Convenient and timely tailor service, which I've had trouble finding in Memphis. The nice lady hemmed two pairs of pants for me (one lined, one unlined) for about $30 with a week's wait and a customary pressing - my pants were ready to wear when I picked then up. Shop is open on Saturdays and in the evenings (I think until 6 most weekdays) -- I'll definitely be back. I left a tip because I was a little confused about where to go - it's on the first floor of the office building (not the basement floor, which opens to the front of the lot and houses a salon). I saw lots of fancy dresses hanging up and saw someone dropping off a leather jacket for alteration, so I think it's safe to say this business can handle most of your tailoring needs! read more

While B'Trice is a great seamstress, my experience with her business was nothing but discriminatory and homophobic. My wife and I took our wedding dresses to be altered about 3 weeks before the wedding. I told her over the phone that my partner and I were coming it to get our dresses altered. When we showed up, she seemed confused, but pinned our dresses anyway. Then, a week later, 10 days or so before the wedding, she called to tell me she didn't feel right doing our dresses, that our lifestyle wasn't right with God, and that we had tricked her into doing the dresses and lied to her about our relationship. After a 15 minute conversation (after which I cried my eyes out), she finally conceded that she would do them. We came to pick them up a few days later, and she tried to tell us all about how we'll have to answer to God the end before she would give us our dresses. I really wanted to give her a piece of my mind, but I wanted our dresses safely in our hands even more. This was in May of 2012 (just before we moved to Austin), and I doubt things have changed since. Master Needles is fabulous if you don't mind supporting a homophobic business. read more

I am a Low's bridal customer and when I looked through the recommended alterations and tailor shops I decided Master Needles was the place I should go. B'Trice did a wonderful job on my dress! It fits perfectly and she got it done in a very timely manner. When I went in for appointments she always took the time to make sure everything was just how I wanted it. She is also open on Saturdays which helps if you are busy during the week. I would highly recommend her to any bride that needs alterations done to her dress or any bridesmaid dresses. read more
