I come to this location regularly. The front desk is always very polite and professional. My partner and I have a membership with massageluxe. I have had deep tissue massages by about eight different therapist all but one therapist I would rate above average. I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage by Cassandra. She was excellent. Sometimes female massage therapists can't quite get deep enough on a deep tissue. Cassandra had no problems. I rebooked with her in two weeks. It was that good. I booked my partner at the same time slot with Jesse. I have had him before and he is very good. Overall, if you go REGULARLY, the membership is definitely worth it. My sister's massage was given by a masseuse named Johnathon, who was rude throughout the service. That alone should never happen in a spa environment. To make matters worse, the front desk staff treated my mom poorly when it came time to pay. The payment and tipping process was strangely complicated, and instead of helping us understand, they were dismissive and completely unaccommodating. It felt like we were inconveniencing them just by asking basic questions. I signed up for a monthly massage membership here through the Crunch Fitness promotion. The advertisement clearly showed $55 per month, but when I joined, the front desk rep insisted it was $65. I trusted what they told me and ended up paying the higher price for five months, only to later realize I was overpaying compared to what was advertised. On top of that, the massages themselves were supposed to be 60 minutes, but every session ended 10-15 minutes early. One masseuse even asked if I wanted a scalp massage when I said no, they just stopped the massage right there instead of finishing out the time. When I canceled, I was also hit with another surprise in the fine print (which was never mentioned at sign-up) it says you only have until a certain date to use any remaining credits. Between being overcharged, receiving shortened sessions, and the lack of transparency about credits, I feel like I did not get what I paid for. He called me in on the hour and I was out of the room at :50. Don't market it as a 60 minute massage if 15 minutes of that is not actually part of the massage. The front desk staff was so amazing. I called to schedule and the person who answered the phone was Kaleigh, she was so kind and had a great phone demeanor ensuring my needs were met with the right therapist to support my needs. She was so knowledgeable and professional. When I arrived, the front desk was so well prepared for my arrival, it was such a smooth check-in process. I was quickly taken to the holding area with a warm welcome and offered the restroom and beverage. The facility was so clean and smelled so good! My wait time was so minimal before I was taken back for services. The checkout process could not have been better. They were so personable and efficient! The management was so wonderful to interact with as I was checking out! I was scheduled for a Facial with Alexis and she was amazing. She made me relaxed throughout the entire experience, was very communicative, and created a facial specifically meeting my needs/wants. My actual massage was fantastic! I purchased 2 of their Groupon deals for One 60-Minute Standard Massage and One 15-Minute Hydro Luxe Massage for myself and someone else. My masseuse (I don't remember her name, unfortunately) was conversational, but not too much so I was able to really relax and enjoy my experience. She was great about checking in with me on whether the applied pressure was to my liking. She also made recommendations for ways I can soothe my muscles in between massages which I really appreciated. Upon entering Massage Luxe, we needed to complete final paperwork on the iPads they gave us and the person at the front desk asked whether we wanted to wait in the lobby or lounge area so we chose the lounge. However, the room already had a couple of people and their children in there making it nearly impossible to socially distance (not to mention children aren't supposed to be in the area behind the door in the very front from the lobby). Overall, the staff seemed a little disjointed, like they didn't communicate which customers were ready, or next in the queue to go back. I enjoyed a Swedish massage with Francesca which was really relaxing and therapeutic. They check you into the lobby and then take you back to a quite room to relax before your treatment. You also fill out all of your information on an iPad during this time. Normally you would have access to tea or water but due to covid that is not available. I would bring sanitizer to use after you complete entering the information on the iPad as it was not in the quote room to use When you are taken back to the massage room the space is like any other massage room. My room was in the very back near the bathroom or break room. I could hear doors opening and closing a lot and toilets flushing so I wish the music was louder or I had another room. The massage itself was really nice. I asked for light to medium pressure as I just wanted to relax. She focused on my back and neck like I asked but still did full body so I was able to enjoy the full experience. I would ask for Francesca if I returned again in the future. This was a groupon purchase that was supposed to come with a hydrobed massage as well for 15 minutes however I was not taken to this area after my massage and was just asked to check out. I showed up and was told the massage therapist was a "no call, no show" and that they weren't able to contact me because "the phones were down." Note, they opened 2 hours prior to my scheduled appointment. Absolutely horrible experience with this establishment. Came in for one massage and was talked into a membership. All good my fault for signing up for it. After moving I took the time to go into the branch to cancel said membership. I was told I could only cancel with a link that would be emailed to me. When I got around to looking at said email the link was expired. I cancelled the charges with my credit card company, and now get weekly text messages about payment not going through. Also have