Chad Richards is not there for his customers when they truly need him with a claim. I have been a customer of Chad Richards for over a decade. When I needed him the most, he was not there for me. November 7, 2024, my husband and I were in a serious auto accident where we were rear-ended by another State Farm customer. While the other driver was immediately found to be at fault, I have been having to fight with State Farm every step of the way. For the first two months, Chad was not able to spare even 5 minutes to speak with me. Then, when he did start talking with me, he gave me wrong information. So, after 3 months of going nowhere with the claim, Chad's office tells me that I should have filed under my own insurance as they would have more insight as to what was going on with claims, could help more, and I could use the "Appraisal" clause. Three MONTHS after telling me not to file under my own insurance. I open a claim under my insurance, and was able to settle on the total loss of my car for more money than was originally offered, but much less than my car was worth at the time of the accident. Once we settled on the total loss of our car, we went out and purchased another car. Upon picking the car up, I called Chad's office to get the new car insured. They took the information and assured me the new car was covered. Two weeks later, I am looking at my account and notice that my old car is still listed and my new one is not listed. I call and speak with Chad's office and they FORGOT to put the insurance through on the new car. I had been driving around with only the "grace period" coverage on my car. We ended up switching to a new state farm agent and went into their office to set up insurance on the new car and was told it was completed. Several weeks later we found out that the same thing happened and the new car was not put on our policy and we were driving uninsured. This has been a full-time job dealing with State Farm and all the hoops they have made and are continuing to make me jump through. If it was not for my persistence and daily calls, I do not think we would have had any settlement on the car. State Farm will do everything they can to not pay a claim and when do offer a settlement, it will be far less than what is fair. We are now going to have to deal with the medical claims and I expect more problems. Getting an attorney and having them take 1/3 of the offer off the top was not a viable option. The only thing State Farm is good at is collecting their money every month, but what good is insurance if they don't pay out on a claim when something happens? read more

My husband and I are huge fans of State Farm. He has used the company for years and has nothing but praise. We were seeking a new location because we recently moved and so we visited this particular branch. Lee was the only person we communicated with. After speaking with him (or rather, listening to him speak), we decided never to come to this branch again. He was rude from the outset but what pushed it over for me was his blatant disrespect towards me. We were visiting to update my husbands plan and add my new car to it. Lee did not look at me or make eye contact with me the ENTIRE conversation. He spoke only to my husband, referring to me only as "her." The amount of chauvinism was astounding. He made it very clear that my husband was the one he cared to do business with and never addressed me at all. I was beyond insulted. I am the one who had the funds to purchase our new car and am in charge of our family finances. I am responsible and adept with money management. I manage our home and work full time. I am fully equipped to be part of a conversation about insurance policies. But Lee doesn't know this. Lee doesn't know anything about me because he never bothered to ask me a single question. Beyond disgusted. We will never visit this branch again. Of course, all agents and employees are not like this. Aside from this, we have only good things to say about State Farm. I would recommend that next time a man and wife come into your office, you put away your presuppositions and mindset from the 1950's and show equal respect to both parties. read more

***To respond to the comment: Geico lowered my monthly payment by approximately 40% without changing my coverage. I have tried multiple times to find ways to lower my payment, but the fortress around Chad was too strong. It's simply inexcusable that I was never called back regarding this, especially after I told them I am willing to leave. Make sure you ask about short rates when canceling a policy. This hidden feature will suddenly appear despite nobody telling you about this and give you less of a refund than you deserve. These are not the good neighbors that you've been promised. The people that work in this office should see if they can still get roles in Bad Neighbors 2.*** I didn't drive for a few years, and was faced with the super awkward situation of needing to drive again. Geico, surprisingly enough, did not offer me the lowest rate. I shopped around, and State Farm provided me with the best deal at the time. I was grateful, and things were off to a pleasant start. I was slightly disappointed by the fact that their online portal refused to let me register. Still, not a big deal. I have long since left my fast and furious lifestyle behind. I am a good driver, and I probably wouldn't need to contact State Farm. Sure enough, over the past 2.5 or so years, I have not had issues. I didn't need to contact State Farm. So why has my rate only continued to increase over the years? I have a clean record. It should either stay the same or go lower. After each increase, I attempted to call Chad. Chad would never be available to talk to me. His employees would never ask if he can return my call later. This latest rate increase was one increase too far. I called the office, and big surprise, Chad wasn't available to talk to me. Why won't he pick up my calls? :'( I let his employee know that I will either pay State Farm a lower rate or pay somebody else. He shrugged me off as not being serious, and unfortunately, I didn't have the time to follow through with my threat to switch that month. Then, school stopped, and I magically have a little more time. I called Geico again, and 15 minutes saved me a lot more than 15%. State Farm might provide better coverage. My Geico rate could soar after a year. Still, the choice to switch was the right one. Good bye and good riddance. F U too. read more

Our experience could be used in a State Farm commercial. We were treated with respect, kindness and empathy. My father recently passed and my mom and I needed to talk to Chad and his team to sort out her accounts. Needless to say we were very vulnerable at the first meeting. Chad took the time to guide us through all aspects of my mom's policies and accounts. He and his team prepared for our meeting and had everything in a written agenda. You hear horror stories about people being taken advantage of in these situations. Chad and his team proved that they are trustworthy. They never once tried to sell us anything we didn't need. Instead, they clearly explained everything and followed up in writing. A long time ago I held a license to sell securities, so I understood everything they were saying, but they went far beyond my expectations. It was very important that my mom understood everything. They made sure to explain all of it in a way that was clear to her. My number one priority is to help my mom through this. It was clear that Chad and his team had the same goal. He and his team are well versed in the intricacies of insurance, mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529 plans, and trusts and how they all need to be handled in just the right way especially when dealing with an estate. We met again today to sign the documents to move everything solely to my mom. Chad and Patty made us feel like family. They took a very overwhelming process and broke it down into understandable pieces for us. Chad and his team have worked very hard to keep the promises we were sold a long time ago. The biggest problem is the lack of professionalism this office has. You could ask a simple question and they would give you an extremely long roundabout type of answer that didn't even answer your question and then you are more confused than you were before you asked the question. I ask detail specific questions every single time I call. They lose their tact, and then get mad and hang up on me...EVERY SINGLE TIME I speak to a woman named Anna, she gets mad and then speaks to me in a condescending tone and then hangs up on me..she needs classes in tact, professionalism and knowledge of the insurance she is supposed to be representing. Most of the office is unfortunately the same way. A simple question can get referred to corporate, and then might take weeks for a return answer. State Farm is horrible insurance carrier. There are loopholes they never tell you about until you are in trouble with your vehicle. Then all of a sudden you aren't covered when you thought your insurance meant one thing and then they say it means something completely different. Absolute disgusted. read more
