I am a frequent customer to this store. They have moved to a much larger location next to the New River Valley Mall, and the store has finally been given the staff numbers that it's needed for years. Like all chain stores, customers need to keep in mind that staffing, and availability of products, etc., are all at the mercy of the ever present, and endlessly disappointing "Corporate" offices. This store has a manager, and an assistant manager that work tirelessly and thanklessly to keep the store in a clean and well organized condition as best they can. Because they are paid salary, sometimes coming into the store and working without being paid because "Corporate" will not allow them anymore employees on the payroll. That alone speaks to the dedication these ladies put into a company that would without hesitation replace them with a blink because they are only names and store numbers on a piece of paper. With Hobby Lobby coming into the area, JAF Corporate must have decided it was finally time to move these well-deserving ladies into a bigger, better building and offer more products to compete. Because money talks, BS walks. So, thank you, Hobby Lobby, for the competition and the kick in the pants this company needed to better itself and be better for their customers. Otherwise, JAF Corporate would have allowed this store to waste and rot away in a dilapidated plaza that has been next to nearly empty for over a decade. Customers who come into ANY business need to keep in mind that it isn't easy working with the general public. Our current state of society has become irritatingly "instant gratification", and most these days walk around with a scumbag sense of entitlement that is grossly misplaced nor earned. Employees are bound by the rules Corporate lays down, and while you may be inconvenienced for a moment, employees will not take the chance of losing their jobs so that you can believe you've had a good day. Just be patient and realize that not everything is always about you. Take any and all online reviews of businesses with a grain of salt, and a side of reality. You can't make everyone happy, and most times, it won't matter how hard you try. For you employees that have to deal with the general public, keep in mind that there are some of us that have also had to deal with the GP, and we understand your plight, your patience, your work ethic, and your dedication to the company you're employed by - because the company won't care, but a certain faction of your customers do.

Absolutely phenomenal customer service, and the store was spotless and easy to navigate, as opposed to michael's. They actually honor their online sales which is such a breath of fresh air after being in michael's where they tried to charge us twice the price in store vs online. This store is opened year round and carries Christmas and seasonal decorations, gifts, and products for holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, St Patrick's Day, and Forth of July. When I visited the store, the owner manager greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile, explaining where the different one of a kind items were. They had a great variety of Christmas items from blown German ornaments, to gnomes, nativities, Santas, Christmas trees, Snoopy ornaments, candles, Jim Shore Grinch, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and Willow Tree figurines. But besides this wide range of unique Christmas items that you won't find anywhere else, and can help make any Christmas season merry and bright, they also carry seasonal decoration items that one could purchase to give as gifts or to buy for oneself. For example during Thanksgiving they might have turkeys, pilgrims, cornucopia horn of plenty, and other decoration items relative to this Holiday Season. Then as soon as this holiday passes by, the remaing items are put aside on sale. I visited the Christiansburg, VA Old Navy store on November 22, 2022. I had a few online items…read morethat I needed to return. I came in around 10:00 am. The store was not busy as it was a Tuesday and the store had just opened for the day. Honestly, I chatted online with Old Navy customer service about their return policy. The rep I chatted with was not helpful and that is why I decided to try and get further help from someone in person. A few of my items were several months past the return date. Some of the items were a few weeks old. A few I had just received a few days prior. So I needed to see if I could get any money back, a store credit, or do I need to try and sell the goods to consignment. When I walked in there was a young lady (in a pink sweatshirt and black leggings with shoulder length hair) that was restocking the goodies around the registers. (I'm truly sorry I did not catch her name because she was very nice.) She was able to complete the returns for a couple of my purchases back to my original payment method. For the older things I needed to return, she said something along the lines of, 'Sorry I am unable to return these.' I asked, 'would I be able to get a store credit on any of them?' And with lightning speed she said, "I'll have to get a manager to do that." She then calls for the manager, Amanda. Amanda was super charismatic! I explained that I discussed all my returns with Customer Service and they were not helpful. Amanda empathized with my situation stating that she also has gotten stuck with items she was unable to return because the return window had already expired. She then went the extra mile and returned most of my remaining items back to the original payment. Considering this was just a few days before the holiday season would be in full swing, I needed every penny they were able to return. The kindness and wonderful customer service that these ladies showed me that day deserves a stellar review. After my chat with customer service I was about to give up on ever buying ANYTHING from Old Navy or their affiliates ever again. Now, I am so happy I decided to go into the store because I will gladly shop there again and recommend this store to friends and family. Thank you.
