This spot came highly recommended from friends but mostly my trusted niece. She came here to get her eyebrow piercing and raved about their services. With several locations, we preferred the Tempe location. Super easy to schedule an appointment online and quick forms to complete before your appointment. I opted to get my nose pierced and potentially two more ear piercings. The selection of jewelry varies from affordable to really high end solid gold. The receptionist was so knowledgeable and wonderful at making suggestions for my choices. Love her style and she was spot on in matching my vibe. I loved being able to mix my metals of gold, silver and rose gold. For me, I wanted higher quality and fashionable pieces so my total was over $700 with the piercings and jewelry. They also had MDW sale discount of 20% but that eventually went as my tip to my piercer Josh. He is super cool and very thorough. Made me feel comfortable and laughing. My niece had Aubrilynn and loved her. As for the piercing, it is not painful at all. If you can take waxing or plucking, it's easy peasy! There is a little soreness on my left ear but it went away after treating myself to Taiwanese pancakes and jelly tea. You should purchase the saline solution to keep your piercings clean. Accessories are the exclamation point to your outfit. So if you're up for it, get pierced here with any of their incredible staff. I've been coming to HTC (particularly the Tempe location) for years. I've had my lower lip pierced twice, my nostril 3(ish) times, my septum, and various ear piercings. I have never once had a bad experience. The piercers here are professional and great to interact with, the front desk peeps are amazing, and the shop is spotless. When I last came in it was with my sister to get her nose repierced and I wanted to see if my septum was still open. Our piercer was phenomenal. Luckily my septum was still open and he just had to put the hoop in - within about a week it felt normal again. My sister had a rougher time and almost passed out but the piercer was so nice. He was patient and talked her through it, gave her time to recover and caprisuns. We were both really well taken care of. I will mention that they require you to use their jewelry at first, which can be pricey. But the pieces are really solid quality and there is definitely a range in price. They do take walk ins and appointments both, which is pretty rad. read more

I had been contemplating about getting a horizontal eyebrow piercing for a minute and after having some lunch with friends, you know your girl had to get it done. The first place I went to didn't offer surface piercings and recommended that I come here. Oof. That ASU price point ain't cute, but you know what is cute? My new brow piercing. Aubrilynn recommended that I didn't get the usual staple bar piercing and suggested I get two separate piercings to mimic the look. I love it! If I could I would give this a 0/5 stars! I had a really bad experience at HTC and I won't be going back. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt off--just very negative and unwelcoming. The woman at the front was extremely rude and insensitive. She spoke to me in a really dismissive way and made me feel uncomfortable the entire time I was checking in. It honestly set the tone for the whole visit. I've included a picture of the employee below so management is aware of who I'm referring to. On top of that, my ear ended up bruised after the piercing, which makes me question how carefully things were done. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unprofessional, and just unpleasant. 0/5 stars if I could for Blake and his apprentice Jojo. Also to the shop for failing to provide me with what I paid for. Mere working the front was kind that was the only positive from going in. I was visiting AZ and decided to go in for a second nostril piercing and spent over $200 on jewelry and the piercing itself. (Right side in the photo) Blake failed to symmetrically pierce my nostril and was unapologetic nor empathetic about the situation. Soon after getting my nostril pierced I had it removed due to the placement being misaligned. I did receive a "Free Repierce" but would not be able to use it since I was visiting and was told I would need to wait a week before being able to have my nostril repierced. With that being said I asked if they could honor the "repierce" coupon and pierce something else since it had already been paid for and I would not be in town to have my nostril repierced. I was denied getting anything else pierced for the coupon. You would think they would make up for this mistake and show some grace. Yet they did not. Worst customer service/ bedside manner from Blake and his apprentice Jojo. Terrible shop. I do not recommend. read more

Came in with my sisters for the Tuesday deal. Our piercer, Aubrilynn, was AMAZING. She was friendly,welcoming and she is very good at what she does! However.. The gal that was working the front put off a VERY unwelcoming and passive aggressive vibe. She started showing us super expensive jewelry but after one of my sisters had asked for more affordable basic options,she became monotone and seemed irritated by us and the question. The shop is wonderful and we've always come here for piercings, and want to continue to do so , but that was just an off putting experience. It would also be helpful if the prices for jewelry and sitting fees were listed online somewhere,I'm sure it would make decisions faster for some and would help avoid the major sticker shock. read more

