But there's a difference between ridiculous and affordable. The first of the two, is where Safavieh is at. On Central Ave in Hartsdale, Safavieh has plenty to choose from to decorate your living room, family room and bedroom and they've been doing so for a long time. I recently found a Safavieh brand, small 2x4 rug for my galley kitchen at on online store but tried my luck here and see if they have that style so I can whisk it away. Only available rugs are large Persian area ones with the exception of just 2 small rugs in colors I wasn't going for. I mentioned to the folks here I was in the market for a specific small size and a particular color rug. While the service was professional, I honestly felt that because I didn't drain my bank account with any of their items, tone and body language changed towards the end and were way off. But to their benefit, rugs are quality and these folks have a lot of daring pieces. Even the items that have cracks or marks on them, were outrageously priced.

But for smaller sales - this might not be the place. I wanted to update my bedroom with a few new pieces. Came with measurements and a floor plan and my designer came up with a really creative way to set up my room. Sounds great - right? It was, until when the furniture was delivered, I discovered my designer had ordered the wrong size dresser/chest unit. It fits in my room but not in the way I thought it could be arranged. I called the store immediately, the designer came to the phone but offered no apologies, no options. It's a custom piece, of course, so I can't return it. But I am deeply disappointed and will not use this particular Ethan Allen again. Buying furniture should be fun - and for the price, their customers should be thrilled with how the room turns out. I can't dump tens of thousands on furniture right now - there will be plenty of business for them over time.

Ordered custom furniture for a new home that was being completed. Unfortunately there was an…read moreexplosion in the home just prior to purchasing it and I was forced to postpone the delivery of my furniture order (had nothing occurred the order would have been able to be delivered on time). This is where Ethan Allen customer service fell apart. Other vendors gladly agreed to hold my orders for many months with no issues due to the unusual unforeseen circumstances Ethan Allen refused to extend the time of holding my furniture frequently citing the terms of the contract that I had signed and that it "wasn't their fault". They wanted to force me to pay outrageous storage fees and to pay for the furniture in full, site unseen. I was forced to secure a unit at a storage facility near the property and have the furniture delivered there. This is still an expense, but much cheaper option than what Ethan Allen was going to charge me for storage. They even had the nerve to not deliver the complete order to the storage facility. They had to make a 2nd delivery to the unit a week later with the missing items. The storage unit is near my new home but is a 200 mile round trip from where I am temporarily living. So I had to travel a total of 400 miles because of their negligence with the delivery. Manager Barbara and salesperson Deborah were absolutely abominable and have zero compassion or customer service skills. I realize what occurred fell outside the parameters of their precious contract, but this was a very unique and unusual situation which required them looking past all that to help out a customer. Shame on Ethan Allen. They represent themselves as a high end store...when you are purchasing. Once the purchase has been finalized their true colors shine through. ** I live in Congers NY. I purchased a leather reclining couch one year ago with the extended warranty. After about eight months the Leather began to peel and they would not do anything. They told me to wait until it was one year after my purchase to make the complaint and when I did they would not send anyone to Inspect or even to repair it and under no circumstances would not replace it. I have to tell you that about two years ago I bought the very same couch & loveseat from Jennifer Leather for another room. I had a problem with the mechanism and with the leather and they replaced my couch for me so that will show you how much this company has gone downhill. AGAIN, I repeat, do not buy anything from them and do not give them the opportunity to defraud you. Everything is clean, relatively organized, and stocked well - a contrast to other long term opened HomeGoods locations. I've never been the biggest fan of TJX Companies' offerings (TJ Maxx, Home Sense, Marshalls, Sierra, HomeGoods), but some of the newer locations have been growing on me. Perhaps it's the newness or maybe they're getting less gaudy/lame junk and more decent offerings. There were more than one item I would've considered purchasing, but I needed to behave since the holidays are approaching and I'm on a budget. I didn't have any interactions with employees - as I usually don't at these stores as rarely anyone will ask if I need any help (not that I mind because I prefer it the other way around) and will go out of their way to evade the customers, so I can't comment that aspect. The cuing area is decent and I saw no lines and more than one cashier. As mentioned, it's in the spot that Staples used to be in - so those who know the area will know where I'm talking about. This new location shares the same space with some businesses, most notably a Pizza & Brew and TJI Fridays. Parking lot can be busy at times, but I've never had an issue finding a spot. There's decent parking on the side of HomeGoods as well. Overall a good entry in an area of good shopping choices and one more store to add to Central Park Avenue's large overall shopping options.
