My family and I just recently moved to Bartow, FL. My son bought a vehicle that started to have issues with a loud knocking sound in the top part of his motor. I found Master Mobile Auto Doctor by a google search (Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews). My son called and spoke with the gentlemen named Gene about what was going on with his truck, was quoted $105.00 per labor fee and scheduled to drop his truck off on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He left a note as to what he did to the truck and to call him before proceeding with any work. The next day, Monday, July 31, 2023, Gene, called my son and stated that his engine was not getting oil to the top end of the motor. My son mentioned that his sensor was broken for his oil. He asked permission to take the top manifold intake off. My son said OK. Later that day, he called my son back and asked him to come by his shop so he could show him something. My son proceeded to his shop. He asked my son, there is no way you took of the top end of your motor off (actually argued) my son said, Sir, I did the work myself with his friend (who was with him). Gene said OK. Then proceeds to tell my son his cam (rod that runs through motor) is bad, and he only has two options, rebuild or new motor. My son was like there is no way it's the motor, the motor is strong. It's not getting oil, that is the problem. Well, he needed a day to think about that total of a new motor or rebuild and to talk to other well-known mechanics (head mechanic at Ford). Showed him the pictures and videos of the cam and its normal wear and tear for a vehicle that is a 2000 and not bad. He called Gene the next day and said, I want you to put a new oil pump in it and go from there since the motor isn't getting oil. The guy said "I am not doing that" you only have those two options (rebuild or new motor). My son said then please leave as is and I will come get my truck. Gene said OK. The next day Tuesday, August 1, 2023, my son goes to the shop with my truck to pick up his truck. Gene says, who's truck is that? My son said, my mom's. He states, oh your mom lets you just hot rod in her truck. (Personally, that is none of this guy's business as to what my son is driving)! As my son was leaving with his truck in tow, Gene stops him and says, "if you put a new oil pump and new rob barring's you will have a good motor". To me that is a slap in the face!!! Did he not recall that my son stated to put a new oil pump in first thing Tuesday morning, and he said he would not do that. He didn't want to perform the easier work and wanted to get my son for a "new motor or rebuild motor"! Who does that? He slapped my son with a bill for 4hrs of labor at a rate of $125.00 and then threw another 3% credit card fee on top of it, total of almost $600 due to the 3% fee. Let's not mention his website states a flat rate of $100.00 labor fee and no mention of a credit card fee of 3%. Also, lets mention his illiterate wording on his invoice. If you read your invoice, it makes no sense (example: "CHACK OVER FOR LIFER NOSE PULL VAL COVERS O..." "FOND WATER PIP NOT BOLTE DOWN"). Do not use this guy! Now I got my son's truck back, the guy did move the motor again as the cam rod is not in same position and now there was oil in the top of the motor which was not there as of Monday night when my son last seen his vehicle and instructed Gene to not touch it anymore. Highly disgusted that an older man would try and rip off a child who is trying his best to get his truck fixed. Worst experience!!!!!! read more

Had an issue w my car; thought it was my alternator but it was something else that Scott found the issue and fixed it for me. Incredibly thankful for him and everyone at the shop. Most places will do anything they can to add onto your bill including changing things that didn't need to be done but this is a great honest shop. read more

advertises a 39.95 all synthetic oil change on facebook and his place of business building wall, charged 59.95 . told me 39.95 is with coupon, does not say that on his building or ad.. did not mention if i have coupon for discount when i handed receptionist the key , after said he is not doing anything illegal, ethically he is a scammer. 2 vehicles = 2 amazing reviews! Red Dodge Ram - Took it in for 60k mile tune up, needed all the spark plugs (16 on 8 cylinder) all oils replaced, brakes inspected, full overall check. The cost of the repairs were half of what a dealership would offer. He is very transparent and will talk to you about the repairs. My transmission needed repairs and he helped me get that fixed for a fraction of the cost! Because of this he has earned my service on everything from small to large repairs on this vehicle! 2005 Kia Sportage - I needed to purchase a small vehicle for outside sales, Gene and his mechanics buy and rebuild and sell vehicles, this one was for sale! They have rebuilt everything on this vehicle from the engine, timing chain, water pump, brakes, air intake, fuel injectors, everything was done! I purchased this vehicle at 3500 and it was a steal! I have drove off the lot with a brand new rebuilt vehicle for $3500!!! Who can say that!!! I love Gene and the shop for doing what they do. I contacted this garage to repair my 2012 Honda Pilot. I previously had it at another garage and asked them if they could fix it because it was still not working. I had it towed to their garage and they gave me a price. after 10 minutes the owner, Eugene Davidson, called office and said if we pay in full, he would fix the vehicle , all inclusive, no more out of pocket till the vehicle was fixed. we left vehicle there on Dec. 8 and heard no more to Dec 20. called to say it was ready. We got a call 20 minutes later to say the vehicle would not start and he thought it was the computer. we told him we were going to have it towed to Toyota dealer in Winter Haven. we were making arrangements to have vehicle towed when he calls us to tell us it was 2 oil sensors and he replaced. we went to pick it up on the 21st and took it home. Due to being sick, did not drive car for a week. When we drove it , we could hear rattles . We found 12 bolts that were missing and we replaced them but the noises were still there, we called them and they said bring it in. we still had a week until warranty was up. we left it there for 4 more days and they said it was ready. We could see that the vehicle had not been moved and we took for a test drive and the same problem was there. The owner got a little testy at this point and told us " Just leave it here and we will take a look at it when we get time. . We said that was not acceptable, and he said "I"M RETIRED AND I WILL GET TO IT IN A FEW DAYS. At this time we got our vehicle and left. He has since stated that it was the other garages fault that a minimum of 12 bolts were missing from the engine, water hoses had cracks and was leaking coolant. The other garage DID NOT remove the head and repair valves and grind and seat them. This was the fault of this garage and their incompetent staff. To this day the car still has the same noises. Do not bother with this place. They charge high for incomplete work. I'm desputing a charge because the owner refused to refund my money when the same problem was still there after they supposedly worked on it. That to me is criminal. read more

