I bought my very first new car here after having a hand-me-down car for the first few years of my driving life. Decided on a 2008 Prius and paid about sticker -- there was a long waiting list and it was only getting worse so there wasn't much room for negotiating. I got on it with a two month wait and it was up to nine months by the time my car arrived. Hal was my salesman and he's an extremely nice man. He always responded quickly to any questions I had in the early days, though I don't keep in contact anymore now that I'm good with the car. The service department does solid work, though the waiting room is very small, especially compared to other dealerships I've been to. All in all, McInerney Toyota is a solid dealership that I would have no qualms recommending to someone. read more

Again I tried to schedule service 1/22/19 with Matick this time at their new location. I used their web form to schedule a day to do my 2011 4 runner takata airbag recall. They claim they will get a hold of you within 24/48 hours. This is and has been an outright lie because they never contact you. I had to get ahold (call) of customer care to further this request. Upon talking with service this is another story of grief, that they might have trouble because my vehicle is a Canadian build they will have difficulty. I also asked if they can install an oem block heater and they tell me that they have never done one and can't find directions on the website. Really?? I gave them a YouTube and Toyota mfg specific verbage on its installation and they don't even thank me. Terrible customer care. Terrible service they previous visit also had a waterpump incorrectly diagnosed/replaced as failed and installed last year. They scare people into getting service done over the phone. I recently took my 2015 Camry to Matick. I noticed that the carpet in back-seat was soaking wet. The service department was good enough to let me stop-in to have it looked at on a Friday afternoon, without an appointment. They told me the following: - My AC drainage was plugged and that water was backing up into to the inside of the car under my seats. - They said they would clear it. After I left, I found it was still partially plugged and still leaking a large volume of water into my car. - They said they vacuumed the majority of the water out of the carpet. After I left, each time I would brake, I could hear several gallons of water rushing forward. - I told them that the car had smelled of mildew off and on since spring, but I thought it was from the dash vents. (This was likely a clue to the real problem that they ignored). One of the service writers told me that I should sprinkle some of that 'carpet fresh stuff' onto the carpet and vacuum it up and that would 'help soak up the water'. What a mess that would have made. He also told me the problem might have been caused by leaves in the window well. Not very likely. They had me in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. They did no checking, no diagnosis, did not even completely unplug the AC drain, and did not even try to remove any of the water. The carpet was still saturated after I left. I took my car to my original dealer. I am not located as close to them as I used to be, and Matick (unfortunately) is closer to my work. My original dealer recognized that this was a problem occurring on some cars. They took the car for two days, removed the seats and carpeting, and completely dried everything. The problem with the AC drain was fixed by installing updated hardware that was designed to fix the water issue on cars exhibiting the problem. As I was still under warranty, they arranged for a car to use at no cost to me. Whether the service department at Matick knew about this existing problem, or just didn't care, I don't know. This was all part of a warranty repair so they would have been paid by Toyota to perform the repairs. Seems like a bad business practice to turn away paid work. When I thought that Matick had fixed the AC drain blockage, I asked them about getting the carpet replaced, or at least removed and dried. I was told that even though I was under warranty, Toyota would 'never pay for that'. I had been to Matick once previously to get an oil change, with no issues. Apparently, when it comes to something less than routine they are simply unwilling or unable to help a customer properly. This is my 5th new Camry and I am shocked at this kind of behavior and treatment from a representative of Toyota. Given how easy it is for customers to plaster bad service and treatment by a dealer all over the internet, I am shocked that Matick could afford to be this sloppy and incompetent. I will definitely be following up with Toyota regarding their conduct. Lesson learned I guess. I will be happy to drive out of my way to my original dealer, I don't believe I can trust Matick with even a simple oil change at this point. read more

