I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. Let me start off my saying that my massage with Tessa was actually very good. She was very professional, had a great attitude, and perfect pressure. Maybe I am wrong in my memory here but I remember Matrix to be more upscale. Instead, I was worried that someone would steal my purse while I got a massage. It was odd. So far I'm loving Matrix. I just recently joined and I actually look forward to going in, which says a lot if you know me at all. I'm so not a gym person. I'm not a fitness person. I get out of breath walking to my car. These are all sad truths that led me to the point of saying, "I have got to do SOMETHING." So I hopped onto Yelp, typed in "gym," and quickly came across Matrix and its positive reviews. I gave them a call and David answered; he was kind and casual and showed interest, and he invited me in for a tour. I stopped by later that day and ended up signing a contract on my way out, as I was impressed by both the facility and the customer service. First of all, I love that it's a gym and a spa, the best of both worlds. As a member you receive spa discounts, but you don't HAVE to be a member to take advantage of the spa. The whole place smells so good like essential oils and aromatherapy candles; no stale sweaty gym smell. I also like the location of Matrix; in an old building on Lincoln with a parking garage and reserved spots. You never have to worry about parking, which is huge. It takes enough of my energy to convince myself to get up and go to the gym. If I had to worry about finding a parking spot I'd probably never show up. The facility and equipment are soooo nice. This is a small boutique gym, so don't expect rows and rows of never-ending treadmills and weights. The good news is that they cap their membership at a certain number so it doesn't get overcrowded. There's always plenty of people roaming about, but you won't feel like you're being rushed or watched. Hallelujah. On my first two visits I worked out with two separate trainers, David and then Tyler. Both were encouraging and patient and funny. Neither made me feel ridiculous for being so ridiculously out of shape (I literally walked on the treadmill for 5 minutes and couldn't catch my breath). The trainers are here to help you make and meet goals, listen to your story, and inspire you to get and stay healthy. It's pretty therapeutic, really. In addition to personal training, state of the art gym equipment, a beautiful spa, and great locker rooms with saunas and showers and blow dryers/curling irons/etc., you'll also find group classes like TRX training, spin, yoga, power sculpting, pilates, kickboxing, and more. I have only recently began going to Matrix Fitness & Spa, as I am new to the area. However, after getting an amazing massage from Matthew, I will forever be a client. Within one month's time, I've seen Matthew four times, and plan on seeing him weekly forever more. Matthew's massages are spot on--he asks specific questions about how you wish to be treated (for example, do you feel more relief when I do more range of motion or trigger point), he executes professionally, and I leave feeling relief and have complete satisfaction. As a personal trainer and health and fitness professional myself, his techniques are truly some of the best I've ever worked with. The owners, Kathy and Larry, are wonderful people and genuinely care about their members. They've added a new General Manager (Nick) and new Fitness Manager (Nick), and the vibe is very uplifting and positive. Karen and Hayne are knowledgeable, friendly, and are there to assist whenever needed, as they've been there for a long while. As many of the other members have mentioned below, this place is a total scam. My girlfriend and I joined after I was told it would be a month-to-month membership (an agreement that was arranged through my company). After three months I tried to cancel my girlfriend's membership and the folks at the gym and ASF Payment Solutions had mysteriously forgotten about the deal and told me I was locked in for a year or needed to pay $900 fee to get out of it. Despite numerous attempts to reason with multiple people at the gym and ASF Payments Solutions, I was duped into paying for two-year-long memberships that we did not use. I was so disgusted with the actions and business practices of Matrix Fitness and their third party payment processor ASF Payment Solutions, that I willing paid for a membership at a different gym in the area. As a digital