner when contacted! Injuries obtained at work are disregarded no incident reports or care what so ever from owner! Massage therapists are not allowed to have access to past soap notes (client charts) so god forbid something legal comes up which falls on the THERAPIST not the owner therapists are unable to have access to those client charts and screwed in the end! When this issue about the no access to client charts was brought to owner she couldn't care less or give any intention of trying to help fix the issue or find a better way! When corporate was physically in house in person they all stated to employees to not ever hesitate coming to them with any questions or concerns so they can help uemployees out, however when an employee did have to contact them due to being ignored on issues by the owner multiple times for multiple days owner got angry and said do not ever contact corporate which is beyond shady behavior! No room for growth or any incentive or appreciation shown and raises are not a thing! When an employee was diagnosed with a serious health issue which could lead to effecting work and asked to speak to owner about it and brought it up to owners son on management team it was completely disregarded! Employee hours being cut without reasoning or even a conversation and had to figure it out on their own by looking at schedule and was told that owner has been trying to talk with employee about things that need to be addressed and a meeting day and time was set up with owner to do so and owner couldn't care enough to even show up yet then cut employees hours! Issues that were needing to be spoken about were petty and in personal life and had nothing to do with the job what so ever! I'm posting this review with reluctance because I absolutely adore my MT at this location. I maintained a membership for over a year and had to cancel in Oct 2024. I actually spoke to their manager, Haley, who was understating of the situation. She even told me that I had 3.5 hours on the books to use. Further she advised if I was not able to utilize them within 60 days just to let her know and she could reinstate them. Fast forward to mid December when we called to book an appointment. Haley got on the phone and advised the only way I can get those hours back is to sign up for another membership. After multiple phone calls with Haley and false promises escalating to the owner, I found they attempted to charge my card again in December, months after I cancelled. This is after they have refused to allow me to use the 3.5 hours that I have already paid for!! Even after cancellation, they charged my credit card in November, December, and January! This is so unprofessional and money-grabbing on their side!! Haley essentially called me a liar, refused to allow me to use my hours, did not own up to any mistakes that they have made on their end. If they make a mistake in the booking, they are completely happy to charge you for the hours. I arranged my schedule one day to come in for a micro derm facial. Low and behold, they did not have somewhere there that could do the facial. They talked me into doing a routine facial and a massage Nothing was done to make up for the mistake. Never did manage to get the microderm session. Do not trust this place. All they want to do is take your money. I'm sure they'll do their little tap dance when they respond. read more