I saw a certified preowned Toyota corolla online in their website for a very very good deal and went to the dealer to purchase the car. One of their salesman was surprised to know they have one at their showroom for such a good deal. I was ready to make a down payment and take the car but the salesman asked me to come next day as he has to do some paperwork for it. When I went next day to purchase the car he said it was sold out. Would never purchase another car from this dealer again due to bad customer service. After much research, I identified a car online that I wanted to purchase. I did not ask to pay less than sticker price. I was told that a deposit was not accepted and that I would have to use dealer financing to hold the car. I was then asked if I could come in the next day to sign, and after signing, drive to the other dealer location the same day. When I said that was not possible during my lunch, I was asked if I could miss 4 hours of work instead. This was just to sign papers, even though there are 2 weekday evening hours at the dealer. Do they need to immediately clear cars and fill spots? If so, should they inconvenience customers for their gain? I'm not dealing with that ever again. read more

They get one star for their sales mgmt and sales staff. Specifically, their service after the sale has been extremely poor. 1. They submitted the title work with the wrong information which has created an expensive and time consuming pain. When I called to discuss, the sales manager was not helpful and acted annoyed. 2. When I called to inquire about the routine maintenance, I was given blatantly incorrect information which caused a wild goose chase. I know get the car serviced by a different and better Toyota dealership. 3. He is always very accommodating, friendly and efficient. The few times I worked with others in service, they were all wonderful. I went in for the Toyota Supra. It's a new release car with 335 hp and $56,000 price tag. I asked some questions, looked the car over and asked for the availability to test drive it. I was then told they need a commitment. When I asked what type of committee, I was told that this is an expensive car (like I couldn't afford it) and that it's a fast car (my current car has 485 hp) as if I'm going for a joy ride and would crash it (don't they have insurance if that happens). I could easily go to Golling, Suburban or Fox Toyota all within 45 minutes or less. Very disappointed in being treated like a lower class person not by the salesperson who was nice and accommodating but by management. read more

This review is not for the dealership but about one of their employees who I believe represented the company very poorly. I was at the Morley's Candy Store not far from their dealership. I went in to get a chocolate treat for my office, which I do from time to time. There was only me and one other person who I later found to be an employee of this dealership by his (dealership plate) on his Scion. He was very impolite to the employee (who appeared to be around 16 years of age) he then asked for the manager on duty (it was close to closing) and the young lady that came out was about 16 years old as well. The Scion employee seemed to not be pleased with the manager who appeared and badgered her about her title and where the other manager was. She listened to his concerns which were that he was upset that he had to move his things from one register to another. The young man working was working behind the counter and was unaware that the manager had closed the register and he was apologetic to the Scion employee. He was polite to me and answered the questions I asked but it seemed as if nothing was enough for this Scion employee. I finished my transaction after the Scion employee but he was still in the parking lot and left after me, as I waited on Hall Road for the traffic to clear, I guess I did not go fast enough because the Scion employee laid on his horn and proceeded to speed around me. This left a bad taste in my mouth about the level of service that they provide at the dealership, when an employee would act in such a way. I like Scion cares but if I decide to get one in the future I will not patronize McInerney Toyota-Scion. You never know who's watching and when you're representing a business you should act accordingly. read more

I'm reviewing my experience with Brian in the service center. He was very friendly, thorough, and prompt. Overall, the people in the service center tried to fit me in as quickly as possible, were very nice when I got there, and did all of the necessary maintenance work very promptly. I could not have been happier with them. Prior to coming to McInerney, I took my car to Lafontaine Toyota in Dearborn. The people at Lafontaine were so rude, very slow, and unhelpful. They even tried to get me to pay $250 for something I didn't need. The people at McInerney are a million times better. read more