talked to the front desk multiple times, where they tried to convince me to keep the membership bc of my "credits" and when I said I didn't care was told I would be cancelled but still continue to get the charge attempts. Today I called and was told I'd have to file into the branch. I'm sorry isn't that what I did originally?? I understand corporations want to make it hard for people to cancel reoccurring memberships bc that's how they get rich, but there needs to be options for someone to cancel when they are attempting to. My Husband brought me here for a massage because my back and legs were in severe pain... let me just say that he booked a massage for the both of us and when we got there the massage was only for one person. We traveled for one hour to get massages only to be disappointed... So usually I enjoy a massage with peace and quiet... BUT not this time... the person that provided my massage (Wendy) talked the ENTIRE time... showing me pictures of all her children, and grandchildren of her phone. She went on and on and on about all these conspiracy theories about Covid, the government, religion and her race... and let me not forget to say when I got there she kept telling me to take off my mask, over and over... she seemed really Rapey! (No Means, No) I literally felt like I was in the Twilight Zone! To make things worse, she really went deep into my arms and when I told her that it hurt, she told me "lemme fix you baby" let me just say it's been 2 days and my arms hurt sooooo BAD! They are not sore, they are actually in an immense amount of pain and I have bruises all over! This has been by far the worse experience I've ever had with Massage Luxe! Such a frustrating experience. I signed up for a membership here. After about 6 months I canceled because the massages I had were BAD (I am talking pressing on my spin instead of my musicales bad). The facials I had were okay. They were relaxing but they weren't improving my skin at all. I canceled and was told I had 60 days to use my last package. About 30 days later I tried to book a facial to use up my last package and they told me I had 60 days from the last BILLING DATE. Which passed 6 days prior. So I'm now out almost $70. They offered for me to pay for another package at the intro rate of $55... like no thanks I'll just cut my losses. The girl I was speaking to happened to be a manager and said she would have the regional manager call me if she could do anything. I will post an update if she contacts me. read more

We came here on three separate occasions and it has always been a hit or miss. The ambiance is nice and the staff was friendly but the experience overall was subpar. I enjoyed my massage with Heidi and she was firm. I felt refreshed afterwards and enjoyed it a lot so props to her! My wife and her mother did not enjoy theirs. They had James and another masseuse (female) but they both complained that the masseuse was not firm enough despite voicing multiple times how soft the massage was. To make matters worse, when I paid at the end for my mother in law, the massage was $48 and I asked to pay 15% in tip. The clerk charged me $13. She said she thought she heard me say 20%, which was completely untrue. Even so, 20% would be $10 and I paid closer to 27%. When I asked further, she said that the 15% tip is based on an average rate since they offer a variety of services and prices. The $13 tip was based off a rate of $85. It's true that at the end of the day it's only a few dollars, but I would like to be told the truth what I am being charged and have control over how much tip I paid. TL;DR, massage was subpar and be aware with how much you are charged in terms of tip. We won't be coming back again. read more

I went in with a splitting headache, rather desperate for relief. I get horrid migraines / cluster headaches that last for days on end. I get adujusted which helps greatly but if I can't be seen my head its just awful. Massage can help if I find the right person. I went in on a coupon for $38. I saw Cathy and she was amazing. She really listened and did what I needed. And she gave a full hour. I hate these places that give you 45 minutes or less because you have to take your clothes off. Seriously if I'm paying for an hour I want an hour. The other is bullshit. Then when leaving I didn't realize it is a place you sign up for every month. The girl kept "expalinging" the deal to me but seriously I said it three times "Can we go over this tomorrow?" I was not in any shape to comphrened or to make a decision like that. I was told no. After that it was going to cost me $110 a massage vs the going rate of $65. That is total bullshit. I do not know of one place that an hour massage is $110 an hour. $65 is the going rate. So I left. It's a shame because I would have wound up using Cathy one or twice a month but I'm not going to sign up and only be able to do it when they say I can etc...for the going rate or have to pay twice in order to have one massage. Do not sign up for their monthly membership anything. I canceled my monthly membership in December 2018. Throughout 2019 I kept getting charged for freezing my account monthly. I came into the office again in the summer of 2019, believed I finally settled my issue with them after signing cancellation for at least second time. They charged me $5 a month for months and finally when I came back into town from being out of town for months, they were closed and agreed to cancel it for the third time. Guess what ? This is a company that is designed to separate you from your money using bad massages as the lure. A few months ago I really needed a massage. I went in and in the process of arranging my massage they convinced me to sign up forvw monthly plan. I used it for a few months and if the 3 massages I got I really only felt that one was a good one. For this reason I decided to quit. I waited until my renewal date to do so. Each month, they moved the renewal date up by 1 day. I signed up on the 18th, a month later they billed me on the 18th but the following month it got posted on the 17th and because I was concerned they would do that again I froze my card on the 