Flash forward to the next day. When my wife and I arrived, our mattress wasn't in stock. We were given the next level up from the one we purchased after much negotiation back and forth. We decided after the initial trial with the Purple that we didn't like it. We asked to return it per the policy of the Purple manufacturer. When we returned it, we were only offered a store credit to purchase another mattress. We weren't offered the refund that accompanies the return of a Purple mattress. We selected a Sealy Hybrid that has been a very good bed in the time that we've owned it. There was a significant price difference between the two, so we were forced to spend the balance in the store. Frustrating experience at every turn with this group. The chain as a whole may be better, but this location doesn't make the cut.

At the time of the second purchase we ordered a special pillow, only to learn 2 weeks later when the sales person entered the order multiple times the pillow was never added. When contacted on 11/16, sales person stated they would find out about it and never heard back from them. Then on 11/26 the sales person was again contacted and we then learned the pillow was never ordered. Such poor accounting practices and such poor follow up about this order would keep me from ever purchasing anything from this company again. We spent $5,300 and think that the service is really poor. If a zero could have been given, that would have been the review.

We asked David, a sales associate, for the price and found it reasonable. We decided to buy it and the entire process of payment, information, and delivery was the easiest process of any furniture items I have ever bought. They had a deal where if you donated $20 to the St. Jude Research Foundation you receive 20% discount. David was friendly and made us laugh. I gave four out of five only because the entire selection was smaller than I thought; however the selection pieces were modern and classic. Overall, Ashely's is a great furniture store. I was fine with that, as the 6 week mark approached I contacted Ashley Furniture and was told the order should be in at the end of July, again I was fine with that. As the end of July approached I called them again for an update to confirm my order was still on tract, I was then told my order was delayed yet again (no explanation other than "these things happen) and it should arrive the first week of August. On August 3 I contacted Ashley Furniture again to check the status and was told my order was in and ready for me to schedule a delivery date. So as I'm setting up the delivery date, I'm told that there would be a footboard and night stand delivered, when I questioned where the rest of my order was I was told it was delayed. When I asked if she could tell me when the rest of my order would arrive she told me that it would be approximately 3-4 more weeks, but was unable to give me a specific time frame. When I asked why it part of my order arrived and the other part was delayed, I was only given the explanation of "these things happen" So I asked them to cancel the order because I was tired of waiting and no longer wished to wait another 3-4 weeks (that would probably turn into even longer) and that no one from Ashley Furniture bothered to have the curtesy to call me to give me a heads up on the delay and when I asked to cancel the order, I was informed that I would be charged a 40% restocking fee. (what a F*** Scam) Fast forward to last week , August 19th I received a call letting me know my order was in and ready for delivery. I decided to go ahead and go through with the purchase vs paying their ridiculous 40% restocking fee scam. When I scheduled the delivery I confirmed with the girl that was scheduling the appointment multiple times that everything was in, the complete bed, the nightstand and the dresser and it would all be on one truck and she assured me it would be on one truck. Friday, August 21 the delivery driver shows up with only a footboard and a nightstand and we were told that we would have to schedule another delivery appointment for the remainder of the order. When I called the store to ask to speak to the manager, I was told that he had just gone into a meeting and he would call me right back. I asked for the GM and RM's name and number, I was told the store manager was also the General Manager and Regional Manager. Well after several hours of waiting on a call back I decided to call Ashley Furniture corporate office (what a joke that was) they transferred me to the Rogers store where I did finally get to speak to the SM (who is also the GM & RM) I expressed my frustrations to him very strongly and told him that since no one from Ashley Furniture had ever contacted me to tell me my order would be delayed (not delayed just once or twice but 3 times) and the fact that only part of my order was delivered, that I wanted a 40% credit towards my purchase for the inconvenience of taking off work to be available for them to deliver and having to take off work again for the remainder of my order to delivered seeing how I was going to be charged a 40% Restocking Fee Scam (seems fair). He advised that all he could do would be to offer me a Gift Certificate to their store. No apologies for the delay and no apologies for no communication. I will NEVER!!!! buy anything from Ashley Furniture again and I have let my family and friends, as well as my coworkers and Facebook friends know never to buy from them as well. As a Service Provider one would think that they would be aware of delays with their product and keep their customers updated.
