I called them this morning and they took me in same day for a last second filling - turned out I popped out an old filling from 10+ years ago and the tooth seemed fine. They made me feel way better about it - of course my mind goes straight to how pregnancy can compromise dental health but they made me feel way better about it. First I was told by the dental office I had no insurance which they knew better I'd been a patient for at least 3 months by that time. Then when I reached out to my dental insurance to check I was told a claim was put in incorrectly as if I already had the procedure done. When I contacted the office about this the office manager Christy told me it was entered incorrectly. So instead of offering to fix their mistake I had to call and find out why and then call back to have Christy to resubmit the PA request. I then asked to speak with Dr. Mullins 12/15/25, 12/31/25,1/5/26,1/8/26,3/5/26. Not only have I not been called back by Dr. Mullins but now I have been turned over to another dentist for my procedure because now Dr Lau has obligations at UMKC dentistry now. Incorrect insurance information, Incorrect PA submitted, lack of resolution, Critical communication breakdown, or just plain Ghosting.

The IV sedation and surgery was quick and professional. I don't have any past experience with surgeries, but my time spent in the waiting room was around 2 hours beyond my scheduled time of surgery. I also was left alone in the operating room for a while before being sedated and after waking up. I wish my husband had been allowed back there to help ease my nerves as a first-time sedation patient :/ Also, I feel like my husband should've been given the after-care information that I received (as I was fresh out of surgery and not fully alert).

There are many other periodontists in the area who truly care about their patients' comfort, emotional well-being, and pain management. This office does not. That is until three weeks ago when I received a call telling me I had an outstanding balance of $250. I explained that I have never received an accounting from them, etc. etc. and ask them to send me a bill. This morning--three maybe four--weeks after the initial call I contacted them asking where the bill is. Once again they claim they sent bills to me. I HAVE NEVER ONCE RECEIVED AN ACCOUNTING of a balance owed. NOR HAS anyone EVER called me about treatment.

I wanted an orthodontic viewpoint on a solution prior to the crowns and veneers flying. I chose to seek out the expertise from this group of Doctors as my son had his braces done with them & they were great. Kathy at the front desk was always pleasant too. Nancy, assistant to Dr. Beth Blackwell Nill began by asking me questions, listening and looking in my mouth. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Nill came in to meet with me. Same routine- asked questions, listened to my thoughts and examined my mouth. She discovered broken porcelain in between the two teeth and advised a more simple and cost effective solution to my problem would be to have another crown replaced rather than go down the path of orthodontia. Her passion for her work is clear and she has experience to back her expertise. She also gave me some great information about shading with respect to veneers and crowns, going to the labs and strongly encouraged me to make sure I was extremely satisfied with the work. Summit Village Family Dental was able to squeeze me in quickly and redo the filling without a problem. They also really care - they listened well to my concerns and told me that if the new filling was still causing me problems for any reason, they would redo it for free. I had to go back today due to breaking a tooth. Not only did Dr. Gleich fix the tooth, she was able to make and place the permanent crown. Every procedure has been explained. I've been able to see all my x rays and make informed decisions about my dental care plan. Comfy chairs in the waiting room and excellent coffee selections. Becky who works at the front desk and schedules appointments is wonderful to work with and was able to get me the next day after I called due to a cancellation.
