I was recently searching for the phone number of the Matt Roberts Agency as I needed to discuss some upcoming changes to my policies when I came upon the previous review. I sympathize with the previous reviewer as it seems it's been a rough time and year for her and her family. However, my experience with the Matt Roberts Agency, and Tina in particular, has been quite different so I felt the need to share my experience with them. Several years ago, I made the decision to move my policies from another carrier. During that process, I spoke with both Tina and the owner, Matt Roberts. Based on my conversations with them, I decided to move my home and auto policies to Erie Insurance. Their rates are tough to beet by any of the larger insurance firms within Erie Insurance footprint. Earlier this year, we had hail storms pass through the Charlotte area, and my roof was damaged in the process. Prior to contacting a roofing contractor, I reached out to Tina to discuss the issue and determine next steps. She was very helpful in providing a clear and concise "next steps" timeline. She also provided information on the things I should be looking for in a roofing contractor. Once I decided on a contractor, she assisted with scheduling an appointment with the adjuster and my contractor. With the extensive damage on the roof, the adjuster recommended a new roof be installed. The process was very smooth from end to end, and I'm quite happy with the new roof that was installed. No more leaks! Tina and the agency have always been quick to provide quotes on changes I plan to execute with my policies. I recently dropped a vehicle from my policy as well, and lost the multi car discount provided by Erie Insurance. This isn't unusual and the same thing is done by my previous insurers as well. I think it's important to realize that decision is made by the insurer, not the agency itself. I will add that Tina was quick to answer any questions I had during this process, and was prompt with sending updated quotes for my review. This is the very worst company I have ever worked with in my life. I received an email from Tina who works at the agency saying that she needed to speak to me urgently. I expressed to her that it was a very bad time as my grandfather had just died in the hurricane and my cousin was still missing. She emailed me back and said it would not be bad news we needed to speak so I reluctantly gave her a call. In that conversation she informed me that my drivers license was not renewed on time so my insurance was going to drop me if I did not renew within the next 24 hours. I was dealing with so much at the time And because she stated the call was not of a negative nature I was blindsided by more horrible news. I was able to get my license renewed the same day but her prefacing the call would have been greatly appreciated. My family was recently in a total loss car accident where the car rolled twice with both my 10 month old and four-year-old in the car. My son was in the ICU for 2 days with possible internal bleeding and spinal Injuries. The road to recovery for my family is going to be long both my husband and son have to go through outpatient physical therapy. My husband is going to be out of work for a wild sly called the agency to attempt to lower our insurance premiums now that we only have one vehicle. I received a call from Tina stating that my policy insurance would be $1300 for 1 vehicle when I was only paying 2000 for 2 vehicles full coverage and the vehicle that was told old was the more expensive vehicle ( Mercedes versus Nissan). I was trying to ask her why but she would not let me finish my question she just continued to speak over me to which I replied Tina you are not very personable I am trying to understand the policy. She immediately snapped and said you have threatened my agency you have threatened me and I will no longer do business with you find another company and disconnected the call. She has a very sweet and calm voice however the second you question her or have questions because you don't understand something and ask more than once she becomes abrasive and defensive. I requested when the 1st incident happened to have somebody else handle our Policy and clearly that has not happened. I am left having no clue whether or not I still have home or auto Insurance since she hung up on me And the company will not return my phone calls. I am truly at a loss I don't understand why someone who is seemingly so pleasant would be so agitated Every single time we speak. I would never work with this company again even if their insurance was free. People like Tina do not belong working in customer service. Furthermore if this is the Matt Roberts agency he should be in vested in his customers well being and peace of mind and I still have not received a phone call back despite my numerous messages read more
