She proceeded to tell me all the reasons she couldn't, corporate cut hours, corporate wouldn't allow more than 2 workers, someone wouldn't come in, etc. I left my stuff in a cart by the cutting table, after asking if that was acceptable. I returned at 10:55 am. There was another lady with a big stack of fabric on the counter to cut. The same manager said to me...I'm going to help her as she was here first! I said, "Excuse me"??? I was here at 9 am! She did cut mine first, but not without me saying something. Seriously horrible customer service!

Ahh! I love unexpectedly finding new and cool shops, especially in a town that I know up and down…read more(or so I thought). The Spinning Room is like a splendid Easter egg hidden away in a nest of a building. It is located downtown, in the building adjacent to Big Rays, with a simple street sign denoting its upstairs presence. Walk into the seemingly formidable building, and either take the stairs or elevator to the third floor, whereby you will find signs directing you to the shop. The Spinning Room offers a great selection of beads, books and other spinning/beading material. I found an awesome blue-green glass bead that was handmade and available to only a few shops nationwide. I was stoked that it was available in Fairbanks, AK! Marnie, the owner, is very pleasant, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about diverse beading patterns. One evening, I arrived late and accidentally stayed until 6:10pm (shop closes at 6pm). Marnie never mentioned the time, and was completely sweet and helpful, even offering more time to show us the differences between various stitches, including peyote stitch. In addition to selling beads, the Spinning Room offers beading and spinning classes! A must-visit shop for bead and craft lovers!
