I've also recommended this place to others. However, today's visit was very different. I was assigned a therapist named, Peggy. Per usual with my massages, I requested a focus primarily on my neck/upper body due to chronic neck pain. She immediately pushed back and told me she had to do full-body and doesn't do half-body, 90-min massages. When I tried to assure her that I routinely get deep tissue work on this area, including at this very school, she very forcefully responded, "Well, then you need to schedule with one of the other therapists who would be willing to do that because my work won't support that." She then flippantly told me about canceling and rescheduling with someone else. Her tone was so unprofessional and rigid, that it really caught me off guard. I could have overlooked this if she did some amazing work but, sadly, the session itself wasn't much better. She was not warm or gentle in her approach when moving from one area of the body to another. Instead of calmly folding and adjusting the blankets, she would fling them around haphazardly. At one point, she pressed so sharply on my elbow that I flinched, and when I reacted, she very condescendingly asked if my elbow was having pain before the session. When I told her it did not hurt beforehand, she brushed it off as being connected to my shoulder even though it was clearly from her overly aggressive technique. I've never had a therapist outright refuse a reasonable focus area request or be this rigid when asked. Most therapists I've worked with are usually willing to accommodate or at the very least try to work with you. Regrettably, this experience was both uncomfortable and disappointing. I've had so many great visits here in the past, but now I'm honestly not sure I'll return.

Over the years I've gotten a lot of deep tissue massages, and Ronnie's was the best I've had in ages. Walked out feeling like a limp noodle. My second massage was with another person, and while she did work a significant portion of the tension out of my back, I left that deep tissue massage with a few bruises on my legs and not feeling as awesome as my previous experience. There were…read moreso many things that warranted a 1 star review: - the first few minutes were used to get a bucket of water to soak our feet in. The water was lukewarm at best, they didn't ask if we were satisfied with the water temp - the next 10 to 15 minutes were used to give us neck and shoulder massages. We bought foot massage service for a reason, they cut into the 60 minutes we wanted for our feet - they tried to use cupping on each sole but the cups didn't stick, was very flimsy having a syringe like gadget to put air in the cups but it was broken; the technician even said his son was playing with it and they need to get a new one. Trying to get the cupping to work took away 10 minutes of our allotted massage time - I got a masseuse who was kneading too much that I ended up with bruises (see photo) - they normally have 1 person working there do they had to schedule an extra person to come in for our appointment. Because they were there and didn't have any more appointments, they said they can do our back massage. Didn't disclose that it was for extra so we ended up with services we didn't need and we paid more for what was already unsatisfactory experience. Will not come back and hope this review helps others beware!

Not a big deal, but may be an issue for some people. The shop itself is kind of small and intimate and there's nothing fancy about it. Massages don't need fancy! My massage therapist is amazing. Really really love her. She's a tiny lady but has amazing strength! I feel like a total jerk I can't remember her name.
