The only time I went there, I showed the haircutter a picture of the haircut and she said she couldn't do it like the picture because my hair was different, even though I have had my hair cut like that elsewhere other times and THEY cut it like the picture. She didn't seem to know how the shape it and asked me how she should do it. She was a nice lady, but needed to focus on cutting my hair, instead of talking to another stylist about business things that needed to be done. read more

I got Monique for my last appointment, after not going to the salon in years. And she recommended a mineral treatment for my hair and a gloss when I asked if there was any way I could try and safe the length. (severely damaged ends) it definitely helped and smoothed out my hair a lot. The haircut that I had originally came in for ended up just having to be a 1/2 inch trim off the ends. (yay) and another stylist showed how talented Monique is at a bob cut hair. If I ever do go short, I will definitely have her do it! This cute little salon is steps away from the Pismo pier so if you're staying anywhere in that area, do yourself a favor and book yourself a color update, a restyle cut, or even a blow out for perfect photos. You know those salons that put on airs? This place is the exact opposite. Even though it's in the same complex as one of newest Pismo hotels, Inn at the Pier, the owner and the stylist I see are a perfect combo of class and laid back kindness that is refreshing. My stylist Alicia recently started rebuilding her business in the US after living in Europe, so she has some availability which is a blessing to me since I sometimes need last minute appointments. She speaks both English and Spanish as a native and is learning French. Alicia is creative, willing to try new things, and inspired by pics shared with her from Instagram or Pinterest or other online sources. The salon is fresh, clean, and comfortable. It's super close it is to the pier--just across the street kitty corner from Splash. The art in the salon is beautiful and looks like the waves you can hear as you walk into the shop. The stylist had no clue what I wanted for my hair. She was going to bleach my whole head without asking me. Did not ask questions or try to even get to know me. Was not friendly. I sat in the salon for 2.5 hours wondering when will anyone have any kind of conversation with me. Never felt more ignored in my 25 years. Stylist was too preoccupied with her coworkers and "best friend". She did a good job but everyone I told how much I paid said I was overcharged up the a**. Come here if you like feeling basically ignored. *Update* I got a message from the "best friend" of the stylist saying how we talked and what not. Ok fine we did had a great convo for all of 5 minutes of the 2.5 hours I was there. Asked where I worked. That's about it. But they didn't dive deeper into me as a person. I don't write many reviews but I'm so impressed with Cheri and everything thing she did from consult to finished products, I just had to. I'm so happy to finally find a great beautician!!! I had the same hairdresser for 24 years +/- and have struggled to find someone since I moved to the Central Coast . No only did Cheri fix the mistakes of my hair from over the last year but she made me feel happy! I haven't left a hair appointment in the past year this happy and still happy when I got home and looked again! Great cut and color and somehow she did a great job with my eyebrows. I trusted your overall yelp reviews, location, photos, and your professional look as I walked in the door, despite my initial thoughts. I am very disappointed with my service, but felt very uncomfortable saying anything throughout my service. I also think I was in disbelief of it all. At one point even you looked over at us as my hair was aggressively being combed, and I was hoping you would say something. I have never left a salon with my hair feeling more damaged then when I walked in the door. My scalp at the bottom closest to my neck was stressed and throbbing to the point that it woke me up in the middle of the night. (Hence me writing this review at 1:50am) Your stylists represent your salon, and this was the worst salon experience I have ever had. Wow I was so impressed ! I met my stylist at a chamber mixer, when she gave me her card. I was nervous about going somewhere impressed with new, but she gave me great advice about a cut and that made me excited. Plus I wanted to check out this new salon in Pismo. I decided to head over to this hair salon close by and check it out. I wanted to be able to recommend a salon to my guests here at the resort. It was a very happy experience. At the door I was greeted with friendly smiles and the stylist Cheri took some time to ensure me that the chair was fresh and clean and sanitized and also filled me in on the fact that they have an air purification system that kills bacteria and viruses. This immediately made me feel comfortable. She did a thorough job asking me questions about my haircut and how I like to style my hair. I love the Eufora products they carry, not gonna lie I was a little nervous at first because of the cost but e lemony scent got me willing to take a chance.
