He gave options on what to do for my situation, allowed me to make the decision, prepared me well on what to expect, and provided a follow-up call a few days later. I would recommend him and Dr. Kresvosky to anyone needing eye care/surgery.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not questioning their experiences, just want to give a contrast. I've been going to Dr. Burgett for longer than I can remember, I think soon after he opened his office at Unity. He has been one of the best doctors (especially ophthalmologist) I've ever gone to. He has taken great care of my eyes (I'm diabetic so this is important) and has always been patient and caring. With respect to his office staff, I've never had a problem with attitude or service. My wife Carol and I are on a first-name relationship with several of them. Again, this doesn't mean disagreement with one of the reviewers since a lot of different people have come and gone and sometimes a given individual might well have had a bad day (the office is always really busy) or a given person may just be that way. But I just want people to know that we've never had a negative experience with either Dr. Burgett or the staff. So, yes, I certainly recommend him. Kerry Kleiber

Just last week, I took a friend to Dr Mattingly. He said her eyes have been changing every year…read moresince she has been seeing her back in the late 90's. But, there appears to be a problem. She has said she can not see well even with the glasses prescribed just last year. Then after further questioning, she indicated she has not seen well for a long time. And she said that her prescription changes each year and requires new glasses. So I asked to see her past prescriptions. Each prescription was different. But not progressively worse as one would expect with progressive eye problems. For those of you with astigmatism, the Axis reading changed along with other readings which would show back and forth between her eyes getting better, then reversing to getting worse. Not what you would expect. Time for a second opinion! Went today for the second opinion. She explained her vision as everyone does and then continued with the exam. He photographed the inside of her eyes, continued with all the normal tests, read her glasses to see the prescription as made by the manufacturer and then proceeded with her prescription exam. Here are the results. 1. Concern about the varied prior to present prescriptions. 2. Current prescription from 4 days ago is wrong. 3. Current glasses from a year ago do not match the prescription from when they were prescribed. 4. Bifocals were prescribed at the wrong strength. 5. The axis for the astigmatism was wrong resulting in blurred vision even with the glasses. While a lot of this sound to be a responsibility of the patient, let me ask a simple question. If you put your trust in a doctor for twenty years, you would expect that doctor to provide you with the best possible care? Well. I believe that doctor has provided his best. Unfortunately, his "best" isn't good enough. Now the reason for this review. As we told his nurses the problem she was experiencing, they said that a lot of his patient complain about the same thing. After the exam, the changes did not relate to what she expressed. There appears to be a systemic problem here.

But lately the office staff seems unhappy, dismissive and just not pleasant. They seem unorganized and will move the patient from room to room until they get the right one. Last time they took me out of a room anc set me at a desk area in the hallway and asked my medical questions there with all kinds of other patients walking around. I was there last night to look at glasses and I walked in no one acknowledged or even looked up from their phone. I asked a younger gentleman about a specific brand I was interested in and he just chuckled nervously and said "I don't know". I left still no acknowledgement and said I'll go somewhere else then. Experience there keeps getting less desirable each time

I would given a zero if that rating was available…read more I left a handwritten message requesting that Dr. Evans call me to discuss customer service issues since Evans & Taylor took over NeoVision. The person I handed the message to assured me it would be given to Dr. Evans. It has been 2 weeks since I left that message and he hasn't called me. The front desk staff at NeoVision is not friendly. I called prior to my appointment and spoke with the person who handles insurance. She said she would leave a copy of the insurance information at the front desk. When I arrived for my appointment the first person I spoke to couldn't locate the insurance info that had been left for me. Another employee found it but when I asked for a copy before leaving they could not find it again. Evans & Taylor implemented new policies without informing patients. For example, they only hold frames for 2 weeks then put them back on display. I picked out a frame before going on vacation. When I returned to place my order, the frame had been put back on display and they had no record of which frame I picked out. They also quit calling patients to let them know their glasses are ready to be picked up. Even if I hadn't know about the transfer of ownership, it was obvious from the change in attitude of the employees. Evans & Taylor does not provide the level of customer service I was accustomed to at NeoVision while it was operated by the original owner. I have been a NeoVision patient for over 20 years. I will not return to NeoVision or any other eye care location owned by Evans & Taylor.