I strongly caution anyone and everyone against going through this dealership. On a Saturday I noticed a vehicle I found intriguing. After speaking with my fiancé, we agreed it would suit us well and decided to take a Sunday drive and check out some dealerships in the area without being hounded by sales people (I strongly recommend if you want to physically see what they have, but aren't ready to test drive. Most if not all dealerships are closed on Sundays.) I utilized the online feature on the website that allows you to "Check Availability" on any vehicle that might pique your interest. Sunday evening, we hit this button, which prompted us to enter a name and phone number, and the approximate time of day we would like to come in, evening. At 9:09 on Monday morning we received a text from a rep named Ashley stating that the vehicle in question was available. We set up a meeting for 5:30pm. She then requested that if we wanted to get an offer for a trade in, then we needed to bring that vehicle. The vehicle we planned to trade in was in pretty rough shape, but it does run. I drove it up there! 1) They sold the vehicle they told us not even 9 hours before hand was available, made an appointment with us, then sold it out from under us. We were fully prepared to buy that vehicle that day. Never given the chance. Got us on their lot though. 2) Honestly, it may sound silly, but my heart was set on the vehicle we requested and made the appointment for. I wanted to leave, but felt trapped because in this area, there are no other dealerships that sell decent, low mileage vehicles for under $10K. Living in the greater metro-area is expensive on its own, but the auto industry and dealerships have made it almost impossible for low-income families to purchase reliable vehicles. They WILL NOT finance vehicles over 10 years old, while there may be a few exceptions to this, that is the general rule. 3) The salesman immediately started showing us vehicles over the price of the original one we chose. They were more expensive and in worse shape! One car was so bad I literally hit the gas once and immediately said no. The salesman was also working with two other people while trying to work with us...very timely... 4) The manager came to speak with us after the salesman told us that they sold the vehicle we came into see. This manager looked me in my face and said "this is just how we do business. It happens all the time. It can actually take days for the sales team and website to be updated on what's been sold." Uncaring, cold, and flat out rude. This person acted as if they were a motor mall! They are a small single lot dealership on Hall road for crying out loud. All I wanted was transparency. They told us they sold it that morning, but yet THEY CONTACTED US that SAME morning telling us it was available. Had they really sold it then (which its Tuesday night and it's STILL up on their website) all they need to do was send another text saying sorry they sold that one, maybe they can help us find something else! 5) Then they offered me $50 for a running car that is aesthetically in great shape, and mechanically needs $500-$800 worth of work, and they could have sold it for $4,000. I know this because I have done the work on this car myself since I purchased it, and I just didn't feel like wrenching on it anymore. read more

Great service! I was looking for a very specific car to replace my wife's car that was totaled. I found this exact car on TrueCar at Matick. I live out of state so I was not able to personally look at or test drive the car, but it was exactly as stated. They helped me to get everything done quickly over the phone and by overnight mail. They also sent the car off with a full tank of gas and the best auto detailing I've ever seen on a new or used car that I've purchased. Took my 2002 Toyota Corolla with 5900 miles on it for a check engine light problem. The had scheduled an appointment for me. When I arrived they wrote up my car and quickly got it into service. Jameson and the other service advisors were friendly and knowledgeable. It turned out I had a loose air box which was quickly repaired. I was charged a very reasonable amount of money. This review is specifically for the service department at Matick. I started having issues with my 2007 Toyota Corolla. The car is older, with about 194K miles on it. The smell of fumes and gas started to come from the vents. I took it to my usual neighborhood mechanic, who couldn't find anything wrong. The smell persisted. Now this car has been very good to me, never had to fix anything in the past, outside of maintenance. I decided to take it to the dealer, who advertises on their website to take it to the "experts" for an accurate diagnosis the first time. When I spoke with the service tech at the dealer, I said I would like to keep the car, but I also did not want to spend a ton of money fixing it, being mindful at how old the car was. The dealer told me it was a gasket near the manifold. $250. Then I get a call, saying oh no, the actual exhaust manifold is cracked, and needed to be replaced. $550. I received 10% off a part, per a coupon they have on their website. Got the car back, smell persisted. Took the car back to the dealer, who now tells me there is a leak in the front pipe, i.e. converter pipe,. $1700 to fix. Knowing I don't want to spend this much, but now I feel I have to because I think they have actually found the problem, they refer me to a muffler shop that can weld the part of the pipe I need for cheaper. I take it to the place they referred me to, tell them exactly what the dealer told me. $980. But this nice man brings me under the car to show me where the very visible holes are in the front pipe, and where the exhaust manifold was replaced. These two parts are right next to each other, and the holes in the front pipe are easily visible. Gotta say, now I'm pissed. I don't understand how this is missed the first time by the service techs at the dealer. But what is even better, I go through with replacing the pipe, AND IT ISN'T FIXED YET! The smell of fumes persists. My trusted family mechanic that lives 3 hours from here has now taken a look at the car and found a hole in the tail pipe, an engine leak, and the air cabin filter needed to be replaced. And tells me that he doesn't understand how in the very least, when you are complaining of smells coming from the vents, they don't check the air cabin filter. It was full of dirt, leaves, and somehow believes mice had holed up in there. Needless to say, after all of this, I have gotten rid of the car. I spoke with the manager of the service dept to express my anger and asked for a refund. I was told they were unable to refund any money for the parts "I just can't do that" and they would only refund the labor. I think had anyone at that service dept correctly told me what was wrong with the car the first time, I wouldn't have spent a cent fixing it, and I would have in fact just purchased a car from them. They supposedly issued a check on 11/27/19 to refund the labor. Never received it. I called again this past Monday. Received a voice message back on Tuesday stating they would re-issue the check and put it in the mail. I called back requesting that I pick the check up at this point. No call back, and still no check in the mail. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH MATICK TOYOTA AGAIN! They could have at least done the bare minimum right by me, and refunded the entire amount I spent. And now I can't even get the money I spent on labor back. I now have a new car, a Camry, that I purchased at another dealer, because no doubt, Toyota is a good car. But Matick will never see another red cent from me. read more

