The mattress they sold me is so uncomfortable I'm now in constant pain day and night, especially sitting at a computer. I'm a young adult with no previous pain issues, but now my back, hips, hamstrings, and neck all hurt. There are red welts and bruises on my hips. The store didn't make the mattress, but the salespeople weren't honest when I was asking questions. Before visiting, I found a different mattress on their website, and called ahead to ask whether there was one on the showroom floor I could lay on, as I didn't want to buy a mattress without laying on it first. The person on the phone said yes, to come on down. When I arrived, they only had one of that mattress and it was boxed up in the back. I was told I could buy it, but couldn't lay on it first to decide. I almost walked out then after being lied to - and should have. The salesperson who showed me around wasn't the same one from the phone. (I'm not using names because I don't want to get anyone specific in trouble. Since two salespeople lied to me, it's more of a company problem than an individual one.) I said I was looking for a mattress that had side integrity since I use my laptop in bed and didn't want me or the laptop sliding onto the floor. And I wanted something that wouldn't sag or canoe, as the memory foam mattress I was replacing had done that after two years. The salesperson kept showing me mattresses where I slid off when I tried to sit on the edge. Only one didn't do that. I laid on it for half an hour in different positions and it felt very comfortable. I asked whether this mattress was reinforced in the middle to prevent sagging. The salesperson said, "Of course." At home I found out it's just pads of latex in a cover - no reinforcement of any kind. I described the base of my bed, which was different from the one in the showroom, and asked whether the mattress would feel different on my bed. The salesperson said, "No." That was NOT true at all. The mattress is so sensitive it's like the princess and the pea. Even tucking a sheet under the edge causes a lump. The salesperson said the store accepted returns, but not for personal items like pillows or mattress covers. Later, when I wanted to return the mattress, the salesperson said mattresses are also non-returnable. No mention of this when I was in the store, or when the sale was made, or on the receipt. So be aware - no returns on mattresses. The salesperson said if I found the mattress uncomfortable, because it's stacked layers of latex, I could exchange for harder or softer ones. After being up all night unable to sleep, I contacted them. The salesperson then claimed they do this for every latex mattress EXCEPT the one I bought. I kept protesting, and the salesperson did give me a mattress pad they had laying around, but it does nothing except overheat, so if I manage to sleep with the pain I wake up feeling like I'm being boiled. In less than a week it was canoeing. When I told them about the sagging, they said I should have bought a more expensive mattress. The one I bought cost four figures. I was willing to pay to have a comfortable mattress that would last, and ended up with something excruciating that sagged within its first week. Unfortunately, it was so expensive I can't afford to replace it, and I have too many roommates with odd hours to make sleeping on the couch an option. There's supposed to be a ten year warranty on the mattress, but it's voided if you put the mattress on the type of bed base I'd told the salesperson I had. If the salespeople had been honest about their return and exchange policies for this mattress, it not being reinforced in the middle, and the change in feel and warranty protection on different bases, I would never have wasted my money. Hopefully this review will help other people be more careful with theirs. I posted this review on Google, and the Mattress Company responded, at first trying to claim that I was confused and had gone to a different store. We exchanged a several e-mails in which they admitted I was a customer but again tried to blame me for not paying a higher four-figure sum. I spent TWO MORE HOURS at the store and finally they offered a refund. I edited my Google review to say I'd been given a refund, but the review was removed without notification, so I'm re-posting it here. I would not shop here again, and do not appreciate their customer treatment.

They were patient and open minded in helping me figure out what it was I was looking for. Their website seems promising and they've been in business a while. I do like to support local businesses as much as possible, so shopping here would mean supporting Calgary based businesses from start to finish. I have to say, they're absolutely passionate about what they do. Martin helped us with every aspect and helped us envision what we wanted. It's important to come in with some headboards you've seen online to show him what what you're interested in. There are several floor room models to help as examples. In the end you pick out your fabric/leather option and customize the size, shape, button tufts, edges, thickness, bed height...and the list goes on and on. We even customized a bench for the end of the bed to the same width and smaller depth. This is definitely something you can't find just anywhere. I'm only docking one star because of the lack of communication. I'm uncertain if their main email account rejects gmail messages to their spam folder. I did end up using a Shaw email account and sent a direct message via their Facebook page and within a half hour I got a phone call. I have to admit I was uncertain about the process because it did take much much longer than anticipated. We were told a timeline of about 4-6 weeks. It took 10 weeks before we got the call saying it was done. That's completely understandable after being told they lost 2 workers to injuries during December and that people were under the weather. Also, there were materials that were on order due to the amount being used for our headboard was more than expected and they needed more to finish our matching bench. Either way, we got what we were looking for and ended up purchasing a bed, mattress covers and a pillow because the prices were slightly lower than the previous store. The cost to have an old mattress removed from your home is also less. One thing that I'd recommend for the salesmen is that they need to be a bit more stern with children and communicate with parents. There was a kid bed hopping with his shoes on and even though the staff clearly didn't like it, they didn't really do anything about it. In fact, I was annoyed. This kid had the nerve to ask us to get out of his way so he could jump on the bed we were laying on. Whatever, pal. I was thankful that the boy and his family left shortly thereafter. Our mattress delivery will take over a week, which is disappointing because I'm really excited to get it. I'm not sure if this is normal or due to the post-Christmas shopping craziness. Either way, it's still respectable. The mattress we purchased is actually manufactured in Calgary and will not have been compressed at all prior to reaching our bedroom, which is cool. We started with sleep country first, cause we had some friends that had bought from them, and also had a great experience. We went right at open and a sales rep greeted us right away. Andres helped us find the right mattress which took about 30 mins. Each time we tested out a mattress he would walk away to put the pillows back on the other bed, giving us time to talk privately. So no pushy sales rep which was great. We ended up leaving purchasing a new bed and we got a lot of extras included in the price for buying the mattress. I really feel we got a lot of stuff for a good price. The delivery was great (next day). They were friendly and efficient. They were there, set up and left in about 15 mins. They left no mess behind. Other websites say right on the product page whether or not the item qualifies for the 100 night trial but Dormir does not. I mistakenly assumed that I should trial the topper for at least 30 days, as they suggest for the warranty, before asking for a return. That's my fault but I wish they had made it very clear instead of hiding it in another page because now I'm stuck with an expensive topper that no one in my house can sleep on. Customer service were very offhand and rather terse. So, don't buy their 'soft' mattress topper if softness is what you need.
