(This is the polite version of how I really feel.) Jesse and his team at Dreamland take everything I hate about mattress shopping out of the equation. Jesse is one of the best salespeople I know. He gives zero pressure, zero hype, and zero BS. He is only there to HELP his customers solve their sleep problems with his vast knowledge and products. Then, on top of that, his products are of high quality and his prices are very fair. No predatory pricing at Dreamland. Bottom line: Jesse takes all the pain out of mattress shopping. There's a reason I drove in from Ohio the first time I purchased from him, and now this time we live even further away but took advantage of a trip to PA to buy adjustable bases and two lift recliners. (I did not intend to buy the recliners, but Jesse quietly solved some big problems for us and I cheerfully gave him my money!) One of my friends who is local to Dreamland even had him ship mattresses to their Florida home rather than deal with the nightmare of mattress shopping down there. Prices were always competitive and they deliver expert service and, in one case, over the top great. When my old dryer wouldn't spin and the problem was identified to be a failed door switch which, unfortunately, had been discontinued and was no longer available, that meant my dryer was dead in the water. The service tech wouldn't hardwire the switch so the dryer can operate, but he showed me how to, which saved me from buying a new dryer. That was 3 years ago. The same dryer died again a week ago, but this time I decided to replace it because it needed too many new parts. The new GE dryer was delivered and installed for a very good price. On Sept 18 I called the Harleysville store and explained it was no longer needed. It was not opened/ unrolled and not used. I was informed it still could not be returned. I can underbid it was used or opened but it's intact! Unfortunately, I have no need for it now. I was told the district manager would call however, I'm still waiting on that call. I called the store this morning to verify told the district manager noted on my order no return is possible. I asked why he/ she didn't call me directly as I have been waiting to speak to this person. Apparently, the district manager does not talk to customers directly. REALLY?!?! Got a hole in the couch, and it's been slowly getting beaten up - stains don't come out, that kind of thing. Another friend told me her partner, who's just bought a new place in NYC, got his couch - the same kind I have - at Bob's, but now it includes built-in shelves on either side and charging stations. Huh. So last week, I popped up to Bob's to check out the new couch. I wasn't thrilled about having to shell out $$ for a new couch, but when I talked to Maryanne, the salesperson, she said that the policy I bought might cover the cost to replace it. I was dubious but agreed it was worth the 10 minutes it took to file a claim. Lo and behold. Got an email from the claims dept. yesterday with a voucher for replacing my couch! The OG model I have isn't made anymore, but the upgrade is better anyway. Popped up to Bob's today. Ordered the new couch. Used the voucher -- free delivery, new protection plan included -- and it cost me a whole $47 out of pocket. Shout-out to Stephen for his help today & for assuring me that Maryanne would get the commission since she's responsible for suggesting I try the claims process in the first place. Moral of the story -- Bob's has decent furniture. Nothing's built to last anymore, unfortunately, but their policy -- if you purchase the protection plan for $99 -- is absolutely worth it. They sent no one out to fix it but instead had there delivery guys fix it. Cable still doesn't work and still haven't heard back from anyone. Also the couch two of the legs were off and the whole bottom of the couch is peeling. Spend the little extra money and go somewhere else. Because even being discount place isn't worth it.
