I just couldn't take it exclamation literally I went to the LV exhibit in Hollywood 3 years ago and that was amazing they outdid themselves this time! It was an incredible experience. I loved how there was just so many different exhibits there was also like the artisan part of the handcrafting of the handbags we learned about you know how it started and went through all of the iconic Louis Vuitton handbags custom made pieces, trunks, shoes, belts, scarves, it was just an amazing experience I will never forget I am so glad I went and if you have not gone you need to go! It is a MUST! A lot of people tend to think that buying an expensive handbag is about money. And yes you do have to have money to buy these pieces, however the reason why you're spending so much money is because of the process that is required to go through to get such an amazing handbag one that will last you 20+ years so it's awesome! Make sure you go and have a fully charged phone so that you can take a lot of pictures if Yelp would let me post more pictures I would have more to post...I had to pick the best out of 50 and I have about 400! bottom line is go see this!

Sitting inside, looking at the fog moving in from the Pacific, reminded both of us of the Richmond / Sunset districts in San Francisco on outer Geary. Something about the era of the buildings, the numerous telephone / power poles, and that fog (!); it all fit with our memories of our childhood haunts in The City. That being said, I'm aware there is much more to the Palisades than that time warp impression. From a drive-through visitor's perspective, it has an old school charm. Having to pay for parking on a Saturday in a small town area is somewhat annoying. Traffic can be a slow crawl through the area, and what on earth will it be like when the new Caruso development is done? Wow! Loved the mural we could see from the Starbucks, looking to the south. It added a beachy vibe to the area which surely is married to it's ocean-proximity.

This town is not for those who seek to live in modest means. It is pricey to live here, but I find the prices well worth it. The people in this town are awesome, and it's a very family friendly place. The main artery to this town is Sunset Blvd as it goes from the 405 to PCH. The roads here are windy, and go up the mountain into neighborhoods full of stately residences. Two security firms operate here: Palisades Patrol and ACS security. The sights here are amazing. There is an overlook you can reach by taking El Medio. You will get a good sight of the Pacific Ocean, PCH, and the beach below. It's a nice place to stop by for a breather during the day, and also a good place to take a date at night. A great hiking trail begins at Temescal Canyon park, and extends though the Santa Monica mountains and into the valley. This trail, when taken in its entirety, is a good 8 hour hike. You will cross through some mountain bike trails as well. A plethora of celebrities live or have lived here. I have associated with some of them when I used to work in this town. A great town. Keep it classy.

Adelaide runs along the southwest rim of Santa Monica Canyon, one block north of San Vicente. The street begins at Ocean Ave. and goes to just past 7th St., a distance of only a few blocks. The graceful vintage homes on large lots along Adelaide overlook ocean and canyon. At 4th & Adelaide are the famed Santa Monica Stairs (http://www.yelp.com/biz/PGHG7VCDrklvdA-QHUTHmw and http://www.yelp.com/biz/27Xe5HcTCI59CBnFHsD7WQ), that go all the way down to the bottom of the canyon, to Entrada Dr.. A second set of stairs is just up the street. The stairs attract a constant crowd of fitness enthusiasts & trainers, and their stream of cars. For that reason, I might pass on actually living on Adelaide if given the opportunity because privacy would be compromised. But I'll continue to enjoy a stroll now and then in this little piece of paradise.

Drought = no rain? = no running water = a dry fountain?…read more Drought is an unusual concept for me because I am from Hawaii... land of rainbows and... well... rain... lots of it! Hawaii is in the Tropics and Los Angeles is almost desert? Wow... ok... This landmark is like a park and is a tribute to the Father of the Los Angeles water system. Back in those days, engineering wasn't the way it is today, so William Mullholand was quite the genius! There are white roses and a well landscaped garden surrounding this Fountain which was more like a pool (since there was no running water). Alana and I took notice of the cracks and chips in the cement and plaster. I'm looking forward to returning and seeing this fountain after the renovations are completed. I'm sure that it will be returned to a more than functional state in all of its glory!

There was a great sunset happening, the was a wind fire which is terrible but i made the sunset illuminate to brilliant colors such as reds and purples. One draw back to this park is there is a lot of people living in it. Apparently they come back right when the sunsets, I'm assuming that's when the police don't bother there. There are stashes of bedding and clothing behind every stone bench. Other than that its a nice park to chill in... during the day time.

