My boyfriend and I wanted to do something nice outdoors, and we thought of trying to canoe or kayak somewhere. I looked up on Yelp, and this came up. We were sold on the good deal to do any water activities in a one or two hour timeframe. We decided to do tandem kayaking. the $13 for an hour came with a life vest, paddle, and the kayak. It was a relatively easy process to rent, and once we got out there, it was beautiful! My favorite time to go out on the water is during the summer, because the trees are full and fluffy. We'd definitely do this again, and with a larger group so we can all enjoy being outside! read more

This just in.... literally just got in after a hour long kayaking on the water at Lake Ridge Park. Awesome staff, great location tucked away, not to far from shopping centers to grab a bite afterwards. First time kayaking- I can't swim but once I got over the fear it was so peaceful. It was eerily quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Old Bridge Road. Can't wait for my next venture. I may try the standing boards. We paid $12.00 for a one hour rental. They surprisingly opened at 6am in Sunday's in the summer. It wasn't crowded but just enough people were you feel safe but you can still enjoy solitudes. Can't wait to go back! read more

We reserved the Cedar Tent Pavilion for an end of season party. The grassy area near it provided a place for kids and pets. The tables were sturdy and looked nice covered in table cloths. The tent provided some shade and the weather was lovely. Will definitely reserve it again next year. We had about 55 people and there was ample space. read more

This park is just Ok. If you've been to other northern Virginia lake parks this one doesn't hold up to it. There isn't much lakeside area, just some docks and a big parking lot. Multiple crazy people were there at lunch time. One lady screaming at the seagulls, another man screaming at his dog. Oh and the people making out behind a building. If you have a boat, this park becomes much better. They have a horrible mini golf course, a playground and a golf course. I'm assuming the golf part has its own review spot. There are also some picnic areas. They have a 1 mile trail...not much of a trail. If you live very close, you might enjoy a stroll by the water. If not, or if you have a car, then go to Burke Lake or Fountainhead or Lake Fairfax or one of the wayyyyy better Fairfax County Parks. read more

Tucked away off Smoketown Road, this is a great little park for cookouts, birthday parties, or just hiking the short trails. Entrance is free, but there's a fee to reserve a picnic area with a tent. Each picnic area has a charcoal grill setup, but ours had no running water or electricity. Plan ahead! There is plenty of parking and a little playground, so if you're in the area, check it out! read more

I've spent a lot of time in this park, mostly at the playground as a child, and more recently visiting the marina. The boat-rental experience is pretty good--affordable and fun! The staff is really nice, even sending a rescue boat out to get you if fishing line gets snagged on your propeller and the wind blows you to the other side of the lake. :p I love that you can bring a dog along with you on certain boats (weight limits apply, and vary depending on type of vessel). read more

This park is a hidden gem in The Lake ridge community. The park has golfing, mini golf, playgrounds and trails. The main attraction though is the Occoquan river where the road in to the park ends. During the warmer months it is filled with crew kids who are out rowing on the water generally from 3 to 6. The same area offers great trails along the water with some amazing views. There is also a boat house where you can rent boats to go out on the water. This park is a great place to take your kids, friends or even the dog to enjoy the outdoors. This park is the secret of lake Ridge. We go there on random afternoons and weekends. Try renting the little boats out there and see how much fun you can have. It's great for families as well. I can't wait until June when the boat rentals are open during the weekdays, I'm assuming they wait until school is out. We fish down here too, not that much fish but it's fun doing it. Well, if you've ever had a hankering for a local canoe ride, this your spot. You can rent for by the hour or more and explore the Occoquan reservoir. If you need to get around more quickly you can also rent a jon boat (with or without an electric trolling motor) for an afternoon of fishing. They have a boat launch but sorry all motors must be less than 10 hp. If your feeling adventurous you might try the peddle boats, but one word of caution.... its not as easy as expected. The cranks on the pedals are very short which means a lot of revolutions to get anywhere. Happy Trails read more

The staff was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL. Waited for over 1 HR because the staff failed to notify us when the kayaks were ready. They stated that because the manager found other customers first (who clearly can AFTER us) they could go first. Very upset and recommend you to go to any other marina but this one. read more

Nice trails to walk through the woods, playground for the kids, mini golf, boat rentals, tables and grills for picnicing, all in all a perfect little neighborhood park. Evenings in the spring can get really busy with all of the traffic from the crew teams, but generally it is pretty quite place to go relax. read more

Very cool lake to rent cool toys. Be careful of the trail, we spotted a black snake. Just wear good shoes and stay on the trail. Do not explore. read more