advertising professional who has lived and worked in Denver for most of my life, I am shocked and offended by the way this company does business. Awesome spa! I found Matrix on a Groupon and ended up joining their monthly spa membership. It's the same price (or less) as a Massage Envy or Hand & Stone, but the options for your monthly service (massages, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, etc) are way better. You walk into a relaxing spa environment, offered wine or tea, a robe..the locker rooms have a steam room--it's a much better experience than the chain places. I really enjoy this gym and spa! Not gonna lie, I enjoy the spa side a little more. I've been seeing Keith for massage for a couple months and he's incredible. He is very intuitive and uses various techniques to really make the most of the time. I feel like butter when all is said and done. I highly recommend Keith (and/or Kelsey) to anyone looking to book spa services at Matrix. And if you're looking for personal training, definitely try working with Jordan. This gym is really nice, in a great location with great staff! I was only online to search for the group exercise schedule (which I like and take advantage of) and saw a couple grumpy reviews - I rarely write reviews but it prompted me to write this: Who takes all this time to go and vent about the fact that they are trying to get out of the deal they cut with a gym? - If you sign up for something, you need to pay for it ... kind of straight-forward. If your life changes, you still need to pay for what you agreed. The management is always making changes and upgrades to the service and equipment, so 'yes' occasionally things are under repair - just like everything else in the world. I purchased a membership here because it's close to my house. I'm a person who teaches yoga and wanted simply to do cardio consistently even when it's snowy or hot outside. The membership starts with 2 private sessions to get you going. I was set up with a private session with Meagan. The first session was about 20 minutes. She asked me questions then took me in a room to get my baseline readings and she could not figure out one of the machines, said it was broken and because of that I couldn't get my readings. She asked my goals and I clearly said: I'm not training for anything, I want to do my simple 30-45 minute exercise consistently, not dependent on the weather. I bike ride and do yoga now. From the private sessions my goal is to set me up a short routine to get my heart rate up and be a sustainable practice for me to do 4x per week. I want to get stronger so I don't feel like I'm going to die when I hike a 14er or go snowshoeing with friends. I have been a yoga teacher for years and I can do hot and exertion yoga although its not my preferred. She said ok and sent me home. 2nd session: I arrive and she launched into a boot camp style, obviously not at all what I was looking for 'training session'. It wasn't created with me in mind, this was her standard thing. She started bragging on how many guys she has kicked their ass in training sessions when they thought she couldn't train. My response? I don't need my ass kicked I simply want a routine that works for me. She laughs. Again in a few minutes, I wonder if I didn't make myself clear and said 'I'm not the kind that would join a boot camp I'm just wanting to be moderately fit and exercise daily for stamina'. She yelled at me in front of the entire gym when I wasn't going fast enough. I asked for water 3 times. Once she said OK. The other times she said 'in a minute'. I kept telling myself to just grit my teeth and get through the time. I realize some people enjoy this type of work out. I don't. I ended up feeling like I was going to pass out due to lack of water and the shock of the exertion to my body and had to lay down. I tried to make it to the bathroom but ended up only getting to the hall. I've taken yoga from master teachers of all levels and never passed out. She simply had a mission to push me and humiliate me, when I said time and time again that I didn't want that, before and during the time. Matrix - not everyone is the same. You can't 'one size fits all' your trainers. Some people really do want a 30-45 minute exercise that gets their heart rate up... I guess the key would be to listen? My review of the facility would be good. The other staff were OK although somewhat condescending... but this trainer experience soured me to a point of giving this the least stars available. read more