I'm a slow healer and all of the piercers at the shop were helpful with all of my panicked, first timer questions. My daughter, her friend and I went today. The biggest draw was the reviews and the jewelry selection. The girl at the counter was very helpful and genuine. We felt very welcome. They took all 3 of us back together with our piercer Aubrilynn was super personable, professional and fast! Barely felt a thing! I did third lobes on both ears and a conch, my daughter did her navel and her friend did a conch. There is a very wide array of jewelry here from titanium and only $30 to 18k gold and gemstones at $270. And everything in between. We loved it because we could pick our own jewelry but I'd go back again to request Aubrilynn as a piercer again. She's amazing! read more

Not my first time there but definitely the best. I bought a piece of custom jewelry a few months ago and the required a %50 deposit (seems fair what if I never come back). I was told delivery was 2-3 months because of the nature of the jewelry and availability; came in about 6 weeks so that was nice. I picked up and left, returned a few days later when I had time and they had quite a wait to help "install?" the jewelry, so I left and choice to use their online scheduling to get in when I could. I was in and out in 10 minutes, it was great! The guy that helped me I didn't get his name but he was awesome and friendly. I've had a lot of experience with piercings and he was able to explain about the design while not talking down to me. Cost for the install was $10 Jewelry was about $75 $75 on its face seemed a little expensive but the jewelry is hard to find in the size and type, so definitely worth it. Parking isn't bad but it is Tempe and can be tricky in that strip mall. Remember to spay and neuter your pets, but not at HTC. read more

Edit for owner: you did not"Spend time with the customers" to find the best jewelry, as I said. I continuously tried to ask, moreso for my septum appointment but at my ear piercing, and got a generic hand wave. "Over here" When I did ask on exiting as well(for a replacement for septum) it took a good hunt from your receptionist to find said prices. Also I wasn't given a choice on the ear piercing. I was told you only do one side, hence me "changing my mind." if that was the case I wanted to be amenable. Went in three weeks ago because my normal shop doesn't do septum. While there, I saw and add for "lower cost ear piercing by their apprentice" I asked that day about the cost, and the apprentice herself said $20 for the first, $10 for the second plus jewelry. Seemed reasonable plus I wasnt getting super expensive jewelry, I just wanted titanium like my new septum ring. I just like knowing before agreeing to something. For my second piercing I got there a bit late, tho I did call and inform them I was running behind. When I got there, the front of house person was helping others and rather busy. I never got a price from her regarding my piercing I think because of this and it wasn't until I went back that their piercer said I could only do one ear at a time. I was ok with this but wondering if this is where the confusion was? I didn't find out the price until the piercer apprentice was gloved up and about to start that I was getting charge more than the septum ring I received last week for a single APPRENTICE cartilage ear piercing. At that point I just went with it because how embarrassing is it to say no and walk out after everything but I think it's really strange how it took speaking to three separate people to get a clear idea of price. On the way out I asked about a different piece of jewelry to switch out a different piercing and even then, it took a long while for the woman working the front to find that price. It shouldn't be that hard for the workers and it definitely makes the experience more stressful for the customer. Septum is fine but the post for my cartilage seems very small. I got a septum and navel piercing, and I am BEYOND happy with the results! Storm was super inviting and made all of my anxieties about the process vanish the moment I walked in. They were super respectful and did not pressure me into any option, and were super educated on the different types of piercings offered. I had Bobby as my piercer, and loved that he explained each step to me as he pursued. I could tell that he had a lot of experience, and especially appreciated the fact that he educated me about my navel anatomy and his reasoning for his specific placement. This place really values consent, and made sure I knew what I was receiving before ever sticking the needle in. For my first "real" piercings, this was EXACTLY the experience I was hoping for. Came straight from another piercing studio in Chandler, where we had an unpleasant experience. The other studio required a birth certificate for our 17 year old daughter to have her naval pierced, despite having both her parents present and digital copies of a baptismal certificate, school registration (both HS & upcoming college), and tax returns. (I understand policy, but really??) At any rate, this was our graduation gift for our daughter and we came discouraged and upset from other studio. HTC took such great care of us. Super friendly staff, very clean space, and appreciated everyone wearing masks. We had three cars of family with us visiting from out of town for the graduation, and even though only a few of us came back for the piercing, they were so nice and gracious to invite us all back. Aubrilynn was very professional, efficient, and sweet. She pierced three of our family in a row and took great care of each of them. She also provided very thorough aftercare instructions. Prices were a little higher than the other places we previously looked into, but we were happy to pay for the service we received especially in comparison to the shop we came from. read more

