If you're looking for a great tutoring center in the north part of town, I highly recommend…read moreTutoring Club of North Las Vegas! Background: When covid happened, we pulled our daughter, Mackenzie, out of preschool that spring and she stayed out of the school environment through the summer. She started kindergarten virtually, but unfortunately, she was one that did not build a good enough foundation to help her succeed in her schoolwork, even after they went back in person. Fall 2022: Fast forward to this school year, and we're at parent teacher conferences reviewing her MAP scores. She was essentially reading at a kindergarten level, and performing at a 1st-ish grade level in math. So, we needed to do something to help her catch up. We researched several places local centers and also considered private tutoring from teacher friends. We decided on The Tutoring Club for several reasons: 1) We liked the director, Jessica, who had the same ideology of how we learned "back when we were in school" and how their curriculum supported it. 2) We liked the flexibility to help Mackenzie with her school work, in addition to the curriculum they had her do. 3) We liked that it's a brick and mortar. We can always count on them being there, and they are also reasonable with absences - if we had to miss a day here and there because of our other extracurricular activities. Mackenzie started attending tutoring in mid-October and went for 2 hour sessions, 3 days a week. She loved it! The tutors incentivized the work so that she had a goal. They made it fun for her, and it motivated her to want to learn to read. The tutors are friendly and they made the experience enjoyable for her. Spring 2023: It's now May, and we received Mackenzie's final MAP scores of the year. Her test scores substantially grew over the entire school year, and she is now above grade level for both subjects! I would attribute her success completely to the work that the Tutoring Club has done with her, as we never changed anything in our home life. We are so grateful for the help that the Tutoring Club provided, and again, we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great tutoring center in North Las Vegas!

My experience is that they are not good with neurodivergent kids and they play favorites. It's also…read morereally expensive. We payed nearly $6,000 for the year and three weeks before final exams they cut us off saying "the school year is only eight months." When asked if they would be willing to give my child another week, they said only if we were willing to leave a positive review. That might explain how they have so many positive reviews.

It's been really rewarding to watch their confidence grow along with their skills. One thing I really appreciate is the flexibility of the program. We can bring them as little or as often as we want, which makes it very easy to work around our family's schedule. The reward system they use is also fantastic. It keeps the kids motivated and excited to go, which makes a big difference when it comes to learning math. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and clearly invested in helping the kids succeed. My only wish is that they were open on Fridays as well, although I completely understand why they aren't. Overall, we've had a great experience and I would absolutely recommend Mathnasium to other families looking to help their kids build stronger math skills and confidence.

The teaching approach here is truly remarkable, fostering an environment where learning thrives and confidence grows. The instructors have been instrumental in her transformation, nurturing her potential and making math an enjoyable experience. Her grades have shown significant improvement since she started, and she's developed a positive attitude towards the subject. My daughter raves about the approachable and supportive instructors who make learning fun. She cherishes the opportunity to interact with peers, turning what used to be a stressful experience into an exciting adventure. Additional homework help is just the icing on the cake. I wholeheartedly recommend Mathnasium Aliante for its exceptional approach to education.

If I could give negative stars I would. I wanted to help my…read moreson do his best in school and so I decided to take my 13 year old son to this program right before the start of 7th grade. At first it seemed to help. But my son struggled with the program because he only has 1 eye due to having the right eye removed after being diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at 3 months old. His remaining eye was treated for the cancer and he has a blind spot in his field of vision due to the treatment. It makes reading take a little more time. He's struggled in school because of that. He also has struggled some with depression, anxiety, and gender identity. He is afab. This past year I remarried and that along with moving, starting a new school, covid, and deciding to start testosterone has been difficult to say the least. We had a family therapist, an individual counselor for him and a psychiatrist to try and get him help due to self harm and other negative emotions/behaviors. After the first few terms at school my son told me he couldn't handle brain balance on top of everything else. His therapists all agreed with him and recommended I take him out of the program. At the beginning I had signed up with Frank. He had told me he didn't want the program to be something that caused my son immense stress and that he was sure it would work. The only way to pay for it if you can't foot $12,000ish is to finance. The loan is through Mountain America credit union. Frank set up the loan and Mountain America Credit Union paid Brain Balance in full. Well we didn't even make it 1/2 way through before being told to take my son out of the program. I was disappointed but decided to call Frank and ask him to refund the money. Although I feel all of the money shoild be returned, I asked for half, the half that we couldn't use. He told me no, that he couldn't. He then said to call back in 3 months to talk about options. I just called him back to ask him again to refund at least the half that was unused. He wouldn't be out any money. But again he refuses to listen to the advice of my son's psychiatrist or the counselors we used. He again said he wouldn't do the refund. I think this shows that he is inflexible and unable tp see that in some situations it might not be what's best. He keeps telling me that my son doesn't think like a 13 year old and that if I don't literally physically drag him into the center to complete the program he'll never be able to function as an adult. That attitude is hurtful to say the least. Now I'm out all that money with nothing to show for it except that my credit, which I worked hard to bring up, has been brought back down due to being late on this payment. If you care about your kids, don't join this program. It might be great for little kids who will do what you want, but with teens who have more say over what they do, it doesn't work.