I've been going to this location for years now. During that time I have found many exceptional masseuses. While they are all very qualified I sometimes have to try one or another to find one that's right for me. Unfortunately, they sometimes move on and I'm left to search again. I've recently connected with Pam W. and she is amazing. It never ceases to amaze me how they can feel your troubled areas and actually repair them. Pam is exceptional at this! Rosie at the front desk could not have been anyore hospitable and set the mood for the entire visit. After filling out information on an iPad, I was able to use the luxe Aqua massage table which was amazing. After my 10 min session, I was escorted back to meet my therapist, Jam. She was phenomenal! We cancelled and they refused to let us use our last hours, even though our contract had hours and days left (we showed up for appointment and we're turned away) . They can't afford hand sanitizer in the front, and make you go to the back dirty bathroom (which everyone touches the door handle) . They wear their masks under their nose. My son bought me a massage for Mother's Day. I left an outstanding review as my massage therapist was phenomenal. I was talked into this membership. I was very thorough with my questions as far as reoccurring payments, and was assured that they only took the first month payment out and after that, if I decided to stay with it, I then would sign for monthly withdrawals. I can't stress enough that I was very thorough on my questioning to make sure this was how it was actually going to go because I have four children and money is very tight. Long story short this is now the second month they have took out the money and between what they charged me and my overdraft fees they cost me over $100 for nothing as I have never even gone back. I would give a zero for the servise at this spa. My daughter gave me three gift cards for 90 minute massage for mothers day. I was super happy.....till I tried the place. 90 min is a dream service of heaven. Not in this case. I had a masseuse that spent all 90 min without touching my legs and arms.......I never knew some masseuses do this kind of massage. I am a runner and a gardener. My legs and arms need massage the most. So next time I asked for another masseuse and while it was somewhat better it was mediocre. I have one more gift card and a couple of months I have been trying to schedule my appointment unsuccessfully. I got a phone call the day before my scheduled massage that the masseuse left the spa. Rescheduled again, but the masseuse got into car accident, third time I showed up at the spa just to find out the masseuse is not in that day. The day of the next appointment I got a call that masseuse was affected by hurricane............which in Sarasota was not even a hurricane but a storm a week ago and could not come............We live in Sarasota and there was not any serious damage after the storm. I have a very nagging feeling that something is not right with this spa. Masseuses are leaving it, they spend 90 minutes rubbing back, impossible to schedule appointments, service sucks. By the way, I am a good tipper, it is not the tips that makes service mediocre. I have also been using other massage parlors for a few years and they all are much better customer service and massage quality. And less expensive. After a diff experience I had to change my review from 5 stars until 3. I was seeing Emily regularly and she was awesome and then she was away one weekend so I went to her co worker. An older lady that said she had been an Esty for years and it was awful. Unwilling to refund the money I asked to speak with a different manager (AJ) regional manager we was quickly rude and hung up the phone and never answered my returning calls.Their is NO corporate ladder to call with this company you hit a wall and get no satisfaction.If the owner of this franchise location reads this your management fails you badly.(I did NOT use profanity or curse in any way to these managers for the record). I would give it a zero star review if I could! Worst place I've ever been to. Arrived 15 minutes prior to my massage for the hydro luxe table session, as they advised me to do. When I got there, she told me I couldn't do it until after my massage. Waited for a while and it was after 7 PM and still to therapist or anyone to tell me they were running behind. I walked out front to see if they forgot about me and the sweet receptionist went to see what was going on. She came back and told me that he was "covid cleaning" the room. I went back and sat down. About 5 minutes later (now almost 7:15) and this disgruntled older gentleman comes down the hall and I hear him start talking sh#% to the receptionist about me. That was classy. The masseuse then proceeded to come into the waiting area where I was sitting and wouldn't make eye contact and he shook his head at me in disbelief that I had asked about him running behind and mumbled something. Totally inappropriate, unprofessional and rude! At that point I had had enough! I have been to so many massage places and NEVER had a therapist run late or that was rude. I walked out. I still can't believe the way they acted. There was no way I was going in for a massage with someone who was that mean. It was such an awful experience and I can't imagine how this place keeps people coming back. The whole thing was a joke. From the screw up about what therapy I was having first, the wait and then the getting treated poorly because this man didn't know what time it was! I have been going to ML on subscription for about a year. There have been a couple misses but for the most part, this place is generally on point and a great value! Today, I just had one of the best deep tissue massages of my whole life. Kevin is well educated in exercise science. My muscles are jacked up from doing CrossFit for a couple weeks and not only was the massage great, but he engaged me in some highly beneficial stretching. Truly a great service. read more

My experience(s): - From experience, I asked for (and was told I would have) a therapist certified (or licensed, whatever) in hot stone massage. Wording is important to them as you will see from one of my other experiences. Had to stop the hot stone massage midway because, among other things, the therapist kept grinding my bones with the stones. Turns out he was certified. - Even one week ahead I can never get the time slots or therapist I want, or sometimes even an appointment. -Given the above point, I called more than a week out, requested two services back to back on a Saturday. I get a confirmation call on THURSDAY confirming my FRIDAY services. I tell them no it's Saturday. They argue. I told them they made the appointment based on the esthetician's work schedule; she did not take appointments after XX:00. Girl responds that, since I said XX:00 I must have made my appointment for Friday and it was MY mistake. -To use up my hours, I gift a friend with a massage and facial. When we check out they tell her I can only gift one hour and it's $20. I told them that NO ONE told me that when I signed up, AND when I made the appointments (two weeks out) I told them I was gifting 2 hours and no one mentioned this. I was told to look around me, the were all new faces because the former staff didn't know what they were doing. I give up. I ask for a refund of my membership fees due to all of the above. Nope. For now, my account is frozen so it's only costing me $5 a month until I can: a. get an appointment that they: 1. don't screw up 2. have times available and technicians that won't hurt me. read more

