However, I HATE going in there because of the smell. Whatever they spray or have as fragrance is so over powering and disgusting. Anytime I go there, I leave with a headache. I won't even bring my child in there with me anymore. It also is so soaked into the clothes that I have to soak them in vinegar and borax when I get them home before I can let my little one wear anything. I've tried running a soak&wash cycle but I can always still smell that smell. Fragrance is toxic, especially for babies and I wish they would stop with the overkill in the store.

For those of you unfamiliar with Fred Meyer, the set up is similar to Wal Mart in which you have your grocery side and then the side that sells items you would expect to find in a department store (clothes, books, outdoor sporting equipment, kitchen wares, etc). But I prefer shopping at Fred Meyer and think the atmosphere is just different from Wal Mart. Anyways, my husband and I ended up shopping at this particular location twice while staying in Fairbanks, to stock up on groceries. Fred Meyer is part of the Kroger family and so if you have a loyalty card with this market chain, you can provide the phone number you used to sign up for that, at check out to get additional savings. Convenient location with plenty of parking. The store was clean and I appreciated the disinfectant wipes inside, by the front entrance so that I could wipe my cart down. If I was a local, I would shop here regularly.

They sell putter gear (gloves, boots, jackets, socks, Carhardtts) Join their rewards program it offers you dividends back at certain times a year based on your purchases. This store has extremely helpful employees. I'm talking "Above and Beyond" The other store may have a bigger selection. This stores customer service is hands down excellent. The way every store anywhere should be.
