First off, the location is convenient on Central and there's plenty of front and side parking by the building. The receptionist was also very nice and checked me in pretty quickly but not right away. They have good specials running especially on their $20 Tuesday's. I got an express facial for $20 and it lasted just over 30 mins. The price is definitely right but I think next time, I'll upgrade to a deeper clean facial because they just cleanse your face and put a mask. But the basic facial doesn't include extractions. Basically everything that was done, I could've done myself at home. But it feels nice to be pampered by someone else. Also, I couldn't give this place 5 stars because the esthetician was a bit too rough on my skin. I am used to more gentle touches especially on my face and eye area because the skin is tender and thinner there. The place was clean and there were a lot of small rooms. This place fit me in within 24 hours - that alone deserves applause! It's off a fairly busy road, and its almost a nondescript building, but once you go inside, its more comfortable. The service is awesome & the prices are great - win/win! My massage was 90 minutes and she worked the whole 80 minutes that they allot for a 90 minute. It was very relaxing the entire time - hence a relaxation massage. My only complaint was that I circled my 'problem' areas - one being my calves - and they were barely touched. I have been to this spa several times and have never had an issue until Monday. I scheduled a 90 minute relaxation/swedish massage after a long week of work travel. My therapist was Naomi and things started off well until the pressure became too much. I had requested medium pressure as I normally do anywhere I get a massage. Having some tender areas Naomi insisted on a digging her fingers into my muscles as her technique and when I complained that is was painful and I was moving around in agony she said it was only a level 3 pressure and not hard at all. This continued for a while and I continued to grunt in pain. I was relaxed when I left but was not prepared for what came next. 48 hours later, I am bruised. In so much pain that it hurts to sit in my car and drive because any time my waist makes contact with the seat, my skin and muscles are on fire. My arms and shoulders are so sore, I regret the moment I scheduled this appointment as it has harmed me more than helped me. I called yesterday and spoke to a supervisor who lightly apologized and said she would credit me a massage and speak to Naomi, the therapist as well as the owner. I offered to send her pictures of my bruise but she did not seem too concerned with it. I have no desire to return to Massage Spa ever again. read more

My boyfriend loves massages and we got quite a few while we were in Thailand and he has been requesting one since we've returned. We found out that The Massage Spa, located very nearby us, had a couples special on Sundays, $35 per person for a one hour relaxation massage. What a deal! We were planning on just heading over there, but we gave them a call and they were fully booked for that Sunday so we made one for the following Sunday. It was wonderful! We had Naomi and Monica (I think were their names) and it was perfect. Naomi really wanted to know what areas I wanted worked and Monica tailored the massage to my boyfriend perfectly. If that had been our only experience, I would give them 5 stars. That experience was so good, we decided to go again, about 4 weeks later. We made the appointment before we left The Massage Spa that same day, and were told that we could request the same therapists (which we did) but that they may be off that day since the schedule wasn't made that far in advance. Totally understandable. So a few weeks go by and the day before our massage, the receptionist calls me and asks if they can move our appointment an hour later due to a mix-up with the massage therapists schedule. Told her no problem at all, and we were excited that we would be receiving the same ladies. We arrived and checked in and went back to the back lounge and saw both Naomi and Monica walking around and setting up. Then Monica comes out and calls someone else's name! Five minutes later Naomi did the same. We were a bit confused, but then "our" therapists came out and took us back. I can't remember their names unfortunately, but mine "forgot" to do one of the backs of my legs and refused to keep me on my stomach the whole time (Naomi had done that last time and it was perfect). She also spent about 5-10 minutes out of the hour just rubbing my face and scalp (which to be fair she asked me if she could do, but I didn't realize it would be for so long!). Other than that it was an enjoyable experience. Then we went to pay, and were told the price had gone up - from $35 to $44 per person. Now I know that's not a huge difference but we had made the appointment before the price had changed and hadn't checked again since, so it came as a bit of a shock. So between the therapist scheduling and the price hike, I doubt we'll be back. read more

I am not a massage aficionado, but this is probably the first massage place I have returned to. The prices are very reasonable. Much more so than "big box" places like Massage Envy. I have been getting massages more often this last year after being in a car accident then being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. There are some days I am in so much pain, I can't get away from my heating pad. I never have a problem getting in for a massage same day, and I always feel like a new person after. My husband and I now get massages about twice a month, when it used to be once a year, because we both consistently have great experiences. However, after leaving we were contacted with a resolution that was more than expected and definitely resolved the problem that occurred. Still a major inconvenience but it happens. In an era where customer service is rapidly declining and where most people don't take responsibility for their mistakes; this was a nice turn out. Every business gets it wrong sometimes. However, knowing how and being willing to do whats needed to make it right, in order to retain your customer base, is refreshing. I had a 10k today, and I had been searching all week for the right place that would make time for me last minute before my race. I got a full hour of a deep tissue massage (I always felt cut short at other places) and felt completely rejuvenated. Don't bother, what a disappointment. I had a 9 pound 6 ounce kid 11 weeks ago and my upper back is in quite a bit of pain between carrying this giant kid and my humongous body that came with pregnancy. I'm in town for vacation to introduce this pooping monster to my parents and decided a massage was much needed. I searched here on yelp and found this place. I thought sure, I'd give it a chance. I tried calling, a fax machine answered, I hung up and thought maybe it was a type and went to their website and tried the number there, fax machine. Ok, maybe they forgot to switch the phone over, whatever, I'll drive by. We show up and ask to make an appointment. They book it for me and my mother for 3 hours away. We killed a few hours then made our way back. I made sure we showed up a few minutes early so we could fill out the paperwork and be responsible. What a waste. We wait. 10 minutes go by. We wait and I am getting hungry, so I devour a mint they had in a bowl near by. 20 minutes go by. About 6 people have come in and have been taken to rooms since we sat down. 10 more minutes go by. Someone who just walked in is taken to the back. We get up and walk out. They even had the nerve as we walked out to ask us to pay for our treatments. I said, hello, you never even took us into a room and we have been here for an hour. What a-holes. I am loyal to businesses when I get good services, but in this case, I never got a service and I'll never go back no matter how many times I visit my family. read more

