I first found Mastodon Piercing in 2020. I just found a random shop on Google and went in for a nose piercing. I was extremely lucky to find a professional and talented piercer. I just went again yesterday for four piercings. Shane took his time measuring everything to make sure each piercing sat evenly on my ears. It turns out the girl at Claire's that did my ears years ago did not pierce them evenly. Shane was able to make sure my seconds looked good anyway. He also did my tragus and my right helix. He made the whole process easy, which is saying something because I am a giant cry baby. He explained after care in detail afterwards as well. He also gave me a sheet with the after care instructions and the measurements of my jewelry. He then sent a picture of his recommended saline solution. I cannot rave enough about how amazing my experience at this shop was. I had originally came in to get my second nose piercing and get my lobes redone. When talking to Shane about my nose I had asked his opinion on where to place the second nose piercing next to the one I already had. He actually suggested not getting one next to my current one due to where my glasses lay on my nose. I can honestly respect a piercer that would rather lose money than have me get a piercing that most likely wouldn't work out. I instead had all three of my lobe piercings redone (which had all closed) but had them "stretched" instead of re-pierced which was cheaper than a new piercing. Such a cool process by the way to have the same hole reopened and to protect my ears from scar tissue. The process was completely painless and Shane walked me through the entire process. I felt so comfortable and also had some pretty great conversation as well. Shane honestly cares about his clients and takes his time during the whole process. I went to Mastodon tattoo for a nose piercing because of the ratings, but honestly, I wasn't impressed. Sean talked more than he actually worked, so what should have taken 15-20 minutes tops took over an hour. I couldn't just come in for a quick adjustment (which should have taken 5 minutes) because they were 'just too busy'. Then, when I called to make an appointment, i left a message, and Sean called back at 10PM!!!! 1. that is horribly inconsiderate, and 2. completely illegal. When I called and i asked him why he was calling at 10pm, he frickin' HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! I will never set foot in this place again, and I will tell anyone that listens to not waste their money here. read more

This month marks 1 year of getting my nipples pierced, I did extensive research but threw it all away once I was here.. he made the dots of where he thought they should be pierced and I told him one was crooked and that they were on my areola rather than my nipple. He said that the areola needs to be pierced just a little and everything I looked up said not to but I couldn't stick up for myself there ... I now have what he called hammer head on both nipples.. one way more noticeable than the other and that is because he went and pierced the areola rather than the nipple itself. Please trust your gut, pierced is NOT always right.. I do not recommend it here. I cannot stress how much I loved going here yesterday. Shane is EXTREMELY amazing. I'm not new to getting piercings , and have been to some awesome shops In the past. That being said , I've never felt so comfortable and so NOT rushed when I compare it to previous experiences. I came for a septum piercing. After feeling around, Shane let me know that he could do it , BUT warned me that I didnt have much of a sweet spot to work with. He let me know it may or may not lay a little wonky, or nick some cartilage. We talked for a good thirty minutes and not once did I feel like I needed to hurry. Again, I can't stress how awesome this was. At the end of the day I decided on a nostril piercing and I LOVE it. I'm already planning to get more and I will FOR SURE come back. Sean was also super cool. I've seen cheaper prices around town but honestly, you get what you pay for. I would much rather drive a little further and pay a little more to have the undivided attention and caring attitude that this shop has, than scrimp and have someone who is looking to get you in and out and isn't as thorough. I brought my eight year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for her birthday. She was a bit nervous but Sean was very sweet and patient. We ended up spending over an hour there because he took his time explaining everything to her to make sure she was comfortable and knew how to care for her piercings.
