I had purchased my Kia Carnival from Planet Kia and they were wonderful. One of the very few dealerships that didn't add at least $10,000 to the MSRP. However, they are more than an hour drive to bring it back for maintenance, so when I got a recall notice for seat brackets, I took it to a dealership that was only 15 minutes away. Big mistake because when there was a second recall I decided to return to Planet Kia. They were great and shuttled me to a nearby mall, and when I was returned, he brought me to my car and pointed out that whoever did the recall repair messed it up royally. They did not feel comfortable sending me home with a damaged seat track, so gave me a rental and are ordering new parts to replace what the other dealership had damaged. I will never bring my car to anyone else. The hour drive is worth the fabulous and ethical service planet Kia provides. read more

Three hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Car sat for for over an hour all finished, paperwork was the apparent hold up. Got the paper work, no tire rotation done. Swollen lug nuts made it so no tire rotation could be done. Given a price at the end of the service. Now have to get the lugs and tire rotation done a different day. Use the shuttle if plan on getting work on your car done or drop it off the day before. read more

They sent me on a 100 mile drive on a car with lug nuts that were not properly tightened, causing a wheel stud to shear. After promising to fix all damage associated with this and make the car safe again they chose to only replace the single sheared stud, and not the other studs as well that underwent significant shearing force when the first stud sheared. These studs cost between $3-$7 each and given their unwillingness to do the right thing, and the original egregious mistake of not tightening the lugs on my tire, I simply can't recommend anyone being their vehicle to be serviced in such an unsafe, negligent, uncaring shop. read more

They are 100% proud of there 1 star review and are doing everything in their power to keep it that way. I'm a younger woman and they never take me seriously. I told them exactly what was wrong with my car and they still acted like I was stupid and kept calling me "sweetie" and "hun". I had my tires changed on June 6th and not even two weeks later I had two broken seals and a bad valve...after waiting almost two hours, they had told me what was going on, which was exactly what I said when I came in. Then they told me it would be $150. This is how he explained it to me: "So two tires have a bad seal and you know that thing where you put air in? That's bad too". Sir, I'm not an idiot. Why would I have to pay for something they should've fixed two weeks ago? That I paid almost $300 to change my winter to summer tires that I already had? How are they JUST figuring out that 3 of my tires need to be fixed?!? They told me to get a ride home since the repair might take awhile. They have my number and email on file. So I'm waiting, waiting...I get a call from my dad while he's at work saying they're calling him. Excuse me, I was the one who was getting a repair, Why are you calling him? He calls them back and addresses that to Dustin, and also asks why we are being charged for something they should've seen the first time. Dustin said to "talk to his manager". Manager comes on the phone, asks if we are "accusing them of damaging my car." My dad said "I'm stopping the conversation right here, you lost business from 3 different clients". I get to the dealership and don't even bother asking why they called my dad. The guy checking me out says how disorganized he is, which is not a surprise. While he walks me to the cashier, I asked what their procedure is for changing tires. Somehow he didn't understand what I meant, so I asked if they do an inspection. He asks a mechanic and he says yes and starts rattling off what they did. I said okay, then why am I having this problem today if you inspected in on June 6th which was about 2 or so weeks ago? No answer. Clearly they didn't care, made accusations at us, and still had to pay the bill of something they clearly didn't do the first time. You bet I have multiple other stories about them. And shame on my family for continuously coming back in the past. They lied about Barry leaving, they would never call us when our car service was done and finally after hours of us waiting we'd call and every single time would say "oh we were just about to call you". They've gotten our cars mixed up and would insist that my sisters Kia somehow had the exact same problem as my moms Kia (this took hours for them to realize they were talking about the wrong car), they told my sister there was something wrong with her car and would take thousands of dollars to fix and she might as well get a new one (she took it somewhere else and that was not the case. She got it fixed for $100). Finally after such horrible treatment and service, we are never,ever stepping foot here again. Please save yourself time, money, and sanity. Go anywhere else. read more

I installed a remote starter in my car and they charged my wife a ridiculous amount of money to pop one piece of the trim back in that wouldn't fit back in properly. I didn't have the tools to do it myself so I figured I would make an appointment and it would be a small charge to have it clipped back in. Over $100 later... Ridiculous. read more

