Service, quality, and vibe, is always amazing here. Everyone is so laid back and accommodating. They all really try to do their best to ensure you are receiving the service requested. I visited here 2 weeks in a row for a 90 minute massage each time. I played roulette and didn't choose a masseuse, I just booked with whomever was available at the time. Both times, I was not disappointed. The only thing I don't like is the membership. I feel like you get sucked into it and you never get out of it. Before you know it you have accumulated so many hours that's almost impossible to use. This was my first visit to this location and while the massage was adequate, I had a very unpleasant experience. When I mentioned I was allergic to Lavender, the very thin massage therapist talked about her food "insensitivities" and how unhappy her "inner fat girl" was because she was no longer able eat diary, wheat, etc.. I was shocked that a) she was talking about food sensitivities and b) I'm an an obese woman. At the end of the session outside the reception area, she asked me if I had any issues or concerns. Not to embarrass her, I very softly and gently pointed out that her comments about her "inner fat girl" were offensive. She immediately dismissed me saying "agree to disagree" and she was asking about her body work. When I tried to explain this was fat shaming and that for some large women it takes a lot of courage to have body work, she got loud, went into the reception area and stated she never wants to work with me again. Despite my initial intention to keep this to myself, I then felt obligated to explain what happened because the young woman clearly doesn't understand how comments like "inner fat girl" are offensive. What started out as private feedback to support this young woman to develop sensitivity to what it is like to be an obese woman (which in my case happens to be because of autoimmune issues -- not from eating diary, wheat or sugar, or any refined carbohydrates, which I also do. It eat), it turned into drama. I will not be returning to this location. I hope management can get through to this young woman the damaging impact of her comments but I also hope she doesn't lose her job for the sake of her two year old at home, which is why I tried to give her the feedback privately. read more

I actually started my membership in Florida, but was super excited to find this location when I move here 5 years ago. I tried another location, but this location has some really great therapists. I don't want to give away my fave therapists because then I might not be able to get booked with them (lol). Swedish, firm or deep tissue massages are available. They also have add-ons like aromatherapy and foot scrubs. They also do giveaway drawings throughout the year or gift certificate specials. Front staff is great. Sometime there are long waits on the phone, but the massages are worth it. If you are looking for a new place for massage, try MassageLuxe (any of their locations really). Ask for a gift certificate from friends or family, that way you can try it out. Then you can decide if you want to sign up for a membership. Beach, VA but have been going to another Massage Luxe in the area because I like the the therapist. I've been a member of Massage Luxe for about 2 years. I've been satisfied with the overall service. There have been some good therapist and some ok therapist. I reccommend thay you try different therapist to find one who works best for you. They are good with scheduling appointments when you need them. If you tend to stick with the same therapist, you might have a little trouble booking an appointment. One thing I've noticed is that the therapist don't spend a lot of time on your feet. I had a family emergency come up the day one of my appointments were scheduled and I had called in and the woman I spoke (Marquita) said she would cancel my appointment, apparently they never cancelled it and I was charged for a service I never even used. I then reached out to the "manager" Madison who is anything but helpful. She basically said sorry you had a family emergency but we won't be able to reschedule your services??? I went here because I have a few gift cards to use. First impression not great since I walked in with no one at the front desk for over 5 minutes. Another customer waited too but ended up leaving. Turns out she was cleaning the bathroom and stocking toilet paper. OK. My massage therapist was great and very sweet. She was easy to talk to and worked me out really well. So in that aspect it was great and she was great. The thing I do not like is they mark up the hourly massage rate so high to try to force you into a monthly membership that on included 1 massage... and a facial which I don't need. $100 an hour without the membership for a massage is frigging crazy! It's hot out. Be sure to grab a water before leaving. this location has Great staff that are always courteous. I've just started coming to this location while the equipment at the MassageLuxe near me is fixed. The facilities are modern and cozy with dim lighting and spa music playing ever so lightly. The lounge offers a cozy couch and chairs, art, reading material, a fridge with chilled bottles of water and all you need to prepare a hot cup of green tea (in ceramic mugs). Massage-wise this place is average. I had a membership for an hour and a half and paid $78.88. I feel like with all chains or popular massage places is that they skimp you on time! In fine print they say that each appointment has a built in 10 minute consultation automatically. And on top of that, I've had MTs still skimp me even more on time. The consultation is "what's bothering you today?" If you see the same therapist over and over, it becomes redundant and not time efficient. I've gotten massages, facials, and hot stone massages. All services were fine with no hiccups. I enjoyed my time here as a member, but I'd rather pay a little more for better quality. Also, $80 for a 1.25 hour massage isn't all that cheap, so I didn't feel like I was saving. read more