I arrived early for a massage, waited until about 15 minutes after my 2PM scheduled massage, and was informed that the massage therapist was a no show. They asked if I wanted a male therapist instead, and I reluctantly said yes because he was the only one available. The whole massage was rushed, I was lucky to get 45 min for an hour massage, was offered no water at exit, and didn't receive a hot towel (every other time I've received a hot towel) during the massage not didnt get my head or scalp massaged (a first). When I went to pay, the girls up front asked how it was, and I said it was very short and rushed. All they could say was next time we will make sure you get the requested masseuse, they thought I went in at 2:12 (not accurate, but still got out at 3:05) and they apologized. Really? We should always get the requested masseuse who we have an appointment with. Why is good customer service so hard to come by these days? Does anyone train their employee to know how to handle these situations?Maybe the offer of some water, an actual hour long massage, or something? I purchased a GROUPON today 8/19/2020 and I called them to make a appointment for the massage. They young lady I talked to was very nice and after giving her my c.c. number numerous times we finally make if for that Saturday 8/22 at 4 pm. She proceeded to tell me the protocol as to calling them when I arrive filling out health answer. When she told me about wearing a mask and that when I have my massage I then can take it off face down. Well I told her I wear a shield and that I have a ADA which is a certified disability act. I cannot wear a mask only a shield. She put me on hold and when she came back she informed me that they could not service me. Really I HAVE A (ADA) DISABILITY FORM. Sorry I talked to the manager and owner and she said no. WHAT THE HELL DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHEN YOUR GIVING ME A MASSAGE FACE DOWN AND TELL ME YOU CAN HAVE YOUR MASK OFF OR SHIELD? As far as I'm concern they were being prejudice against my disability for having to wear a shield even though I have a ADA disability act. I will never visit this place nor will I SUGGEST TO ANYONE TO GO TO THEIR FACILITY. Go to the one on Tamiami Trail nicer people their or I should say owner. read more

The massage was okay, nothing to brag about. I asked for a deep tissue but got a medium pressure instead. The concerning part about this place is that they try and trick you into paying for a membership. The clerk explained to me that if I paid $10 then and there it would fund my next hour-long massage, and i had two months to cancel my "membership." Of course I agreed, I would be crazy not to accept a $10 massage, they have you check a couple boxes on an iPad and sign your credit card away. One month later I was changed $60 for my "membership." When I explained to the manager that's not what was explained to me when I was there, they told me that there's nothing I can do, and they can't refund me because their system won't allow it since a month has passed. Currently waiting for them to get back to me so they can "mail me a check" it's ridiculous that I have to go jump through hoops to get MY money back when THEIR clerk made a mistake. Again, overall experience was mediocre, but their customer service sucks, and the stress of dealing with them afterward is not worth the $40 Groupon. If you do decide to go here though, just tip your massage therapist and leave, don't get hustled into a monthly contract. read more

If there were negative ratings the lakewood ranch location would receive them. I came here as my sister paid for me to get a massage for my birthday, they tried to get me to sign up for the membership and set an appointment right then and there. I told them i couldnt set an appointment until i knew my work schedule. They signed me up for the membership and told me if i called within 3 business days there would be no penalty to canceling. I called the next day to tell them i did not have any time to make it there and i did not want my card to get charged for the membership. For three months my card did not get charged then all of a sudden my card was charged for $195.00. I called to ask why my card was being charged as i called the next day telling them i would not be coming back to cancel the membership like they said they would do. The lady i spoke with said i was all set to go and she was sorry i couldnt make it back. Karina said they had nothing in their notes on my account about me calling to cancel. I showed Karina (the manager) my phone records that i called and was on the phone for 28 minutes with them. She told me there was nothing she could do seeing they had no notes about the call. After a few days i called back to speak to her again, she offered me to refund 2 of the 3 months i was charged but i needed to come and sign paperwork to cancel my account. So i did. I signed the paperwork. She then tells me seeing i have already canceled my account there is no way i can receive the refund. I only did what she told me to do. Im am absolutely furious with this situation. If the owner of this location is to see this, Karina is very rude and does not explain anything. From the beginning it was a mistake on their end which they refused to take ownership for. If you are the owner and see this i hope you are happy with allowing your staff to do things like this to people. read more

Massage Luxe has a tremendous amount of turnover with their massage therapists. Additionally, they switch your appointments with specific therapists without notification until you arrive.. Not to mention, none of their therapists know how to give a true deep tissue massage. read more