16th. Turns out it was a good thing I did do because they tried to bill me on the 16th. I called too try to cancel that day and was told is have to come in person to cancel. I was unable too come in on the 16th or 17th but on the 18th I came in person and asked to cancel. I was told my account was delinquent and I could not cancel until I paid for another month. I proved to them that they were mistaken and showed them the previous transaction dates but they did not accept reason. The only reason that we do not have a real problem is that I had the foresight to freeze my card before they could snatch another month from me. The first one my masseuse (female) brought togo boxes of Chinese food into the room from next door and the odor filled the room. There was also some kind of weird Tom & Jerry soundtrack music playing the whole time which was very stressful. I thought this may be a fluke, so I used my second 60-minute session and to my surprise was actually worse than the first. This time I had a male, who proceeded to talk the entire time about his breakup with his girlfriend. He did not even touch my feet, arms, hands head or shoulders. I highly, highly recommend her. She gets five stars. Then I went to the hydrolyxe dry water massage. It was amazing as well. I had never heard of this before and I absolutely loved it. After being massage for an hour and 15 minutes there was absolutely no stress in my body and I felt amazing. When I checked out I was asked if I wanted to book another appointment. I said I would call back I needed to check my calendar. Then came the sales pitch (I think she was a manager, not sure) As a nonmember a massage would be $100 but if I joined for $65 a month, blah, blah, blah... I stopped listening at this point. I was enjoying the feeling of being completely distressed and really was not in the mood to hear a sales pitch. This is the reason for the one star. If they had contacted me after I left it would've been different. But I do not appreciate getting a sales pitch right after a relaxing massage. It is not good customer service. My wife and I have been going to MassageLuxe at this location for about a year now. Out of the 20+ masseuses I've visited over the years I found two of the best here. I'll talk more about this later. First to address some negative reviews. I have never had an issue with their membership program. I pay $59/month and get one, 60-minute massage plus unlimited access to their HydroLuxe water massage table which is great if I need some relief between massages. Sometimes I wait 45 days and get a 90-minute massage or pay an extra $22. They also include a monthly facial in this membership which I do not take advantage of. Their membership is straight-forward and I have to believe some people aren't reading the fine print or telling the full truth when leaving these reviews. I cannot speak on previous reviewers behalfs, and I don't know the full scope of their situations, but Brie and the other woman at the front desk are some of the most pleasant professionals I've met. Second, MassageLuxe is a franchise. It's not fair to tie the owners of this franchise to some psycho in St. Louis. The owner is a very kind, soft-spoken woman who I respect and frankly admire for her entrepreneurial spirit and professionalism. I have been getting monthly massages for about three years now ever since my middle-upper back started getting tense. The two women that I get massages from are Heidi and Elena. As I mentioned earlier, these women give the best massages I've ever had. Heidi is one of the most passionate masseuses I've ever met. She specializes in lomilomi (Hawaiian) massages but is also great at deep tissue. Both my wife and I go through her on the regular and enjoy every minute of it. We have both talked about our experiences and concluded that she caters each massage specific to each client and their situation. My wife likes a softer Swedish-type massage and I prefer a deeper tissue. She does both very well. Elena is exceptional at deep tissue massages. Similar to Heidi, she does not have a set pattern she follows every time I visit her. Instead, she is able to work out knots by coming back to them periodically and massaging them from a variety of angles. I have come to her with some very large knots, typically around my scapula's, and she's the only masseuse who has been able to work them out in one 60-minute session. Overall my wife and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences at MassageLuxe St. Pete. It can be costly after tip, but it's very similar to what you would spend at any other place plus you get the luxury of using their HydroLuxe table. Additionally, if you take advantage of their 60-minute facial, the monthly membership is much cheaper than what you would spend elsewhere. If I recall, you can try them out before getting a membership so you know what to expect. I have not tried to cancel my membership, but I honestly cannot see their staff giving me a hard time based on prior experiences. I had a monthly membership with MassageLuxe. I requested to cancel and they never informed me there were forms and never sent them, but stated I was good to go. The next two months, I was charged again, as it was never canceled. I called and was understanding of the error on their end, not making a big deal, and requested cancellation again, ready to use my credits. When I called to schedule and use up my final credits that I paid for, they let me know they were expired on exactly the day I called, and refused to accommodate; even though they never canceled when I requested initially, and I called on the exact last day I could still use my credits. Had a great massage today with Lydia and can't wait to have a Facial with Nehal again. Both are the best that I have had. Luxury Spa, but no soap or toilet paper in bathroom and when I asked about a bottle of water after service. I was told they don't give out water and it was said like they had never given a bottle out in the past. I have had a membership for two years or more, and never experienced anything negative till today. Hopefully, they will be back to normal next month. read more