I had all intentions of going in to use my credits on my account and cancel my membership since my last few massages at another location had been pretty terrible and I honestly didn't even realize I could go to any location. Well this location is closer to my new house so I decided to use tHe last of my credits up here and I'm glad I did. Making my appt was even a better experience than normal as she was very thorough to ask if I had a preference of who did what and what kind of massage and facial I wanted - should be pretty standard I'd think but it wasn't always. I had Leann for my massage and she was amazing - I actually feel like i got a massage and she definitely worked some areas the best she could since I only did an hour (should have known to do longer work how bad I knew I was - my fault for sure). I had Beth for my facial and literally my only complaint about her Is that we realLy didn't do a consultation like I'm used to, however I did already specify what kind of facial I wanted on the phone so I can see why she wouldn't have done the consultation. The facial was amazing though and seemed very thorough - she explained each step and what each product did. I've been a customer at Massage Luxe for two years now. They offer massages, facials, and waxing services. Pros: The building always smells amazing. The staff is friendly and the therapists are really good at listening to what you want. I usually go for a deep tissue massage and eyebrow waxing. I've never actually received a massage anywhere else, so I can't say if they are the best, but I don't think I was ever disappointed. The rooms are super clean, modern, and dark, which is perfect for relaxation. They offer complimentary tea and water bottles. Cons: I wouldn't suggest the hyrdoluxe massage because it really just feels like you're on a water bed with balls moving around inside of it. Not worth my time again. Also, be careful if you're considering signing up for a membership. A receptionist offered a membership and discount on that same day and told me I could cancel at anytime. I tried to cancel after finishing one month, but I was told I that I am allowed to cancel after TWO months. The receptionist did NOT tell me that. read more

I was helped by a wonderful person at the front desk who was able to fit me in immediately for the type of massage that I desired. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. They send you back to a nice lounge area where they offer you water while waiting. Christyn was my masseuse and she was OUTSTANDING!!!! She asked what my issues were and she treated them as such. When I was done, I felt completely in a state of relaxation which is what I wanted. If you become a member your first massage is free and you then pay about $60 per month for a one hour massage. Deep tissue or Swedish. You can buy more at a discounted rate (if I remember the brochure correctly). I don't think the cost is unreasonable at all, especially when you get a really good therapist who knows what she is doing. You can always tell within the first five minutes. My last deep tissue massage was with LeAnn and she worked some techinques on me that I had never experienced before. I have no idea what she did but I felt like a million bucks afterwards and for the next couple of days. She did a fantastic job. And remember to tip your therapist. They earn it. read more

Got a free massage as a present and what a good present it was! I have been long overdue for a massage and I was able to squeeze in an appointment on a last minute day off from work. I got to the place and was escorted to the waiting area where I was provided the option of either tea or water. Next, I met my massage therapist who introduced herself and how everything works. I got to pick my scented massage oil from a selection of 4 options. She asked me what areas I wanted to be worked on and told me to just let her know if she had to adjust the pressure. She did a great job and worked extra on my neck/shoulder area since it was especially tense. After the session, I got to try the HydroLuxe machine. You pretty much lay on a water bed and there's a machine inside that has jets to massage you some more. You can opt to do this before or after the "real" massage. Everyone was very professional here and I was very tempted to get the month to month deal they offer. It's a steal if you get it when you use the groupon! read more

