Prior to oil change, the service department provided a clear price estimate. However the final bill was over 20% more than the actual estimate. The bill was loaded with additional nickel-and-dime charges (labor, parts, fees, taxes, surcharges, credit card upcharges). It was a simple oil change with no additional repairs. There was nothing out of the ordinary with the vehicle. This place is more sketchy than a chalkboard. So sick of small time hustles at car dealerships. Especially car dealer math, burped up from the Gates of Hell. So I'm filing formal complaints with the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), Bureau of Information Security, Regulatory Monitoring Division via the online portal and at phone 888-SOS-MICH. Never again! Went in for an oil change at my alotted appt time, 10am. 3 hours later, it was FINALLY done. I chose Matick Toyota because of their customer service and I am a loyal Toyota patron. But, OMG, this time around was the most horrible waste of time spending my mid morning sitting around waiting. First of all, Harry, the assigned service rep, did not even update me on what the hell was taking so long. He could've been considerate and updated me with why it was taking so long. I became restless and frustrated that I went to ask and only then did someone else other than Harry explained that they were short of staff and that they would find Harry for me. Granted, this was a Hyundai Santa Fe that was getting the oil change BUT this was NOT the first time I had it serviced at Matick. Finally, after 3 hours of waiting it was finally done. I purchased a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica from Matic Toyota in March 2025, working with Nick Richardson. At first, everything seemed great. The car was clean and ran well during the test drive, and Nick was friendly and helpful during the sale. However, within just seven days of purchase, I noticed a concerning sound whenever I put the car in reverse. I immediately reached out to Nick as he had said to contact him if I needed anything. At first, he responded and even tried to help troubleshoot what the issue might be--but then he completely stopped answering my calls and never followed up again. Feeling stuck, I reached out to the manager, Kyle, who told me to bring the car in. They inspected it and gave me a few vague suggestions about what the problem might be, but no clear answer or repair. I was sent on my way without any resolution. A 5 quart synthetic oil change costs $60.30 as of Feb. 2023. A tire repair (puncture plug) costs $25. I had these 2 things done & it took just under 2 hours. I made an appointment. I showed up on time. I was fuming by the time I drove away. I've come here for all my car's service & maintenance since 2018. The wait times have become longer & longer. The prices are outrageous. Prices for basic services are not posted anywhere. It's easy to make an appointment online but every time I try to call the service department with a question the phone just rings & rings endlessly. I do trust the quality of their parts & workmanship but I'm not sure I can afford the Matick experience any longer. I have a 2017 Toyota RAV4. Our Highlander is just over 20,000 miles and has had a great experience at Matick. There was an issue with the infotainment system which seemed to be corrected with updates, otherwise routine maintainance has been all it's needed. I've called to make appointments and I've been greeted in a friendly manor. Each visit I drive right into service at my appointment time. The waiting area is bright and comfortable. There's really nowhere to walk to so it's nice to have a good place to sit and read. read more

I agreed to pay cash (write a check) for a new RAV, all was good until I couldn't come in within a few hours of the phone call notifying me the car was there. I was contacted on Wednesday afternoon and said I must come in immediately, they would not hold the car until Friday. After initially being told that I would more than likely need to come in the following week. Bums! Great cars, but real bums working there. Just when I thought dealers were becoming reputable. I drive by the dealership once a week there are no cars on their lot. Lots of used but no new vehicles no selection whatsoever. i've been interested in buying a certain vehicle. Was shopping for a new vehicle, a Toyota Camry, and was told that they had one coming in soon that was just built. They gave me a price that seemed fair and I put down a deposit on it of $1000. I was unable to come up with the rest of the financing And was told they were keeping my deposit until the vehicle sold. I signed no contract with them. In my opinion, they are untrustworthy and unprofessional, with behavior I would not expect from a mainline Toyota dealership. I spoke to their finance manager, and he was both rude and surly. I do not recommend them for anything at all. If they are not willing to take care of their customers on any level, they should be avoided. I see from other ratings that they are poor in this area. Absolutely awful experience with Matick Toyota service department on 7/22/24. Made appointment online the previous week (7/15/24) for 11:30; requested 5K service, second key (not provided at time of purchase) and investigation into low gas mileage (6-8 mpg less than on car's "sticker"). Arrived at 11:27 but was kept waiting outside the building until 11:58. waited several more minutes inside before finally being greeted with "Hey there." No mention of long wait. I asked "What is the benefit to the customer in making an appointment?" The ridiculous response was, "So you know when to bring your car in." Frustrated, I said I was there for the things mentioned above. In return I heard "You want us to solve your problem with low gas mileage?" Almost two hours later I was told that the 5K service (basically an oil change) was done; that there was NO SECOND KEY, but it was expected the following day (don't understand why that wasn't communicated to me before the time of the appointment); and that the car was in a "learning period" (???) for gas mileage which could take another 5K mile (much more laughable than believable). read more

