I came in and bought a mattress and asked for a bed bug protect The saleswoman sold me what I thought was what I asked for I got home and realized it was not a bed bug protector but instead a mattress cover I didn't open the product and brought it back to the store asking for a refund or exchange the store manager will not take it back stating that the salewoman told us it was a mattress cover not a bed bug protector The saleswoman lied to her manager so now I stuck with a product I can't use which is very expensive($60) I would not shop here cause they don't own up to there mistakes and are very unprofessional ( the saleswoman was raising her voice while talking to my wife) read more

Stay away from this store. I went to buy a mattress and was told by a woman named Melody that she could get me a good deal with a matress in a damaged box. I accepted gratefully. Long story short the mattress does not feel like it did in the store also the adjustable foundation is not the one I selected. I told the delivery men that something was wrong. They said that one was better than the one I ordered. I told them I did not like it. I could not sleep last night and went to the store to ask if I could just change to another one and was told sorry all sales final. Called management to no avail. For over 15 years we have been shopping with only Mattress Direct, but we will never again. We bought a new mattress in June and within 2 months it had sunk in on both sides. It is like sleeping in a bowl. They would not honor the 10-year warranty after sending pictures several times and talking to countless people. They said it was normal wear. We have been married over 40 years and have had many nice mattresses, but none have ever done this. If you aren't worried about your warranty, go ahead and shop there--the employees are nice, but don't expect help if you have a problem. read more

Lets be clear, a few years back, I purchased a bed from this specific location and was pleased. Which is why I went back. Upon going back on 7/25/20 I was greeted by a very nice guy and a friendly lady with a bubbly personality who showed me a few beds within my budget. Me being undecided said that I'd go home and give it some thought. But a good sales person won't you go that easily and Melody didn't. She persuaded me to lay down and get comfortable on the bed as she figure out how to accommodate me. After speaking with her boss in Baton Rouge she was given the okay to include the bed frame in the cost of the bed which made it more affordable for me to purchase. I received by delivery date being 8/4/ in which I took that day off to be present for my bed. On 8/4 I got rescheduled, which wasn't a big deal, yes I was frustrated but it was nothing to get erratic over. On 8/12 my bed arrives, I'm excited because I had been sleeping an air mattress. The delivery guys were very kind and fast. He calls me in to see my bed and I'm like wait a minute. Where's the frame? He replied telling me that it wasn't on their work order, but suggests that I call the store. I call the store and guy named Matt answered. He was rude with me from the beginning till the end. Shouting at me and telling me that he doubt Melody gave me anything. But since I wont shut up he suggest I get to the store before 11am because he is closing due to his store being hot and the ac not working. He laughed at my frustration at 3 moments during the call. Even coming to the store to get the frame, I'm 6 months pregnant and I live alone, I had no one to help me pick up those box springs nor king size mattress. He was on speaker phone and the delivery guys heard how he treated me. They apologized for his behavior but I was already crying at that point. I asked them to take the bed back. When I first came in I met Gary. He was nice but I was just looking. When I came back in I met Matt. He was amazing. Although he was the only person on the floor and the phone kept ringing, he continued to provide me with the best customer service. I really wanted one specific mattress that was quite expensive. Matt helped me not only find a floor model to cut the cost, but he made phone calls to other stores, to the main warehouse, and talked to his boss in order to help me out. He must have spent over an hour and half with me, and was patient and did not try to push a sale. At the end, he still made sure that Gary got the sale. Purchased Ergo Twin Wired Control bed (Sales Ticket #99385) on 02/03/2009 ($3,599.60). Within 6 months one of the wired controls went out. I called the Metairie store & we were able to pick up a replacement from the store. Another wired control went out & I called the Metairie store (10/6/11) & spoke with Kirk Graham & he promised to look into my problem & get back to me. A week later having not heard from him I called him back. He seemed aggravated with my call, put me on hold (but I could hear) as he had a long conversation with either a friend or fellow employee. When he picked the phone back up he asked me to repeat everything we had just gone over. Finally, he gave me a telephone number to Temperpedic (800.979.1457) that he said was the manufacturer. I called them & left a message. When I did not hear back from them I called every day. Finally on 10/17/11 I got a live agent & they explained that the manufacturer of my bed was Leggett & Platt (800.888.3078). They said the manufacturer of my bed was Ergo (888.550.3746). I left Leggett & Platt a message on 10/17. When they did not return my call, I contacted again on 10/21 left another message & then called them again on 10/24 when I was finally able to speak with an agent (Ryan Fragale). Finally they agreed to send me a new control & charged me $15.30 for shipping. I am a paraplegic and explained this to Kirk Graham every time I spoke with him. I explained how vital this control was to me. I felt like since I was not buying anything I was an aggravation and he just wanted to get me off the phone. This was one of the most horrible service experiences I have ever encountered. As a result, the Sealy Queen Size bed I just bought was from a competitor. The Mattress Direct received $50 million in tax incentives from the citizens of the State of Louisiana. I plan on contacting my state senator & representative to let them know how a company that has received help is treating the citizens of Louisiana. The lack of service from Mattress Direct has caused me a great deal of problems. If they will treat a disabled person & a $3,599.60 sale the way they treated me when I explained how bad I needed help, I can't imagine how they treat their other customers. I want to make sure before anyone else buys from Mattress Direct that they understand what will happen if they should ever need service or support. I also want the state to reconsider any tax incentives they may have not yet funded to Mattress Direct. This is not the kind of companies we want to build the foundation for recovery in our state. read more