so when was the last time you went to a dealership and they told you to come inside after you asked if he could get the keys so you could look at a car on the lot? We said well we would rather see the car before we come inside . just want to see the dash light up and test a few nice things we seen on the brand new car we seriously wanted. he said you have to come inside thats our policy. we asked why? he said thats how we do things here. every dealler we went to today and yesterday!!!!! were excited to show us the cars inside and out before going inside to have our history of mathew kia taught to us. Mean while my husband drives a brand new paid off kia! we said we dont want to test drive it just here it run and see the dashboard and lights and features. he still said well come inside and we can talk. idiot! same dealership who couldnt figure out why my husbands lights were always coming on on his dash on his brandnew kia k-5. so the mechanic said i dont know what to tell you except drive it till it bllows up!!!! I kid you not! I had my car in for inspection,oil change and rotation of tires. I was told everything was fine except i will need new tires before winter. Inspection 7/19 with 19,724 miles. I just got new tires put on at my tire dealer and he told me my front brakes were SHOT! He showed me the back brakes (like new) and the front. Yep..shot. It is Nov. and i have 20,799 on my car. 1,000 miles and they are shot??? Tire dealer said "shouldn't be." Thank God it didn't cut into my rotors. So be aware when you have things done at a dealership. I usually don't except for the special price for rotation, oil and overall inspection. Not anymore. They also wanted to sell me a great tire brand but i wanted to put the Kuhmos back on since i liked the ride. They told me the Khumos were much more expensive??? The other tires were $120 a piece. The Khumos i got for $80. Hmmm. The place was great when it was Electric City Kia. Adios Planet Kia. read more

Received a gift card from Matthews auto after I had complained about waiting two hours for a basic oil change. Having this gift card I figured why not give them another try and get an oil change again. I arrived at the old location and realized they moved to the Blakely area so I called and told them what had happened and was instructed to go to the Blakely location for my appointment. I make the 25 minute drive over expecting to be in and out quick as they knew I was coming. I showed up and stood at the front desk for about ten minutes. No one greeted or said anything to me so I went up to one of the workers and asked how long an oil change would be. She instructed me that I was in the wrong section. (Thanks for mentioning it I've been standing here) By this time it is now 4:10. I am now waiting in a new line at the service desk. After about another 20 minutes it is my turn. I tell her about what happened she informs me that in order for them to get me in I would be waiting until after 6 which is completely ridiculous (another 2 hour oil change.) I ask if there's any way to just get cash for the gift card as I am now fed up with this place, but they had no knowledge of it. The manager had to call his boss to find out what they were. I will never return to this place again. Avoid at all cost. I wasted about an hour there for nothing in addition I wasted money on gas and now I need to wait until tomorrow to get an oil change elsewhere. My recommendation: Hire competent employees starting with management. A complete mess. read more

The cars sold at this dealership are used trades from their main dealership in western New York, Matthews family dealerships. When you transfer car from New York to Pennsylvania, they worth a lot less. Don't believe it, ask for Carfax and see where the cars came from. Or do yourself a favor, look under these cars, they are newer cars with tons of rust. I went to look at a 2015 F150 with around 30k miles. I bought my Sorento at Planet Kia 3 years ago and up until yesterday I was very satisfied with the service I received. I have gone back for all of my oil changes and regular maintenance work that it needed. Of course they would call every time and say it needed something else totally not there for, I would decline the extra work. I thought just them trying to get extra. Until yesterday I was satisfied with them. I needed new tires put on and they were the best price. I had them put them on 2 weeks ago. I do not drive on the highway often as I work mostly from home. A week after they put the tires on, I had to go into work and doing 60 miles I noticed a shimmy in the front. I called and received an appointment a week later, when I called they said "a weight must have fallen off". I go and pick it up and they said I had a bent rim (mind you no shimmy before I had the tires put on), and I owed them $48.00 for the balance of the tires. After about 20 minutes of back and forth with the Service Manger and a technician telling me he couldn't believe that I put 700 miles on my vehicle in 2 weeks. Anyone with children and elderly parents you put A LOT of miles on your vehicle. We ended up paying the money, however told them that they lost a customer over $48. The service manager could care less that she was losing a customer. We would have bought another vehicle from them, but not now. They obviously did not balance them correctly when they balanced them the 1st time they supposedly did it. Also, we had studded snows on that we wanted back, they charged us a tire removal fee, which I had them take off the bill. read more