Back up sensor started beeping most of the time when backing up at about 4000 miles. I was told it was cracked and I must have hit something. You can't see any damage on the device or bumper and I didn't hit anything. I was told in can only be seen underneath. The cost $534 . I said forget it and just deal with the noise. Three months later I learn that it only continually beeps when it's above 32 degrees and most of the time when warmer, but not always. I went in for my oil change and asked if they could look into the device again because I questioned it was defective or damaged. I was told the service manager would call me to discuss. I followed up since they did not call me. I was told they were short handed and they would get to it the next day, no problem. Got a call back about to two hours later and was told it was all taken care of, the cost is $534. I asked about the call from the manager and they had no answer, but said I could talk to him when I came to pick it up. I was to annoyed to talk to him and get the run around I assumed was coming. I had already called twice and attached a letter explaining my concerns. The factory part retail is $134 although you can find off brands for $30. The labor to unplug and replace they charged was $300. That works out to at least $150 per hour based on the time between my phone calls today. I should have done my research instead of trusting the dealership. Toyota service I don't see it. The truck had less than 5000 miles when the issue first came up. The fees they charged , outrageous, the follow up/follow through, non existent. Awful customer experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

The vibe they send out is the don't care whether you buy the car or not, so the customer can't care more than the business owner, so 3 strikes and you're out. Can they have ZERO stars? Took car in for oil change and inspection. They then wanted to charge very high price compared to what non-dealers two toyota dealers nearby charge - whom we called - to do the same maintenance stuff. We declined over the phone because of the price. Went back and got the car, inspected it ourselves, found the gas cap would not open. Since we'd filled it right before going, and it had been fine, it seemed weird. Took it back there. They charged a full $150 hour rate for a 10 minute inspection of it, to tell us it would cost approximately $400.00 additional money to fix the gas cap latch line - over $250 more than other dealers. They wanted us to pay upfront for the part, and said if we decided not to get it done there they wouldn't let us return the part - of course we declined. Called the other dealers and a local garage, got 1/2 the price quoted for the whole job including the part. Note that the other dealers and shop called said they order the part, then call when it's in, and if we decline getting it done there, they just return the part, they do not make people pay up front in order to lock them in to going there. We will never even drive by this place without thinking "rip off". Never again. Not for anything. read more

First all they advertise a vehicle on line with one price then after talking to someone and driving 25 min. to the dealership, they give me a higher price and tell me it is the best that they can do. THEN, what really upset me was after paying on a car for 2 year and NEVER missing a payment, and my credit score going up, they charge me a 9.3 percent higher interest rate. I had purchased a car from Matick Toyota and I had nothing but issues with this car. First there was water and the truck the spare tire was completely submerged, none of the 12v outlets worked. They did fix that issues after me having to go back and forth with the manager cause at that time I only had the car 1day. But after a week more issues occurred like when I applied the brakes they scream for dear life when coming to a stop. The car chokes and the morning like it want to cut off and mind you the car is only 5 years old.I called the service team multiple times trying to explain to them what's going on but they say they can't do anything about it, and absolutely ridiculous. I just bought this car only had it a month and I already have a handful of issues like I didn't get a car note just to have to fix it up immediately I would not recommend buying a car from here. They was supposed to have an inspection on the car before they sell it to make sure everything is good with the car and clearly did not look at it. Honestly had a great experience at this location that it deserves a 5 star rating. I was able to buy a new car and trade mine in for a fair price fairly quickly. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and never pushy. With that said, once I got home with the car, I noticed one of the back windows wouldn't roll down with the driver's button. Shame on me for not checking them all out during a test drive, but it's winter and the car is only 5 years old so I never thought to. You would think the dealership would thoroughly inspect a car before selling it especially with something so basic like a window! Since I didn't purchase any extended warranty, they won't fix it. I discovered it only 24hrs after buying the car and I'm sure it never worked even before I bought it. If it had broken after I bought the car, then sure I would understand thats Make sure to test EVERYTHING out when buying a car from here. Even the most basic things on newer cars. **UPDATE: I was able to take it in free of charge and my window was fixed by them before my car even got pulled into the service area!