Let me first start off by saying, the massages were very nice. The lounge is up to date and cleanly. The trouble happened after we left. Massages were done, walked up to pay, were handed a receipt with the appropriate amount, signed and left. 20 minutes later my boyfriend gets a phone call being accused he didn't pay for the services. I watched him pay and sign. They ask that he come back up there to prove payment and show receipt. Not happening, as we live twenty minutes away. They opt to provide us an email to send a copy of the receipt; and give us a call back. Come to find out the cashier handed us a receipt for the wrong couple. It wasn't our fault, and on top of this, they didn't offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience and incorrect ACCUSATION of not paying for services rendered. Disappointed in the lack of empathy and no remorse as they just said thank you hung up. Not sure I'll be back, which is unfortunate as we both enjoyed our actual massages. read more

I'm not terribly experienced with spas and massages, but we booked this place for a couples massage and mani/pedi during a getaway weekend to St Pete's. We were searching for something a bit more resort-like, but prices out by the beach were ridiculous and my Yelp community seemed to rate Massage Spa well. My wife said the prices were comparable to her usual places in Buffalo, so we booked it. I must not be a massage person, as in the three massages I've had, I never feel any different when I get up from the table. It's a nice relaxing feeling being worked over, but I don't walk out feeling reinvigorated or with a spring in my step. So, I can't really testify to how great the massage was. I didn't not enjoy it, but it didn't change my life. Mani/pedi was a new experience for me. The best part is the exfoliating and massage. I'm not a fan of the nail file or trimmers. But, it was a couples experience and I enjoyed bantering with the women doing the work. Overall, a fun experience but I don't feel any loyalty to return. The facility is simply OK, and could be dressed up a little nicer. If we do this again, I'd like to find a place that truly feels luxurious, as this felt a bit pedestrian and stripmall-ish. My 4-star rating is really for the price and kindness of the staff. The overall experience is probably more like 3 or 3.5 stars, but I'm not an expert in this field so I'll be kind! read more

John Scott is amazing. He did a combination of neuromuscular, deep tissue and other modalities to work out the knots in my shoulders and neck. I was in a car accident and have seen many massage therapists and John Scott is the only one that seemed knowledgeable enough to not make it worse! He was very professional and looked at the wall away from me when it was time for me to flip over. I felt at ease with a male therapist. He said that he can work the inside of my mouth (with gloves!!) to work out any TMJ problems too on my next visit. He is amazing and for $59.00 for an hour, well worth it!! The Massage Spa itself takes walk-ins but I prefer to have an appointment. The hours are 8am to 10pm every day so I never have a problem getting in. The decor is nice and I love the cookies. The regular Swedish massages are $44 and no monthly membership fees like Massage Envy. read more

I showed up, filled out their forms, and met the female therapist whose name I have forgotten. I told her I wanted her to concentrate on my lower back and hips. She asked me whether I wanted relaxing or deep tissue and I said I only didn't want it to hurt, and I was ok with either 30 or 60 minutes. She disappeared for five minutes, came back and told me she "didn't feel comfortable" doing a relaxing massage only on my lower back and hips for an hour, and left. That was it. A wasted hour. Maybe I just ran into a weird therapist, but I won't ever think of going here again. read more

I don't know about the others but she was truly truly great, she gives a great massage but takes it further by taking care of the little things too. Minimal noise, not leaving you unattended for one second; she makes everything flow together seamlessly. I will not be back. My masseuse was not up to par. She billed me for a relaxation massage, but it was so soft and weak that when I asked her to raise the pressure, she said we were now in deep tissue territory, which was bullcrap. I've gotten Swedish massages that applied more pressure than her supposed deep tissue. I didn't love her attitude either. I think her name was Angie. I'm not sure but she had a snaggletooth. If your therapist is blonde with a snaggletooth, ask for another therapist ASAP! Otherwise, only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the setup is pretty nice and my wife has gotten decent massages there. But my personal experience was lame. read more

We were looking for places to get a massage for 4 girls last minute the day before my wedding. I found this location not too far away from the hotel we were staying at and we called to make an appointment. They were able to get all four of us in at 1pm. The staff was friendly when we came in and we were quickly taken for our massages. My therapist, mason, asked a few questions about where I had pain and recommended he focus on neck and shoulders due to he pain being mostly there and my lack of massages. I was disappointed for a second thinking I wanted a full massage, but he's the expert so I trusted his judgement. I was definitely right to trust him. He was amazing and always asked me to let him no if the pressure was good. My headache went away and for the first time in a long time the stress on my neck and shoulders felt lifted. All of us had a good experience with our services. And the best past? 1 hour massage was $44!! I've been to higher end places and gotten much more expensive massages that weren't nearly as good as this one. I go to The Massage Spa once a month for a massage and facial. The staff who does my treatments are wonderful and worth every penny. I do have a few complaints. For a spa that is open seven days a week, I suggest you purchase some quality spa wraps for your clients to wear. On Saturday, I was given a large hair clip to hold my falling apart wrap together. It had been washed so many times , it did not even cover my body from the age and shrinkage. Not sure who the manager is there ? The front desk staff could use some etiquette manners, as they are never very friendly and happy to see you, when checking you in or out.
