Having had a horrid post-op pain experience at UVA, I truly sympathize. But I also wanted readers here to know CPM is NOT UVA!!! I highly recommend CPM & Dr Messinger... but not so much UVA.

But to date, my impression is that they care more about money (try every time to charge me a copay that I don't have to pay because I reached my annual out-of-pocket) - and most specifically about their malpractice insurance - than the well-being of their patients. I suffer 3-9 level pain every day 9 brings tears). I am forced to wait a month for the ablation. And they refuse to prescribe medication that can actually help alleviate the nerve pain for that short amount of time. I have had one of their procedures. Have another on 1/17/23 and the ablation on 1/30/23. More to follow. Just be wary and look out for yourself if you decide to use this practice.

My evaluation was ok, day 2 was ok. My biggest issue at this point was that one specific thing I wanted was to have appointments later in the day after work, which I had said in the very beginning. The next week I got a voicemail saying that my next appointment needed to he rescheduled. I called and they said my therapist was not available. I asked if she was available for the following appointment and was told she didn't work there any longer. The options I had for therapy during the times I needed were now once a week at best. I've canceled my appointments and will be getting therapy elsewhere.

I learned more from the first meeting than I did from all the many visits I had with other GYNs. He did my hysterectomy, Stage 3 endometriosis excision surgery with rectal nodule resection, endometrioma removal with ovary, and repair of umbilical hernia. I suffered for 15+ years with endometriosis that caused painful intercourse, painful bowel movements, stomach issues/bloating, heavy/painful periods and extreme fatigue from low iron levels that needed iron infusions. I highly recommend Dr. Barron for your gynecology issues and especially endometriosis. He really is the "endometriosis" expert and you don't just want a "regular" gynecologist operating on you! I am so glad I met with him because he gave me my life back and he can do the same for you! It doesn't even feel like I had endometriosis and it's been 6 months or even cycle pain! The front office, surgery coordinator (got me in quick to save me a ton of money since I had almost met my deductible) and medical assistants are very pleasant to interact with!

i saw Matt for physical therapy for CRPS snd he showed me very little respect, empathy or…read morecompassion. He hooked me up to a negative contrast machine and I told him it was hurting as tears streamed down my face. He cracked joke with another patient across the room "Darlene thinks she's in Matt's pain clinic". I didn't find it humorous at all. He acted like I just didn't want to exercise, but I was in an extreme amount of pain for which he had no compassion. He left that machine on my foot that felt like it was burning my skin off He stated it was on the lowest temperature snd seemed exasperated with me. The assistant showed more compassion than he did, but she had to do what he said. She apologized on his behalf. He refused to take it off. Prior to my few visits with Matt I had the cold version of CRPS. My foot was always ice cold and often blue or purple. After him using this machine for 25 minutes it always on fire. My surgeon said Matt was too aggressive with the machine with my nerve injury snd my nerve will now likely stay this way. Matt, you harmed me and you treated me poorly while you did it. I was kind to you. You were stressed because your children were in the were out of school with you at work, and I was trying to help you entertain them while you helped patients. I don't know why you felt you had the right to treat me the way you did. It was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I'm so angry at you for what you've done to my foot. It's in even more intense pain than before I saw you. You need to learn to listen to your patients. You told me I needed to do what you said or my ankle was going to be stuck like that when I was in intense pain. You said it to embarrass me if front of other people. That is not helping the situation. I didn't need you to act that way. You even said "'m not here to be your friend". Firstly, I didn't ask you to be and secondly that doesn't sound like someone who wants to help me. I've waited a long time before writing this review. I decided to go ahead with it, because you damaged my foot for life. i was recovering from a nerve wrap surgery and you chose to heat it up and now it's good and mad. Before coming to you I was making some progress at least able to walk some, but once this foot got put into a fire its changed everything. I'm really disabled now. I'm having to get a spine stimulator. I just want you to think next time. Be nicer and less cruel and judgmental. You have no ideal what I had been suffering with and I doubt you could have even handled it if your kids being if the office were stressing you out. I heard such good things about you, but you did not live up to them. Your knowledge about CRPS was not on point either.
