Attended my first auction, with this auctioneer. I drove an hour and fifteen minutes to attend this…read moreauction in Western St. charles. My main reason for going was to purchase the two vintage Schwinn bicycles. They were advertised, with multiple pictures, on the auctioneer's web site. I arrived early to review the items. Things went downhill soon after my arrival. I registered and went to look for the bicycles. I was then told that the better of the two was pulled from the auction. I was disappointed, but held out hope for the other one. About an hour and a half later i looked over to where the other bike was sitting and noticed it was gone. I asked about the second bicycle and learned that it too was pulled during the auction. I am now livid over the way things were going. I also learned, from other frustrated customers, that other items were pulled, without any notice. Some other issues include the fact that the auctioneer stated that there would be two auction rings. That never happened, which resulted in a very long painstaking auction process. The positives for this auctioneer include adequate staffing and relatively low commission percentage. I promise to upgrade my review, should my next experience be a positive one. However, i must give this auctioneer a big thumbs down for nw.

I am responding to the comment about the items that were pulled from the auction at st. Charles…read more There were 4 items pulled. 2 bikes which when the customer came up to me and asked where they were at I said right there. He said no they aren't. They were there 45 min ago. , I stopped the auction I was conducting and called everyone that was available including gate security which said yes Casey rolled them out. So I called the owner of the farm. In front of the entire auction attendees the owner admitted he had given them to his sister who they belonged to as a child. He apologised and I told him infront of all the customers he cannot be pulling items on auction day. It is unethical and wrong as well as there is a contract in place. The 2 other items that were pulled were pulled before the auction started and had an attorneyetter attached to the request for the item to be pulled. One item was a furnace and a John Deere mower that were to remain on the property as part of the sale of the property. So please please understand that auctioneer did not do anything unethical or wrong. The seller did. And as always all auction announcements made auction day take precedence over any other prior info. At the start of that auction I stated the I'd mower and furnace were pulled. All auctions are recorded for our protection.

McGinty Auction House is run by a young woman named Justine and her family. It is a small, locally…read moreowned business in the Clinton area- and one that I'm always happy to support. You can tell the small group of employees are a tight-knit group that really do always try to put their best foot forward. I've looked through the items this auction house offers multiple times and I'm always really impressed with their array. They have everything from furniture to home décor to tools to lawn equipment to gardening supplies to toys and games and collectables. Literally everything. Whether you love antiques, resell items, or want something new for your home at a ridiculously affordable price; this is the place to get it. They hold auctions weekly and are always very professional in the way they handle everything. Everything is clearly and neatly displayed and pictures are even posted on their Facebook group so you can get an idea of everything they are offering and decide if there are items you'd like to bid on up for grabs. Most auction houses now-a-days are still a bit 'old school' so I REALLY appreciate the fact that they advertise a lot of their items online so I can get a fair idea of what they are offering before I make the trip to Clinton. I haven't seen any other auction house that also posts great high-quality photos of their items online. I've discussed with Justine about her selling my items, and she's been very honest with me about the way she does business and has offered me her services in a fair manner. Compared to other auction houses I've spoken with, McGinty Auctions definitely has the friendliest reps and they're always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring all of my questions are answered, and my concerns are addressed. Every time I call they pick up their phone and they're more than happy to talk me through everything. Whether you're looking to sell a lot of your old things, or you want to bid on some new things- this auction house is by far the best in the Illinois / Iowa area. I've been to a few different auction houses and this one always stands out as the one that offers the best service, the most diverse array of items, and the best prices. They have A LOT of furniture that can be upcycled for a profit- and also a ton of great items to sell on eBay. Totally worth visiting when you have some spare change to spend. There's always a treasure to be found here!

Reschedule was necessary due to life-threatening weather conditions. Not a single walkway, drive or entry had been plowed on the new pick up day. Seemed very unprofessionals and ill-equipped to be offering internet auction options. Item descriptions were not accurate, many items were damaged and unusable without disclosure. images did not match titles.& more

Let me tell you David is the man. He can sell anything. He could sell ice to the eskimos. A few…read moreyears ago my parents had a surplus of house hold items to get rid of. They had a set of china with an outdated pattern and some of the pieces had dings, chips or cracks. David was able to get a good price for it even considering what they took for commission. If possible it is best if you can bring any items to him to sell. He will come to you see what you have and assess what you have for no charge; however, if you make arrangements for his people to take your items a reasonable fee will be charged. How it works is David holds auctions on a regular basis and whatever you are selling will be sold at one of these actions. I can't remember if he has them once a month, every other month, or quarterly. So find out when the next action will be and make arrangements to have your selections there. Good Luck!

I have been to many auction houses throughout Chicago…read moreand the suburbs and I have to say that Pace Auctioneers will not be getting my business at all. Went to an auction this week. Now what they had for auction was really worth going. A lot of really great and unusual items. This is where my praise ends. As I have mentioned I have been to other auction houses around Chicago and a lot of the problems I have seen at those auctions were present here. There was shill bidding going on and I am not the only person who saw it. Plus the prices that some of these items sold for were totally out of the question. What really turned me off was the way the auctioneer handled a particular situation that night with a buyer who had an issue. Instead of taking the time to address it in a professional manner he started to scream and yell into the microphone. Totally unprofessional and a major turn off. There are better auction houses out there where there is no bs and where honest auctions occur. Pass this place.
