For those of you who don't know, this place buys out hotels' furniture when they close or more commonly update and they get the furniture at extremely discounted rate to which they pass along the savings to their customers. I purchased a king sized bed along with some other furniture pieces. I have now had the bed for four months and absolutely love it. The price...well, you just can't beat it ($122 for mattress and box springs). I paid $60 to have to delivered to Manayunk along with a couple chairs and some bedside tables. The delivery was one guy with a U-haul type truck and together we moved the items upstairs to my apartment. In my book this was a slam duck; definitely a place I would go to again. So I did. My most recent visit I decided to buy a couch and a sofa table (and have since bought smaller stuff in between). Once again I requested it to be delivered to Philadelphia. This time I was told they won't deliver for purchases less than $300. Now mind you, though they do have items that are more expensive than that (not much though), racking up $300 is not necessarily the easiest thing to do there. As I said, my bed was $122, I got a few chairs around the $55 mark, sofa table was $60, and the couch was only $38 (and amazingly very nice). I told them I would pay for the shipping as I had done before but they said it wasn't worth it. Hmmm.... I have worked retail for many years of my life. If I have a $5 sale or a $500 sale, if a customer is willing to pay all the expenses of the shipping, you ship it! It does not affect your bottom dollar at all (unless you refuse to ship and then it has a negative impact!). In a world where they are so busy it would make a difference and the movers time could be better spent on other things, I may get it. This is not this world. I was willing to pay the cost of gas, the guy or two that would be making the move, and the time it took. If it costs them $50 to pay for the movers and the gas to get there, I'd be more than happy to pay that or more. If it costs them $100, then I'd pay a hundred! Instead, they lost the sale and a repeat customer because in my book, failure to accommodate a customer is a failure in business equals no return business. I was pretty disappointed by this as this was definitely a place that had some good items. Now they missed a sale which doesn't sound like a big deal being the couch was only $38 but am guessing it was so cheap because it has been there for a while. They could have freed up the real estate in the store by finally getting rid of this and displayed newer items better. Missing this sale also means missing future sales because being a furniture store, I think have shipping accommodations is essential. I recommend the following to them: 1) Never turn down a sale because you don't want to ship it. At least make it an option and charge more if you have to. That is okay! Saying we don't ship under a certain amount just sucks especially when your big ticket items are so often under $300. I was not about to spend another $200+ on items just to hit the mark. 2) If shipping is an issue for your company because of manpower, vehicles or whatever, then get set up with a local moving company so you can refer a customer to them. Not shipping should never be an option. Say, "We have recently partnered up with "XYZ" moving company. We can arrange to have them ship the item for you. Would you like to get a quote from them?" and then YOU call them up and get a quote! These small and very easy things keep customers coming back! Despite this irritated complaint, the staff is friendly and the items are decent. There seems to be a high changeover of inventory (some of the less desirable stuff sits for some time). I would highly recommend taking at least one of my recommendations if not both to heart. In today's economy, losing a customer is just not in anyone's best interest.

Knowledgeable salespeople were available all over the store but they were not pushy at all-- they answered questions and left us to browse and decide, revisiting to answer more questions and price items, again, leaving us to consider in peace with no pressure. I was thrilled to learn that items In Stock at their warehouse are deliverable in 2-3 weeks! Otherwise they have to build the furniture on demand placing the delivery estimate at 8-12 weeks. With mandatory quarantines last year, much of production was slowed, but it's picking back up, apparently. My husband and I were going the rounds and chatting with Stephanie (friendly, lovely, professional, hardworking, not pushy), and after getting an idea of what we were looking for, she directed us to some pieces we missed and I'm so glad! They were more affordable and nicer than what we were considering! Long story short, we bought several pieces then and there! So happy!!

The one item was not received after making contact with the general manager. She admitted that she made a mistake and did not include the item and said that there was nothing more she could do. Clearly a bait and switch. I was under the impression I was paying for five items and only received four which is what I agreed to. Additionally, one of my items arrived damaged. I have tried several times to call the store and no one picks up the phone, or returns my voicemails

Needed some knock-about clothes; lounge pants, gym socks, workout tees. Was not in the mood to play game of perusing tiny pics, reading thru altered reviews, only to receive a bad fit, or find the color is off, then have to eat it or send it back n' forth. Quickly tried on an arm full of goods. A brand called Spider emerged w/ perfect fit, right color, great value, & used a coupon to save even more. Every bit as good as the Under Armour I was looking to replace & more unique. Visited mattress dept. Memorial Day weekend. The team: Michael, Steve, Terry spent tons of time helping us make the right decision- giving the best price & standing by an offer we made good on to exchange for a better mattress 120 days later if not satisfied. Can't say enough about how convenient, cost saving, & large the selection of goods has been at this location- finding unique bargains on everything from holiday decorations to clothes & bed pillows.

As you enter the store you can find all ladies garments then leading to sweet section followed by kids/men's section. we did purchase some social dress, wallet and shoes. The quality and price are great at this location. The collections seem exquisite compared to other Boscov's locations. Staff is friendly and assisting and I definitely recommend this location.
