He had seen several physical therapists and doctors before Sara, and she was the first one to figure out the source of the problem (different leg lengths). I had previously seen a different PT for this issue, and they were able to help with the acute pain enough for me to get back to my workouts, but never diagnosed an underlying issue. As a result, the pain, though mild, was frequently recurring and was just something I learned to live with. I had weekly sessions with Haley that were first focused on diagnosing the issue I had, and from there on functional movement re-training and strength. She worked with my programmers at Achieve to ensure they were kept up to speed on my progress and needs, and they worked together to put exercises into my program. I felt better almost immediately after starting with Haley and have made great strides since stopping our treatment to get stronger. What I love most about working with Haley is that she is an athletic trainer, as well, and so her focus is squarely on getting you back to whichever activities you want to do. There's never any sense of "you can't" or "you shouldn't" do x, y, z, it's always "here are the things you can do to make x, y, z manageable". I always felt supported in all of my goals and she never told me no. On top if it all, Haley has a positive and supportive attitude and is great to work with. I came to Dr. Shea with a nerve-related injury after struggling to self-diagnose and work effectively with a local PT. I'm a powerlifter and was experiencing a strange numbness that would only present itself under heavy loads and at key points in movements. I decided to visit a Chiropractor by recommendation of a PT friend (not the person treating me). I chose this particular practice because I felt that at a self-owned practice, the practitioner is highly encouraged to provide the utmost attention to detail -- and I was right. Unlike other visible injuries, we're constrained by what I choose to convey as a patient and Dr. Shea's ability to 'feel' out potential problem areas. I'm beyond grateful of our ability to hypothesize together, test, and focus in on the root cause. Over multiple sessions with her, I was able to get to a place where I was comfortable under light load. Taking my responsibility to test movements and collect information allowed us to hone in on where the true underlying cause existed. Since seeing Alexa, these incidents have become infrequent and overall my body feels much more in harmony. Recently I had a little girl, and at her 6mo appointment her pediatrician noticed she had slight right head tilt/torticullis. Since then Sarah has been coming to my home weekly and providing extraordinary physical therapy along with an array of terrible bad jokes she's known since grade school. The combination is amazing. For this review, I'll focus on the physical therapy. Sarah is knowledgeable about an amazing array of treatment options for the problems I have had with my shoulders, wrists, knees and legs. After an comprehensive evaluation she has addressed the multiple difficulties I've been facing in a professional, compassionate fashion. There have been one or two surprises over the last year which she has handled expertly and width obvious knowledge and training. Sarah has been coming to my home on a weekly basis. This has helped me in Normas Lee as the absence of travel time has allowed me to focus on the therapy. She selects our next appointment only after consulting me about it's a convenience. He knew exactly where to target the massage but it was the exercises that he slowly worked me into that did the trick! Loved the massage, but the long-term relief from doing daily (sort of yoga style) exercises was wonderful. My lower back pain was intense and had been going on for 3 months, with medication! After just a few sessions and learning new stretches, my back pain is gone!