I went in today and this was a wonderful studio. The front desk supporters were kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. The piercers were also very friendly and comfortable in the space. As others have said, the jewelry selection is fantastic. My piercing was fast and painless. I also appreciated how supportive they were. I have a history of fainting. I have never fainted from a piercing but I let them know and they were so kind about it. They made it clear they would just make sure I was good and could support me after if needed. It was totally not needed in my case but showed the care they give. My piercing was almost painless and so easy. The piercer communicated clearly and effectively the whole time. I have gotten 4 lobe and 2 cartilage piercings done in the mall, at Claire's and Icing, done w/a gun. However, those places will not do your nose, so I knew it had to be a tattoo place. Me and 4 friends spontaneously decided yesterday to get piercings, and a friend recommended HTC so we made the trip to Tempe. Having never been pierced with a needle, I was terrified that something could easily go wrong. IMMEDIATELY after entering we were greeted and comforted seeing the place so busy. The sweet cashier/receptionist (didn't get their name) told us we had nothing to worry about, we would do fine. We finished the quick paperwork, and after about a 15 minute wait, our party of 5 was taken back! Our piercer was Kevin, and I cannot stress how much we loved him. He made conversation with us, was such a jokester, and after 5 minutes I forgot why I was even nervous. He explained EVERYTHING to us before it was done, and really made us feel as comfortable as possible. I felt like we were good friends at the end!! I had my piercing done by Bobby. He was very immature and rude. My friend and were both super friendly too and it came out of no where. For example.. we said we almost went to the place across the street because my friend wanted a tattoo, and he acted like we were stupid for almost choosing a place that does both tattoos and piercings- saying those places suck. I can easily deal with the arrogance, when you do your job properly. However my nose piercings have given me many issues. I got it double pierced. The bars are HUGE! Yes, they need to be larger to account for swelling but I have 2 extremely long bars of metal in my nose. My nose would have to to triple in size then maybe the bars would be the appropriate length. I came to him a week after I got it done because the bars kept poking out of my nose. He just pushed it back and told me to come back in 2 weeks. One week later, it won't stop poking out even when I push it back. Im pretty upset that I went out of my way and spent extra money here for a half assed job. I had another piercing done here years ago and the place was amazing, service was great. Goes to show that reviews aren't always accurate. This is NOT a 4 and a half star establishment. Now I get to go through covid quarantine with a giant fucking bar sticking out of my nose. Spent well over $100 for these two nose piercings.. it's ridiculous. I've read other reviews too and this place is trash.. I'm so disappointed in myself for giving them my money. PS: This is officially the worst review I've been had to make. I got my second earlobe piercing done yesterday by Aubrilynne and my review is not based on the actual service because that was fine, quick and painless and she knew what she was doing. The reason for the 2 stars is for the overall experience (mostly with the girl at the front selling the jewelry) she was showing me different options and when I asked for pricing, she never told me up front UNTIL I already chose the earrings I wanted -- which were BVLA yellow gold bezel genuine diamond earrings. She then proceeded to tell me that the earrings would be $298 EACH. I was floored but because we had already gone through such a process, I just bit my tongue and let it go but I couldn't help feeling uneasy about the whole thing. She kept assuring me that it was really good quality and they had a lifetime guarantee etc. but I still felt like I had just been scammed. I also used my Apple Pay to pay for everything and the girl at the front asked me if I had a physical card, I said no (because I had it in another purse at home) she seemed super irritated and said "you can't leave a tip without a physical card" I ended up sending a venmo to my piercer just because it was already so awkward. After I left, I did a deep dive into BVLA jewelry and found the same exact earrings at multiple established piercing places all over the US for $150 EACH. no more than that. I know that she told me the price and I know I should've done my research first but I just can't help but feel like this was totally unethical. This review is to just help people be more informed about the jewelry selection process if you are considering coming here. Although I do love my piercing and the overpriced earrings, lol. -- I won't be returning here for any future piercings. read more

I still come here every time I need something adjusted, for a new jewelry or new piercing done. I honestly cannot go anywhere else, but this place when I needed something new in my life. They are very professional here, great customer service and they have sterilization area on site. As much as I hate giving negative reviews, I love the jewelry here and everything but the biggest downfall is they don't wanna help you with any type of outside piercings. I've been wanting to be a custom here for the longest and I just cannot do it.. I have bought bar after bar and still no one can help me simply put some jewelry in a piercing that has already been healed and like I said, I wanna be a long time customer but the no desire to get help here from anyone , I have spent well over $100 on basic bars and none of them fit my tongue, and I get zero help with it. They simply hold a bar up to my tongue to try and match the size knowing an say " it should fit" knowing it's not going to fit. I have a bunch of bars for no reason at this point.