THEIR "NO-CONTRACT" CLAIM IS NOT 100% ACCURATE!!*** I originally received a gift card as a birthday present which covered the cost of a facial, massage, and membership. I was told there was no contract and that the monthly fees charged to my credit card would cover 2 hours (1 facial, 1 massage) each month. I thought it was a great deal as there were no cancellation fees and the hours would accrue each month and could be used whenever I wanted. After the initial visit, I never returned and called to cancel my membership only to be told that I would have the option to a). use my 6 hours within 30 days or lose them b). pay a reduced rate to keep my hours or c). continue to pay $88/month. Ultimately, I chose to cancel and have spent the last 30 days trying to find time to squeeze in 6 hours. I tried calling several times and was finally redirected to a online request form. I scheduled my remaining 6 hours only to be told that the times I selected were unavailable. Between work, kids, and working all the way in Norfolk (trying to make it to the Chesapeake location by 5 pm on a Friday) is a hassle. Now I am losing out on hours that I have PAID FOR, based on a contract that doesn't exist, a policy that wasn't explained, and poor scheduling practices. I should at LEAST be refunded for the hours they could not accommodate! read more

Now that I'm leaving the area, I've decided I'm going to write this review. I had a membership here for about 5 years now. 3 of those years I had my account suspendeD but they still drafted $5 every month. Ended up having about 4.5 hours of facial or massage time. Last time I used my account was last August and that was 3.5 hours of time I used. yesterday i went last minute to fully cancel my account and they asked me if I wanted to go ahead and use my hours. I ended up getting a massage from Dean within 5 minutes of arriving. Let me tell you! He was amazing. By far the best massage I've received there. I was comfortable, he was polite and personable, AND he didn't talk much-thank god because there are times when I just want to relax and my therapist won't stop talking! Anyway, I got a deep tissue massage and you know when therapists really dig in there and you feel like you have to get another massage because you're so damn sore from it? Well, that's exactly what Dean DID NOT do. He worked on those troublesome areas and the pressure was perfect. Not once did I wince or have to tell him that it was too much. I truly felt better after he was done. I know a lot of people out there have their preferences when it comes to what gender your therapist is but if you're not opposed to having a male therapist, I definitely recommend you seeing Dean! read more

I HATE high pressured sales tactics. These guys create a sense of urgency to buy their monthly membership after you get your first massage and ask that you make up your mind right away because "the special" is only available for a limited time (before you walk out the door). After refusing by telling them it wasn't in my "budget", they continued to pressure me. After going back and forth for a good 10 minutes, they told me I could call before they close to sign up for the deal after thinking about it for the next few hours (but only for that day of course). From my understanding, you can sign up for their monthly membership at anytime, but if you do it after your first massage, you get the first one and second one free. If you get frequent massages, perhaps this is a great deal for you, however, on the last occasion I visited, I wasn't impressed with the massage, although I loved the masseuse's personality and the rooms were very calming as well as private. I felt as though the massage was rushed unfortunately. Although I paid for an hour, my massage was cut short 15 minutes and she didn't exactly work on the areas I had specifically requested the entire time. Half the time was spent in facilitated stretching. I paid for a massage, not facilitated yoga. I left with the knots I came in with then had to deal with the high pressure sales from the front desk. Glad I got the special first timer rate because I would have been upset had I paid more. There are many other massage studios in the HR. With that being said, I won't be back to this one. As a tip, if you're going to take advantage of the first timer rate, plan to go at least 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork and be prepared to deal with high pressure sales. read more

I loved it! From seeing their commercial for a $38 hour massage, while getting a Mani and pedi I knew I had to come here. The location is convenient. Parking is kind of crowded since it's right next to Harris Teeter grocery store but then again I went to get my massage on christmas eve, yes my christmas gift to myself lol. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out the initial paperwork and went into a peaceful room to do so. Later I was called by my masseuse who took me to an even more peaceful room and told me more about my aromatherapy massage (just an extra $10). My aromatherapy massage was AHMAZING. First time for the aromatherapy massage and a first time at Massage Luxe. To end my experience off in an awesome note I now have a membership to Massage Luxe and received this service for free since I am now a member. The receptionists were also very kind and friendly! I've had two scheduling conflicts with this company in the matter of one month, and it's left me very annoyed as I have worked around the scheduled appointments and driven to the location only to find out they were cancelled. Also, I have noticed that the therapist cut at least 15 minutes off of your appointment by starting 5-10 minutes late and finishing at least ten minutes before the end time to allow you to dress. When you are paying four an hour massage, losing 15 minutes matters. read more