The gym is mahogany 80s vibe. Green carpet I believe, with dark wood, set in upscale building. Machines are descent. Small but enough room to work out. I thought it was an average gym. One of the yoga classes was great, one was ridiculously bad. Overall, the proximity to my house at the time was perfect, though, which is really important. I thought the GM, Kami, was nice and straight to the point, despite what others have said. During the 1-week trial period, though, one of the senior sales guys greets me after a post-hangover workout in an invading space way-bro-kind of way, "How was the workout? You going to join?? We're not one of those gyms that gives out free workouts--are you going to join???" I said, I'm not sure, I'm still trying it out. "Well we're not just a place to get free classes, so I want to know if you're thinking about joining??" Pretty much all in one sentence like that. I washed it up to an awkward encounter. Wouldn't you know it, the next time I come in, a couple days later, after the workout, the same attitude, more intense. It is an ok gym, though, and not too crowded, however, I found other gyms and facilities better in comparison, and ended up joining another. read more

I have learned my lesson about reading contracts before signing them thanks to Matrix Fitness & Spa. Last year I spent over $2,000.00 dollars on personal training sessions after a free consultation with a personal trainer. He was a great personal trainer and I really enjoyed working with him. Shortly after getting a personal trainer, I moved over 30 miles (50 min in traffic) from the gym. I didn't attempt to cancel my personal training at that point as I was getting results. Shortly after that however, my trainer informed me that he was leaving the gym for reasons I wont get into here. After his last day, I wanted to get refunded the remaining training sessions. I called the gym and Kami Bank's the gym's general manager informed me that my training was non refundable as stated in their contract. I immediately told her to check the contract, as I told the personal trainer to add a sentence that if he left the gym, I would get any unused training sessions refunded. She told me it wasn't written on the contract, and that I could only use the remaining sessions with another trainer. (I should have made sure he wrote it on the contact) At this point I was pretty steamed as I don't understand for the life of me why a gym would want to leave a dirty taste in the mouths of otherwise happy customers. After a few emails back and forth and hearing from the old trainer that the gym doesn't refund anyone even if they move out of state, I asked Kami if the gym wants another negative review regarding their membership policies. The gym did end up offering me a $350.00 refund for the remaining sessions, if I signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding my experience with Matrix Fitness & Spa. I couldn't bring myself to signing it and leaving all future prospects of Matrix Fitness & Spa in the dark. I was told that if I talk about my experience with anyone, Matrix would use all legal means possible to prosecute me for slander, etc. Well as you can tell, I don't take threats lightly. Here is my negative truthful review of Matrix Fitness & Spa. Future Member BEWARE! And, as for Matrix Fitness & Spa owners, I suggest you replace Kami Banks immediately if you want the gym to survive. I hear the gym is doing terrible, and I guarantee Kami Bank's demeanor is playing a huge part in its current state. My co-worker introduced me to Matrix by taking me to a Pilates class which I thought was terrific. I've since joined as a member and have been very satisfied with the gym overall. This gym is definitely not your typical Bally's or 24 hour Fitness--it is much smaller and has a cap on their membership so it doesn't get too crowded. Pros: -Each cardio machine has an individual TV screen/computer monitor and you can choose from reading the news online, watching 10 or so different channels, or listening to the radio. -Has any and all machines/equipment that I would want -Good selection of classes (all included with membership fee) -Friendly and competent instructors (including Becky the Pilates instructor who is always perky and nice) -Steam room -Locker rooms and entire facility is very nice--extremely clean and fancy looking. -parking in garage is included in membership -separate spin theater room with fancy bikes Cons: -The locker rooms are on the small side and can sometimes feel crowded -The group exercise room is too small, some classes feel crowded -no pool read more

Matrix is extremely clean and the employees friendly. They have a huge assortment of equipment, but often I've found the machines out of service and not marked. I think their logic may be it makes the club look better if they don't have Out of Service signs on the equipment. It's awkward for clients to step up on a broken stomaching. Second complaint is when you place your membership on hold for say the month of June because you plan to workout biking, it never fails. They keep charging your checking account. That's followed up with the same excuse. Their 2nd party vendor in charge of the task made a mistake. It's frustrating because I am flawless in my business. The details matter and when it comes to $$$, people are especially sensitive. That's reasonable. Another small issue that just may be my thing, I don't enjoy all the club rats that work for Matrix or freelance. Weekly I am approached by some musclebound guy 1/2 my age trying to sell me training. I don't care if I look like Lucille Ball on the equipment. I seem to get the results I want. Matrix is less expensive than the DAC, but if I didn't mind the parking issue, I'd probably be a customer. Matrix is a fantastic gym! Unlike your 24 hour fitness, it's never crowded (even at 6 pm, I've never had to wait for a machine; classes are usually 6 people at most). It is meticulously clean, and always a great workout environment. People are friendly, but you don't get that meat-market vibe that you do in other gyms. The locker rooms and steam room are really nice, with all of the basic needed amenities. I love that each machine has its own TV/radio/internet available. On the downside, it doesn't have a pool, and their class schedule is a little bit limited. read more

Amazing Spa experience! I got a fab Groupon deal and loved my Spa experience. I got a Swedish massage with a hot stone treatment and a foot scrub treatment. They were all awesome! Amber Gray was amazing! All of the staff was friendly and the space had a good vibe. I loved the waterfall in the massage space and the design of the spa was quite nice. My only issues were that about 40 min into the massage someone yelled 'What the frick?!" in the hallway. As the gym is so near by, it could've been someone from there. Also, going to the steam room after my massage I was stared down by about a half dozen fitness people. Three of them snarled at me in the locker room. WTF? But, as I am guessing neither of those experiences are due to staff, I can't really incorporate that into my star tally. Plus, I could've used a towel and wasn't shown where they are kept. Otherwise, I highly recommend Amber - she was fantastic! I had allergies and she was very accomodating. It was a super great experience that I will keep in mind for the future! read more