I had the service my brakes last January. I had a squeal when backing up. I returned this year and the put all new pads on to eliminate the problem. Fully warrantied. While there they checked the rear brakes and I need them replaced also. They have a life time warranty on all brake jobs. I will always go there for service. read more

I brought my vehicle there since it was short distance from home . Oh boy what a mistake ! he's a crook , he's not to be trusted ! While I was waiting for my turn, more than two customers engaged in an argument with him about how he deceived them and overcharged them after he had their vehicles. He said something to caught you on his scheme, and afterwards it's too late ! He has hostage the vehicle . I was able to walk away , I left without saying nothing after what I attested. Not the service I expected $1487.00 for changing 4 o2 sensors and a coil And installing my spark plugs that I provided. They was some diagnostic Testing done but when I called to speak to Gene I was told he is not there come early in the morning and they didn't have a number for him that I could discuss this bill in the past I believe I received fair service but this time things were different I do not plan to use this service shop for any of my future repairs... the truck is running the same after the 1487.00$$ repair bill that they charged me. I've been to the Master Mechanic over the last few months several times to have my car worked on most recently the oxygen sensors in my car mini mechanics have looked at it and even a Master Mechanic here in Sebring couldn't figure it out but this mechanic figured it out did it last time and it cost about 80 bucks an hour but opposed to 200 something dollars and they couldn't even figure out where they were I was very happy I don't understand why this man is rated a 3-star when he should be at least a five star the work is excellent the people are friendly the most obliging read more

I would give him a negative zero. The owner Eugene Davidson, is very unethical and I started getting confirmation of it a couple of weeks ago. I originally found him as I was riding down the street, returning home from an outing. I was told by the car dealership that my Infinity needed a air flow meter and my daughter's BMW X-5 needed some electrical work & other work done. I know from experience a Master Mechanic is an expert and he would know foreign car work just as a dealership would. The problem with this mechanic is that greed took over and his professionalism and honesty went out the window. I've spent over $1500.00 within the last three week and our cars are in worst shape than when we took them. The last straw was when I paid him $324.00 for a replacement radiator on the BMW and he sent his guy to Walmart to pick up $ 10.00 J.B Weld patching compound for the radiator he was supposed to change. When I called him on it, he looked me in my face and told me to tell my daughter to bring it back so he could fix it. He was very rude, nasty and irate when I told my daughter to stand in eye-shot of them replacing the radiator. He threaten to call the cops on my daughter because we no longer trusted him and refuse to leave the car with him anymore to rob us. He has done a lot of unethical things from the 2nd time of us returning that I did not add all together until witnessing the patchwork he had done to our radiator when we paid for the radiator to be replaced. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking their baby's tricycle here, much-less your vehicle. He may have the title and the know how but his business seems to be hurting very bad for money or he is just a dishonest, greedy man !!!! I will be filing a Better Business complaint and I will file lawsuit with my attorney. I work too hard for my money and I take care of my vehicles. read more

I would actually give them negative stars if that was possible. We took our car there to have the engine rebuilt a few years back. We were quoted 2200 for the job and that was everything including parts. I paid $1500 down to start the job. The job took almost a month to complete but that wasn't the worse part. We had to keep calling and asking what was going on with the car. When the car was finally ready, we were prepared to pay the remaining balance of $700 when Gene out of the blue told us it was $1800 more than was quoted. So $4000 for a car engine that was 12 years old!!!! I could have bought an engine for $800 and just paid labor. When confronted about it he got irrate. Telling us it didnt matter we had to pay that amount to get our car out of hostage. We were never given a new estimate, I never signed a new estimate. I would think good business would be to ask the client if it was ok that it was going to be so much more money. A warning would have been nice, or even an explanation about why it was so much more money. No one ever called us to warn us it was $1800 more than we expected. Luckily I could pay it and get my car out of their business. But what would have happened if I didn't have the money? Just bad business all around.
