After purchasing a condo in Ocean City, NJ last October, 2020 we looked for someone to replace the drafty front door and a rotting window, plus some needed repairs. After speaking with a few builders, we selected Matera Builders. They submit a very detailed quote of exactly what's to be done. I met with Bob Matera at his showroom in June and he explained every line item in the quote. Bob explained there was a 22 week wait for the Therma-Tru front door, but the Anderson window and repairs would be done earlier. In September, Al and Chris Installed the new Anderson window and did repairs as quoted. In November, Al and Steve came to install the framed Therma-Tru front door. They removed the old door and frame, made sure the existing studs were solid and mold-free. Al explained the process as he put in the barriers between the house studs and new door frame. Once done, the door was level and fit beautifully. Al is extremely conscientious with his craft, as is Steve. Besides helping Al, Steve did a beautiful job of removing the trim around the old door, being careful not to pull off wall paint, He then installed new trim and painted it. The new door was painted to our specifications at the factory and looks beautiful. New hardware compliments the door. Both locks were keyed to our existing keys. All the men were Matera are very professional, did meticulous work and left the premises as neat as could be. In April of 2021, we had 7 French doors and 2 beach closet doors replaced by Matera Builders, Inc. Prior to their starting the work, Bob Matera explained to us that once they begin a job, they stay on it until it's completed. He was true to his word; they did just that.  They let us know when they were coming and always came on time. My wife and I were completely satisfied with their work and work ethic. Al and Fred installed all the French doors. Another employee installed the beach closet doors. They were all very respectful of us and our house. They made as little mess as possible, and cleaned up after themselves every day. The employee that installed the beach closet doors even vacuumed outside the patio area by the doors when he was done. All the workers were nearly invisible. We didn't have to deal with any loud music, foul language or smoking. Since the installations, I have had them back to make some minor adjustments, and they were quick to take care of us. Matera Builders are fantastic. Their work is excellent. Steve,Van, Al and Rich are the team that did my job. I had three Anderson hinged doors replaced with Anderson Sliding doors. Recently Matera Builders replaced two exterior doors at our Summer home in Ocean City. Their crew (Van and Steve) was very pleasant to deal with and are fabulous craftsmen. Kudos to Al, the mechanic who, with cleanliness and care, removed a broken storm door and installed a new Andersen, top-of-the-line unit. Well sealed around it's perimeter, this door is remarkably well-engineered. It has an invisible soft-closing function.