The facility is nice but have had some major issues with management & billing. After my first 6 training sessions were over i repurchased another 6 and paid cash (like i had with the first 6). Then I tore my ACL playing soccer, and unfortunately was not able to get back into the gym until nearly 8 - 9 months later. I spoke with Kami Banks and she informed me there was no record of the transaction, and how was she to believe that I actually had paid for the training sessions even though she could see I was in the gym on the date that I had trained, which was also detailed on my personal calendar. Basically calling me a liar which blew my mind. She then explained that the Matrix was not responsible for their trainers collecting money, and I should have asked for a receipt in payment (although I had already purchased the initial 6 sessions in cash). Long story short, I was offered NO compensation and out of pocket $500. It was an extremely combative conversation and as a business consultant I would never treat a client in the way I was treated. The facility is relatively clean, convenient and the staff (other than management) is friendly. Fortunately since I had been with the gym for so long when I cancelled my membership I was in a month to month contract so there was no friction in getting out of the contract. Kami answered the phone and did even attempt to keep my as a client, which again shows her dedication to being a good manager and maintaining positive client relations. read more

The cons: it's an awkward walk from the locker rooms to the spa in a robe and you have to ask for a towel. The "botanic showers" are just regular showers with leaves painted on the door... The facilities I would give 3.5 stars the massage was not great 2 stars maybe The therapist I saw was really rough (I kept asking for less pressure) and moved really quickly. I've been a member for 2 years and love Matrix...ample cardio machines around the perimeter for looking out the windows (or just watching tv if you are like me); plenty of free weights and weight machines through the center. Sure, during peak times it is crowded, but I prefer to gym it after 7, so normally, there are maybe 10 people there.The trainers are fantastic - they push you to work hard during classes and know their stuff. Free, garage parking is super. Just a tip - you enter/exit on the "wrong" side here, but this is now well marked. Be sure to use the mirrors on the walls to help see around the corners. Why is this not "5 stars; woohooo as good as it gets"? It is pretty darn close but I just think space may pose a problem here. There is only 1 room for classes, 1 for spin and 1 for TRX, so you can only have so many classes going at once and it would be great to have a few different ones (like a ballet inspired one, but they had an intro to kettlebells, so maybe that will be introduced). PS I love that they know me at the front desk...I think customer service is very important and this just the kind of thing that I relish in. read more

I came here for a massage so this review is about the Spa at Matrix. I purchased a groupon for a massage- I am always weary of buying a groupon for a massage with the thought that they might not take you as seriously as a client since you are not paying full price. This is exactly what happened at Matrix. For starters the massages are only 50 minutes, which is already 10 minutes shorter than the average massage. When I showed up, I was greeted about 5 minutes late, and then given another 5 minutes to undress (way too long). Not only was the massage cut short, I felt that the massage therapist really rushed through the whole thing. She massaged my back, the back of my legs, feet, neck and shoulders. Totally skipped the front of my legs, hands and arms! I guess there was not enough time to do that.. That being said, the massage itself was very relaxing! The therapist used the perfect amount of pressure and I felt great walking out of there. Would I recommend a massage here? Yes. However, I do not recommend buying a groupon for it. read more