This has to do with their service department. On June 17 I took my 2014 Sorento in for a PA inspection and to determine where a noise in the Steering was coming from. They determined the Steering gear had to be replaced and were to order a new one. While inspecting the vehicle a "weeping" oil pan gasket was noted. Another appointment was scheduled after the gear was received. The replacement gear arrived on July 10. Another 30 mile one way trip to have the gear and oil pan gasket replaced. I arrived at 8 AM with the intent of returning that afternoon because they needed hours for the gasket adhesive to set. I called at 4:30 and the vehicle had not yet been worked on. After some prodding, they agreed to have a technician stay and install the gasket. I also asked to have the passenger side headlight replaced since it had burned out. This cost $16 to install and $19.17 for a Long life bulb. The following day, after looking in my garage, I found an oil drip on the floor. I returned to the dealer( again 30 miles) to have them replace the oil plug gasket. On Nov 5 I took the vehicle in because the steering wheel was not on center when driving straight. The Drivers headlight had also burned out. They replaced this bulb for a labor charge of $16 but a bulb charge for a Standard life bulb of $29.95. Going on-line I found two different KIA dealers that had either bulb for slightly over $13. I noticed the Service light was ON indicating an oil change was due. Since it was about 3000 miles I thought that was "normal". It is not, 5000-6000 miles is the interval. On top of that the oil had to have been replaced when the oil pan was removed to replace the gasket. At that time it would have been prudent to change the filter and reset the service counter. The oil had to be changed again when the oil drain plug gasket was replaced. Neither time did they reset the service counter. The Oil change service includes a tire rotation, I just checked the lug nut torque on three of the tires with a calibrated Torque Wrench and it was between 100 and 110 Ft-Lbs. The vehicle specification is 65-79 Ft-Lbs. If I had to replace a tire due to a flat, I would be hard pressed to be able to remove any one of the lug nuts with the included lug wrench. If service is required on your vehicle, make sure you get an estimate before they do any work to determine if you think it is required. Also consider what is part of the 10 year 100,000 mile warrantee before you give them any money. read more

Car my fiance and myself bought there last year had oil pressure problem. Had our mechanic do oil change, did not fix problem. Had it towed to kia planet preowned. Next day after calling several times was told by service manager it was oil pressure switch($34 part) not covered under warrenty(when bought vehicle was told only way to get financed was to take a bunch of warrenties($4,500 worth). It would cost $550 to fix. Advised next day by dealership that since I refused repair I could pick it up and it was safe to drive home it's only a small leak. When my fiance got home with the car the back window was covered with oil and when I checked the dipstick it was EMPTY!!!!!!! After calling and letting them know was told they would pay for the tow but it was still $550. Only had this car 1 year and second problem iv'e had with this place. Do not go hear. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!!!!! asked to test drive an suv with my family of 4 and was told to come sit down to fill out paperwork.... thinking it would be about my drivers license, name etc. however the Salesman asked me 100 questions like lease or buy, payments per month, where I live etc. after telling him "all I want to do is test drive a car". he proceeded to probe with more questions. I asked about the options and models of the car I was looking at and he couldn't even give me a straight answer. Absolutely the worst sales experience I've ever had. My Kia Sorento broke down while I was moving across the country. I had it towed here, where I was told they would be able to replace the engine (Kia recall strikes again). When I got there, it was apparent that this wouldn't be taken care of a quickly as I needed it (somewhat understandable), so I asked if I could look into a new car instead. Long story short, they told me I'd need to put $2000 down and then changed it to $3600 (even though I have great credit, payment history, and was basically stranded while the middle of moving with two cats across the country). I went ahead and maxed out my card just to get something to drive. This was late July. It is now late September, and I still do not have the registration for this car, and therefore can't get my new license and plates in my new state. I've called and emailed, and today was told that this was my fault. Yeah, no. Worst, rudest, most incompetent people I've ever dealt with - do NOT do business with them. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE-THEY WANT YOUR INFORMATION TO SELL FIRST‼ I knew the vehicles I wanted to see but he said not all are on this lot. He sat me down and took 15 minutes telling me how they work differently etc. Then he had me sign a privacy statement--WHY? I just want to check out the vehicles I am interested in!! Then he asked why I wanted what I wanted. I said because that is what I need. He asked why "I NEED TO KNOW SO I CAN FIND THE BEST VEHICLE FOR YOU. LIKE DO YOU HAVE 4 KIDS, ETC....." Are you challenging my truth of what I want and need I said I just want to check out the vehicles that I chose, do you want to show them to me? He told me to have a good day and I walked out. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE OR SUPPORT THEM‼ Yes they are different but not better. I then drove to Wilkes Barre where I had a terrific experience and I tipped the salesman for his consideration without interrogation or doubting that I wanted what I wanted. read more

May of 2017 had 2013 Soul in for Pa inspection, service manager says I need rear pads and rotors.Asked if he could work a better price on them, comes back about an hour later and says car is almost ready. Never gave an ok for the work to be done. I let it slide. Paid for work and left with car. Returned May of 2018 for Pa inspection. car passed, service manager told me to watch front breaks as they were getting close to the point of needing to be replaced. Sept 2018 took car to a long established tire and repair center to get brakes checked. Service manager there takes me in the service area and shows me back brakes says that they were the original brakes and were never changed! Took rear pads and rotors back to Planet Kia and asked service manager how could new pads and rotors be shot in 12,000 miles? He said he would see if he could get me a refund from the manufacturer. Almost three months and no response. Only went to Planet Kia because it was closer than Kia dealer where I bought the car. NEVER AGAIN! read more