I recently purchased a brand new Toyota tundra from Matick Toyota in Macomb Township located at Hall road, my sales person was great to me. Upon driving the vehicle approximately three months down the road I had realized that my trucks alignment had felt like it was off. If the steering wheel was in the 12 o'clock position the vehicle would pull to the left and not drive straight. Upon taking my vehicle to the service department and stating to the service department that I thought there was an issue with my steering,I was advised that it was normal for it to feel that way , The dealership then took the vehicle in the back stated to me that the alignment was not off and took air pressure out of my vehicles tires and told me that all is ok, and it's all set. Approximately one month later I return to the same dealership and once again advise the service department that the steering is still is not aligned !! The head mechanic then came out and talked to me and stated " that is how Toyota's drive". And refused to check my alignment. I recently went to a suburban toyota located in Troy Michigan and had my alignment checked, the alignment was in fact off and needed to be adjusted. All said and done matick Toyota refused to check my alignment upon multiple request after I just purchased the vehicle and tried to explain to me that what I was feeling was normal, when in fact they were wrong . Terrible service from the service department and I will never be returning. 5/3/2018. Just brought my 2013 Toyota Venza in for scheduled maintenance. I had a couple noises that I asked be checked out. Rather than show empathy that it would be frustrating to have their product not operating correctly the service consultant Brian Mingling was very dismissive and just said "we'll take a look at it." of course when the service was done he informed me that they couldn't duplicate the noises. The noises are very pronounced and obvious to anyone who had driven the car. I tried to explain further about the issues and he was again dismissive and said " it will be $105 to have someone look at that." I'm like yeah but you said you would look at it and now you are saying I've got to pay you to look at it. Again he was rude and said "schedule a time and we will have someone take it apart and tell you what's wrong." I like my Toyota but I feel like as soon as you buy the car they want nothing to do with you...I will not go back to Matick either for service or to buy cars in the future. Saturday I went to the dealership dealt with a Salesman by the name of Erik Macklem. Did not have knowledge on the product on there lot. It was a 2015 Ford Escape. I don't care if product is not yours. You have it on your Lot you should 100 percent know it!! Then argued with My boyfriend about it. Very unprofessional way to run a Business!! Then Monday go back already bank approved all information was sent over. Vehicle wasn't cleaned at all. Brakes has issues that promised to be taken care of and wasnt!! So I spoke to the So called General Manager Rick Klaiss who said he would make it Right by me. Come back Wednessday look it over then I would be able to take Delievery of it. Now recieved a phone call stating that I can't get it today. There not Ready!!! Wow Apparently they didn't VALUE ME AS A CUSTOMER!!! Horrible experience. They are only out for themselves. Don't trust the service guys. They will tell you nothing is wrong with your car and screw you over when your warranty is up. Probably one of the worst experiences of my life going there. Yes, they lack empathy. They don't even listen when you tell them what is going on with your car. If you tell them your car makes a funny sound when you are going 65 miles an hour then they should GET IN the vehicle and drive it. Again, worst service ever.