I was a member at corepower yoga also and cancelling took five minutes. Had a groupon for a massage deal at Matrix so I am only basing my review on the spa. The spa area is nice and relaxing. The front desk staff was pleasant and I filled out the usual ho-hum, we want to know everything about your body paperwork. My masseuse was great, made me felt comfortable and not at all awkward. Did I mention it was my first "man massage"? Why I have not experienced the joys of man hands before is a mystery to me. I'll never go to a girl again. :) A few nitpicky complaints... - I never got a towel or robe to change into at the end of my service and I had to store my clothes on the ground of the massage room. I'd love a nice little locker so my unmentionables aren't making anyone trip. - The foot scrub was MEH. I don't know how a foot scrub could not feel good but this one didn't. The scrub was an awkward texture and it was applied with rubber gloves which made it feel even more awkward. Skip this add on. I LOVE my gym. I grew up going to Greenwood Athletic Club in Greenwood Village and so was pretty spoiled when it came to gyms, but this one measures up! Let's just get right down to the nitty gritty of why you should chose this as your fitness home: 1) Cleanliness - You can actually shower in this place and not only is it not gross, it is actually *enjoyable*, which I've found is the #1 factor to me in becoming a consistent gym-goer. I was a (very inconsistent) member of 24 Hour Fitness for years. I never got in regularly because if I had to shower afterward I would have to drive all the way home, lest I contract some weird fungus or have to avoid the nasty clumps of hair and what-not in the bathroom. The showers and locker room are pristine, have a spa vibe and the equipment is consistently cleaned throughout the day. A++ in this regard. 2) Capacity - When first joining, I was informed that they cap their membership at 1,000. I didn't really practically know what this meant, but it is evident to me now that this is just about the perfect size for the gym. I've never - literally never - had to wait for a piece of equipment, cardio machine or shower stall. I typically come in for an hour around 6:00-7:00 am , but have also frequented in the evenings around 6:00 pm. When my schedule allows, I sneak off mid-day and practically have the place to myself, which is simply lovely. 3) People - Staff is friendly all the time. I often bring my lunch in and they're happy to store it for me while I work out. You can tell that there are some friends who attend the gym as people are friendly to each other and sometimes talk. As for me, I like to get in and sweat it out, not chit chat; to that end, no one ever tries to strike up an awkward conversation with me and I can come in and do my thing in peace. 4) Location - I work downtown and this place is in the perfect location for me. A huge plus is the parking. I always feel safe going in and out and they have plenty of parking spaces. 5) Spa - I've only utilized the spa services a couple times. They weren't fantastic, but good enough that I would recommend them. Only downside is a very small and open wait room which isn't ideal (for me) post-spa treatment. Since joining I've lost about 9 pounds without changing my diet, and I credit this wholly to the fact that I actually enjoy the experience of going to the gym now. Although it is much pricier than 24 Hour etc, it is well worth budgeting for it if you value a place where you can feel comfortable and clean. For the first time since I lived at home with my parents in college, I can actually say that I have established a positive workout routine that works for me and is a valued part of my life. Our Denver Routine included going three times a week to the Matrix Fitness and Spa, located in our Beauvallon apartment complex at 925 Lincoln Street. We loved it and, because we were long-term renters, membership was included in our rent. The people who worked at Matrix were lovely. One of the trainers/receptionists, Jessica, remembered our names almost immediately. That was really neat. The equipment and the gym was as good as any we have experienced in our 13 years of world wide travel. It was actually as good as or better than any of the Four Seasons gyms we have used in the world, which is saying a lot. Each of the cardio machines was equipped with a personalized LCD touch screen. We were able to stay tuned to the reports on the 2008 presidential election as well as the 2008 financial meltdown even when exercising. What a benefit! Audre had an age-denying goal of running a 10 km in less than an hour, as she had done when she was turning 50, 60 and 61. And before her birthday, she did reach her goal at the Matrix gym. It took lots of training and three different attempts. She was despairing. But she persevered. Yeah! She was also a very good weight after working out at the Matrix gym. She was 100 pounds and muscular. After using the aerobic equipment, Dimitri and Audre both used the Cybex and the Strive weight machines to get stronger. It took about 1 and one-half years for Audre to get to her goal weight of 100 pounds. Over that time, Audre slowly reduced her caloric intake (Dimitri and Audre always share one meal now) so she hardly noticed that she was on a diet. The one thing that Audre did notice in July or August, 2008 was that she no longer felt stuffed every night after dinner. It turns out that starting February 2008 her body took notice of the effort she was making, and she lost a pound or 2 a month. Audre's really happy about this and wanted to share it with the world. If we hadn't enjoyed the Matrix gym so much, Dimitri and Audre wouldn't have been so conscientious about going and Audre wouldn't have achieved her goals! After 1 hour on the cardio equipment and 45 minutes on the weight machines, then came the reward portion of our Matrix experience. In the ladies and men's locker rooms there were steam baths. After our exercise, we would each spend 20 minutes luxuriating in our respective steam rooms. Then we would shower and change clothes. Audre loved the detail in the locker room. For instance, the shower doors were inlaid with green fern leaves. The hooks for the towels were muscular men with out-stretched arms to hold the towels. There were disposable razors, Q-tips, cotton balls, deodorant, lotion, hair spray and all of the other products that in other gyms we would typically have to bring ourselves. read more