Worst customer service EVER after the sale. The guys that delivered my serta motion adjustable base had no clue how to set it up and seemed miffed because they had to be there. After dropping and breaking on off the speakers on one of the panels, they suggested I use wood glue to fix it. I had to wait a week for a new one to be delivered and they set it up wrong. After repeated calls to KIRK the store manager , which he never returned I have called the BBB. The bed is great. Just don't buy it from mattress direct. Spent a great deal of time researching and reviewing mattresses. I have a bad back so need a firm one. Sales people convinced me the one I bought (Serta) would be and stay firm. Not much more than a month later after I bought it, the mattress is beyond sagging, it's like a hammock. I'm a tall 190lbs, so like, this shouldn't happen. Researching this on the Internet, all I find are horror stories. Company says make a warranty claim. Sounds like a pain and the run around before they screw me over. I had to put down a $10 deposit and the manager Matt kindly dropped off to my office a 2 x 4 block of wood and some string. Said hang the string over the bed and put the block where the sag is. Right. How dumb does this sound? So I did it and as instructed, took pictures of it as well as the mattress and box spring. Was told that If the bed has no stains and the string covers enough of the block, then the company will cover the warranty. Really? So, I sent the pictures in on a Friday. Amazingly, just the next Monday they messaged me to say that they are going to cover the warranty. My faith in humanity is restored, and I've changed my review for one star to five stars. Matt went above and beyond. Still, very frustrating and stressful situation. Not at all happy with Serta, but Mattress Direct is now OK by me. They did the right thing and helped me out. I came in knowing what I wanted pretty quickly... a strong sturdy mattress. I was shown my options and picked the mattress... now that part was quick and easy. The sales person did a fine job dealing with my very special request but the true test of a store is when things go wrong and how they handle themselves. I ordered the bed to be delivered the next day and for some strange reason even though all was set up for an easy delivery, it didn't happen. When you need a bed, you need a bed... it was either a hotel or hardwood floor and I'm a fricking princess. I called the store that sold me the bed and the delivery guys couldn't get in to my apartment even though the office was open and my friend was here to accept it. I was pissed. Poor Matthew answers the phone... he didn't even sell me the mattress... but he starts trying to fix the problem. After numerous grouchy comments from me I offered a possible second option for getting a bed to my home. Matt jumped right into action, he found another bed in town and had a friend deliver it to me after hours... the effort that he put into me getting my bed was beyond expected. Three years ago, I got a Serta iSeries Applause mattress from Mattress Direct. Over the last few months, I've been in a lot of pain and realized this was due to a sagging mattress. I posted to facebook and was told to start at the retail location from which I made my purchase. I read so many reviews saying these warranties are not backed and so many people had problems getting replacements. I called my Mattress Direct store and Matt helped me get the ball rolling- we submitted pics of my bed frame and the sagging of the mattress (to illustrate how much the mattress sags, you are given a block with rope and asked to take photos). The info was submitted but my claim was denied. I pursued it further with one of the store owners acting as my advocate/liaison. First, he tried replacing my rectangle bed frame with one that provides center support; the Applause mattress is a luxury mattress and is very heavy. He told me to flip my box spring to the wrong side and it might fix itself. No luck, I had a mattress that tented in the middle (like a triangle) and dipped on the sides. I couldn't even sleep in it. I called back and the replacement was approved. My new mattress and box spring arrived today and I cannot wait to flop onto it tonight (my fitbit says I have been achieving only a 23% sleep quality! A good night's sleep will feel ahhhhmazing). I want to say that every single person I dealt with was extremely patient, kind, respectful, and went out of their way to make this as easy as possible. Serta DOES stand behind it's warranty and Mattress Direct is a WONDERFUL company (in Louisiana) that really does help their customers. I also discovered that Serta is one of the best mattress companies about standing behind their policies and about making exceptions when necessary. There IS a process and you have to go through it, but if you really do have more than normal sagging (all mattresses sag some over time just because it forms to your body), then be patient and understanding, let your reps and store folks help you (work with them, not against them). If it doesn't meet the requirements the first time, you can resubmit as many times and as often as you want. I would HIGHLY recommend a Serta and I would absolutely recommend Mattress Direct. Just bought our first Tempurpedic Cloud Elite from these guys. While we did shop around and knew what we wanted, our salesperson, John Ramos, was THE BEST. After discovering buying a mattress could be compared to buying a car we were relieved to deal with Mr. Ramos. Through this ordeal we had been lied to and given wrong information about the mattresses, but Mr. Ramos knew WAY more than all the competitors and was patient enough to make it make sense to us. We knew, right away, that we were in the right place to finally purchase. While leaving other places left us feeling angry and confused, we left here feeling great about making a good selection. I HIGHLY recommend dealing with Mr. Ramos. I also VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to Mattress Direct for your needs. They offered DOUBLE the warranty that even the other bigger companies REFUSED to admit was possible. They added incentives for FREE and gave us deals that vastly exceeded other stores. We have not had ours delivered as of yet so I will post separately then. read more

purchased mattress and discovered it to be the source of bed bugs after 7 days from date of purchase. returned to store to either receive a replacement mattress or a refund, as the tags were still on the mattress but the plastic was removed and was informed policy of no returns after 7 days, this was not a simple customer return - but a defective product, in my opinion. bed bugs! i suspect a problem with bed bugs in their warehouse and trucks because while at the store i saw a company truck deliver new items while having "picked up" mattresses in the same truck. one would assume that when delivering beds they would also pick up the olds beds from households - thus the potential for bed bugs to get into new mattresses. hopeful of relief from corporate with this "locally owned" retailer came in the form of a phone call from a female who simply stated "at the time of sale and pick up of mattress, you did sign a form stating the mattress was in good condition correct?". so, this is how mattress direct provides customer service and service after the sale. no replacement. no refund. read more