Occidental thinks it can get the 221 million barrels remaining by injecting carbon dioxide or water into the oil wells, even though the most recent contract guarantees that they only get 5% of the revenue [95% goes to the State]. Segments I and II/West Wilmington unit are controlled by the city of Long Beach. The original 6,000 wells were first drilled by General Petroleum, now Exxon Mobil. This was the biggest oil discovery for Southern California. When I was younger, I thought the lights of the refineries off the 405 or 710 resembled lit giant church votive stands.

I mean, I've been to Oildale near Bakersfield and parts of Texas that just densely packed with oil wells surrounded by ground that looks like it would never be green again. They all have an eerie feel about them. Long Beach wells are in random places. When Ray Bradbury spoke of story ideas at LBCC, he mentioned passing a cemetery with a few rocking away along the outskirts and it made him think of a dystopian world where they would be pumping oil from the graves of long dead humans. Some of the wells are along parks, golf courses, right in front of restaurants, and hiding out in the open as fantasy islands right off the coast. Have you seen those bad boys? They have waterfalls, colorful lights, and buildings that look like hotel skyscrapers on topical beaches. I sometimes stare at them while hanging around Bluff Park. I suppose how normal they all seem to those of us who've lived with them for decades might be construed as a curiosity for everyone else.

Since it is supposed to be international I would of loved a tea and sandwich British type class too...maybe next year. I'd also like some more decaf teas. I would definitely come again another year. It's a good excuse to get down to Little Tokyo. Admission was $20 but we found a discount code on their page for 1/2 off. With our extra $10 we included the chocolate tasting. I love a good deal! Plus, I called them up on the phone beforehand to ask some questions about the event and they were really nice. Admission included free admission to the museum which is an awesome place to visit as well. Then you can go outside and explore LIttle Tokyo. This time there was also Japanese dancing in the street. This was our first time attending and for 2018 it was at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, there were a…read morecouple of things that the wife and I like about the show, but the location was not ideal for an event of this type. first off there was no signage as we were driving around the Rose Bowl to indicate the location, once you get into the parking lot there are some small signs, directing you in the right direction. Getting to the desk where you pay admission($20 per person) we were greeted by friendly staff, you get a small tote bag and a tasting cup for tea. The festival was on the Third floor of the stadium, taking the elevator up we discover it is all outside, fortunately it was nice and not too windy on the day we went. Another problem is that there are vendors to the right and left so as an attendee it not really easy to wander, you go one way and then back the other. There were about 40 vendor and they were all very nice and attentive to the customers, pitching their respective wares. Lots of teas to taste and reasonable prices. Overall it was worth the admission fee and I would consider attending again.

In the VIP area my favorites are......Michaels oysters, Blue ribbon sushi(extra stars for the fresh quality), Edgar, Vamos vamos and Soko Sushi was all beautifully done. Held on the Santa Monica Pier where they used to do the Pier concerts every summer. There was a separate VIP idea that I did not have access to so I stayed with the commoners in the GA dining section. Posted pics of most of the food and some of drinks and happenings. Tip: If you are going to this event in the future--this is not an event to show up to "fashionably late." When a restaurant runs out of food they close up--so I would get there 30 minutes before your ticket time and go for all the fish food first. No one runs out of alcohol, beverages or deserts.

Some of my friends love to do this ride and they talked me into going. I'm glad I did but it was…read morenot any easy sell for my friends. Ride a bike on the streets of LA/Santa Monica; (no offense to Santa Monica but unless you see a sign how do you really know what city you are in?). Were they nuts? I imagined us being road, kill done in by distracted, cell phone toten, soccer moms & finished off by yuppies hurrying to happy hour; (they do, do it on a Friday afternoon, prime happy hour time). Actually, it turns out there is safety in numbers and the most folks on the road just seemed bemused by the temporary flood of urban bikers. Where did we go? I don't know for sure, I was having such a good time I just followed the crowd and my friends. Afterwards we went to a well deserved but belated happy hour. But that's another story. If you have never been it's one of those greater Los Angeles moments that you should experience. Oh, and you don't have to be a hard core biker to enjoy the ride. I certinly wasn't.

Meet at the Santa Monica Pier at 6:30 on the first Friday of every month and join hundreds of fellow cyclists in a casual ride through the streets of Santa Monica and West LA. The ride is usually accompanied by several patrons blasting classic tracks such as MJ's "Billy Jean," Hall & Oates "Man Eater," Tupac's "2 Live & Die in LA" and many more. A really fun/free thing to do on the West side that ends with drinks and dining for those so inclined. You need to come out, for sure.