I wanted to update my review because this place still gets five starts after 3 years with them! I especially like my trainer, Matt Rothing! If you are looking to lose weight, then you should seriously consider giving Matrix a try and specifically ask for a Matrix Fit session with Matt. He continually keeps the workouts fresh to confuse the muscles and always keeps your heart rate up to help burn fat and calories. Since lifting with Matt, I have seen impressive results in my lifting ability and have reached all of my lifting goals ahead of the goal time allowing us to push me farther than I thought I could ever go! Matt's uncanny ability to make the workout exactly what you need to reach your goal makes him the best trainer I've ever had. You just have to be willing to eat clean and put in the work! The facility is great, and the staff have been amazing! It's always, and I mean ALWAYS clean on the gym floor. You never have to wait on a machine because of the variety of weights they have. If you are a cardio nut, you might be a little disappointed with the number of cardio machines, but honestly I have never seen them all full, so I understand why the gym would just focus on functional weight building equipment instead. I've been a member at Matrix for the last month and it has been one of the best experiences I have had since moving to Denver in 2011. I've been trying for years to get into a better exercise routine, eat better and manage my health and, after just one month, I feel I have all three of these goals firmly in place. Matt, my personal trainer, has pushed me and encouraged me. He has the right combination of kindness, high energy and commitment to my health goals - each week I feel challenged and invigorated. Emilee came up with a nutrition plan that has me eating at regular intervals during the day - good, healthy options that have provided me with more energy for my time at the gym and my time outside of Matrix. After one month, pounds and inches have been lost and I know I am doing it in a healthy way. Matrix has been an inspiration for me. I've been working with trainers who are thoughtful and encouraging with just enough intensity to push me further but to not discourage me. The space itself is wonderful - a clean locker room, always plenty of towels, lots of options for classes and a positive, upbeat energy - all make it a space that I want to come to on a daily basis. read more

I used to be a member of the gym, but have since switched to CAC. However, as much as I love my new gym, the massage services just don't compare to Matrix's spa services, so I still use the spa at least once a month at the Matrix. Once a season, they offer a tremendous package that I always look forward to!! Shaun is the massage therapist I prefer. He is wonderful and I always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. He can expertly assess where my muscles are most in need of massage and deep tissue work. I definitely recommend him. For Facials - Tiffany is my recommendation. Facials are under-rated in my opinion, but I see a huge difference if I get them done at least once every month. Maintenance seems to be key as my skin breaks out less, the pores are smaller and it's natural hydration seems better which is beneficial in Colorado's dry climate. Definitely a plus that the spa is a serene space and although attached to the gym, the facilities are placed at opposite ends for your relaxing pleasure. read more

They have free trials and no hassles or pressure to get you signed up in the gym. I've tried 4 gyms around Capitol Hill, City Park, and Lodo area to find a gym that suits my night shift schedule and type of fitness training and this is hands down the cleanest, fresh (new state of the art equipment), affordable gym in Denver/Metro area. I am more in to body weight crossfit training and they have it all in this gym. They have kettlebells, battling ropes, med balls, bands and TRX! But its unfortunate that we are moving the Denver area soon and will have to find another gym that is closely similar to this one. Seriously, try this gym and you'll be amaze on how affordable it is for all the amenities and classes that they offer. Have fun! read more

Just had a great girls spa day here - had a massage with hot stones and a foot treatment with Lacey. That was followed by a wonderful microdermabrasion and facial with Tiffany!! What a great spot with breathtaking views to take in while you're working out - loved the window in the TRX room!! First of all. This location gives out a card that reads "if you give us a 5 star review on google you get $20 off a service". This is bad business. I had a massage here last week. It was terrible. Too much pressure at times, not enough at others. Massage felt awkward. The massage therapist pressed too firmly on my neck one time and I was sore the next day. Very disappointed. My partner enjoyed his massage (female therapist) so it matters who you get. The facility is really nice. They offer wine or tea or lemon water when you arrive. I might be back but would request a different massage therapist. read more

Have not even yet visited the spa but am going based on rave reviews!! I am going to be in town for the weekend and wanted to make an appointment ahead of time for myself and two family members to have a spa day while running on a tight schedule and difficult to coordinate. Understood that it was just making an appt but customer service was just THAT impressive that I think it's worth calling out as exceptional. Kristen on the phone went above and beyond to make service recommendations, offered several package options that she felt might be great fit our spa requests as well as our budget, and create a personalized package for us that far exceeded my expectations. Moreover, she followed up several times through phone call with additional information to better help offer the best experience for us. They have attempted to scam me out of payments after stopping my membership. Because of travel had to stop membership after three years of being a member in good standing standing. Was put into collection with no direct out reach. No contact after three years! Spoke with the payment contractor ASF. ASF told me to speak directly with management at Matrix. Went to Matrix where they would not let me speak to the manager. Did speak with the new owner. Offered to "split the apple" for a payoff. Not splitting anything. Have been told by current members that upkeep of equipment has been terrible. Xbikes broken and other equipment remain not repaired. Scam! read more
