We were forced into a bathroom remodel after the shower developed a leak. We I interviewed and…read morereceived bids from 4 different companies and we chose Juan after our realtor gave us a recommendation. It took us a long time to make decisions so we were not able to use the bathroom for about 6 months. Juan's team worked over a period of 2-3 weeks, and did their work quickly. Juan was communicative, reliable, and did what he said he would do. His pricing was very competitive and fair. He recommended that we work with ProSource Austin for tile selection and John M. helped us with the tile, grout, and other items needed to complete the tile project. With every bathroom remodel, there are always surprises but I think Juan helped us through anything that came up. They helped us fix a builder error with the bathtub. His team did all the demo, tile work, and installation of the baseboards. Juan also arranged for plumbers, someone to create a quartz shower bench topper, and a glass company for the shower door. We did hire a painter and drywall repair company on our own but only because they were able to do it while handling another project for us. We are pleased with the work - the photos are not of the finished bathroom because we are still waiting on the delivery of a vanity cabinet from a vendor and then will finally be done. We didn't remodel the entire room as the cost of granite, new cabinets, electrical work, and fixtures is pretty sky high, so this was like a 1/2 remodel. The tile is beautiful and we are very happy to have our bathroom back! I will try to remember to come back and update photos whenever we can finally get our vanity installed. Thank you to Juan and crew for the great work!

Highly Recommended…read more Over the last 18 months my wife and I remodeled our master bath, closet, and laundry room. I did much of the work myself (design, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC), but I knew the tile work was way beyond my capabilities--curbless steam shower, heated tile flooring, marble pencil trim and skirting. I chose JA Tile based on a strong recommendation from a trusted friend who has done multiple renovation projects in Austin. I'm very happy with the decision and completely pleased with the outcome. Juan, Giovanni, and Ivan were very easy to work with. Juan is a good communicator and very prompt and reliable--exemplary professionalism. Giovanni and Ivan did most of the work, and are true craftsmen. We were able to quickly and effectively work through (the inevitable) issues that cropped up, without any drama. ;-) I'll use Juan for any future tile work and recommend his firm without reservation.

We are very unhappy with our 50 floor experience and would not recommend them to anyone. From the…read morestart, they inflate prices tremendously and use a gimmicky 50% off offer to make you think you're getting a deal. Color options are limited, especially for off white and neutral shades. The week of the scheduled installation, I didn't hear a peep from anyone, and had to call multiple times the day before in order to confirm they were coming. Then on the day of installation, they were super late, and they didn't call ahead either to let us know they were coming or to let us know they were running behind. And finally, the finished product is not good quality. We have a line running through our entire room because they cut the carpet improperly. I am extremely disappointed and honestly want my money back. How can professional carpet installers make a mistake like this? We'll have a very visible seam through the entire room until we inevitably replace the carpet again. Steer clear of this company.

I couldn't even talk on the phone with the local store - when you call, you get the main number - and who knows where that is. I got frustrated and eliminated them from my possible vendors. I finally got that cancelled, but despite me saying EVERY TIME, that I had selected another vendor, they just keep bothering me. There is no excuse for this lack of coordination and communication in business. Jeremy and Daniel made sure every single item was included, corrected, or changed to what I wanted. They started demo on the date and time promised and made quick work of the old cabinets/shelving. Daniel was on site every day at the exact same time and worked on site until the end of the day, sometimes longer. It gave me complete peace of mind to know that I could trust and rely on them showing up every day but also on the quality of the work. I was also very happy with the other trades they brought in to the project. They were open to my questions, suggestions, and a couple changes along the way. They made sure to always communicate clearly to me throughout the project. I've used Everything Under the Son for smaller projects as well, like re-tiling my fireplace, installing a privacy fence at the side of my house, and installing new vanity/sinks in two bathrooms, from the extra material left over from my quartz countertops in the kitchen. These days when looking for a contractor, number one concern is reliability along with a reasonable cost. You'll get that along with quality work!

Bellus Flooring

I hired Bellus to install vinyl flooring over my tile about a year ago. I love the Kardean product…read moreI bought from them. It's really easy to maintain, resists water and normal wear with proper upkeep. While I liked my salesperson, the rest of the experience bordered on surreal. The first and second days I had a crew of about 12 people working in my house for about 14 hours each day. The crew left the second day and reported they were done. However, they had damaged my flooring during the install in several places, improperly installed bowed molding in a few more, had inconsistent molding cuts in the doorways, among other installation issues. I've included just a few pictures to highlight their work. There were many instances of each example. I think I had them out 4 times to replace flooring the installers damaged and fix improperly installed molding. There are other smaller issues I won't go into detail about that revolve around excessive use of caulk and not cleaning up after themselves. The salesperson asked me to write lists of what I needed addressed, which I did, several more times over a week or so. One of the things that was a challenge for me was knowing what the new flooring should look like and dealing with installers who had mysogenistic attitudes towards a female when I'd correct their work, as the salesperson asked me to do. They even had the audacity to curse me in Spanish, thinking I wouldn't know the word they were using. I was dismayed to find such a lack of support from the company's representatives, and the lack of respect and workmanship of their installers. We eventually got the flooring done. I decided I preferred to have a few issues I had to fix myself rather than have their workers in my house again. I was also tired of having to clean up after their workers. Every time they came into my house I had to dust, vacume, and mop. It was comical watching them trying to vacume the carpets in an adjacent room with a vacume cleaner that was overfilled with dust from another job. The workers didn't bother to try and contain the mess, even when I provided plastic sheeting to them. I provided them a bill for the services I'd provided that they'd promised and not provided, and was compensated. I wouldn't say don't use this company, they offer very competitive rates. If you don't live in the building they're working on, they'd probably do fine. If you don't mind having to do reiterative quality checks, great. If you're planning on doing your own clean up, even better. If you're one of the people who's moved here from the NE, you'll enjoy the opportunity to get into heated arguments with the installers every day.
