The house portion is well preserved. There's a tiny museum inside an old barn before you walk to the historic home. It's briefly mentioned inside the museum, but people were once enslaved on the plantation to pick tobacco leaves. It's a tragic fact to know as you enter the space. It helps explain why systemic racism still exists in this country and why visiting sites like these should push us to fight for justice for all.

It was a relatively easy process to rent, and once we got out there, it was beautiful! My favorite time to go out on the water is during the summer, because the trees are full and fluffy. We'd definitely do this again, and with a larger group so we can all enjoy being outside!

The two of them make a great team. It's obvious from their introduction that they love sharing their passion of sailing with others. Before we even got to the dock I was in contact with Josh on the phone and email. He responded quickly and was happy to offer some amenities. Josh offered me a few pick up locations and offered to drop us at our hotel marina. Once on the boat we covered a quick but thorough safety brief. We toured the river before entering the bay. Carmelita and Josh made suggestions for restaurants and other activities on Solomons and pointed them out as we passed them. Our tour took us around Solomons Island and under the bridge at sunset. Carmelita took pictures of us the whole time and shared them with us after the tour. It was great talking with them about how they got into sailing and how they learned their craft. The boat was clean and appeared to be sound. On the way back lighting storms were surrounding us. The light show was really cool to watch. The storm was about 30 miles so there was no danger and we felt safe the Josh and Carmelita were keeping an eye on the weather. I would definitely recommend their tour or charter service. Food Lion and more aren't far away, a bring your own frisbee if you want to skip the store markup.

They do all kinds of installations here for those like me who aren't super handy. Jay also made the process of purchasing the trailer pain free. All the titling and registration paperwork was done there, no trips to DMV! They have a great selection of Hobie accessories along with other types of kayaks and small boats. Cool store located in an industrial complex. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly here. I recommend this place for all your boating needs and especially for anyone looking to have Hobie kayaks serviced or accessorized.
